What's Aspen's gender called?
In chapter 11 you say the stats on the ship for gender are '38% female, 41% male, 15% brennan', which leaves 6% for everything else.
The Arboreans seem to have gender, as a Acacia is referred to as female so it's not that.
In chapter 45 you make it clear that they're something we would currently consider non-binary and also they're not brennan (although that was already clear) but I don't think it's been named at any point. Are they just non-trinary then?
Yeah they're non-ternary

🎉🎉🎉 200 follower hunger games simulator oc challenge! 🎉🎉🎉
It’s been decided that the hunger games simulator is going ahead! Very much looking forward to it!
First, the participants! I can have a maximum of 48 ocs join this challenge and a minimum of 24 challengers (If it turns out more people want to join, I’d happily increase the number). If you have multiple ocs, feel free to submit them for the challenge. However, I’m going to focus on having it be fair for everyone so your other ocs will only join if there’s space by the time I start the simulator.
Leave a comment with who you’d like to join and I’ll update this post with who’s joining. I mean, Destino will also be joining too, for a bit of fun.
Make sure I can also find the reference of your character in an easy place as the sim also comes with a add a photo button and I think that’d be fun.
Each week, I’m going to post an update with how your ocs are getting on with some art to go along with it. Any “deaths” will be drawn in a comedic way (I definitely don’t want to drawn any of them seriously hurt). Feel free to also draw some moments from this too if there’s any I haven’t drawn. The OC that wins the hunger games simulator challenge will have a drawing of their victory!
I will be starting this on Saturday 29th April.
Good luck competitors!

As it has been shown you on the mountain, so shall it be made.
The Court of the Tabernacle
9 “You shall make the court of the tabernacle. On the south side the court shall have hangings of fine twined linen a hundred cubits long for one side. 10 Its twenty pillars and their twenty bases shall be of bronze, but the hooks of the pillars and their fillets shall be of silver. 11 And likewise for its length on the north side there shall be hangings a hundred cubits long, its pillars twenty and their bases twenty, of bronze, but the hooks of the pillars and their fillets shall be of silver. 12 And for the breadth of the court on the west side there shall be hangings for fifty cubits, with ten pillars and ten bases. 13 The breadth of the court on the front to the east shall be fifty cubits. 14 The hangings for the one side of the gate shall be fifteen cubits, with their three pillars and three bases. 15 On the other side the hangings shall be fifteen cubits, with their three pillars and three bases. 16 For the gate of the court there shall be a screen twenty cubits long, of blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen, embroidered with needlework. It shall have four pillars and with them four bases. 17 All the pillars around the court shall be filleted with silver. Their hooks shall be of silver, and their bases of bronze. 18 The length of the court shall be a hundred cubits, the breadth fifty, and the height five cubits, with hangings of fine twined linen and bases of bronze. 19 All the utensils of the tabernacle for every use, and all its pegs and all the pegs of the court, shall be of bronze.
Oil for the Lamp
20 “You shall command the people of Israel that they bring to you pure beaten olive oil for the light, that a lamp may regularly be set up to burn. 21 In the tent of meeting, outside the veil that is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall tend it from evening to morning before the Lord. Prophetic Wars Against Israel
There are two end times Israeli wars mentioned in the bible. Ezekiel 38 and 39 and Revelation 19:17. Some interpret these as the same war. But others believe they are two separate battles. I'm inclined to agree with the latter. Let's look at the Ezekiel War.
"The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshek and Tubal; prophesy against him 3 and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against you, Gog, chief prince of[Meshek and Tubal." Ezekiel 38:1-3
No one knows who God is. But we do know that he is the ruler of Magog. The nation of Magog is mentioned in Genesis 10:2 and 1 Chronicles 1:5. Some scholars believe it refers to the region north of the Black Sea. Ukraine is located on the northern and western shores of the Black Sea. Russia is located on the northeastern shores of the Black Sea.
Who will fight with Gog? "Persia, Cush, and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you." Ezekiel 5,6
Persia is Iran. The recent friendly relations between Russia and Iran has many wondering if this prophecy by Ezekiel is developing. Cush is located south of Egypt and encompasses Sudan and Ethiopia. The exact location of Put is unknown. Most favor Libya.
