guys if one more person sends me a five paragraph essay about wheatley im going to explode, this quite literally is the third time this has happened. im not going to bother responding because i have said my piece before--nothing i said is up for discussion, i was talking about canon evidence of things that happened. i wasnt talking subjectively or trying to open discussion to theory, and im never gonna change my mind because there is just nothing to change my mind on. if you really do think that wheatleys character is that different than I do, thats fine whatever but im seriously not going to delve into this AGAIN. i have said all i have wanted to say about him. im being aggressive about my point because people are trying to argue with me like what i am saying is not canon. which is frustrating because im not stating OPINION, i am laying EVIDENCE on the table. its starting to hurt my head. if you think me giving solid evidence and standing my ground is RUDE, then i dont really care sorry like idk just dont listen to me atp

“Are there any stories where the man is off traveling for a very long time and the woman is happy to stay behind tending the estate?”
Yes! Abigail and John Adams, off the top of my head. And it’s one of the best romances in history. Shonda Rhimes wishes she had written “To Miss Adorable”.
Bridgerton’s idea of acceptable romance and true love is just so narrow and boring.

Tumblr media
You were tired, very tired.
Granted, this was your own doing. Maybe if you hadn't pushed your responsibilities to the side last night you wouldn't have had to wake up so early to study for an exam, but what's done is done. This whole college thing was not going so well, to say the least. Sure, it's only the beginning of the second semester, but you already feel exhausted by all of your class workloads.
Just ten more minutes of this boring lecture and you could finally go home and crawl into bed. But… that's only if you avoid him today. Which now that you’re thinking about it, you hope he isn’t waiting for you outside, again. That would be the last thing you needed today.
With that being said, things have felt a little weird if you were being honest. Of course, this was your first year of university, so things were bound to feel new and different. But there was something, or rather someone that was making you feel strange.
Around two weeks ago you noticed that Wonwoo, an old classmate of yours, had recently started to become a bit friendly towards you. While that normally wouldn’t be considered weird, you couldn’t help but feel skeptical about his intentions. You knew the kind of people he surrounded himself with, and especially the girls he would go after; which was the exact opposite of you. So what exactly did he want from you?
What also makes this situation more odd is that you’ve basically known Wonwoo for your whole life. Of course, you don’t actually know him, you just happened to go to the same elementary, middle, and high school (which is insane if you think about it). Acquaintance is a perfect word to describe your relationship with him, nothing more nothing less. So yeah… it’s a little weird when the guy you have been around for (almost) your whole life is suddenly trying to befriend you, there definitely had to be something wrong with him.
All you knew about Wonwoo was that he was on the more reserved and quiet side; mainly keeping to himself most of the time. His group of friends was quite the opposite of him, which always made you wonder how he even became friends with them in the first place.
Seeing how the lecture was ending soon, you started to pack your stuff; you were more than ready to dash straight out of the classroom. Having finished all of your assignments for today, you had nothing left to worry about. So once the professor had made her goodbyes, you made a straight beeline to the door, nothing was going to hold you back from your long-awaited nap. Your pace was brisk, attempting to avoid the backed-up main exit, you decided to go to the opposite door. The walk back to your apartment wasn’t too bad either, most of the time you saw it as a way to daydream and listen to music. So while you scrolled through your various playlists, you happened to miss the (very obvious) figure following you.
Wonwoo called out your name a few times until it finally dawned on him that you had your headphones on. He took a few long strides to catch up to you; he was very adamant on getting your attention this morning. With ease, he quickly plucked your headphones off of your head.
“What are we listening to today?” He said while adjusting the headphones on his head. It took you a second to fully process what he was doing. You knew he was doing it to provoke you, but you were determined to not let that happen today. So to his surprise, you simply kept walking. You figured that he would continue with his antics if you gave him the reaction that he wanted so you did the opposite, you ignored him.
What shocked him the most was seeing you pull out an old pair of earbuds and plugging them into your phone. He was dumbfounded to say the least, how were you so prepared and why were you ignoring him?
And again, he quickly caught up with a few simple steps. He took your headphones off of his head and tapped them against your shoulder.
With a tired sigh, you turned around to face him but couldn’t help but admire his face. You really didn't want to lose that ‘expressionless’ look you were going for (to help you ignore him of course), but that small smile of his was enough to crack you down. It's like he knew that it was your one weakness when it came to him. This was the most annoying part of it all. Anytime he smiled or looked at you, a tiny part inside you secretly liked it, making you crave his attention at times.
Objectively speaking, Wonwoo was very handsome. That was something you could never deny, you would even go as far as to say that he was your type but you didn't particularly like the people he called his ‘friends’ so you were stuck in a weird limbo.
“Is there something on my face, birdy?”
You scoffed at the nickname. “I told you not to call me that.”
Wonwoo’s eyes were looking straight into yours, a smirk slowly creeping up to his lips. It didn't help that he was looking really good today either, his messy hair combined with the whole biker fit did wonders for your eyes. He was about to say something before you heard your ringtone go off, evidently cutting him off.
Oh.
It was Hyunwoo. That's odd... you finished your shared project with him rather early, what could he be calling you about? Either way, you answered the random call in front of a rather annoyed Wonwoo.
"Hello?"
"Heyyy yn, I was wondering if you wanted to get lunch later today?" You couldn't help but feel your eyes widen at his sudden question. Since when did he want to hang out with you? Last time you checked he had a plethora of girls that he was talking to... maybe he was interested in you? No, you shouldn't get too ahead of yourself...
"Um... let me check if I have anything to do first. Can I call you back?" You knew that you sounded nervous but how else were you supposed to feel when the cute guy from your physics class was literally asking you to eat lunch with him?
As soon as you ended the call, you felt Wonwoo's arm snake its way down to your waist. You couldn’t help but yelp at the sudden intimate contact. Chuckling at your reaction, he leaned down, closer to your ear. “Who was that?”
"No one." You stated simply, it wasn't his business anyway.
"Hm, okay," Wonwoo rested his head on your shoulder, continuing to speak lowly in your ear. "I'll remember that birdy."
Before you could even come up with something to counter him, he decided to speak up once again.
"Well, I do have something rather important to tell you." His voice was so calm and soothing, you could honestly listen to it for hours on end if you had the chance.
"What is it?" You hoped he couldn't sense your rather, embarrassing, curiosity.
"Heard you used to have a little crush on me," his voice was evidently smug, knowing that this would surely get a rise out of you.
Which it did.
Your face burned at the memories of when you used to have a crush on Wonwoo. But, that had to be in fourth grade… so how could he have known about that? Nonetheless, you scoffed at his statement, not wanting to know that you were a little embarrassed by the sudden reminder.
“Key word, had,” you rolled your eyes at him. This did make you curious though, who could have possibly told him that? So you asked him exactly that.
“How do you even know about that?” His smile never faltered even as you lightly pushed his hand away from your waist. If anything, this made him want to touch you even more.
“I have my ways,” he stated simply. Of course, he does. You hated when he would shrug things off, now this was going to bother you for the entire week!
One thing about Wonwoo was that he has always been curious about you, this interest stemming back all the way to your elementary days. This curiosity eventually intensified in junior year of high school when you began to show your blatant distaste towards him. He just had to get to know you.
He looked down at you, his face was unreadable like always. You never knew what was going on in that mind of his.
"Why are you here? Shouldn't you be hanging out with your actual friends?" Sometimes you couldn't help but blurt out your thoughts to him even if they sounded a bit rude. His face faltered for a split second, probably caught off guard by the random question. Shoot, you really didn’t mean to say that out loud. Although, it looks like Wonwoo didn’t take any offense to your sudden question. If anything, it made him... smile?
“I am hanging out with my friend,” he stopped you to face him, “which is you.” You rolled your eyes at him. That had to be the corniest thing he has ever said to you if you were being honest. You just hated that giddy feeling he would give you any time he said something remotely cheesy.
"Ugh, you're so dumb," you groaned while checking the time on your phone. It was getting close to noon and you hadn't responded to Hyunwoo's question from earlier. Maybe it was best if you didn't go... who knows what he wanted from you. If you were being completely honest, you didn't know if you had it in you to see other people at the moment, aside from Wonwoo of course.
"Have somewhere to be?" Wonwoo asked, a hint of concern peeking through his voice.
"No, thank god, but I do have a scheduled nap to get to so if you don't mind-" you were cut off by the sound of an engine revving, making your body jump at the unexpected noise. You turned to see where the source of the commotion was coming from but then realized it was coming from a group of bikers nearby; most likely Wonwoo's friends.
Or so you thought?
Wonwoo didn't seem too pleased with the group that was getting closer to where the two of you were. On the contrary, Wonwoo looked pissed. His jaw was visibly clenched, the gentle grip he had on your waist tightened, and his eyes lost that playful spark he had earlier. You couldn't help but feel guilty for thinking about how hot Wonwoo looked when he was angry. Of course, you would never want to be on the receiving end of his anger but seeing it on the sidelines was quite... interesting.
Wait. This might actually be serious, so it's best if you leave before anything crazy happens.
"I think I'm going to head out now..." you said quietly as you tried to slip away from Wonwoo's (awfully) strong grasp.
He turned to look at you, his eyes softening once they landed on your figure. Why did they have to come and bother him at this exact moment? He knew that whatever was going to happen was not going to be pretty, but he found himself reluctant to let you go.
Before truly letting you go, he quietly asked, "Are you sure? I can take you home if you want me to." As soft as his voice was, he still managed to sound composed which was comforting considering the situation.
You nodded in response, "I don't live that far from here so it's fine, thank you for the offer though." You managed to flash him a small, awkward smile before turning away from him and heading toward the direction of your apartment. You didn't know what exactly was going on between those guys and Wonwoo but it for sure wasn't friendly. Although it wasn't exactly your issue, you couldn't help but feel worried about Wonwoo, even if he was a pain in the ass sometimes.
Tumblr media
Much to your dismay, that scheduled nap never came your way that day.
You blame Wonwoo, how were you supposed to sleep peacefully knowing he was probably getting jumped? Okay, you might be jumping to conclusions but what else were you supposed to think about when he was visibly angry at the mere sight of those guys?
