Beaches for family and Animal Owners in Florida
Florida beckons families and animal lovers alike with its sugar-white sand beaches, turquoise waters, and endless sunshine. But finding a beach that caters to both the needs of your playful pups and the desires of your sandcastle-building crew can feel like a challenge. Fear not, fellow adventurers! This guide will help you discover the perfect Florida beach for your family and furry companions. You might adjust to the fact that you will walk on the hot sand of the beach, but your dog can't. Make the exploration even more enjoyable with the convenience of a Golf Cart for Rent in Port St. Lucie. It will help you and your furry friend explore more amazing places that you might miss without it.
Tumblr media
Finding the Perfect Beach Buddy Beach
Not all beaches in Florida welcome four-legged friends. Luckily, there are plenty of designated dog beaches where your pup can frolic freely. Here are some key things to consider when choosing a dog-friendly beach:
Leash Laws: Some beaches allow off-leash play, while others require your dog to be on a leash at all times. Choose a beach that aligns with your dog's temperament and training level.
Water Conditions: Calm, shallow waters are ideal for dogs who love to splash. Be mindful of strong currents or waves that could pose a danger to your furry friend.
Amenities: Some dog beaches offer doggy waste bags, water fountains for both humans and canines and even rinse stations to remove sand after a fun-filled day.
Top Dog-Friendly Beaches in Florida
Now that you know what to look for, let's explore some of Florida's top dog-friendly beaches:
Tumblr media
Jensen Beach: Bring your furry friend to a beach made just for dogs!  They can run around freely, splash in the water, and make new pup pals at the dog beach.  Afterward, there's a fenced-in area called the Paw Playground with fun obstacles to climb on and play with. Feeling energetic? You can have a rental golf cart in Jensen Beach to explore the scenic beauty- Jensen Beach is made up of several islands connected!
Stuart Beach: Looking for an awesome beach day with your pup? Stuart Beach has miles of beautiful shoreline and many areas where your dog can join the fun!  Build sandcastles, splash in the waves, or just unwind with your furry friend. And for those in your crew who like to catch a wave or cast a line, check out nearby parks like Flagler Beach State Park, assuming this is still close by, for some great surfing and fishing!
Bonita Beach Dog Beach (Bonita Springs): This lively beach caters to both sunbathers and canine companions. Let your dog frolic in the waves or chase seagulls (responsibly, of course!). After a day at the beach, explore the nearby shops and restaurants in Bonita Springs.
Making Memories with Your Pack
Once you've chosen your beach, here are some tips for a fun and safe day out with your family and furry friend:
Pack Plenty of Water: Florida sunshine can be intense. Bring enough water for everyone, including your dog, to stay hydrated throughout the day.
Bring Shade: An umbrella or beach tent will provide much-needed shade for both you and your dog.
Don't Forget the Dog Essentials: Pack waste bags, a leash, a comfortable dog bed or towel, and dog-friendly sunscreen if needed.
Plan for Exercise: A tired dog is a happy dog! Bring along a frisbee or ball for some playtime in the sand.
Clean Up After Your Pup: Always be a responsible pet owner and clean up after your dog to keep the beach clean and enjoyable for everyone.
Tumblr media
Beyond the Beach: Adventures for the Whole Family
Florida offers so much more than just beautiful beaches. Consider these family-friendly activities to complement your beach trip:
Explore Nature: Florida is home to stunning natural parks and preserves. Take a hike, go kayaking, or embark on a wildlife-watching tour.
Visit a Theme Park: From the thrills of Orlando's world-famous theme parks to the educational fun of aquariums and zoos, Florida has something for everyone.
Dine Out: Indulge in fresh seafood or try local specialties at one of Florida's many restaurants.
With its endless stretches of sandy beaches, welcoming dog-friendly zones, and family-oriented activities, Florida is the perfect destination for a memorable vacation with your entire pack. Your fluffy friend might not be able to tolerate the heat of the sand. It is better to search for the best golf cart rental service near you in Port St. Lucie. So pack your bags, grab your leash, and get ready to create lasting memories under the Florida sun!

