It's always incredible to me how Omoi yo Hitotsu ni Nare, the one Aqours song to not feature Riko, became like... THE Riko song because of the way things shook out with Rikako during the live performances of it

Overflowing Feelings
Aikyan and Rikako finally get a rare day off to spend together. But a lingering insecurity leads to a heartfelt conversation, reminding them both of how special their bond truly is. As emotions overflow, they realize that some things are meant to be shared only between them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today was a rare day off.
I didn’t have anything planned, so I figured I’d go out shopping by myself. But just as I started making plans, my phone chimed.
Hey, are you free today?
Seeing Rikako’s name light up my screen made my heart skip. We’d both been busy lately, and I’d almost given up on seeing her for a while. Her invitation felt precious, like a gift.
Of course, I replied with an enthusiastic “yes.”
I got to the station a little early, glanced at my watch—still ten minutes to spare. Sitting on a nearby bench, I let myself relax, letting the warmth of the afternoon sun lull me just a bit. I was so wrapped up in thought that I almost didn’t hear her come up behind me.
"Aikyan! Spacing out already?"
"Huh—oh! Rikako! You scared me!" My heart raced as I turned to see her, and wow, she was beautiful. Her casual clothes, her bright smile… it was almost too much. My girlfriend was simply the best, no question about it.
She gave a little mock-pout. "Well, that’s what you get for dozing off like that, Kobayashi-san."
"Gah… Okay, point taken!"
Rikako chuckled, reaching for my hand. "Let’s go?"
I smiled, squeezing her hand as we began walking together. Somehow, it felt like it had been ages since we’d walked side by side like this, and the simple closeness made my chest feel warm and full.
We wandered through stores, laughing over silly things and admiring the displays. Though we’d always shared a lot in common, I’d almost forgotten how easy it was to fall into our own little world. Before long, our feet started to drag, and I could hear Rikako’s stomach rumbling in agreement with mine.
“Hungry?” I asked, grinning.
“Absolutely,” she laughed. We found a quiet little café with private booths, the kind of place that almost felt like our own hideaway. After we ordered, we settled into the comfortable silence that only comes with someone who knows you inside out. As we usually did, we took a few photos together.
But as I was about to upload one to Twitter, I hesitated. Recently, Rikako hadn’t posted any pictures of us together—not like before, anyway. Yet she still posted with other friends, like Arisha and Anchan. I looked at my phone and sighed, lost in thought.
“Aikyan? What’s up?” she asked, her voice suddenly gentle.
“Huh? Oh, it’s nothing!” I stammered, quickly putting my phone away.
She gave me a look, skeptical and worried. “It’s obviously something. You can tell me, you know.”
“It’s just…” I hesitated, wondering if saying this would make me seem silly or, worse, clingy. But her gaze was warm and patient, and I knew she wouldn’t judge. I took a deep breath.
“Recently… you haven’t been posting our photos. Not on Twitter, or Instagram… But you’re still posting photos with Arisha and Anchan.” My voice trailed off. I lowered my head, feeling a blush creep up my cheeks. Why did I have to make things so awkward?
“Seriously?” Rikako said, her voice softer. Then, with a mischievous grin, she flicked my forehead. “You big dummy, Aikyan.”
“Ow!” I rubbed my forehead, giving her a confused look. “What was that for?”
She sighed, shaking her head. “Look, you know how people always say, ‘KyanRika, KyanRika,’ right? They post about us like it’s a show, like we’re playing a role. But it’s not like that with us.”
Her words caught me off guard. I blinked, processing what she meant.
“I don’t want people to think what we have is just… an act,” she said, her tone serious. “I mean, sure, we joke around with everyone, but with you, Aikyan, it’s different. You’re… special. And I don’t want anyone mistaking that for some performance.”
I felt a heat rush to my cheeks as her words sank in. Rikako… she really thought of me that way? My heart fluttered, a warmth spreading through my chest that I couldn’t contain.
“Rikako! You don’t know how happy that makes me!”
“S-stop being so loud! And quit clinging to me!” She squirmed, trying to push me away, but I could see the faint blush spreading across her cheeks.
“Blushing Rikako is the best,” I teased, grinning. “Let’s keep our little KyanRika moments between us from now on, okay?”
“KyanRika moments?” She laughed, and it felt like a huge weight had lifted. All my silly insecurities disappeared with her laughter.
Just then, she leaned in and wrapped her arms around me, pulling me into a warm, tight hug.
“Sorry if I made you feel insecure,” she whispered, her voice soft in my ear. “But I only want you to feel special, Aika.”
My heart felt like it might burst. I closed my eyes, feeling her warmth and holding her close, wishing I could stay like this forever.
“I know you do, Rikako,” I whispered back. “Thank you for making me feel that way.”
We stayed like that for a while, just holding each other and letting the world around us melt away. And when she finally pulled back, she looked into my eyes, her gaze soft and full of unspoken promises. She leaned in, and we shared a gentle kiss, sweet and lingering.
When we finally parted, I felt dazed, blissfully so.
“Hey… want to stay over tonight?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
My cheeks warmed. “Really?”
“Yeah. It’s been too long since we’ve had a night to ourselves.”
I smiled, feeling my heart swell with excitement and happiness. “Okay, but just know—you asked for it,” I said, smirking playfully.
She rolled her eyes, but her smile said everything. Tonight would be ours, and no one else’s.
