“Sweetie, are you going to ask him out yet?”

“Ask who out?” Ratio hums, straight razor to his jaw as he shaves away the bit of stubble growing back. “I wasn’t aware you had your eye on someone.”

“We both have an eye on someone,” Aventurine says, laughing softly as he sits on the bathroom counter. His bare legs cross each other as he leans back. “Don’t act so oblivious; we’ve been married for however long, I know you’ve got an eye on that cute man who has that small nonprofit hospital.”

“And what of it? You know we all used to know each other in college,” Ratio points out, cleaning the razor before putting it back in the medicine cabinet. Wiping his jaw with aftershave, he continues, “I’d rather not pressure Jules into anything through a position of power. I’m simply… admiring.”

“I wasn’t aware admiring came alongside murmuring his name while you meditated,” Aventurine teases, dragging his nail along Ratio’s bicep. “He is nice to admire, though. Such a lovely face to dream about, right?”

“Aventurine…” Ratio starts, glaring. “Don’t you dare plan anything.”

“Who said I was? Accusing me, your husband!” Aventurine cries, dramatically leaning forward and pouting. “But… you wouldn’t be mad if I had extended a small opportunity to him, no? Now, before you get mad,” he says, keeping a hand on Ratio’s chest, “it’s on an even playing field. I merely asked him to stop by your office so you two may discuss recent surges in medicinal technology. And, well, I’ll be there too.”

Ratio frowns, sighing a little and glancing to the mirror. “Do you promise to behave?”

“Of course,” Aventurine purrs, kissing Ratio’s jaw. “I’ll always behave in front of Jules- it’s just a matter of you making a move or not. If you hesitate for too long, I might have to go first…”

It’s obviously a teasing jab, meant to get Ratio’s hackles raised. And he’s a little pissed that it works. “Patience is a virtue, as they say,” Ratio starts, grabbing Aventurine’s jaw with his finger and thumb. “And good boytoys should behave when told to. I’ll ask Jules out when I’m sure and ready.”

Aventurine giggles, a flush to his face as he grins sleazily. “I can’t wait.”

oh you're good!! It's super rare to be like recognize from that era as that's when I started posting to the internet JDKLAS but of course I have fond memories!! Who knows she could just not be online too!