Note: Hey guys! Before we get started, I think I should give you a heads up. Most of you know this story is quickly approaching the end! I don’t want anyone to be taken by surprise when the last chapter comes, so I thought I’d give you time to prepare yourselves. 🙂 There are currently five more chapters including this one! I know!! Now that I’ve thoroughly shocked your system, try to enjoy the chapter. Read it slowly. 😀
Time in Willow Creek: 2 years, 8 months, 2 weeks
For the past two and a half or so years, Juliana’s bedroom had been her safe place. Her fortress. The only place she could be her unadulterated self. In that room, she shed many tears, made many promises to herself and contemplated life’s greatest mysteries. The room incubated her, providing an environment to grew from a scared little girl into a more confident woman. As she transformed, the room transformed with her, going from what used to be a little boy’s room to a space that was unequivocally hers. Every corner, nook, and cranny that expressed her personality was now void. She had a new fortress. Another blank canvas to pour herself onto and express herself in new ways.
Kevin’s footsteps echoed in the stairwell. She got anxious. As much as she looked forward to moving into her own apartment, the part of her that enjoyed comfort and resisted change wanted to stay one more night. But, one more night would turn into two more nights. She had to let go.
“Hey,” he said with a bright smile. “Are you ready?”
What a loaded question. Is anyone ever ready for major life changes? Her eyes traced the outline of the room once more. He stood next to her also eyeing the room. “Hard to leave the only place you’ve ever known, huh?”
It was. This made twice in her life now, but this time she went willingly and looked forward to it.
“We’re not in a hurry. You can stay a little while longer if–“
“No.” She brushed past him and headed for the stairs before her heart got the best of her. She had spent the last few days coming to grips with her new reality and needed to rip off the bandage.
Kevin picked up her bag and followed her downstairs. Harold, Hillary, and Abigail waited for her in the living room. Saying goodbye to them would be the hardest part of all. Of course, it wasn’t a full-on goodbye. She would be there every Sunday for the foreseeable future. What she had to say goodbye to was the place they held in her life. The days of needing a tour guide were long gone, and a guardian was not necessary. She had to learn to take care of herself.
  “Ju-nah-nah!”
That high pitched voice always brought a smile to her face. Juliana had been an integral part of the child’s life from the very beginning. Not seeing her every day would be hard and so would withdrawing from the family.
Abigail stretched her arms to Juliana, so she scooped her up. “Hello, bonita.”
“I’m gonna put this in the car,” Kevin said.
Juliana squeezed the precious baby and rocked with her. It wasn’t time to cry yet, but resisting was so hard with such sweetness in her arms. Hillary stood next to her looking like she tried to find some semblance of comfort her in her eyes. “You’ll be back on Sunday, right?”
  “Of course.”
Hillary looked like she might lose it. “Gosh, Juliana! It’s gonna be weird without you! Don’t forget about us.”
  “I could never.”
Hillary grabbed her, sobbing a bit. “I’m gonna miss you so much! I know things haven’t always been right between us, but you’ve always been a great friend.”
Juliana’s own tears threatened to drop, but she wouldn’t let them. Not yet. “We’ll always be friends.”
She let her go and dried her eyes. “I know. Hoo, boy! Get out of here quick before we flood this place!”
They laughed, and Hillary took Abigail. Juliana turned her attention to Harold and flashed a quick smile. “Thank you for everything.” A rogue tear or two escaped.
He cupped her hand and patted it. “You come on back anytime. Keep your key.”
She couldn’t hold the tears much longer and needed to leave immediately. “Thank you. I will. I love you both.” She wanted to say so much more, but once the tears came, she wouldn’t be able to stop them. “I’ll see you on Sunday.”
  “Say, ‘bye, Juliana,’ sweet pea!”
Abigail attempted to repeat the words in her own way and waved.
  “Bye bye, bonita.”
  “Call me tomorrow, ok?”
  “I will.”
Juliana waved at Harold. He nodded, and she left.
Kevin attempted to comfort her, but she kept walking toward the car. “Just go, please.”
She cried almost the whole way there, and thankfully Kevin didn’t attempt to give her comforting words or ask questions. She didn’t need comfort. This was something that needed to get out. When he finally found a place to park, they sat in the car until she felt ready to continue. Once composed, she nodded to him. He got her things out of the car, and they headed toward her new residence. The apartment was located in the art district a couple of blocks away from the arts center. Juliana couldn’t have been more excited about the neighborhood.
Moving wasn’t on her immediate radar. After she agreed to let him pay the rent a few months ago, he began looking. About a month later, he told her he found a place and wanted her to see it. Her “soon” and his “soon” were clearly not aligned. Things were happening way too fast, and she hadn’t prepared herself mentally. As she began to decline, something about that knee-jerk reaction made her feel like she had regressed to her scared little girl state. Being afraid was natural, but it wasn’t a reason to run away. She could be ready and scared simultaneously; that’s how her life in Willow Creek had been. She approached every obstacle with a timid boldness because she needed to overcome them, and this situation was no different. This plan had been in the works for so long, and she had no compelling reasons to stall, so she agreed.
