alright buckle up because I'm DYING to ask you some questions. You seem to be quite outspoken about the "right way" to engage with TMBD as a fan. Like, great! Good for you! But when you go online and say "If you're doing xyz you're ableist and bigoted towards aroace people" uhhh buddy have you considered that you're literally speaking to aroace people? If I'm only 80% sure I don't want to be in a qpr am I not aroace enough for you? What is your point here? You go on about how the books are promoting slavery apologism, overpriced even though they're promoting an anti-capitalist mentality, racist, and all this other shit... So why are you here? Why not go read something else? Engage in a different fandom? Hell, the tagging system on, say, ao3/tumblr is there for a reason. If you tear the books and the fandom apart, what are you hoping to achieve here? People are going to engage with media that resonates with them in ways that squick you. That's nothing new. Click off it, block tags, block accounts. That's fine. But nobody is going to take you seriously if you just whine about the fandom and the source material. There is nothing wrong with being critical about the media you enjoy, but like, there's a way to do it. If you're going to tear the source material to pieces, just don't do it in the main fandom tags LMAO. you can tag stuff tmbd critical/neg/whatever. you don't have to police an entire fandom presence because they aren't "making fan content right". That's not how fandom works. People are always going to do what they want, what they resonate with. And, like, if you think Murderbot is going to just, up and free every SecUnit the moment it leaves Preservation for the first time, I believe you have fundamentally misunderstood the message behind the books.
