Fluorspar Market Sales Strategy, Revenue Generation |Top 10 Key Players & Forecast to 2023
Fluorspar Market Research Report – Forecast to 2023
Fluorspar is the commercial name of mineral fluorites. Fluorite minerals are composed of calcium fluoride (CaF2) containing 51.1% calcium and 48.9% fluorine. They are also found in the fractures and cavities of some limestone and dolomites. It occurs as cubic, isometric crystals having cleavable mass with colorless and translucent with a glassy luster. Impurities change the color of the fluorspar to purple, blue, green, yellow, or others. Fluorspar is categorized based on purity into different types such as an acid spar, ceramic spar, met spar, and others. Acid spar is an extremely pure material containing over 97% CaF2.  Ceramic spar contains about 85%-97% CaF2. Met spar contains about 60%-85% CaF2. Met spar is metallurgical grade fluorspar, which is primarily used in the production of metals where it acts as a flux to remove impurities such as sulfur and phosphorous from molten metal and thus improves the fluidity of slag.

The global market for Fluorspar is projected to reach nearly 7.4 million metric tons by 2024, driven by the strong demand for the mineral in the production of Hydrofluoric Acid (HF). HF flaunts well established industrial uses in metal cleaning, rust removal, electronics manufacturing, glass etching, oil refining and in the production of organofluorine compounds and fluorides and lithium ion batteries; and thus provides stable demand for fluorspar in upstream production applications. Defined as a mineral composed of calcium fluoride (CaF2), fluorspar is characterized by physical properties such as hardness; translucent-to-transparent color appearance; and higher gravity of 3.2 when compared with other minerals. As a bulk material, fluorspar is processed and sold in three grades, acid, ceramic and metallurgical. Acid grade fluorspar is highly pure and is used in the production of HF; ceramic grade fluorspar is used widely in the manufacture of specialty glass, ceramics, and enamelware; metallurgical grade fluorspar is used in the manufacture of iron, steel, and other metals. Planned and scheduled fluorspar production capacity expansion and new additions are expected to boost supply in the coming years as manufacturers scramble to meet demand and consumption growth. Asia-Pacific represents the largest as well as the fastest growing market worldwide with a CAGR of 4.9% over the analysis period, led by factors such as strong economic growth; expanding industrial and manufacturing sector and a parallel increase in several application areas; and growing demand and production of steel and aluminum on the back of growing construction and heavy machinery manufacturing activities. Fluorite Market Manufacturers, Types and Application Report 2021
Tumblr media
The Global Fluorite Consumption Market is classified on the basis of product type, applications, distribution channel and geography. A mineral composed of calcium and fluorine (CaF2) is known as fluorite. It is also called as fluorspar and is a member of the halide minerals. It occurs naturally in a number of colours such as purple, red, orange, white, etc. but the pure form of fluorite is colourless. The colour imparted to the mineral is due to many impurities. Fluorite is one of the well-known fluorescent minerals. In fact, the word fluorescence has come from fluorite. It is found in metamorphic environments, in hydrothermal ore veins, sedimentary deposits, etc.
The crystal form of fluorite is mostly cubic and octahedral. It has a perfect cleavage pattern. In addition, fluorite has a low hardness and hence should be handled with care. Fluorite is visible in ultraviolet as well as visible light. In ultraviolet light, it shows bright fluorescence.  Fluorite has a wide range of applications and therefore significantly fuels the growth of the market. It commonly has lapidary and ornamental applications. In addition, pure grades of fluorite are used in the production of hydrofluoric acid.
Moreover, it can also be in the manufacturing of some enamels and glasses. Furthermore, it is also utilized in the production of lenses owing to the low dispersion of the transparent fluorite lenses. This feature of fluorite mineral is significant in microscopes and telescopes. The factors that propel the growth of the Fluorite Consumption Market include increasing demand, wide range of applications, technological innovations and rapid industrialization.

Key Players
Some of the major players operating in the global fluorspar market are Tertiary Minerals Plc (UK), Mexichem S.A.B. de C.V (Mexico), Masan Group (Vietnam), ZHEJIANG WUYI SHENLONG FLOATATION CO LTD. (China), Centralfluor Industries Group, Inc. (China), Kenya Fluorspar Company Ltd. (Kenya), MINERSA GROUP (Spain), Seaforth Mineral & Ore Co., Inc (U.S.), British Fluorspar Ltd (UK), China Kings Resources Group Co., Ltd. (China), and Mongolrostsvetmet LLC (Mongolia).
Intended Audience
Fluorspar manufacturers
Traders and distributors of fluorspar
Research and development institutes
Potential investors
Raw material suppliers
Nationalized laboratory
Metspar is further used as a catalyst in cement manufacturing and for producing fluorite carved craftworks. Acid spar is chemical grade fluorspar, extensively used in the manufacture of hydrogen fluoride & synthetic cryolite, which is fundamental raw material used in the manufacturing of aluminum metal. Additionally, acid spar further finds application in manufacturing of hydrofluoric acid (HF), which are further used  for the manufacturing of fluorocarbon. It is utilized as a refrigerant in air conditioners and foam blowing agent in polymer synthesis. HF is also used as a catalyst in petroleum alkylation, for manufacturing toothpaste, as a cleaning & etching agent in the semiconductor industry, and pickling of steel among other. Ceramic spar is majorly used in the manufacturing glasses, ceramics & ceramic wares, enamelware.