Some say Put is actually Punt. It's exact location is unkown, but knowledge of this ancient kingdom is known from ancient Egyptian trade records. Egypt traded with Punt for gold, ebony, ivory, wild animals. aromatic resins, and blackwood. Blackwood is several hardwood trees like Acacia and Dalbergia known for their jet-black color and used in musical instruments. Historians state Punt could be a country in the Horn of East Africa. It would have been bordered by Ethiopia and South Sudan. Recent evidence locates it in northwestern Eritrea. Eritrea is a country in the Horn of Eastern Africa. It is bordered by Ethiopia in the south, Sudan in the west. The northeastern and eastern parts of Eritrea have an extensive coastline along the Red Sea.
"After many days you will be called to arms. In future years you will invade a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate. They had been brought out from the nations, and now all of them live in safety. 9 You and all your troops and the many nations with you will go up, advancing like a storm; you will be like a cloud covering the land." Ezekiel 38: 8,9
Here we see that am massive coalition will come against " a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations." Many people believe this is Israel as it is often under attack and Jews have been returning to Israel from all over the world. Many bible verses talk about their return
"I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the Lord." Jeremiah 29:14
""I will gather them from all the countries where I have driven them in my anger and in my fury, and I will bring them back to this land, and I will make them a nation, and they will be my people, and I will be their God." Jeremiah 32:37.
When Israel was reestablished in 1948, Jews from all over the world have been returning. Some Africa, the middle east, Europe. Russia, and even the U.S.
These countries from Eastern Africa, North Africa, Middle East, Northern Europe come together to defeat the tiny nation of Israel.
"‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: On that day thoughts will come into your mind and you will devise an evil scheme. 11 You will say, “I will invade a land of unwalled villages; I will attack a peaceful and unsuspecting people—all of them living without walls and without gates and bars. 12 I will plunder and loot and turn my hand against the resettled ruins and the people gathered from the nations, rich in livestock and goods, living at the center of the land" Ezekiel 38: 10-12.
How can a small country the size of New Jersey stand against such a coalition? God promises that he will fight for them.
"This is what will happen in that day: When Gog attacks the land of Israel, my hot anger will be aroused, declares the Sovereign Lord. In my zeal and fiery wrath I declare that at that time there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. The fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the beasts of the field, every creature that moves along the ground, and all the people on the face of the earth will tremble at my presence. The mountains will be overturned, the cliffs will crumble and every wall will fall to the ground. I will summon a sword against Gog on all my mountains, declares the Sovereign Lord. Every man’s sword will be against his brother. I will execute judgment on him with plague and bloodshed; I will pour down torrents of rain, hailstones and burning sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him. And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.’ Ezekiel 38: 18-23
1.Several things are going to happen.
2. There will be a great earthquake.
3. The armies will fight against each other
4.There will be a plague in the armies
5. Torrents of rain, hailstones and burning sulfur will be poured out onto the armies. A volcanic eruption perhaps due to the earthquake.
Whatever will happen, God is making it clear that he will protect Israel as he has done in the past. Here are some examples.
Twelve hours after Israel was declared a country, the entire Arab world declared war. The plan was that the various Arab countries were going to attack Israel from several different directions. The new nation had only 3,000 soldiers that included men and woman. They had only about 1000 rifles and about 1000 machine guns. Not even enough for every soldier. Plus Israel only had enough ammunition for a few days. They had no tans and only about 11 planes. The Arab nations were certain that they would wipe out Israel in a day. Yet somehow this tiny poorly defensed nation was able to rout the Arab.
2. Another miracle occurred during the 1967 6 day war. There are numerous miracles that have been documented during that war. Here are a few highlights.
3. An Egyptian tank commander in the Sinai Desert surrendered to a vastly inferior Israeli force on the second day of the war, because a desert mirage made him see hundreds of Israeli tanks where there were no more than a dozen
4. Jordanian forces welcomed the Israeli tanks under the command of Colonel Uri Ram into Shechem on the third day of the war, because faulty communications misled the Arabs into thinking that these were Iraqi tanks come to reinforce them
5. The battle of Ammunition Hill on the northern outskirts of Jerusalem, which was captured by an Israeli scout by mistake when he fell into a Jordanian trench in the moonless night at 2:00 o’clock on Tuesday morning and started shooting form the hip. Capturing this hill was necessary in order to capture the Old City which was done about 3 days later.
6. 1973 Yom Kippur War with God's intervention again. A group of Israeli soldiers in the Golan were carefully making their way to a nearby village on a cloudless October night. Suddenly, the soldiers find themselves in the middle of a mine field. As the soldiers begin to poke around with their bayonets, trying to locate the mines, a strange wind suddenly appears. This wind was so strong that it blew away 18 inches of topsoil from the minefield, exposing over 1,000 mines. As soon as the mines were exposed, the wind ceased, and the men walked out of the field to a moonlit night unharmed.