The apartment was much too big and fancy just like Hillary said it would be. The hidden part of her that enjoyed nice things wanted to take it, but the practical part knew it was insane. Living there would put her in the position she did not want to be in. She wanted a place she could afford without Kevin’s money. Though she had come to terms with his generosity, she didn’t want to depend on him. Taking that apartment would be a fiscal suicide. She’d never have money to play with. And, forget about saving. Kevin would proudly swoop to save the day, but she did not want that to happen.
They saw three apartments in the same month, but they didn’t feel like home. It took Kevin a while to find the one, and when he did, she knew immediately. He thought it was small, but it was perfect. The apartment had a roommate floorplan with a third room across the hall from the master bedroom. It looked the same size as the upstairs bathroom at Umbrage Manor, so it couldn’t have been a third bedroom. It could only be a nursery or an office, but Juliana saw the perfect studio. The kitchen was so spacious, she could do some serious entertaining if she wanted to. A half-wall separated the dining area and tiny living room. Though small, it was perfect for a single person.
The place needed a little TLC. Kevin didn’t like it because he couldn’t see past the worn wallpaper and Berber carpet. Juliana saw its potential. And, she kinda liked the carpet. The landlord gave them permission to fix it up, and Kevin jumped at the chance despite it not being his decision to make. She had plans to make it her own anyway and didn’t mind the intrusion.
Between renovating the apartment, and getting ready for the grand opening, the last two months had been hectic. In the midst of the busyness and chaos, Juliana had so much fun. Kevin took her to what felt like every store in Willow Creek, Oasis Springs, and Newcrest to find the perfect furnishings for her first apartment. His silence surprised her as she was so used to him inserting himself into her decisions. After all, it was her apartment. She picked everything out, and he paid for it. One time, however, he did persuade her to make a different decision. She needed a table and chairs for the dining area. It didn’t make sense to crowd that space, and she wanted a small set. Why would she need more than that for just herself? But, in Kevin-like fashion, he convinced her to get a large set.
“Come on, Juliana! What if you want to have all your friends over? Or, what if Hillary decides to have Sunday dinner at your place one week? I know you don’t think you’ll be entertaining much, but you’re Little Miss Popularity now!”
She rolled her eyes. “Whatever, Kevin.”
She got the table though. The carpet got replaced with hardwood, and the wallpaper was ripped away and replaced with paint and crown molding. Though Kevin wouldn’t be living there, shopping and planning with him felt good, and she had more fun than she expected. In the future, when they would go through this process again for a house they would purchase together, would it still be fun? Would he be more opinionated? He let an interior designer decorate his current house, so he’d probably give her the same autonomy. As intriguing as that thought was, thinking about doing it all again in future stressed her out. Being married to Kevin and living together in a gorgeous home with their family was a beautiful thought, but it could wait. She had adventures in the city to conquer.
“Well…here we are,” he said, waiting for her to unlock the door.
She had been in the apartment many times and saw the furniture when she directed the movers on where to put it. But, standing in the doorway looking at her place all put together felt like seeing it for the first time. Everything came together beautifully, but the bare walls made it look so plain. Still, decorating was the least of her worries. She had plenty of time to paint marvelous works and put her mark on the apartment.
    “I can’t believe I’m here.”
  Kevin grinned. “Are you happy?”
It didn’t feel real, but she felt so warm inside. “I don’t know what I am.”
“That good, huh?” He chuckled. “Do you want to unpack, or do you want to celebrate?”
  “Unpack, then celebrate.”
  “Want some help?”
She shook her head. “Relax.” She gestured toward the living room and took her bag to the master bedroom with the biggest smile on her face. Living on her own still felt weird, but commanding her first guest to enjoy himself felt amazing. She in no way owned the apartment but still felt the pride of ownership. Before her birthday, she pondered what this new decade of life would bring and anticipated amazing experiences in the future. Moving was one of them. Over and over she attempted to imagine what it would feel like, but nothing came close to the overwhelming feelings of pride, joy, and even shock she had at that moment.
Juliana - Chapter 135 Moving Forward - The time has finally come. Juliana is moving out! Saying goodbye will be hard, but she is looking forward to adventures in the city. Note: Hey guys! Before we get started, I think I should give you a heads up. Most of you know this story is quickly approaching the end!

