;; Something in me really really really wants to write a professionally angry rant about why losing Carl in the show is the worst possible thing that has ever and could ever happen no matter how long this show goes on for.
The question is, do I do it here or do I do it on my personal?

#;; OOC ~#;; I mean because tbh I'm having doubt about whether I'll actually continue to watch this series after season eight#For sure I'll continue with Fear because they haven't pulled a totally obnoxiously idiotic stunt like that yet#I mean WHOO SPOILER FOR FEAR SPOILER FOR FEAR SERIOUS SPOILER FOR FEAR killing Travis was kinda stupid imo#because it happened just after a really super serious character development and honestly killing Chris was kinda shitty#I mean Chris went backward in development imo which was a huge blow to his character altogether#and Carl only went forward and had endless potential and then it's like crashing a speeding truck into a brick building honestly#WHOO SPOILER FOR FEAR OVER SPOILER FOR FEAR NOT AFTER THIS POINT#Actually there were two major spoilers in there so either way valid spoiler caps#But the issues in Fear weren't as dramatically harmful to the whole series#I can still find reasons to keep watching it#The fact that I'm actually literally sitting here day to day wondering if I want to continue TWD at ALL is a problem in and of itself#Even losing Glenn didn't make me doubt the show's future and I mean yeah it happened in the comics but#you also have to remember that Steven was a huge reason that Glenn's death was taken so hard too#He also wasn't as much of a central plot as Carl and I'm just really doubting I can... feel anything for this show anymore?#Carl was at the perfect age in season one for us to watch absolute character development happen and he was still in the middle of it#The sheer amount of wasted potential with Carl and the rest of the series is what's making me doubt things the most though?#Season seven also made it seem a lot more like Carl was becoming a much more central character and less of a support character#Suddenly here comes season eight where he's hardly even there and for some reason not taking part in the war#even though he took part in the mini war in season seven's finale#I mean part of why I took up writing Carl is that I see endless possibility for his character post season eight#Even if I read the comics my feelings for that Carl will NEVER match what I feel for Chandler's version of him#It's like this... feeling of some kind of post shock still hitting me where I'm like#feeling so empty and I mean Carl's not even my first or second favorite overall#In fact GLENN was my second favorite and he's been gone for a season and a half now#But at this point losing Carl just feels like... what am I even watching for anymore? It really feels like that#Part of me just wants to see the whole show through because I watched a whole fuckin' seven and a half seasons#but the other part of me is just like so destroyed because Carl's paths were laid out in so many directions#LOL This is hardly even the size of the actual rant I want to go into tbh like I want to go full force on it#I'm just actually this devastated by how abrupt and stupidly written it was that I can't get over it or comprehend it ;;

Toy Story Foury Review
Toy Story 4 certainly hit me like a fucking truck. I wasn’t in disdain about it existing like I’ve seen others, but I was wondering what it was gonna do knowing that #3 certainly capped everything off to an F. Then I saw it, and I say I was all for it. This movie surprised me in not only having purpose but providing a story that got me teary eyed yet again.
I’ll get the standards out the way. The animation is great, like it’s Pixar so there’s no surprise. The most satisfying detail I’ll say is the sound and the little details that go into giving the toys the most accurate movements you could give to either a plastic figure or a porcelain figure like Bo Peep. The voicework was great, especially Annie as Bo, Hendrick as Gabby, and Tom as Woody, especially the latter cuz you can really feel the tired dad in his voice. You’ll probably love Forky, his character is consistently good from beginning to end. Key & Peele, like in the trailers, certainly make themselves known in this film, so if you’re fans of them, then you’ll like them in this. Keanu just gives us his machismo A-game effortlessly and there’s one character I loved, won’t say who, I’ll just say they were just valid in every way. If there’s any downside to look out for, I’ll say don’t expect the screen time of all the previous characters sans Buzz and Woody to be a lot; it’s pretty narrow in its character focus other than the new guys which I’ll argue is a benefit to the story. Bo especially is great in that she’s given a lot more dimension compared to her previous appearances. That and the ending is heartwarming to be sure but possibly polarizing as it reminded me a bit of Wreck it Ralph 2, take that what you will.
The story is truly something, which is going to lead to spoilers so Imma put a cut for more if you’re really interested. For a score I’ll give a 4 out of 5. This series admittedly evolved well, like this IS the one franchise that keeps getting better with time. Surprising is what I’ll call this movie and if you’re a TS fan, I definitely recommend it. It’s not Toy Story 3, for sure, but it’s certainly up there with it as an enjoyable adventure in this franchise.
Spoilers below, but not too many to possibly ruin your experience, respectively.
SPOILERS BELOW!
3... 2.. 1. Pengu!
Off the bat, you can tell what the story will generally be about. Namely this is Woody’s story, and as I’ve mentioned before, he is in a pretty conflicted state in this movie. The sense of feeling obsolete is crawling up to him, his purpose of being one child’s toy is wearing thin, especially when Bonnie’s slowly losing interest in him. Doesn’t help that when Woody is essentially responsible for helping Forky exist, Forky can’t appreciate it with the awareness of his other purpose as a disposable utensil, to the point where it was a little concerning to me. So when Woody and the Spork are separated and meet up with Bo Peep, it’s surprising to see that Bo isn’t trying to convince him to join her new life but Woody himself coming to terms with the fact that he isn’t happy being Bonnie’s toy while trying to help other toys be with a kid of their own, juggling two major things at once. Like before it’s about gaining a different outlook It’s as adventurous as before, but I gotta say that it’s more low key than the likes of 2 and 3 where the locations raises the stakes like with the airport or the garbage dump in their respective climaxes.
This plays into the villain’s ploy which isn’t a TWIST! HALLELUJAH! The villain is, arguably, as great as Lotso, if not more, not only in their intimidating presence but in that they are surprisingly sympathetic in their plight to succeed. And they actually succeed in getting what they want yet I love that even then, their victory is hollow until our protagonists comes in to lend the final hand in the end. They’re honestly one of the better Pixar villains.
The ending for sure I’ll say this was as great an ending as number 3, namely cuz it tied well to who Woody is and always has been without being utterly tarnishing to everything he and the others have been through previously. Needless to say, this was an ending that I say was pretty satisfying.
And cat Dragon will forever be a cuddly G.