There are many more stories like this. God has His hand on Israel. Foolish men believe they can destroy Israel. It will be their demise.

Meet the Asiatic Lion: A Journey to Gir National Park
Introduction
India’s wildlife is a treasure trove of biodiversity, home to some of the world’s most iconic and endangered species. Among these, the Asiatic lion stands out as a symbol of strength and resilience. Once widespread across Asia and the Middle East, the Asiatic lion now finds refuge in the Gir National Park in Gujarat, the last bastion of this magnificent predator. A visit to Gir National Park is more than a wildlife safari; it is a journey into the heart of conservation efforts and a chance to witness the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature.
Gir National Park, established in 1965, spans approximately 1,412 square kilometers and is a protected sanctuary dedicated to preserving the Asiatic lion. The park’s diverse ecosystem, encompassing dry deciduous forests, acacia scrublands, and grasslands, supports a variety of flora and fauna, making it a wildlife enthusiast’s paradise. In this blog, we’ll take you on an immersive journey into Gir National Park, exploring its unique wildlife, conservation story, and the unforgettable experience of encountering the majestic Asiatic lion.
The Heart of Gir: Home of the Asiatic Lion
Gir National Park is the sole habitat of the Asiatic lion (Panthera leo persica), a species that once roamed vast territories but is now confined to this protected area. The park's lion population, which was critically endangered in the early 20th century, has seen remarkable recovery due to dedicated conservation efforts. Today, the population exceeds 670 individuals, a testament to the park's success as a wildlife sanctuary.
The Asiatic lion differs slightly from its African cousin. They are smaller in size, with a less prominent mane, and often exhibit a characteristic fold of skin along their belly. Exploring Gir offers a rare opportunity to observe these regal creatures in their natural habitat. The park's well-organized jeep safaris allow visitors to venture deep into the wilderness, guided by expert naturalists who share insights into lion behaviour and the delicate balance of the ecosystem.
The Rich Biodiversity of Gir
While the Asiatic lion is the star attraction, Gir National Park is home to a wide array of wildlife, making it a biodiverse hotspot. The park boasts over 300 species of birds, 38 species of mammals, and numerous reptiles and insects. Key wildlife species include leopards, striped hyenas, Indian jackals, sambar deer, and wild boars. Among the avian residents, the Indian eagle-owl, crested serpent eagle, and painted stork are crowd favorites for birdwatchers.
The unique landscape of Gir plays a significant role in sustaining its biodiversity. The park's rivers, including the Hiran and Raval, provide vital water sources for its inhabitants. During your safari, you might spot crocodiles basking on riverbanks or langurs frolicking in the treetops, adding to the park's vibrant tapestry of life.
Conservation: A Story of Resilience
The story of the Asiatic lion is one of near extinction and miraculous recovery. At the turn of the 20th century, hunting and habitat loss had reduced their numbers to a mere 20 individuals. The Nawab of Junagadh initiated protection measures, banning hunting and designating Gir as a sanctuary. Over the decades, state-led conservation programs have strengthened these efforts, focusing on habitat restoration, anti-poaching measures, and community involvement.
The “Gir Lion Project,” launched in the 1970s, furthered these initiatives, ensuring the lion population's steady growth. Today, Gir National Park serves as a model for wildlife conservation, balancing the needs of local communities and wildlife protection. The Maldhari herdsmen, who live within the park, have played a pivotal role in this success story, showcasing the possibilities of human-wildlife coexistence.
The Gir Safari Experience
Embarking on a safari in Gir is a thrilling experience that immerses you in the park's wild beauty. Safaris are conducted twice daily—in the early morning and late afternoon—when wildlife activity is at its peak. Open jeeps, driven by skilled guides, take visitors through designated trails, offering a chance to spot lions, leopards, and other wildlife up close.
The safari begins with a briefing at the Sinh Sadan Forest Lodge, where visitors are assigned guides and vehicles. As you traverse the rugged terrain, the air buzzes with excitement. Each rustle of leaves or distant roar adds to the anticipation of spotting a lion in the wild.
Beyond the safari, Gir offers eco-tourism experiences such as bird-watching walks, visits to crocodile breeding centres, and cultural interactions with the Maldhari community. These activities enhance your understanding of the park's ecological and cultural richness.
Tips for Planning Your Visit
Timing: The best time to visit Gir National Park is between October and June. The park remains closed during the monsoon season (July to mid-October).
Permits: Safari permits are essential and can be booked online or at the park’s entrance. Booking in advance is recommended, especially during peak seasons.