Realistically speaking, it's only been two days since that whole incident happened. Granted, you haven't seen Wonwoo since then but that could mean a lot of things.
[...]
While you were in line to get a smoothie from one of the pop-up shops near the campus, you felt a sudden tap on your shoulder.
"Did my little birdy miss me?" You felt Wonwoo say right next to your ear, his breath fanning across your earlobe. It sent a wave of tingles down your spine, making you shudder in turn. Though you weren't a fan of his spontaneous appearance.
"God, you need to stop doing that! I almost slapped you I swear-" You stopped mid-way once you turned around and saw his face. He had a few cuts on his lips and eyebrows and one big bruise across his cheek. Those guys really did a number on him.
Your eyebrows furrowed in concern, "are you okay?"
He tried to wave it off but you could tell he was bothered by your question, "It's fine, really, don't worry about it." Was he insane? How were you not going to worry when he was visibly injured?
"Were these from the guys on Tuesday?" You couldn't help but ask, where else would he get these cuts and bruises if it didn't come from them?
His demeanor immediately switched and he pushed himself away from you.
"It's none of your business so stay out of it."
"Okay." That was the only thing you said before grabbing your smoothie from the worker and quickly walking away from the shop. If he wanted to be like that then so be it. You most definitely were not going to wait for him to 'open up' by all means, he could throw himself a pity party for all you care.
"Wait-" He tried reaching for your arm but you were too quick for him. Your steps were swift, helping you create a reasonable distance between you and Wonwoo. He called out your name a few times before giving up, he didn't want to gather any unwanted attention from the people nearby. Reaching your pace, Wonwoo was finally close enough to grab your wrist and make you look at him.
"Are you seriously ignoring me?" His voice was a bit jagged, no doubt coming from the unexpected cardio you made him do to catch up to you.
Unfortunately for him, you were petty. "You said it wasn't my business, so please do not talk to me because I really do not care." You brushed past him once again this time making sure he could not grab your arms or wrists.
He exhaled in annoyance, "Look I'm sorry-" Wonwoo was mid-apology before being abruptly cut off by the voice of a guy yelling your name out loud.
Speaking of the devil, what immaculate timing.
"Hey yn! Did you still want to get food after class?" Hyunwoo jogged to where you were standing but saw how Wonwoo was still trying to talk to you.
"Sorry, were you busy with him?"
You instantly responded to Hyunwoo, "No, he was just asking for directions, but yeah I'm down for food." Like before, you made your way towards Hyunwoo, making sure to bump into Wonwoo. He couldn't help but stay frozen in place as he watched you walk to class with some random guy, jealousy slowly invading his mind.
Directions? Did she really...?
As much as Wonwoo wanted to be mad at you, he really had no one to blame but himself. The whole situation with his old group of 'friends' was really getting to him so once you popped that question it just seemed to send him over the edge. He just didn't know how far you would go to express your annoyance towards him. Now all he had to do was find a way to properly apologize to you before that Hyunwoo guy got to you first.
The only thing stopping him? He didn't have your number or any of your socials...

When you two met, he was adamant on showing you around the school, but gave in after multiple pleas from his home teacher. You were a little shy at first and was worried about getting lost, but caught on quickly after being shown around. You started to get the hang of the place and discovered the guy playing volleyball. You played volleyball in elementary school, but grew out of it. You two became friends and one day, he introduced you to his friend group.
They were aloof from you at first, but quickly became pals after hanging out with them. You all decided to goof off one day to pass the time like cracking jokes and imitating random people. One of his friends made a funny noise that made the whole group break out into a laughing fit. Some were coughing and wheezing while others were crying. All except one. Him
Not because the joke was terrible,in fact it was hilarious, but because he was focused on you. Your face lit up like it was as bright as the sun. You hugged herself, holding your stomach so you wouldn’t hack up a lung. But what made him focus on you was your laugh. The way you laughed came out was like angels singing. Your laugh was full of joy and pure mirth. Hearing you laugh for the first time was as if Cupid 's arrow struck his heart.
And he felt it.
He felt the sudden warm feeling in his heart. He tried to ignore it, but hearing you laugh made him happy. He got excited whenever you stopped by the gym to visit. He’d flash you a smile whenever he scores a point in a match. He almost had a heart attack when you joked about becoming the volleyball club's manager. He cried in your arms after losing a game. He always saw you waiting for him by the door after school, walking home side by side. The more you two hung out, the more he felt at ease when he was around you. He felt safe.
From that moment on, he said to himself, ‘That’s her. That’s the girl I’m gonna marry’.

—————————————————————————
Just like every other Friday night, you were at your best friend Heeseung’s dorm. It has been a tradition, for you and Heeseung to get together every weekend, and watch a marathon of Friday the 13th. But tonight was a little different, instead of focusing on the movie, you both were engrossed in the conversation you guys were having about the latest drama on campus.
“Wait so Jake really fucked Sara?” Heeseung said bewildered, before taking a big sip from his soda.
“I can’t make this shit Hee, I caught him blowing her back out, on the side of the building” You laughed out loudly, taking a handful of chips, and popping them inside your mouth.
One thing you loved about being around Heeseung, is that you could be yourself, you didn’t have to worry about him judging you because you both felt comfortable around each other.
“Oh, not only that, I heard Selena gave Jay a blowjob inside the bathroom stall” You quoted, that one surprised Heeseung, he knew Jay got around. But he didn’t expect him to get little innocent Selena to give him head.
“You mean like Selena from our math class? No way!” He said, but you just giggled and gave him a knowing look, he couldn’t believe Jay.
“No wonder he was bragging in the gc, talking about how he got his soul snatched or whatever the hell that means” Heeseung said, grabbing the chip bag and taking a handful, before you finish it all, you loved Doritos.
“What you do you mean, what do you mean? Haven’t you had plenty girls slob on your knob” You teased, wiggling your eyebrows and giggling.
But Heeseung remained quiet, a shade of blush appearing on his face as he swallows harshly, his Adam’s apple bobbing. You looked at him confused, did you say something that made him feel uncomfortable? You and him always talked about your sexual experiences so what was the problem tonight.
“You good Hee?” You questioned, leaning towards him to get him to look back at you. He looked back at you, and you could see sweat forming on his forehead, looking like a dear caught in headlights. He sighed, before running his hands through his silky red hair.
“Promise you won’t laugh at me when I tell you this” He said hesitantly, but you could hear the seriousness and vulnerability in his tone.
“Heeseung we’ve been best friends since elementary school, when have i ever judged you?” You said, you were a little offended he thinks you would judge him. He took a deep breath and nodded, biting his bottom lip, before he finally let the words fall off his tongue.
“I-I’ve never had a blowjob before” He blurted out, heat immediately rushing to his face, embarrassment written all over his facial expression. The silence was so loud, as you stared at him with your mouth agape, he had to be fucking with you right now.
“Are you serious Hee?” You finally spoke, swallowing hard and slightly tilting your head to the side to look at him. He sighed once again, before nodding, his innocent bambi eyes letting you know, he’s telling the truth.
“Yeah, I uh, never got to experience how it feels” He chuckled shyly, awkwardly scratching the back of his neck. You on the other hand was baffled, you couldn’t believe Heeseung has not had one girl suck his big cock. The only reason you know it’s big, because you accidentally walked in on him junior year.
“What about when you and that Karina chick was dating, she never went down on you ever. You said, sitting up real quickly, since the conversation was growing more intense and interesting.
“She tried, but as soon as she choked on it, she backed out, and said it was too uncomfortable and she didn’t like the taste. “Wow what a weak bitch” you thought to yourself, if it were you, you would have snatched his soul and made him cum inside your mouth.
Truth is, you always had a crush on Heeseung, ever since you met him, in the 5th grade-you loved him. But the fear of ruining the friendship is what kept you away, you didn’t want to lose the person who truly knows you. But tonight you were feeling risky, the buzzing feeling, from the soju running through your body.
“How about I show you” You blurted out before you could catch yourself. Heeseung quickly whipped his head around, staring at you wide eyed, as he processed the words that just came out of your mouth.
“W-what? What do you mean?” He stuttered, he wanted to make sure he wasn’t losing his damn mind, so he had to hear you repeat your words again.
“I said, I wanna suck your dick, I wanna show you how it feels to get swallowed” You said, smirking at him with your signature mischievous smirk. He could feel his cock jump in the confines of his boxers, holy shit you were fucking serious.
“I-i mean, I would like to” He said, feeling himself growing painfully hard, as you both have a stare off between each other, lust clouding the both of your eyes. Without saying another word, you leaned in, and started kissing his lips slowly.
You moaned inside his mouth, the sweet taste of the cherry cola, still lingering on his lips heightened your senses. You deepened the kiss, climbing onto his lap, your thick body covering his slender one. Heeseung moaned into the kiss, the feeling of your body on top of his, was making him so much harder.
“Fuck Hee, didn’t know you were such a good kisser, should’ve done that sooner” You smirked, rubbing your long acrylics down his toned chest. Heeseung smiled shyly, his eyes hooded with desire, he wanted you so badly it hurts.
You kept eye contact with him, as you trailed your fingers down his chest, until you got to the band of his sweats. You grabbed ahold of the obvious bulge inside his pants, starting to palm his clothed dick. He threw his head back, his mouth agape, as he lets out soft breathless moans.
“Mmm so responsive, so sensitive baby” You purr, climbing off his lap, and coming face to face with his boner, your ass in the air. Heeseung bit his lip harshly, the sight of your plump ass in the air, had him fighting demons. He couldn’t resist, reaching to grab a handful of your ass, squeezing and smacking the fatty flesh.
“Gonna show you, how it feels to get your soul snatched, gonna suck the life out of you” You moaned, tugging down his sweatpants. His hard leaking cock sprang free, his cock twitching and begging for some attention.
“Fuck Heeseung, you’re packing baby” You moaned, grabbing ahold of his thick base, and pumping his cock slowly. Heeseung groaned, his body jolting forward at the mere feeling of your soft palms touching his dick.
“F-fuck, that feels s’good” He said, his words slurring, already drunk off the feeling of you taking care of his body.
“Oh you think that’s good, watch this.” You smirked, moving your hair out of your face, taking the tip of his cock and sucking on it. Like clockwork Heeseung let out a loud moan, his body jolting forward once again, fuck your mouth felt like nothing he’s ever felt before.