Best International Beach Vacations for Any Budget: From $10,000 to $1,000
For $10,000: 7 Days in Vietnam at Six Senses Ninh Van Bay
Beach at the Six Senses Ninh Van Bay/Oyster
Vietnam’s gorgeous Ninh Van Bay may not not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of a luxurious beach getaway. However, if you’re looking for a true escape from the ordinary, this is your place. Once you’re here, you’ll feel like you’re on a remote island.
Oh, and expect to pay for the privilege. Ninh Van Bay is an exclusive hideaway for the well-heeled, rich, and famous — and it’s only accessible by boat. Spend your days exploring sandy coves, admiring the rugged rock formations, or taking in the backdrop of lush mountains. The shallow turquoise waters are great for quick dips or testing your balance in a kayak or SUP, while the golden-sand beach is a sweet spot to hang out and take in sparkling bay views. Believe it or not, twinkling with lights and a sky full of stars, Ninh Van Bay is almost just as beautiful at night.
Six Senses Ninh Van Bay
The Water Pool Villa at the Six Senses Ninh Van Bay/Oyster
Six Senses has an upstanding reputation for being a leading wellness and luxury resort brand. Their Ninh Van Bay property is the perfect permutation of rustic and luxury without being showy. The resort is built into the lush green hill, giving guests a true feeling of being a part of the surrounding natural beauty. The 58 thatched-roof villas are stylish and chic with a rustic lean and come with kitchenettes, AC, stunning views, and a breezy open-air design — plus, one of our favorite bathrooms features: a wooden bathtub.
Included in the budget: We budgeted out our nightly stay based on the average price of Beachfront Pool Villa. You’ll get a dual-level thatch-roofed villa, private plunge pool, stunning views, and direct access to the beach. A daily breakfast buffet is included in the room rate, but we’ve also added the full board dining option, so your lunch and dinner at the resort’s three restaurants plus one drink per meal is included as well. We’ve also counted the cost of roundtrip bus and boat transfers from the airport — and you still have enough money left to use on treatments at the renowned spa, excursions, unique experiences like dining in a cave, and Vietnamese cooking classes.
For $8,000: 7 Days in the Maldives at Kandolhu
Beach at the Kandolhu Maldives/Oyster
Believe the hype: Maldives is gorgeous. It’s absolutely earned its place on the tops of travel bucket lists everywhere. The North Ari Atoll is known for its fish-filled coral reefs and we’ve picked a spot for you that’s within an hour’s boat ride from over 30 dive sites. Kandolhu Island is small, but near perfect, rimmed with a sugar sand beach on all sides and surrounded by crystal clear turquoise waters. You can expect to see baby reef sharks in the shallow waters off the island, while going a little further out is rewarded with a bunch of different tropical reef fish. If you want a deeper look, trade your snorkel for scuba and get certified right at the resort. If you’re planning on taking an excursion to a local island (which we highly recommend), please be sure to pack appropriate and respectful clothing as Maldives is a conservative country.
Kandolhu Maldives
The Kandolhu Maldives/Oyster
Yeah, there’s a lot of hype around the undeniably stunning (and pricey) Gili Lankanfushi resort, but we love the quiet and intimate feel at Kandolhu. It’s also closer to the airport, which is a definite plus after a long day (or days) of flying across the globe. Like most resorts in Maldives, Kandolhu is on its own private island — in this case, it’s so small it’ll only take you a few minutes to walk from end to end. With only 30 villas in total, privacy isn’t an issue, leaving you with enough space from other guests to feel like you’ve got the island to yourself. Eat at four gourmet restaurants, borrow a book from the library to read on the white powder-sand beach, or strap on a snorkel and check out what’s swimming around the fantastic house reef.
Included in the budget: The budget includes nights in a west-facing Beach Villa sporting an outdoor bathroom with large jetted tub, in-room wine fridge, king bed, and a furnished terrace. We’ve also included the roundtrip price for seaplane flights and transport from Male airport, flights from home, and the resort’s Ultimate Inclusions package which has you covered for all meals plus over 30 international wines. Most activities offered at the resort are included.
For $5,000: 4 Days at Four Seasons in Nevis
Beach at the Four Seasons Resort Nevis/Oyster
Nevis is one-half of the Caribbean island nation of St. Kitts and Nevis. It’s a small island with a population of about 12,000, and, while tourism is big here, it hasn’t quite reached the high levels you’re used to seeing in places like the Bahamas or even Turks and Caicos. Besides, if you haven’t noticed the motif, we’re very into islands that you reach by taking a boat. If you’re not trying to fly halfway around the world to get your hands on that secluded, faraway island vibe, then head for Nevis. The beaches are calm, beautiful, and perfect for unwinding, relaxing, and forgetting about your busy life back home for a few days. If you are the type of traveler who likes to get off property and explore, head for a casual soak at the hot springs, hike up a volcano, catch wind on a sailing trip, or hop on a bike and see where the path takes you.