Guides and Naturalists: Opt for guided safaris to enrich your experience with expert knowledge about the park's wildlife and ecology.
Stay Options: Gir offers a range of accommodations, from luxury resorts to eco-lodges, ensuring comfort while staying close to nature.
Conclusion
A journey to Gir National Park is an unforgettable adventure that connects you with India’s wildlife heritage and conservation success stories. Encountering the Asiatic lion in its natural habitat is a humbling experience, reminding us of the importance of preserving our planet’s biodiversity. Beyond the lions, Gir’s diverse flora and fauna, scenic landscapes, and cultural richness make it a must-visit destination for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts alike.
At Indian Wildlife Safaris, we strive to offer customized, responsible, and immersive experiences that celebrate the wonders of India’s natural world. Whether you’re a seasoned traveller or embarking on your first wildlife safari, a visit to Gir National Park promises memories to cherish for a lifetime. So pack your binoculars, bring your spirit of adventure, and set off to meet the king of the jungle at Gir National Park.

Exodus 38
Making the Altar of Burnt Offering
38 He made the altar of burnt offering of acacia wood. Five cubits was its length, and five cubits its breadth. It was square, and three cubits was its height. 2 He made horns for it on its four corners. Its horns were of one piece with it, and he overlaid it with bronze. 3 And he made all the utensils of the altar, the pots, the shovels, the basins, the forks, and the fire pans. He made all its utensils of bronze. 4 And he made for the altar a grating, a network of bronze, under its ledge, extending halfway down. 5 He cast four rings on the four corners of the bronze grating as holders for the poles. 6 He made the poles of acacia wood and overlaid them with bronze. 7 And he put the poles through the rings on the sides of the altar to carry it with them. He made it hollow, with boards.
Making the Bronze Basin
8 He made the basin of bronze and its stand of bronze, from the mirrors of the ministering women who ministered in the entrance of the tent of meeting.
Making the Court
9 And he made the court. For the south side the hangings of the court were of fine twined linen, a hundred cubits; 10 their twenty pillars and their twenty bases were of bronze, but the hooks of the pillars and their fillets were of silver. 11 And for the north side there were hangings of a hundred cubits; their twenty pillars and their twenty bases were of bronze, but the hooks of the pillars and their fillets were of silver. 12 And for the west side were hangings of fifty cubits, their ten pillars, and their ten bases; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets were of silver. 13 And for the front to the east, fifty cubits. 14 The hangings for one side of the gate were fifteen cubits, with their three pillars and three bases. 15 And so for the other side. On both sides of the gate of the court were hangings of fifteen cubits, with their three pillars and their three bases. 16 All the hangings around the court were of fine twined linen. 17 And the bases for the pillars were of bronze, but the hooks of the pillars and their fillets were of silver. The overlaying of their capitals was also of silver, and all the pillars of the court were filleted with silver. 18 And the screen for the gate of the court was embroidered with needlework in blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen. It was twenty cubits long and five cubits high in its breadth, corresponding to the hangings of the court. 19 And their pillars were four in number. Their four bases were of bronze, their hooks of silver, and the overlaying of their capitals and their fillets of silver. 20 And all the pegs for the tabernacle and for the court all around were of bronze.
Materials for the Tabernacle
21 These are the records of the tabernacle, the tabernacle of the testimony, as they were recorded at the commandment of Moses, the responsibility of the Levites under the direction of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest. 22 Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made all that the Lord commanded Moses; 23 and with him was Oholiab the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, an engraver and designer and embroiderer in blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen.
24 All the gold that was used for the work, in all the construction of the sanctuary, the gold from the offering, was twenty-nine talents and 730 shekels, by the shekel of the sanctuary. 25 The silver from those of the congregation who were recorded was a hundred talents and 1,775 shekels, by the shekel of the sanctuary: 26 a beka a head (that is, half a shekel, by the shekel of the sanctuary), for everyone who was listed in the records, from twenty years old and upward, for 603,550 men. 27 The hundred talents of silver were for casting the bases of the sanctuary and the bases of the veil; a hundred bases for the hundred talents, a talent a base. 28 And of the 1,775 shekels he made hooks for the pillars and overlaid their capitals and made fillets for them. 29 The bronze that was offered was seventy talents and 2,400 shekels; 30 with it he made the bases for the entrance of the tent of meeting, the bronze altar and the bronze grating for it and all the utensils of the altar, 31 the bases around the court, and the bases of the gate of the court, all the pegs of the tabernacle, and all the pegs around the court.