“O-oh my god, Y/n…. Shit—baby” He whined, his hands gripping the sheets tightly, as you take him deeper inside your mouth, hollowing your cheeks and bobbing your head. You hummed at the salty taste of his precum, swirling your tongue all around his sensitive tip.
“Fuuuckk, oh god baby—just like that baby girl, so damn good for me” He praised, looking down at you sucking his big cock, your eyes never left his, as you bobbed your head up and down faster. Heeseung felt like the room was spinning, the air was suffocating, and his body temperature was skyrocketing.
You relaxed your throat to take him deeper, his tip kissing the back of your throat. He let out a pathetic whine, his eyes rolling to the back of his head, as feels his soul leaving his body from the feeling of your tight throat.
“Fuck fuck fuckkk, Oh Y/n, Y-your throat feels so fucking good” He cried out, his toes curling, sweat dripping down his forehead, as he feels his peak approaching soon. You moaned around his cock, your tongue circling the tip, and licking inside the slit.
“Fuck my throat baby, feed me that dick” You purr, Heeseung grabbed your hair, holding it in a makeshift ponytail, as he starts to fuck your mouth. The sinful wet sounds of you choking on his cock, echoed throughout his dorm room, he’s pretty sure the people next door knew exactly what was going down in his room.
“Shittt, goddamn Y/n, you gonna make me fucking cum” He cried out, his balls tightening, and his stomach churning in the best way possible. You looked up at him with your pretty brown eyes, your mouth full of his cock, as you took what he gave you like a good girl.
That must have set him off, as he felt his muscles clenching, a wave of heat washed over his body, as held your head in place shooting thick spurts of white cum. He let out a guttural moan, fully emptying out his balls deep inside your throat.
You pulled off his spent dick, opening your mouth, as you showed him his creamy goodness on your tongue. You swirled it around in your mouth a little, savoring the salty bitter taste, before swallowing every last drop. His chest heaved up and down, as he fought to catch his breath, you had truly snatched his soul.
“And that’s how it feels, to get swallowed baby”
A/n: zammmmmnnn, Y/n is a throat goat🤭 ngl I wanna eat his dick rn as well 🥴 reblogs and feedback appreciated!!

Adam Lanza and the Sandy Hook Massacre
Adam Lanza was born on April 22, 1992, in Exeter, New Hampshire, and grew up in Newtown, Connecticut. From a very early age, he showed signs of social difficulties and mental health issues. He was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and reportedly may have also suffered from severe anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders.
During his childhood and teenage years, he attended several schools and was eventually home-schooled by his mother, Nancy Lanza. His social isolation intensified over time.
On December 14, 2012, Adam Lanza killed his mother and then carried out the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, where he murdered 26 people, including 20 children and 6 adults, before committing suicide.

was adam lanza a pedophile?
this is a topic of hot debate. personally i don’t believe it add or subtracts much from his case, but nevertheless people love to discuss it. so let’s discuss!
why do people think he’s a pedophile in the first place? from a young age, lanza had a fascination with violence against children. in elementary school, lanza wrote several stories featuring violence against children.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
later in life, lanza would write a 35-page essay defending pedophilia as part of his college application. in this essay, lanza postulated that pedophile rights were part of the “liberation of children”, and that children should be able to make decisions as adults would. lanza also stated that he believed an “adult-child relationship” could be “beneficial for both parties”.
lanza would expand on this essay on his youtube channel, CulturalPhilistine, in an 8 part series titled “On pedophiles and children”. the transcripts for these videos can be found here
after lanza’s attack on Sandy Hook, police would find notes and basic sketches of scenes for a play called “Lovebound”, written by lanza, on his hard drive. the play would depict a relationship between a 10-year-old boy and a 30-year-old man.
Tumblr media
many users of the forum that lanza was on, Shocked Beyond Belief, seemed to have an impression of him that included him having an attraction to children.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(full sources of picture one and three can be found here and here! these specific screenshots were found from a post by lanzagf.)
so, was he a pedophile? we have no definitive way of knowing, and there’s an equal amount of evidence suggesting that he wasn’t one. when police searched lanza’s hard drive, they found no sexual content featuring children.
it’s well known that lanza was an odd man all around, so perhaps his fascination with violence against children simply came from his “antinatalism” and general violent thoughts rather than an actual attraction to children. maybe the impression that other SBB users had of him came from his awkward personality.
the biggest question, i think, is does it matter?
an article published by the Connecticut Post puts it best—
Dr. Charles Herrick, the head of psychiatry at Danbury Hospital, said it is difficult with the information released to date to know if Lanza's interest in pedophilia had any influence on his behavior.
"The material related to his obsession with mass shootings is far more compelling about what is driving his behavior," he said.
although pedophilia could be a possible motivator of lanza’s attack on Sandy Hook, his fascination with mass shootings—something which appears to be a trend in a lot of mass shooters—is far more relevant. however, the Connecticut Post’s article offers an explanation on how lanza being a pedophile could’ve motivated him to attack Sandy Hook.
[Dr. Fred] Berlin said one could speculate that Lanza, if he had pedophilia tendencies, could have targeted the elementary school in an attempt to eliminate temptation.
"The idea is that someone who has a strong desire for something and they're forbidden to act upon it, they can be angry at the source of temptation," he said. "It's not unreasonable, given what happened. There must have been a tremendous amount of rage inside of him."
as i stated, there’s no definitive way of knowing whether or not adam lanza was a pedophile. either way, i don’t believe it adds or subtracts much from his case, as it does little to change much about his moral character. i don’t believe there’s any point in arguing about something that only serves to make a tragedy more disturbing.
what do you think? was adam lanza a pedophile or not?

CHAPTER 7: THE MORE YOU KNOW
Matt’s POV
My scalp was sore from the amount of bows that had been clipped to my hair. But, I wasn’t complaining–not when I heard her giggling next to me. Her laugh made my brain go numb, I didn’t want to hold back my words out of fear around her like I did with everyone else. If anything–I muttered any thought that had a chance of making her smile.
I liked it when people smiled at me. It felt rewarding. We hadn’t grown very big on YouTube, but our small fan base had all determined I was the ‘quiet’ one. I wasn’t. I had opinions, I just didn’t always know how to voice them. Not when my brain was screaming at me–telling me I sounded stupid.
It was heartwarming to rewatch old videos. Memories that would live indefinitely. But, it was also heart-wrenching. Every single word or sentence I said was always being analyzed by thousands of people. It made my lips seal with uncertainty.
Not around her, though. Not around her.
She made me want to take risks. I would’ve never stayed in my teacher’s house to babysit her kid–too scared of somehow letting chaos pursue. She made me want to stay, she made me want to try new things.
We had tucked-in little Hailey in her small bed awhile ago. She had read to the girl while I sat on the end of the bed, admiring her silky and expressive voice. She was careful with the pages of the kids book, seemingly scared to even leave a single fingerprint.
Curled up beneath my arm, she leans into me on the sofa. My hands wrap around her, rubbing the sweater–my sweater on her arm. She looked perfect in my clothes. It made some territorial part of me relax, even though she wasn’t mine. She at least looked like it.
“Y/n?” I ask. I hear her hum against my chest, her fingers twiddling with the horse pendant hung around my neck. “How do you know Mrs. Evans?” I ask. Her fingers drop the horse pendant, picking it back up hesitantly.
“Well,” she clears her throat. “She uh–she used to teach at my elementary school in the next town over. Her and…her and my mom used to be best friends.” She explains.
Used to. Only her dad was in the house, not a single picture frame on the walls–something my mom was adamant on for making a ‘house’ a ‘home.’
My heart breaks for the girl as I feel her let out a heavy sigh. “I’m sorry.” I say. She shrugs her shoulders. “It was a long time ago, it’s okay.” She responds. Her tone is too even, emotion lacking in her voice. I squeeze her shoulder in, leaning my head on top of hers.
“It’s not okay, that must’ve been so hard. I’m here if you need anything, you know that, right?” She looks up with a semi-smile. I let my eyebrows raise, pushing the question further. “Trust me, I know. I mean–you’re here right now, are you not?” She retorts.
I squint my eyes at her. “Toućhe.” I replied. Her phone rings with a text. She pulls the screen up from her lap. She turns the screen towards me as I let my eyes adjust.
[Era Evans: Almost home. You guys are good to leave whenever, thank you!]
I pat on her shoulder as she stands up. I follow behind as she tip-toes to the door quietly. We both slip our shoes on. I grasp the keys tightly in my hand, preventing the metal from jingling. I open the door as she walks through the threshold. I follow, slowly closing the door with a soft thud.
I turn around, grabbing her hand and pulling her to the car. “Why are you in such a rush!” I hear her say. I push her into the passenger seat, buckling her in as fast as humanly possible. I ran over to the driver’s side, putting the keys in the ignition.
“Because,” the engine sounds as I press my foot onto the gas. “You owe me a date.” I remark. I make a quick glance over, seeing her smile from ear-to-ear. I fight the urge to reach out to her, instead putting the heat on full blast in the cold car. “Holy fuck, my hands are gonna freeze off.” I mutter.
I hear her giggle as I turn down the street. “Here.” She says. She grabs my right hand from the wheel, pulling it. I feel her thighs clamped around my hand, warming it instantly. The butterflies in the pit of my stomach make me swallow thickly as I resist the urge to grab at her warm, clothed thigh.
At least she won’t be able to see how hard I am from my puffer jacket.
“Where are we going anyway? It’s almost ten.” She says. I shrug my shoulders, “Honestly, I didn’t think that far.” I admit. “Matt!” She teases. My name falling from her lips makes me bite my inner cheek harshly in an attempt to distract the blood from rushing downwards even more.
I want her to be mine so bad. So bad, it hurts. I pull my hand out from her thighs. “Thank you, that really helped.” Yeah, really helped me get a fucking boner. I clench and unclench my hands on the steering wheel, debating where to take her.
It’s freezing–there’s no way she’s gonna want ice cream. Nearly nothing is open.