Four Seasons Nevis
The Ocean Pool at the Four Seasons Resort Nevis/Oyster
Prepare to have your breath taken away as your transfer boat pulls into the dock area of the Four Seasons Nevis. It’s truly postcard perfect: a romantic beachfront, well-manicured grounds, and the resort are all backed by the lush Nevis Peak. Late 2019 unveiled a heavily refreshed look that replaced classic dark wood and deep colors with white-painted wood and beachy shades like coral, sand, and seafoam. Rooms are full of natural light, contemporary beach decor, and huge flat-screen TVs. The property is expansive with a spa (ask to receive your treatment inside one of the gingerbread cottages) featuring daily group exercise classes and a pool circuit, nine tennis courts that sport three different types of turf, two pools, and three restaurants.
Included in the budget: We’ve used rates for an Ocean View Room and added roundtrip transfers from St. Kitts airport — but that’s it. You’ll have about $1500 to cover your meals, drinks, and hopefully a spa treatment and at least one day of renting out a beach cabana. Bonus: If you’re flying in from NYC, flights are cheaper, so you’ve got a little extra wiggle room in the budget to play around once you’re at the resort. We recommend trying out their new rum tasting experience, signing up for a hot sauce making class, and feasting on their Lobster Night set menu.
For $3,500: 10 Days at Ramon’s Village Resort in Belize
Beach at the Ramon’s Village Resort/Oyster
Been there and done that in Mexico? Then take the plunge and head just a little further south into Belize. This place is absolutely stunning. Don’t believe us? The water is so gorgeous here that Belize Blue was named the Pantone Color of the Year in 2020, and rumor has it that Belize’s island of San Pedro is the la isla bonita that Madonna was singing about back in the day. However, don’t expect too many frills. Much of Belize’s beauty lies in the fact that it’s low-key and rustic — both factors that make it great for that laid-back beach vacation we always say we want to take but never do. Some must-do activities while you’re here include snorkeling, cage-free swimming with sharks, visiting the tiny and magical island of Caye Caulker, hopping aboard a sunset cruise, and, if you’re a diver, a visit to the famous Blue Hole.
Ramon’s Village Resort
The Pool at the Ramon’s Village Resort/Oyster
Ramon’s Village Resort has one of the widest stretches of beachfront on San Pedro and it’s the only resort that’s close to the action in town. Rooms are located in thatched-roof duplexes and have AC but no TVs (however, you can watch the sunset from your balcony). Polynesian tiki decor runs resort-wide and adds to the island vibe. The on-site restaurant serves all meals and a bar offers up coffee drinks, smoothies, and juice by the pool. There’s also a reputable and affordable dive shop located on the end of the hotel dock for anyone who wants to get out into the warm turquoise waters.
Included in the budget: We’ve included the cost of the hotel room and return domestic flights from Belize City to San Pedro in our budget. The rest of the budget is for meals, drinks, and some activities.
For $2500: 5 Days in Aruba at Barcelo Aruba
View at the Barcelo Aruba/Oyster
Travelers looking for a break from the typical tropical vibe and constant humidity that comes with most Caribbean beach vacations should head to Aruba. Somewhat of an outlier for the region, this small island has an arid climate and is covered in succulents. Don’t worry, this desert island still has palm trees, fantastic beaches, and plenty of stuff to keep you busy should you ever tire of catching sun on the sand. For starters, the frequent tradewinds are great for kitesurfing and windsurfing, hiking and ATV rides in Arikok National Park are adventurous land activities, and there’s a fun pirate ship snorkel tour that visits a shipwreck. Shopping and restaurants are abundant in the downtown area. Check out colorful murals and sculptures throughout the artsy neighborhood of St. Nicolas, and you can learn a but about the island’s Dutch colonial history at its museums. There’s also an ostrich farm, flamingos, and a good ol’ rum tour. The best part? Aruba is outside of the hurricane belt, so you can visit year-round.
