My brother gifted me this "tea" set, and while the lavender never made it (it's currently outside to see if real sun will make those blasted seeds germinate), the other two have been fun.

Forgot to water them for a short time at one point (I didn't realize they'd suck it up so quick when prior to that I was genuinely worried I was overwatering them) and nearly caused them to die back, but some pruning and transferring them into a larger pot has done wonders.

I gotta say, at least having hermit crabs as one of my first pets really taught me to manage my anxiety with having an animal that just disappears/is inactive for large periods of time. Now I have a tenrec and a bearded dragon, both in torpor or brumation, and I still Hate It but handling it better than expected.

Might fire up an Aerogarden and grow some greens. Though I probably need to buy some nutrients first, so I dunno.

Also concerned that I'll have nothing to focus on in January if I obsess over the seed catalog now.

I thought it might be fun to grow my own vegetables so I got an aerogarden for my birthday a few weeks ago (happy virgo season to those who celebrate). On september 1st, I planted microgreens, mesclun salad greens, peppermint, thyme, parsley, and catnip. When the catnip didn't sprout I realized an aerogarde might not be the best vessel for it so I swapped it out for lavender. The microgreens took off first, within two day of being planted, with the mesclun greens not too far behind. The last photo was taken tonight (sept 14th) and I've already cut off microgreen leaves twice for sandwiches.

Checking if the seeds have sprouted or the plants have grown has really been giving me something to look forward to everyday, it's been so exciting! Not to mention I'm impressed I actually got not just one but multiple plants to grow in my first shot. Also incase you've been wondering I've been rearranging them because I read that the pods in the center get the most light so it's best to play musical chairs with the pods to allow each plant enough light.