“I can see you overthinking, Matt. Anything is fine. There’s always more opportunities on our second date.” I hear her laughter stop at the end of her sentence. “--not that I’m saying we have to–”
I place my hand on her knee, snapping my eyes to hers at the stop sign as an idea flickers into my head. “I want a second date, trust me.” I confess. I see a slight pink hue paint on her face. My lips curl into a smile.
I pull into the parking lot, seeing it nearly barren besides cars parked underneath the streetlights.
“Stay in the car while I run into the store real quick? I really want it to be a surprise. I’ll be so fast–I promise.” I quickly say. I look over, seeing her lips quiver as she slaps her hand over her mouth. Her muted laughs muffle through her hand before she clears her throat.
“Mhm, yep. I’ll stay-” I start getting out of the car, leaving the keys in the ignition with the heat blasting from the AC. “Wait! Your keys!” She announces. I shake my head at her. “I’ll be quick. Stay warm!” I sing, shutting the door softly.
I hope she loves this.
_
Y/n’s POV
I stayed in the car until Matt came back. He placed a plastic bag in the backseat, breathless as he started driving. “You good there?” I tease. He nods his head, holding up a finger to give him a minute. I laugh at his heavy pants, the roads starting to look familiar.
“I was thinking we could pop open the trunk, or we could do it in my bed–wait.” I screech, laugh hysterically as his face cringes. “---not like that, I swear! It’s just cold and we’re gonna need our hands-FUCK!” He slams his hands down with frustration.
My gut clenched in pain as I felt tears cloud my vision. When’s the last time I cried from laughing so hard? I hear his laugh synchronize with my own. I wrap my hand around his arm, leaning my head onto his bicep. “Let’s go to yours so you're not freaking out about giving me hypothermia the entire time.” I retorted.
I feel his head nod against my own. “Yeah,” he turns down the street, his house coming into view. “--you’re right.” He lets out.  He parks the car on the street in front of his house. I hear a click and the sound of him unclicking my seatbelt as I sit up straighter.
He gets out of the car as I attempt to do the same. Pushing and tugging on the handle, the door doesn’t budge. I see his face prop down at eye level through the window, giving me a disapproving look. He put the child lock on. My jaw drops at the realization as I sit back in my seat, waiting for him to open the door.
I feel the cold wind rush in through the door as he opens it. His dry chuckle as he holds out an open hand. I slide my hand in his, standing up next to him. He guides us to this door, muffling his laugh as I drag my feet with embarrassment.
He drops his hold on me, unlocking the door. “Ya know,” I say, watching him jiggle the metal in the lock. “--I can open my own door, I don’t need help.” I remark.  He twists the knob, opening the door wide. I walk in the house, sliding my shoes off by the row of others. He does the same, shrugging his coat off and hanging it on the rack.
“Here.” He reaches out, helping pull the coat off my arms and hanging it on his own. I look over to the couch, seeing Nick and a brown-haired girl on the couch. They turn around, Nick waving at me.
“This is Madi. Madi, this is Y/n. Otherwise known as your replacement.” I furrow my eyebrows at his explanation, looking back at Matt who shakes his head, covering his face with his hands. My eyes wander back to the couch, watching as Madi rolls her eyes.
“Dude, we dated in freshman year for a week!” Her doe eyes wander back to me as she gives me an un-entertained look. “Trust me, you have nothing to worry about.” I nod at her statement, awkwardly shifting my weight between my feet.
“That’s enough of whatever the fuck this is–bye!” Matt waves. He grabs my hand, the plastic bag crinkling in his other. “--sorry about that. Nick likes to tease us about it, even after nearly four years or however long it’s been.” He mumbles.
Our feet patter on the floor, stopping in front of his door as he swings it open. He pushes me gently with his palm on the small of my back.  I let myself sit down on the edge of his bed, the cushy mattress sinking in from my weight.
“Close your eyes for me.” He mentions. I let my vision go dark as he flips on the light. I hear his footsteps and ruffling of the bag before something is placed in my hands. A box. “Okay, okay. Look!” I open my eyes, looking down at the multi-colored box with confusion.
“What is it?” I ask. I hear Matt gasp, taking the box and flipping it to the other side. “Only the best thing in the world! It’s Legos!” He replies. The excitement radiates off of him, making my skin pulse with anticipation.
“Oh!! I’ve always wanted these!” I peel the box back into my hands, looking closely at the blocks stacked into various small animals. It has frogs of all different colors. I squeal in excitement as I hand him back the box. “Open it! Open it!” I urge. He turns around, pulling a pair of scissors out from his desk and slicing off the tap, pulling the cardboard open.
He walks over, dumping a pile of plastic filled bags in the center of his bed. I crawl up to the head of the bed, feeling his weight pull my body down to his as our thighs brush together. The jeans on my thighs rub on my skin, creasing into my stomach discomfitingly. “Oh, and…” He reaches down to the plastic store bag, pulling out flannel pajama pants. Blue and green pattern the material as he looks at the tags, handing me one. “--matching PJs!”
The soft material against my hands makes my smile grow as I fling myself into my arms. “You didn’t have to! Thank you! This is all so sweet!” I bring my hand up, ruffling his hair as he scrunches his nose. I pull back, looking into his eyes as his hands grip onto my hips. His lips are slightly parted, his breath fans onto my lips as I start closing the distance.
I just wanna feel his lips on mine.
I watch as his eyes flutter closed, his face becoming soft. My heart races in my chest as his hands squeeze my hips. Our lips brush in a soft kiss, a smacking noise sounding from the subtle movement. I lean back in as I feel him smile against me.
His hand curls around the back of my neck, pulling me closer to him. Our lips tangle with passion, a flood of adrenal shooting through my body as my hips plead to move against him. I pull away breathlessly, watching his eyes slowly open to meet mine. “Lego time, motherfucker.” I say.
He grins up at me. I go to move, but his hands lock on my hips in a desperate grip. I look up, seeing his head thrown back and his mouth ajar. “Fuck.” he hisses. The single word sends shots of electricity straight down to my core as I freeze. “--’m sorry, here.” He pulls me off of him, lifting my hips above before sliding me over.
I sit next to him, watching as he adjusts with a pillow over his lap. “I’m surprised you didn’t ask me to help you.” I joke. He gives me a tight-lipped smile, shaking his head. “I want this night to be special–not like that.” he explains.
My hands grip each other in my lap as I feel my breath stutter from my lips. “I’m serious–I don’t want that from you. Wait–well, I’m gonna shut up.” He blushes. I laugh at his sudden change. “I’ll change in the bathroom, you should get in your pjs with me!” I nod, watching him walk off with the flannel pants.
I take off my pants, letting them fall to the floor and pulling on the soft material over my legs. My skin rubs gingerly against the fabric. I let out a sigh of relief as Matt knocked from the bathroom door. “Ya decent?” I let out a hum, watching as he walks out with the matching pants.
He walks around, sitting on his side of the bed. His side.
I smile, catching the thought with admiration. A flutter of butterflies swarms my gut as I watch him pull the direction packet out of the box.
He reaches out, handing me a manual. I open the packet, analyzing the directions. I hand him a bag, directing him as he shoves pieces into my hands. “Come on, it’s no fun just reading the directions.” he reasons. I squint my eyes at him, taking the pieces and placing them in the correct places, as shown.
_
A calm had settled over us as we focused on building the miniature frogs. There were a handful of colors. Green, blue, yellow, and orange. All bright and vibrant. He played soft music on his phone in the background. I placed the final piece of my second frog. “Done!” I remark.
Matt looks up with a smile, holding up his own. “Me too!” he says. I let the laugh escape my mouth, admiring his pure excitement. “Which colors do you want?” I look up at him with questioning eyes. “You’re taking two, pick which colors.” He directs.
“Are you serious?” He nods. I look at the four frogs, then back up at him. “Which two do you want?” I ask. He shrugs. “Whichever ones you don’t.” I roll my eyes at his response, shaking my head with a soft laugh.
“No, tell me–” He cuts me off. “If you don’t pick, you’re keeping all of 'em.” He says, a serious tone layered in his voice. I point to the green and blue.
He happily places them in my hand as I cradle the small objects. “Thank you.” I say. He nods his head, clearing the bed of materials. “Thank you.” He says. I furrow my eyebrows at him, watching as he pulls the frogs from my hand, placing them on his nightstand. “For what?” I ask.
He turns back around, his eyes gleaming down into mine. I feel his hands grip my own, his breath fanning ever-so-slightly across my face. “Doing this with me–just being here. I really appreciate you.” My eyes well up from his kind words, my lips forming into a pout. “Matt.” I breathe out.
“Just–come here.” He holds out his arms. I let my body fold onto his, his arms swarming around me in a secure hold. A tear sneaks out the corner of my eye, falling into my hair. “That was the sweetest thing you could’ve said–oh my god, I’m trying so hard not to cry right now.” I laugh.
I pull myself up, propping my elbow on the bed. I feel him grab my wrist, stopping me from whipping the stray tears. He takes his own hand, swiping under my eyes. “Don’t. Don’t hold back around me, please.” I let the cry escape my lips as I nod. I fall back onto his chest, hugging my arms tightly around him as he does the same.
His palm caresses the back of my head. My tears soak into his shirt as I let out small sniffles. It’s more comfortable than my bed, it’s more comfortable than his soft purple sweater. I feel my insecurities shrink, the volume of my anxiety quieting as his arms engulf me.
To lose this feeling, to lose him would hurt in a way I had never experienced before. What would it be like to lose someone that I know I could love?
“Matt?” I hear him hum from above me. “We better be going on that second date.” I laugh. His chest shakes from beneath me. “I was really hoping you’d say that.” He replies.
He pulls me closer, his lips pressing against my scalp softly. I hum at the sensation, letting myself curl further into his embrace. I let my eyes close, feeling as he shifts underneath me.
The sound of a bang makes my eyes shoot open. “Fuck.” Matt mutters, huffing with annoyance. I look up, seeing one of his shoes thrown towards the door. The bottom print of the shoe marks the wall with dirt, right below the light switch.
I laugh, watching as he grabs his other shoe from the floor. He squints one eye while lining his aim. He lets the shoes go, the room becoming pitch black at the sound of a bang on the wall. “There, now come here.” He says, nuzzling his arms tighter around me.
I let my body fall limp, his thumb drawing circles on my arm.
