Realized I never posted this here!
It took two years, but I made the Annie's Cathedral Rose Window Afghan! First time I made a full blanket, really love it!

This blanket is a monster. I had no idea how big it was going to turn out. This is it on a king sized bed. Not the best photo but I was so excited to finish it I just had to share. Tomorrow, assuming the weather is good for it, I'll get some better photos in the sun.

Knit this square yesterday, the yellow is that little skein of handspun hampshire that I dyed in the second round of exhaust. I got pretty far on an acrylic garter stitch scrap blanket à few years ago, before realizing I hate acrylic and have less than no use for a blanket made of the stuff. But man, the squares looked really nice. This blanket is stockinette because I intended to practice flat colorwork, but I wish I'd just done garter stitch. I love how it looks a lot more. Anyway... the gray is some Jacob scrap. I like both sides, not sure which will be face up when I sew it on. I need to block a ton of them atm, just don't really enjoy it. (That is another benefit of garter stitch squares).

Also the bread. Just finished its first rise. It's a blend of bread flour, whole wheat, and rye. The rye was accidental, I was looking for either spelt or more whole wheat but it wasnt labeled and light in the basement was off, so I grabbed rye accidentally, and... eh. Also has toasted Pecans. Idk, all my bread is 'what if I tossed a bunch of random stuff in a bowl while having very thick brain fog ?' But it usually tastes pretty good.

Also, 3 rolags down. I'm taking a long time with them trying to get all the vm out, but I think it's actually working really well. We'll see.

more squares for my blanket, this time with some autumny color combinations! i sized the blanket up a bit so it could work as a beadspread — meaning i now need 25 squares instead of 16, which i don’t mind at all — i could crochet only afghan blocks until the end of time :)
square 1: this is the square from the Community Blanket by Michael Sellick. It ended up being much smaller than I expected, so I added some rows, + a few mini puffs.
yarn: Lana Grossa Cotonella 006 for the inner square, and Lana Grossa Pima 001 in dusty pink and random white cotton yarn i found in a cupboard somewhere for the border!
square 2: Cora by Diana Krenz. I am gonna be so honest, I saw this square, and thought: I think I know how to do this without reading the pattern — and I could! so this is the first square for the blanket that isn’t free. I bought the pattern despite being able to do the square without reading it tho. :) i squared it up differently tho to match stitch count for the splendid serendipity border.
yarn: Lana Grossa Cotonella 006 for the square and 008 for the border!
square 3: a slightly altered Spiro Star by Helen Shrimpton! i added some bobbles and squared it up differently as a result of that because it wouldn’t lay flat with the bobbles.
yarn: Lana Grossa Cotonella 004 for the square, and then maybe 005 or 006 for the border? I honestly can’t tell :D
19 squares done (3 more i need to post still), 6 to go. i have 3 in progress, and 2 that i need to decide whether to include at all. Then the only steps left are choosing a joining method and which color that should be, and a proper border to tie em all together :) the end is in sight (wish it wasnt! C: )

Cathedral rose window Afghan in rainbow colors to compliment my stained glass window Afghan in the same color scheme.
I started this Afghan right after Christmas and worked on it off and on for 3 months before completion.

Made this patchwork blanket during the pandemic as a way to work through a lot of the scrap/extra yarn I had. I even flew across the country with my squares when I went to quarantine with my sister!
I realized I never posted about it since it wasn't very ~~aesthetic~~ but it has been such a good blanket for me since then that it seems like a shame not to share it! It is just warm enough to be comforting, but not so heavy that it makes me sweat outside of winter months
Pattern: Kraft-tanken-Patches

Getting there. This is through all but the last round of the first set(which is only sc and so doesn't add much height anyway). It is now two feet across.

Soft kitties, warm kitties:)
@dollsonmain posted this adorable crochet kitty blanket a while ago and I knew I had to make one:) Grabbed some colors and got to work.

Close up. The pattern is simple and works up quickly but it took me a long time to finish it as I ran out of yarn; silly me thought a skein of each was going to be enough lol. I couldn't find close enough color matches in store (most of my yarn is old stock people give me) but fortunately Sis was rearranging my yarn and discovered enough that I was able to complete it:)
Tumblr media
It's a bit larger than I intended (I meant it to be more toddler sized). I couldn't decide on a border color so used each color on one side.
This is an adorable blanket and I can't wait to make more!

The colors are so bright it kinda blows out the camera, but I’m quite pleased with how it turned out! (Much bigger than I intended, but I had fun!) 7ft x 5.5ft and Albus approved!