Barcelo Aruba
The Pool at the Barcelo Aruba/Oyster
Barcelos Aruba is an upscale all-inclusive whose biggest boon is its stellar location right on the stunning sand of Palm Beach. The only downside is that you’ll likely have to work some strategies to secure your beach chairs. Rooms are spacious and simple but sophisticated with tile floors, dark wood furniture, and white walls. You’ll get AC, a balcony, and comfy beds. There are seven restaurants on-site and three well-placed bars: one at the pool, one on the beach, and one in the lobby. The lagoon-style pool (and its swim-up bar) is a popular spot during the day, while nights are pretty relaxed. If you want to bump up your experience, spend a little more to upgrade to the resort’s Royal level. You’ll get free Wi-Fi, a special check-in lounge, access to top shelf liquor at the beach bar, and free room service.
Included in the budget: Since Barcelo Aruba is an all-inclusive property, there’s not much you have to worry about once you walk through the doors. You’ll get all your meals, drinks (including domestic beer, wine, and well liquor), and free rein of the resort’s pool and beach area. However, any money you spend at the casino will cost you extra.
For $1000: 3 Days in Mexico at Royal Hideaway Playacar
Beach at Royal Hideaway Playacar/Oyster
It’s no secret that we love Mexico, especially Riviera Maya, so of course we’ve worked out a way to have a luxe Mexican beach vacation without breaking the bank. Take a long weekend and head south of the border where you’ll have a quick escape full of warm water, sandy beaches, and excellent eats. Playa del Carmen is a bustling beach town with a long pedestrian-only promenade, tons of bars and restaurants, and a big, beautiful beachfront. It’s true that it’s very heavy on tourists, but there’s also some great unique activities, like an immersive dinner at the Frida Kahlo Museum that uses dishes and video mapping to tell the story of the artist’s life, or a beer walking tour with local guides. The resort we’ve picked is just an 11-minute drive from the action on Quinta Avenida (note: we didn’t include this transfer in the budget).
Royal Hideaway Playacar
The Main Pool at Royal Hideaway Playacar/Oyster
In Riviera Maya, it can feel like all-inclusive resorts are a dime a dozen, but Royal Hideaway Playacar stands out in the crowd. This adults-only beachfront property has a beautiful and calm beachfront setting and an excellent food and beverage program featuring six reservations-only gourmet restaurants, a Chef Table experience, and included top-shelf alcohol. Live in luxury as you move between the beach, the spa, three bars, and six pools. For a more active experience hop on the free non-motorized water sports, sweat it out in the gym, or get competitive in the daily activities.
Included in the budget: Since the budget for this trip is so low, there’s not a lot of extra money to play with this time. However, as this is an all-inclusive, most of your bases are covered. The budget includes room rate, all meals, all drinks (top shelf, baby!), and transfers. Searching for dates that fall on the lower end of the room rate or flight price range will give you more wiggle room, or you can just park it by the pool with a stack of books and unlimited cocktails.

We disembarked at Marrakech airport bringing our completely dismantled bicycle and all of our packed luggage. It was late April, spring in Morocco and we arrived on a hot day with fine drizzle.
We stayed in Marrakech for a few days to bring the bike alive again and explore this city full of life.
The city has two main points of mechanical support for those who travel by bicycle, the Atlas Sport and Pikala bike. We stayed first in a couchsurfing and later in a hostel (Riad Itry), located inside the Medina.
From the tourist point of view the old part of the city, or Medina, is where most of the attractions are. In this tangle of small streets, which form a real labyrinth, are several shops, restaurants, museums, spices and many different and curious things. To explore these alleys full of people and motorbikes passing fast among all is an adventure. We did our walking tours as we found it easier and calmer than by bike.
Queríamos chegar as “portas do Sahara” e então traçamos nosso roteiro passando pelas montanhas do Alto Atlas sentido Merzouga. We wanted to reach the “gates of the Sahara” and then we traced our route through the mountains of the High Atlas towards Merzouga.
Tumblr media
This stretch surprised us, the landscapes, vegetation and climate change a lot. Cultural differences between the populations of the Marrakesh regions, the Atlas Mountains and the desert region of Merzouga are also noticeable.
Getting out of Marrakech by bike, just like any big city, is a bit annoying. We chose a Sunday morning, when the movement of vehicles is smaller. The city is not that big either, and as we stepped away from the Medina, everything became calmer and after we entered the N9 national route, our journey was quiet to our first stop, the city of Ait Ourir, just 37 km far from Marrakesh.
Ait Ourir is a small, quiet town on the banks of the Oued Zat river. At the entrance of the city we saw a green area by the river with lots of trees and families playing, we thought that should be a nice place to camp and we decided to go there.
At the end of the afternoon we met Karim, who was selling popcorn. We bought 1 popcorn and decided to ask about camping there, he said it was possible but with some caveats, at night there might be people walking around, making noise and using alcoholic drinks and asked us to follow him to a safer place next to his home and so we did. Arriving there he showed us a quiet place beside a tree. We put our tent there and in the evening he came back with some friends for tea and smoking hookah. We had a very quiet night there.