_
Waking up, a thin layer of sweat covered me as I felt my body being pushed into the mattress. I blow the hair out of my face, looking down to see Matt directly on top of me. His head rests on my chest, soft snoring escaping his lips.
The sunlight streaks through the blinds, his hair looking irresistibly soft. I let my hands reach up, tangling in his scalp as he lets out a groan. “Goodmorning.” He says. His voice made my stomach clench at the depth of his tone, rough and groggy. He hums in contentment.
“What the..?” He lifts his head up. His wide eyes meet my gaze. I watch his cheeks turn pink, pushing his head back down onto my breasts.
“--’s fine, I don’t wanna get up yet.” I voice. He lays tense before leaning back onto me. My nails groom through his hair. He lets out a long sigh. “That feels so good.” He whispers. I smile, ruffling his hair playfully.
“I bet those bows hurt, hm?” I tease. He looks up, nodding at me. “Yes–but, how could I say no?” He says. I laugh, nodding in agreement. “You looked cute with bows.” I compliment. He smiles up at me with innocent eyes. “Really?” He asks.
I laugh at his question. “You look cute now, goof.” I replied. He nuzzles his head back onto my chest, humming in content. “We look cute–especially in our matching pajamas.” He mentions. I hum in agreement.
“We’re hanging out the rest of the day, right?” He asks. I let the giggle push past my lips. “Matt! You’re gonna get sick of me!” I remark. “Nuh-uh. I could never. I think I could lay here forever.” He says softly. His hand slides up my waist, directly underneath my breast while his thumb soothes back and forth.
“Chocolate chip pancakes?” He asks as he looks up at me. I quickly nod my head, immediately going to move. He pins me down with his body weight, flushed cheeks heavily apparent. I go to question him, but my mouth stops as he shakes his head. “--give me a minute.” He mutters.
I realize he shifts, a hard bulge prodding at my leg as he readjusts.
_
My stomach was full from pancakes. We had made enough for his entire family, setting them out on the counter for when the household members would wake up. His hand held mine as we sat side-by-side on the couch.
“What’s your dad like?” He asks. I tense at the question, not even understanding how to begin to answer.
“Uhhhh…I don’t know, he’s just my dad?” I say. Matt gives me a questioning look. “He works for the school district? I don’t know–what do you want to know about him?” I push. Matt shrugs, scratching his jawline.
“Well,” he starts. “--what do you guys typically do together? My dad takes us all fishing sometimes.” He explains, shrugging his shoulders.
“We’re not really that close, I guess? He works a lot.” I opt out. I mean, he does. Matt nods his head.
“Can I ask you something?” I nod. “--and I want you to be honest, okay?” I continue bobbing my head up and down, nerves flooding my body as his eyes meet mine.
“Why did it hurt when I barely touched your hair the other day? Why did you lie about it?” He asks. My stomach churns, my hand becoming clammy in his.
I clear my throat, my eyes leaving his. “Matt, I-,” I start.
“Did he do it?” He cuts off. My eyes flicker back up to him as I sigh. “He didn’t mean to--actually.” He gives me an unconvinced look, shaking his head with a clenched jaw. “--I’m serious! He’s trying to stop drinking, he grabbed onto my hair by accident.” I emphasize.
Matt grasps my hand tighter, pulling it to his mouth as he plants a kiss on it. “You can’t be living like that. That’s not okay.” He states. I know it’s not okay, but I’m not ready to give up on him. It’s gonna hurt.
“I know, Matt. He’s been making progress.” I explain. Matt sighs. “You’re welcome here anytime. Please just—please call me if you ever need anything.” His blue eyes seep into mine. “--please.” He finishes.
I nod my head, squeezing his hand reassuringly. “I’ll try–I don’t know why, but asking for help is just….it’s just hard.” I express softly.
His lips tug into a smile. “I know, but it’s good to get out of your comfort zone. Speaking of–what’s your first task for your list?” He asks.
I lick over my lips, prodding my tongue in my cheek. “Honestly–I’m really scared of having my nails done.” I joke.
“Ha-ha.” Matt says in a flat tone. He grabs my hand, looking down at my nails. “I’ll paint them if ya tell me something that’s on your list?” He offers. I nod my head, watching as he stands up.
_
“Don’t look! I want it to be a surprise!” He warns. I giggle, keeping my head turned to the side. I feel the wetness on my fingernails as he blows air onto my hand. I feel him press softly into the painted nail.
“They’re dry! Here, now you can look.” He says. I whip my head around, bringing my hands up to my face with a gasp. They’re painted a pastel blue. The edges are neat, not a single drop of paint staining my cuticles.
“Thank you, they’re perfect!” I remark, pulling him into a hug. I make sure to keep my fingers flared up to the air, unsure of how the polish works.
Matt hugs me back tightly before I pull back, admiring the nails once more. He laughs at my reaction. “They’re all dry, but I would be careful.” I nod at the directions, taking a mental note.
“So,” he starts. “What’s first to-do on your list?” He asks. I suck in my bottom lip. He massages my hand in his as I let my mind wander to depths I typically avoided.
“I don’t know…” he gives me a knowing look as I huff. “Promise you won’t judge?” I ask. He separates his hand from mine, pulling out my pinky and looping it into his own. I laugh at the innocent gesture as he squeezes my hand back into his grip.
“I pinky-promise. Now, start talking, sweetheart.” His accent is thick as the name rolls off his tongue. My cheeks feel hot as I let my eyes wander down to our intertwined hands. My fears and doubts fade as his thumb grazes over the back of my hand.
I look up, meeting his piercing gaze. His lips are tugged into a reassuring smile as I bite the inside of my cheek gently. “I-uh…I’ve always wanted to go to the playground, I guess? I just–I didn’t really get to go a lot as a kid, but I feel weird going as an adult.” I let out a nervous laugh.
My brain swarms with thoughts as I anticipate his response. “Oh!” I gasp, an idea flickering in my head. “--I’ve always wanted to color in a princess coloring book, I never got one as a kid.” I explain. His blue orbs meet mine, squinting from his cheeks curling up from his light smile. “--sorry, we don’t have to do–” he cuts me off, leaning in. His nose brushes against mine, his breath fanning over my lips.
“Good thing I have a printer, hm?” My eyes light up with excitement as I watch him reach over, pulling open his nightstand drawer. He pulls out a colored pencil box as I shift my shoulders with anticipation. “Here, find a couple pictures you like while I go do something, okay?” He says.
I nod, hesitantly grabbing his phone as he sets it in my hands. “It’s 2-5-8-3.” My fingers type the code, the phone unlocking.
_
Matt held the array of papers in his hand as he grabbed me by the hand, looping it around his arm and leading me into his neighborhood park. It wasn’t far from his house, but he had insisted on driving. His other hand held a blanket and a tote bag. He had refused to tell me what was inside of it, the curiosity eating away at me with each step we took.
He laid the blanket out underneath a large, oak tree. He set down the bag, placing the papers down underneath the box of pencils to ground them. Matt had dressed me ridiculously warm, even though the snow had all melted. The subtle breeze was chilly, but definitely not cold enough to require a winter coat, gloves, and a hat.
I had taken them all off, starting to sweat. He gave me a knowing look before I grabbed his hand, placing it onto my slightly damp forehead. He muttered under his breath, handing me a clipboard and holding out the coloring pages.
I picked the sheet of paper that had initially grabbed my attention. A princess that had curly-ish hair. She wore a corset and a dress underneath, singing to animals in the woods. “Is Aurora your favorite princess?” Matt asks.
I shrug. “I’ve never seen any princess movies. Not since before I can even remember.” I state. His eyebrows furrow as he nods his head slowly. “Don’t worry, I’ll catch you up on ‘em.” He expresses softly. I give him a soft, appreciative smile.
“So,” I pull out the green colored pencil, shading the bottom of her dress carefully. “--who's your favorite princess?” I ask. I focus on the task at hand, my tongue slightly poking out as I concentrate on keeping the color within the printed line.
“I’m not really sure, to be honest.” He answers. “--my favorite sidekick has to be Pascal from Rapunzel, though. My man is really doing the most.” He jokes. I take a mental note, nodding my head. He pulls his phone out, handing it over to me.
“Here,” he opens it with his face ID. “--play some music, whatever ya want.” He offers. I smile, clicking on a couple of songs as the music plays softly in the background. He reaches into the bag, pulling out an array of bagged snacks. Chips, cookies, even candy and sodas.
“Matt!” I exclaim, my heart filling with warmth as he shoves the treats further towards me. “--you didn’t have to do all of this!” I let out. He opens the soda can, pushing it into my hands. “I know, I wanted to.” He states.
I sip the sugary liquid, coughing at the unfamiliar tingle. When’s the last time I had soda? “I haven’t had soda in forever.” I say, slightly embarrassed. He shakes his head, taking a swig of his own drink. “This one is my favorite, I love rootbeer. Do you have a favorite?” He asks.
Do I have a favorite? I clear my throat, my chest constricting slightly. I don’t have any favorites because I simply don’t know. “Like I said, it’s been awhile, I don’t really know.” I say, twisting my lips to the side as I bite on the inside of my cheek.
“That’s okay,” he smiles down at me, his eyes seeping into mine with a comforting reassurance. “--I didn’t know my favorite princess, either, remember? We can figure it out together.” He says. I feel the smile form on my face as I look back down to the paper.
“This was really sweet, Matt. I really appreciate it.” I express. My head wanders upwards, seeing him scratching at the back of his neck nervously. He clears his throat. “I was-uh…I was hoping–maybe this could be our second date? It doesn’t have—” He stumbles over his words, his eyes looking to the side of my head.
I reach my hand out, letting my fingers rub over his shoulder. “Matt, I’d love that.” I express. His eyebrows raise with surprise. “Really?” He asks. I give him a curt nod. “Really.” I say.
_
The snacks were almost all nearly gone, the sky turning from a pale blue to a cotton-candy sunset. We had played like kids on the playset for hours on end. My hands were calloused from the monkey bars, my legs sore from running from Matt chasing me.
