Been a lot happening in the world, and in my life as well. So I decided to chill by making a little Baldur's Gate comic (there is more in the works right now.)

It was something I thought about a long time ago and now I guess I can adapt the ideas I had taking in BG3 as well. Not like Larian is doing any more, and other studios aren't lining up to work with Hasbro, so in lieu of sunstantive modding tools for BG3 this will have to do.

Heyo!! Passerine was one of the gateway fanfics I read in the DSMP fandom; (I only got into the DSMP last year!!) I'm incredibly grateful that I read it since it's one of the first times that fanfic has genuinely made me bawl, lingered in my mind, and made me want to take writing notes. Your prose was incredible!!

I read it without much knowledge of the DSMP, heh, but the narrative and prose sucked me in and captivated me. It hurt, but in a beautiful world changing if it makes sense?

I ended up recommending it to a friend who never got into the DSMP since I thought Passerine stood up rather well without fandom knowledge, and they ended up liking it, too.

I hope that passerine isn't a project that's haunting you and that you look back on it with pride. I'm planning on rereading the Aerie series soon to pick up on all the DSMP things I hadn't picked up the first time!! I'm also planning on reading your new project God and Other Villains when I have the time; I just know reading both of them back to back is going to be gutwrenchingly good, so it'll take me a bit, but I know I'll come out of it with plenty of good thought-provoking or heartbreaking quotes and a new perspective on things :D

THIS IS SO SWEET. its actually crazy how passerine has long outlived my interest in the source material, and how new ppl are still finding it after all this time.

no, i don't think i'll ever think of passerine as something that ""haunts"" me because it was genuinely a love letter to something that, at that time, i thought deserved it. whether or not it continued to deserve that love is immaterial—what matters to me is what it felt like to me and everyone else at the time of writing. thats mostly why i kept it up despite everything, because i know it means a lot of things to a lot of people, including me. (and partly because i couldnt bear to lose what i had written for techno.)

but i do think ive improved A LOT as a writer since then, and i hope God And Other Villains proves that :") Thank you so much for showing interest in it!