From this stretch onwards begins an ascent that goes from 500 to 2260 meters of altitude, until crossing the mountains of High Atlas.
Tumblr media
From Ait Ourir to the top of the High Atlas there are about 80 km and we took two days to do. On this path the landscapes grew greener, flowering and beautiful as we went up. There are many olive trees and producers of olive oil, the smell of olive oil perfumed our course. We camped wild at gas station, restaurant and were invited to spend a night at the home of a Berber family, all very wonderful.
Before we started the descent of the High Atlas we stopped by an olive grove and asked the owner if we could camp there, he said yes and later returned with his brother offering us a room in their hotel, which was just ahead. The legendary Berber hospitality again present. In the morning we were invited to a breakfast.
Tumblr media
We continued along the national route N9 going down the Atlas and stopped at the city of Ait Ben Haddou, which has an old fortified historical city, which they call Kasbah, and we went to visit. The place is incredible, with a landscape that made us travel back in time.
In Ouarzazate we visited the Cinema Museum and entered the national route N10 towards Tinghir. In this way we had more great experiences. In the town of Skoura we visited another famous and very preserved Kasbah and in the town Kalaat M’Gouna we were surprised by the annual festival of flowers, entitled to a scent of roses throughout the city and presentation of various folk groups. We were lucky to get there at the right season.
Near the town of Tinghir we completed 7000km pedaled on our trip and we continue alternating paid campings with wild campsites. At one of our wild campsites in the morning when we disarmed the tent we had the surprise of finding a scorpion underneath it.
In the town of Goulmima, camping, we met a couple of French cyclists, Philippe and Maryse (www.lovelevelo.travelmap.net), with whom we would be happy to share a few more days of our trip. On the day we met them they invited us to dine with them, with delicious Moroccan wine.

Over the next few days, as we advanced along the national routes 10, 12 and 13 towards the city of Merzouga, the “doors of the Sahara,” the landscape grew more and more dry and the heat increased, reaching 43C while we rode. In this route we passed other very interesting places, such as those that had abundant fossils, very common in this region.
Coming close to the city of Merzouga it was already possible to observe the huge sand dunes of the Sahara desert. We stayed at a campsite located practically at the beginning of the desert. The choice was good as it was only an hour’s walk from one of the highest dunes in the area, but the winds there are strong and by the end of the day our tent was full of sand.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Visiting a little piece of the Sahara was an experience we loved. Everything very beautiful, especially from the top of the great dune, where in the middle of that vast sand were several caravans of camels passing, so small down there.
Morocco surprised us every day and we were enjoying cycling through this country so different to us. In the continuation of this post we will talk about the northern course.

Weekend Street Journey To Caborca, Sonora Mexico By Jim Labelle
If you're looking to go on vacation however have no idea the place to go, then how about Mexico where you'll be able to leave the country, however will not should travel abroad. The State of Texas Division of Public Safety advised towards "spring break travel wherever in Mexico." Suggesting as a substitute, places like Bahamas, Belize and Jamaica, all of them having much increased murder rates. 2. Mérida - Simply 4 hours from Cancun, this metropolis is situated near a number of Mayan sites and has an attractive historic middle. They may not have had spacious quarters for his or her Lord to be born once more in the Holy Eucharist, but their grand hearts adored Him, simply as His Mom, St. Joseph, the Angels, and the shepherds did that time, way back, when the world modified in Bethlehem. Mexico has so many lovely seashores and settings that can be capable of give you the perfect in leisure while being no trouble in any respect. The beaches that line the coastline deliver people in from all over the world for the sun and the miles of sentimental, white sand. The above mentioned beach resorts are just some of the many that may be present in Mexico. A visa is an authorization that is issued by a selected country, permitting you to visit there, often during a particular period; presently round 80 nations worldwide require US residents to have a visa. A number of tickets and deals might be marked down up to 85% throughout many months, and journey companies and vacation companies will present these prices and promotions 12 months round. You can look at the tours discovered by these three companies by visiting their on-line web sites or by requesting free travel brochures. The Mexican federal government has despatched within the army, but it surely has just turned a two celebration brawl into a three get together warfare. And anti-oxidants principally are good for us as an inhibitor of most cancers cell development amongst other claims. Posole is constructed from dried entire kernels of corn and is the Mom process for all corn in Mexican food merchandise made out of masa. US-80 will take you through the majority of this trip which affords extra varied cultural experiences than you're likely to get in every