No fears, no ghosts looming over my shoulders. Just us. “Gotcha!” He yells, tackling me in a bear-hug from behind. I giggle uncontrollably, my chest heaving with gasps of air. I didn’t know if it was the fact that I was full or if I had slept like a baby with him last night. Something told me that it was just how he made me feel, but I was bursting with energy.
He curls his head into the crook of my neck as he sways us side-to-side. His pants fan across my neck, my heart racing as I lean into his touch. “Gotcha.” He repeats in a whisper. I let out a soft laugh, letting the giggles die down as we stood, watching the sun sink below the horizon in front of us.
I turn my head around, meeting his eyes as he gleams down at me. The golden hue highlights his features perfectly, carving out his face like art. “You look beautiful.” We both speak at the same time. I laugh, feelling his chest rack with vibrations from behind me.
We fall into a comfortable silence, our eyes lingering together. He pulls me closer to him, his lips against my head as he speaks. “You are beautiful.”
_
Walking back to his home in a comfortable silence was peaceful. We laid down in his bed, tangling our limbs together.
“What’s the scar on your arm really from?” His voice slices through the calm silence, my body tensing at his words. I don’t answer, I can’t find the words to answer. “It’s from him, isn’t it?” He continues. I nod my head in his chest, fiddling with the horse pendant that loops around his neck.
“It was years ago. It’s the only time something like that has ever happened, I swear.” I promise, looking up to his somber eyes. He gulps, his clouded eyes flickering closed. He lets out a deep breath, pushing back the hair from my face. His delicate touch leaves a warmth.
“Promise me,” he swallows thickly, looking down at me. “--promise me that’ll you’ll tell me if something ever happens.” I let my eyes flicker down to his necklace, the cold metal weighing down my fingertips.
“Nothing’s gonna happen–”
“Promise me. Please.” He urges. I look up, peeling his hand away from my head. I take his pinky, looping it on my own. “I promise.” I say, looking between his eyes. He nods before nuzzling me into his chest.
It’s the truth. He wouldn’t mean to hurt me–I knew that. The regret on his face after I had screamed out from the cigarette burn haunted my thoughts. Deep down, I knew it haunted his own too.
_
I woke up in my own bed this morning. I clung onto the soft, purple sweater in my sleep, dreaming of him. I couldn’t recall what the dream had enquired about, but I woke up with a smile etched on my lips softly. The rumors had died-down at school, classes passing by as Matt and I kept exchanging glances throughout the entire school-day.
He had forced Chris to sit in the back, despite him bickering back. He did the same as we drove back to his home, making Chris pout like a child from the backseat. “I have hockey practice tonight, but I figured–”
“SHUT UP! MADI’S COMING OVER! WANNA HANG OUT?!” Nick cuts off. I nod my head, laughing at his excitement. He claps his hands, his grin growing on his face.
“We’ll be back at like 6, I think.” He adds. He drops Nick and I off, heading back to school with Chris happily returning to his usual seat in the front. They drive off, Nick dragging me into the house with passionate steps.
_
Madi had arrived soon after they left. The more we talked, the more I wanted to keep talking. She didn’t make me feel judged, she just simply wanted to get to know me. We had briefly talked about Matt–she explained how they only dated because they felt like they had to. The pressure of highschool got to their heads, but they returned to being friend’s without any awkwardness.
The boys had returned back from hockey practice, sweaty and gross. But, they were also starved. Marylou and Jimmy had prepared dinner. We all sat, small conversation ensuing while we laughed. None of the people at the table were family, but it felt like they were.
After eating, Matt had taken me up to his room despite Nick and Madi’s groans. He sat me down on the bed. “Give me five minutes, I’ll be fast.” He muttered before racing into his bathroom.
The water only ran for a couple of minutes before he walked out of the bathroom door.
My eyes widen at the sight in front of me. His hair was slightly damp, darker than usual from the water. A pair of gray sweatpants hung dangerously low on his waist. I gulped, my eyes glued to his abdomen and displayed tattoos.
I hear him laugh, laying down next to me. “You’re so respectful, hm?” He teases. I bite down on my lips, my cheeks burning from embarrassment. “--’s okay, come here.” He pulls me down to his bare chest. My palm rests on his bare skin, the touch making my breath feel uneven.
“How was practice?” I ask. I trace circles onto his stomach, watching as his stomach clenches and unclenches from under my touch in the slightest. He grabs my hand in his own, holding it securely. I look up, seeing his eyes shut tightly.
“If you want me to be able to think–you can’t do that.” He voices. I smirk, bring my hand back down. I repeat the same action, this time letting my blue nails graze lightly along his stomach hair that trails down. I hear him suck in a gasp at my touch.
I continue the action, pulling myself up to his ear. “Maybe,” I swipe just beneath the waistband of his sweats, his lips parting. “--I don’t want you to think.” I taunt. I smile proudly, watching his eyes glaze over with lust, his eyes dilating while gleaming into mine.
A knock on the door sounds, Matt groening and throwing his head back. “What!” He shouts, displeased. I let my palm rest back on his chest.
“We’re all playing games, come on! Mom wants Y/n!” I hear Nick shout. Matt rolls his eyes. “Fine!” He yells back. I smile at his blank face, watching him rub along his jaw. He stands up, pulling a hoodie on. Offering me a hand, he pulls me up from the bed.
He doesn’t take a step back. We stand face-to-face. His eyes flicker down to my lips. “Can I have a different hoodie?” I ask. Matt nods his head, walking over to his closet and pulling out a purple sweatshirt. He tosses it to me.
I smirk, an idea popping into my head. Before hesitating at all, I pull the shirt over my head. I see Matt’s eyes bulge out of his head, his gaze focusing on my covered breasts. I put on the hoodie, walking over to Matt who stands frozen in place.
I giggle, gripping his jaw playfully between my pointer finger and my thumb. “How respectful, hm?” I retorted. His tongue prods inside of his mouth at his cheek. He grabs my wrist, pulling my hand down with a smirk.
“You really wanna play that game? Hm, sweetheart?” I squint my eyes at his words, shrugging with a proud smirk. “Nope, I wanna go play games with your family. I’m gonna go head down–I’ll meet you down there whenever you calm down.” I motion to his crotch, the slight bulge very apparent.
A slight pink hue crosses his cheeks. I open the door, giving him a small wave. “See ya!” I say, walking down the hallway with light steps as the excitement brushes through my veins.

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN | ❝𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆❞
Fall Semester 2015
He was your first real friend here. That felt pretty certain after just the first time you two hung out in his dorm room because your roommate was having sex in yours, and your other option would’ve been camping out in the library.
Maybe it hadn’t been the best idea to accept Eddie’s offer. You two were still pretty much strangers at that point and had only had one brief conversation in a broken-down elevator. However, somehow, it didn’t feel like a bad decision.
Over the last month of being in college, there had been no one else that you’d been able to hit it off so easily with. In ways, it reminded you of how friendships formed in elementary school— bonding over the most random of things and then promptly becoming the best friends for a week or two. This friendship with Eddie already felt like it would last longer than just a few weeks, though.
“What about California?”
You shook your head. “Ended up being too expensive.”
You two were settled on his floor and talking about what brought you both here, and you’d been surprisingly honest and admitted that you had really wanted to get out of your quiet hometown and had done everything you could to make that happen; applying to colleges in a bunch of different states, and then ending up here because it made the most sense in the end.
“What about you?” You asked, turning the question over to him.
“I wasn’t the best in high school, but I somehow got accepted here,” He told you and you nodded. “At first, I kinda didn’t wanna go, but my uncle was really adamant about it, so I did it. And it hasn’t been too bad so far.”
“Aside from the elevators that break down way too easily,” You joked, giving him a small smile.
He laughed a little. “Yeah, aside from that. But apparently, they're the best way to make friends.”
You nodded, laughing too. “Unconventional, but effective.”

Spring Semester 2018
It was a tangle of limbs and zero space— your head on Steve’s chest and an arm draped around his torso and his wrapped around you, keeping you close. The position itself was surprisingly comfortable but you were starting to feel way too warm.
You weren’t even entirely sure what time it was or when you and Steve had finally fallen asleep after talking and doing a bit more than talking throughout most of the night, but you could see that the sun was out and it didn’t feel as if you’d gotten more than four hours of sleep.
Instead of shifting out of the position, you simply pushed the blanket down off of you with your hand and leg that wasn’t entirely entangled with Steve’s because you refused to completely detach from him. The cool air hitting your bare legs immediately made you feel a thousand times better and you softly sighed in contentment.
“You okay?” You heard Steve sleepily mumble.
“Yeah, I was just a little warm,” You whispered back, eyes still shut as you attempted to lull yourself back to sleep.
“Sorry, are we too close?” He asked and started to pull away, but you quickly stopped him by pushing yourself further into your side.
“No, no, it’s okay. I like this.”
“Okay,” He said and you could practically hear the smile in his voice as he pressed a kiss to the top of your head.
That made you open your eyes and tilt your head upward to look at him. The sleepy smile on his face made you want to kiss him, and realizing that you could do that whenever you wanted to now warmed something inside you.
As if feeling your gaze, Steve’s eyes opened and he looked down at you. “You’re staring.”
You pushed up further so that you could press a kiss against his cheek. “You’re really cute.”
“And you say I’m the flirty one,” He said as his arms tightened around you and pulled you impossibly closer to him.
You shook your head, the smallest smile on your face. “I wasn’t trying to flirt, just stating a fact and giving you a very sweet compliment.”
“Okay, in that case, thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
Steve shifted a bit, keeping you close but maneuvering so that he was on his side and facing you. You followed suit, moving a little and letting the side of your head fall against your pillow as you kept looking at him. He leaned in a little, nose softly brushing yours before closing all of the distance and pressing his lips against yours. One of his hands slipped beneath your t-shirt and gave your waist a squeeze, which made you hum softly into his mouth. You pulled back from the kiss after the briefest moment.
“Wait, I need to ask you something,” You said, eyes meeting his. “Do you like Monopoly?”
He let out a laugh. “That’s such a random question, but yeah. I can’t remember the last time I played it, though.”
“We finally played it again for game night and I kinda wished you were there,” You told him as you reached out to push a hand through his messy hair. “I had a feeling you would’ve gotten just as competitive as Robin.”
“I do get very competitive at Monopoly,” He nodded and then turned his head a bit so that he could press a quick kiss against your wrist. “I don’t know if we’d be able to survive it.”
You shook your head as you smiled. “No, we would be fine because you’d be competitive with everyone else, but super nice to me.”
“Okay, yeah, that’s true,” He smiled back at you. “I’d never make you pay if you landed on any of my properties.”
“Thank you.”
“You’re really cute too, by the way.”
You smiled wider. “You are the flirty one.”
“Yes, and I’ll happily admit it,” He said before kissing you again.
It was the sound of your phone loudly ringing, indicating your alarm, that interrupted you two that time around and startled you so much that it made your head harshly bump against his.
“Ouch, sorry.”
“What’s that alarm for?” Steve asked, rubbing his forehead.
“For you. And I completely forgot about it,” You answered as you turned and reached over to grab your phone and stop the incessant ringing. “I set it last night after you mentioned the final project that you needed to spend all day today working on.” You also quickly turned off the alarm that was set for fifteen minutes from now. “But, and hear me out on this one— don’t leave.” You turned back over and faced him again, taking note of the amused look on his face. “I’m kidding, for the most part, I know you have to go. But, I do have a fresh toothbrush you can use, and I still have your t-shirt if you wanna change into something else. Wait, actually, no you can’t use that shirt. I refuse to give it back to you now.”
“Honestly, I never expected it back.”
“Good,” You said before letting out a soft contented sigh and burying your face in his neck.
Things got quiet then and you half-expected him to say that yes, he did have to leave, but he didn’t. Instead, neither of you moved for a bit.
You could feel yourself slowly falling asleep, but you didn’t want it to happen, and although you wanted Steve to stay and be both your pillow and your blanket at that moment, you knew what you actually needed to do right then.
You pulled back from his neck to look at him. “Okay, I’ll stop holding you hostage now.”
“You can keep doing it if you want,” He said, sounding equally as tired as you and you decided not to protest his words.
“Okay,” You said softly with a quick nod before shifting around so that you were pressed back against him and then pulled his arm around you.
You felt his mouth against the top of your ear. “I wanna take you out tonight.”
You hummed in response. “Out?”
“On a date that both of us know is a date.”
“Okay,” You nodded. “Do I get to know where?”
“No, I want it to be a surprise.”
“Of course you do,” You said playfully. “Lucky for you I’m completely free tonight.”
You weren’t sure how long you’d fallen asleep that time, it could’ve been ten minutes or an hour, but the feeling of Steve pulling away from you stirred you awake.
“Go back to sleep,” He said when your eyes opened and you turned over to look at him. “I’ll see you later.”
You shook your head as you stood up from your bed and rubbed your eyes. “No, I’ll walk you out. Just to the door, though. I don’t think I can make it downstairs.”
“Okay,” He said, smiling at your tiredness.
It slightly startled you to see everyone in the living room; Robin and Vickie on the couch and Talia on the small loveseat.
“Hi… You guys remember Steve,” You said much more awkwardly than intended. The entire moment suddenly felt like a walk of shame; even though you and Steve hadn’t had sex and you were already home. But it was just that, aside from Talia, the last thing your other two friends knew about you and Steve was that you hadn’t talked in a month, so it must’ve seemed insane seeing him walk out of your room right then.
Vickie nodded at your previous words and smiled. “Talia filled us in on everything.”
“Steven, you’ve been missed around here,” Robin said, a smile on her face at first, and then she gave him a serious look. “We’ll have another talk later.”
He laughed a little. “Can’t wait for that.”
You finished walking Steve to the door, and Robin, Vickie, and Talia went back to watching the sitcom playing on the TV, but you had a feeling that they were very much listening to you and him.
Steve stepped out into the quiet hallway and then turned around to face you. “I’ll text you later about our date.”
“Okay,” You said softly, trying to think of some sort of joke to say but it was hard to do when all you really wanted to do right then was kiss him. So, you did, quickly pushing up on your toes and pressing the quickest kiss against his lips.
“Maybe I should stay, actually,” He said when you pulled back and his hands reached out to settle on your hips.
You almost agreed, but you shook your head instead. “No, go. You’re not gonna fail any classes because of me.”
“Okay,” He said before leaning down and giving you a final kiss on your cheek. “Bye.”
“Bye,” You said and then proceeded to smile and lean against the doorframe as you watched him walk away.
“Oh my god, she’s so in love.”
“Shut up,” You said in response to Robin’s teasing words as you pushed the door shut once Steve turned the corner. You tried to sound as serious as possible, but it was way too hard to wipe the smile off of your face.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。
Steve’s hand found yours barely a minute into the car ride, intertwining it with his and resting them on your thigh.
You settled yourself into his passenger seat, getting comfortable for however long the drive would end up being. “So, you’re taking me to dinner.”
“Maybe…” He responded, and it slightly amused you how vague he was still being about everything even though his earlier text of, “I’ll be at your place at 7. Make sure you don’t eat dinner,” could really only mean one thing.
You decided to play along, though. “Or is it bowling? Roller skating? A movie?”
“Those are really good guesses,” He joked, which made you laugh.
“What’s the right answer?”
He took a quick glance over at you and shook his head. “I’m not saying.”
It wasn’t until twenty minutes later when he was parked in an unfamiliar but very crowded parking lot that he finally told you.
“Do you remember our first date?” He asked, and at first, all you could do was smile at his words.
It was such a silly question that you really couldn’t help but make a joke. “Weirdly enough, I don’t. Wait, who are you again?”
“Ha ha,” He playfully rolled his eyes at you.
“I’m sorry, I had to,” You said, pulling your intertwined hands up and giving the back of his a quick peck. “Of course, I remember our first date. We had a great time watching the second Hunger Games movie.”
“Yes, and we were supposed to get food before the movie, but you weren’t hungry so we skipped dinner and just did the movie. This is the place that I was gonna take you then.”
You nodded at his words and then looked away from him when you remembered something else from that night— where your head had been then and how you’d been feeling. “I’m sorry.”
Steve gave you a confused look. “Why?”
“This feels so shitty to say now, but I lied then. The reason that I suggested we skip dinner was because I just wanted the date to be over faster. Oh my god, saying it out loud makes it sound even more shitty.” You met his gaze again. “I’m sorry.”
“Hey, no, don’t be. That’s okay,” Steve said as he gave your hand a light reassuring squeeze. “Honestly, that makes a lot of sense.”
“It’s so stupid, though, because then during it, when we were watching the movie, I kinda regretted lying because of how well things were actually going with us.”
He gave you a smile then. “It was really good.”
You nodded. “Yup, I even let you kiss me that night.”
“Can I kiss you right now?”
You shook your head, biting back the smile tugging at your lips. “That’s not proper date etiquette, Steven. All kisses must be saved until the end.”
He nodded understandingly, but there was an amused smile on his face. “Ah yes, makes sense.”
You held his eyes for a moment and then looked away and finally stepped out of his car before you ended up breaking your own stupid rule.
His hand found yours again as you two headed inside the restaurant. It was a lively and busy place, and at first, you figured that was why Steve had picked it, but once you two were settled in the short line behind other people waiting to put their names down at the hostess stand, you noticed the open doors that led to the dining room area straight ahead and then the shelves and shelves of books to the left.
Before you could say anything, Steve was leaning into your ear to be heard over the noise. “It’s kind of a book-themed restaurant. You’ll see all of the decorations on the walls when we sit down later.” He then nodded his head in the direction of the bookshelves that you’d just noticed. “And there’s a used bookstore attached too.”
You looked up at him. “This place is perfect.” You then shook your head at yourself. “Now I feel like even more of an asshole for lying to you that night.”
“Now that I’m thinking about it, if we would’ve gone then, you probably would’ve fallen in love with me on the spot,” He told you, a teasing smirk on his face.
“Embarrassingly so, probably,” You playfully nodded in agreement.
It was quite hard to imagine things working out between you two in any other way than this one, though. It almost felt as if everything needed to happen in the way that it did between you and him. And with how damn near perfect everything felt right now, you were completely okay with how slow everything had moved— how stupid and confused you both had been at times— because it happily led you here.
You looked around for a brief second. “How did you know I would like this place before we even met?”
“The only thing Eddie told me about you before our date was that you were an English major, and after a quick Google search, I found this place and I figured it would be perfect,” He explained and then gave you a nonchalant and almost shy-looking shrug.
You pushed up on your toes and quickly kissed him instead of verbally saying anything in response to his thoughtful words that made you feel as if you were going to explode because of how sweet they were.
When you pulled away, he smiled at you. “I thought that wasn’t proper date etiquette?”
You didn’t get the chance to answer his question because you two were at the front of the line and Steve was putting his name down after the hostess said that there would be about a forty-five-minute wait to get a table, which you were perfectly okay with.
Steve let you lead the way as you went down different aisles; it was pretty quiet between you two. Whenever you were looking through books, you always got that way, focusing on finding something instead of anything else.
After about fifteen minutes, you were slotting another book back in the spot you pulled it from and then looked at Steve. “God, sorry, this is probably so boring for you.”
He shook his head and gave you a small smile. “No, I like watching you.”
You couldn’t help but laugh. “If I didn’t really really really like you, I would think that’s very creepy.”
“Phew, good thing you really really really like me then,” His arms circled around you and you returned the embrace immediately, letting your arms wrap around his neck as you looked up at him.
You were almost certain that you two were going to kiss, but you pulled away when you noticed a person at the end of the aisle— you didn’t want you and Steve to become the kind of couple that was so disgustingly adorable in public. You grabbed his hand instead and continued to lead him down the aisle.
You picked through books with your free hand, nothing really catching your eye enough for you to actually pull it off the shelf, and then you noticed a title that looked really familiar so you grabbed it immediately. “Woah.”
“What?” Steve asked, looking down at the book you now had in your hand.
“Okay, this might be a stupidly long story,” You started. “So, I had to read a different book by this author for one of my classes. I ended up liking it a lot and also his writing style too, so I looked him up, and I saw that he did this historical fiction book; some World War II thing. It actually sounded interesting, and I immediately thought of you when I found it because I thought you’d probably like it. But, we weren’t talking at the time, so of course I didn’t tell you about it or recommend it to you.” You pointed to the book in your hand. “This is that book, and now I really wanna get it for you. This also now reminds me of our first date and when I said that I’d find you a book to make you not hate reading. If you do end up actually hating this book, though, I give you full permission to lie to me when I ask what you thought about it.” You got quiet as you looked down at the book again and then back up at him. “Okay, I’m done rambling now.”