other U.S. cross nation trip. Perdido Key visitors in the fall also can benefit from the Great Gulf Arts Festival, where hundreds of local artists come together to have a good time their creative endeavors. Canada and different nations issue advisories about touring to the United States all the time. Farmers and peasants, without weapons aside from pitchforks, knives and the like, rallied spherical Hidalgo, and marched on the cities and villages of Mexico. At Deep Creek State Park fishing is sweet and so is looking, however for that it's important to follow sure rules, get hold of a license and look forward to the season. You will want to go browsing and get Mexican insurance coverage on your automobile or RV, depending on how you may be traveling, earlier than you leave in your journey. Simple, they do not have Mexican made products they'll sell they usually wish to be the primary to hold a new American beverage. The people visit the graves or mausoleums of their relatives and so they place elaborate floral arrangements and candles on them. 7. Cancún - While some prime city officers of this famous vacationer vacation spot have been tied to drug gangs, guests don't have anything to be afraid of here. Glide from a palm-bordered sandy seaside into the nice and cozy, greenish blue waves of the peaceful Pacific at Puerto Vallarta. That is why it's nice for single vacationers to search out cruise buddies. There are areas that are known as vacationers points of interest and then there are other areas that tourists are advised to stay away from. Beachgoers have the chance to expertise great shelling, swimming, kayaking, windsurfing and the occasional dolphin and sea turtle nesting sightings.Perhaps nothing defines Bonita Springs like the seashores and the clear water which are simply steps away from the sand. About essentially the most preferred activities, in all of Mexico, for senior citizens is guided excursions. Sharing dinners and other tour fees is simpler over the course of the get-away, and reserving your food or opting for a all-inclusive deal may also help reduce on expenses even more. Mexico property house owners in Huatulco are the perfect hosts that you would ever discover and in an effort to increase their warmth to the tourists, they're providing luxury rental leases. You can even choose a package which will take you to completely different areas around Mexico. Take a drive by means of the Mexican jungle the place you'll be able to discover historic Mayan ruins, go to an interactive zoo the place you'll be able to maintain and feed many various animals such as spider monkeys, spiders and even crocodiles, take lunch with the iguanas and take a cooling swim within the jungle cenotes. The standard passport e-book cost for an grownup who is getting one for the primary time is $100.00 from a pass port agency ( ). An grownup can get a card for greater than half the worth at $forty five.00 for the same 10-yr life span the passbook lasts for. In the present day the state has made tremendous progress in dairies, farming and only water is scarce, but natives are doing all the pieces to reserve it, earlier than New Mexico turns into a desert. Some popular conventional New Mexican dishes are Carne Adovado, which was developed initially by the Spanish as a strategy to preserve pork after butchering. Organizing a vacation to Mexico throughout a busy interval could still carry a number of added choices. "Where could I get a chunk to eat?" you surprise... Mexico has and will at all times be an essential and strategic market for any meals or beverage product for wherever on the planet. We're hearing increasingly how our kin can affect us bodily, how our genetics have an effect on us. Many people now wish to know all about their household's well being historical past so they are going to know what diseases or medical problems they could face as they get older or in order that they will provide this household history to their physician. Many people are unaware that their U.S. auto insurance coverage protection will not shield them if an accident occurs on the Mexican aspect of the border. (somewhere in the back of your thoughts, your guardian's words- or mine- appear, "There ain't no free lunches in this world") However, "Looks good", you assume, and accept. You would possibly be able to get away with seventy two hours but that's pushing it. You'll in all probability be left disenchanted for those who attempt to get your seats the day of your tour, particularly if you're starting from Williams or Flagstaff, and remember, in case you are in those cities, you must think about an hour's drive to get to your examine in level at 6 am. The resort differs from different resorts in that it doesn't have a Mexican theme. The opposite trip, which is considered extra "deluxe," starts with an airplane experience to Page and a Jeep tour to Antelope Canyon prior to rafting. Remember, these are excessive-end excursions that offer outstanding comfort and five-star cuisine in a very distinctive atmosphere, so anticipate to pay accordingly. It is, in actual fact, more harmful to visit Disney World of Orlando than Cancun or Puerto Vallarta, reports Reid. The economy here revolves across the space generally known as the Resort Zone, further south the Maya Riviera and naturally Playa del Carmel with the island of Cozumel because the Yucatan's chief cruise ship port. Our authorities also warns that the southern Mexican state of Chiapas might not be a major vacationer locale as there are armed rebels and gangs in many areas.