Steve smiled at you and your rambling. “I can’t wait to read it.”
You laughed a bit. “Okay, you don’t have to lie yet.”
“I’m not lying,” He told you. “If you get like this anytime you talk about books, then I’ll read any one you give me.”
That warmed your heart so much that it made you not care about pressing the sweetest kiss against his lips in front of the other people in the narrow aisle.
His hand was still against your cheek when you pulled back from the slow kiss and told him, “I’ll happily read to you too, like in Mexico, if you want.”
He nodded. “That sounds great.”
The text that the table was ready came earlier than expected. You two were sitting on a small bench that was right outside the restaurant and you were in fact reading to him.
“Thoughts so far?” You asked as you and he stood up to head back into the restaurant. “Remember lying is encouraged.”
“It’s surprisingly good. And I’m not lying,” He answered as he pulled the door open for you.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。
You weren’t entirely sure who initiated what.
You had kissed Steve first, you knew that. But, it was meant to be a goodbye one— you were standing outside of your apartment door after having dinner at the restaurant and you both could recognize that the night had come to its natural end. Instead, though, the kiss felt like the opposite; it distinctly felt like the start of something rather than the end. And it did start something.
You were being softly pressed back against the door as Steve deepened the kiss, mouth moving against yours so seamlessly as one hand came up to cup your cheek and the other found the curve of your waist.
There was a part of you that suddenly felt so certain that this would never not feel so fucking right to you. Sure, it had been barely twenty-four hours since things shifted and changed into what you and Steve were now, but it felt so easy and not at all rushed or abrupt. It was as if this was something that had been slowly building until here you two finally were— making out against your front door without a care in the world because you both were so equally smitten and enamored by each other.
You wanted absolutely everything with him, and perhaps he was able to tell that from the look in your eyes when you pulled back from the kiss to catch your breath for a moment. And maybe it was in your head, but it seemed as if he was nodding in agreement with you.
He was in the middle of leaning in to kiss you again when the door opened abruptly and you let out a surprised yelp as both of Steve’s hands immediately found your hips to keep you from falling back.
“Shit, sorry,” You recognized Eddie’s voice before you turned around. “I don’t even wanna know what you two were just doing.”
You didn’t expect to see him in this moment. He came over to the apartment earlier to return something that he’d stolen from Robin a few days ago, and you had used that moment as your opportunity to tell him about you and Steve.
“I guess I did end up playing matchmaker for you after all,” Had been his immediate response after you told him that you and Steve were together. “Once again, I expect the biggest shoutout at your guys’ wedding.”
You only rolled your eyes at him in response because you couldn’t think of anything else to say. Technically, he was entirely right— you wouldn’t have even met Steve if it wasn’t for Eddie. And it was a bit insane to think about that.
“Also,” He continued. “I feel slightly offended that I’m the last to find out, even though I’ve known you the longest.”
“It’s one of the privileges that come along with Rob, Vick, and Tal being my roommates,” You said, a teasing smile on your face. “You’ll be back to the top in a few months.”
At the end of the summer, he was going to move into Talia’s room since she was graduating and doing her master’s program at a school in New York. It was an almost too obvious decision that, of course, made the most sense.
“I’m surprised you’re still here,” You said to Eddie now. You mindlessly leaned back against Steve because it felt slightly weird not having zero space between you two. It wasn’t until after you did it, that you wondered if you were doing too much, being too much, but then Steve’s hand was finding yours and giving it a light squeeze, and the thought was quickly pushed away.
“Vickie put on this weird Christmas baking show and we’ve all been watching it since you left,” Eddie explained and you nodded. “I’m now being forced to grab the takeout from downstairs, though.”
“You’re back!” You noticed Talia turning around from where she was on the couch. “How was the date?”
Before you could say anything, Robin was turning around too. “Eddie, grab the food before it gets stolen by the same asshole from last time!”
“I’m going, I’m going,” He called out before heading down the hallway.
The door was more than halfway open at that point, and you turned again to look at Steve again instead of doing anything else.
“You wanna come in?” You asked because you simply just really wanted to keep the night going with him. “If we hate watching the baking show, we can go to my room and finally watch Freaky Friday.”
From the smile on his face, you could tell that he didn’t want the night to be over either. “Okay.”

Earthborn (Hazbin Hotel Reader Insert)
Oh geez this made me realize I have religious trama while writing this.
Spoilers if you haven't actually watched hazbin hotel.
Also apparently the characters are taalll. Minus Niffty
Just test on how I'll write hazbin hotel so to be continued or not
"Go fuck yourself pompous prick!" (Y/n) yelled at Adam, their anger getting to them.
"Don't speak to me like that! You came from me!" He responded. "You are alive because I fucked-."
"Up, yeah I know. Being God's chosen people, Adam and Eve. Cast out after eating the apple, had two sons and one killed the other. Blah blah, I was raised in church." They told him. "And in a club in elementary school about the Bible so I know a bunch."
Charlie and Vaggie looked at each other in confusion, (Y/n) never talked about these parts of their past.
"Then why are you arguing with me?!"
"Because if you get to be here after getting banished from the garden by God himself then I see no reason why Sinners that want change themselves to get shouldn't." (Y/n) said staring at Adam with their arms crossed.
The Angels watching started to whisper to themselves.
"(Y/n), you know why you are here." Said Sara. "Please do not get involved with the next issue until we get to that."
(Y/n) looked way up to where Sara and Emily were seated. "Very well, apologizes I just wanted to get that out of the way." They bowed while speaking before standing straight. "...This is probably has to do in how I've been in hell?"
"Yes, (Y/n) (Middle Name) (L/n), you are still earthborn, not yet a sinner or a winner, have been in hell for just less than a year. How did you get there?"
Shocked faces across the room from everyone minus (Y/n), who looked uncomfortable with being called their full name.
"(Y/n) is that true?" Asked Charlie, surprised at the information. She knew (Y/n) didn't look like a sinner, kept a more humanoid look than most and was shorter than most of the people at the hotel.
"Yeah, I'm still human or well Earthborn as it was called. I didn't tell any of you since I didn't want you to worry." (Y/n) told Charlie look at her and Vaggie. "How did you even know?" They asked the Seraphim in charge. "I have an... okay disguise." Looking at themselves, with pointy ears, sharper teeth, and their eyes were not a normal color. They atleast didn't look human enough to question.
"We can tell by your soul. It still shows your the weight of your sins or what not. Not like I forget what one of my millions of too many great-grandchildren look like." Said Adam and with a grin and a snap of his fingers, (Y/n) felt the necklace they wore break in peices as the magic it held broke with it.
"I would rather be dead than be related to you, prick." (Y/n) said with deadpan look.
"It took awhile to realize you weren't just a weird sinner soul so we told Sara when we noticed all of you earlier." Said Lute, finally butting in before Adam could argue again.
"(Y/n) how did you get into hell?" Sara asked again, tried of this again.
"Not sure? Its kinda just a blank space between being on earth and then in hell." They answered with a shrug. "I found someone to help me somewhat look the part and then Vaggie found me while I was wondering around."
The earthborn was complete being too nonchalant with being in hell.
"Why didn't you tell anyone about not being from hell?" Asked Emily, earning a look from Sara.
"Well I mean at first for safety and then to keep anyone from worried about me? I'm kinda more... fragile compared to anyone else since demons and sinner have... an easier time getting up from a normal serious injury than I would." (Y/n) having to think of what they said before they actually saying it.
"I threw you off a building into a fight, how did you survive that?" Questioned Vaggie.
"Well Angel Dust caught me slash soften the fall and I mostly hide until Husk picked me up to leave."
"Why have you been helping Priness Charlie Morningstar with her project even when you are earthborn?" Asked Sara.
"Because it's a good cause? If I was a sinner I would want the hotel to be there to even give me a small chance to get into heaven even if you all don't believe in it. It's a humane way of handling the population down there. If redemption can happen to people while they are alive, why wouldn't it happen while they are dead and in hell? As along as they put in the effort to be good person, they should be a good person."
"If you know the words of the Bible why didn't you spread it down there?"
"Because being pushy to the wrong person could end me? And they really don't really think highly of you all. Plus for me if you heard how people like me would end up there for something out of their control, I would have trama with it."
"Why are you talking about it now if you have an issue with the Bible and God?" Questioned Adam.
"Oh, mostly because I'm pissed off. I don't have an issue with God, at all. It's people with opinions that wrote the book that got translated to many time with out checking by people who also had opinions. The Bible is.. fine. Heck, I didn't even knew there was a Lilith involved until Charlie told me."
(Y/n) sighed, taking a deep breath.
"What's gonna happen now? Are you going to kill me? Actual make me a sinner? Send me back making seem crazy or thinking this is all a weird dream until I actually die?" They asked. "Because if you send me back crazy, I'm gonna actually kill myself."
"No! Let's not do that, please." Pleded Emily to Sara, scared for (Y/n)'s safety.
"Of course, I wouldn't want you to do that." Said Sara.
"Because the Bible says it's a sin or because you actually don't want me too?" Questioned (Y/n), they were tired of this.
"They could become an Exorcists, it would be funny." Said Adam, laughing at the thought of (Y/n) killing their friends.
"How many times do I have to tell you I would rather die than be anything associated with you?"
"You're soul has yet to be judged but you've seen more than any earthborn have seen in many decades. You could stay in heaven as Winner or angel. We could send you back to earth. Which would you want to do?"
"I want to continue to help Charlie see this though." Said (Y/n).
"Your soul would be damned forever, (Y/n) as a sinner. I would not let that happen to any earthborn in your place in good conscious."
"Then send me back as I am. When I die, wherever that may be judged me as I will be."
"(Y/n), you're too young for-."
"It's Hell, I know but it can be nice when you get use to it just like Earth. Please just let me help until I'm ready to go home."
"...Very well, I'll give you till a month time to sort this out for yourself."
Gives you enough time to help for get set for extermination.
