In October, Salman Khan wrapped up shooting for Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhaiwith a 15-day schedule in Karjat and Mumbai. Since then, the actor, with director Prabhudheva and the production team have been working on the post-production of the film to get it ready for an Eid 2021 release.

We hear, the final edit of the film is about to be locked and not just that, Salman Khan has signed a massive deal for the film’s release. A source tells Bollywood Hungama, “Salman has sold the satellite, theatrical (India + Overseas), digital and music rights of Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhai to Zee Studios for Rs. 230 crores, which is the biggest deal in Covid times. They have been discussing the possibility of collaboration all through the lockdown and the deal was finally cracked early in December. It’s a reasonable deal that has led to a table profit for Salman whereas Zee, too, doesn’t have much risk involved given that Salman’s films command a great return value in terms of digital and satellite viewing side by side music streaming on various platforms.” 

Interestingly, the film was earlier supposed to be released theatrically by YRF globally on a commission basis, however, now, it will be Zee Studios, who have been entrusted with the responsibility. “It’s a blanket deal, and a beginning of partnership for the two. Salman’s production, Kaagaz featuring Pankaj Tripathi, too, is seeing a premiere on Zee’s streaming platform. He also has a multi-film satellite deal with Zee Network and his last 3 releases – Race 3, Bharat and Dabangg 3 – saw the world television premiere on Zee Cinema,” the trade source added. Radhe also features Disha Patani as the female lead and Randeep Hooda as the antagonist with Jackie Shroff in a pivotal role of a cop. The movie is the official remake of Korean Film, The Outlaws, and is gearing up for an Eid 2021 release in theatres. Salman recently celebrated his 55th birthday and is currently enjoying the Christmas holidays at his Panvel Farm. In January first week, he will resume shooting for Antim: The Final Truth alongside Aayush Sharma and then move on to Tiger 3 from March 2021.

Salman Khan turns 55: Actor says he wasn't in a mood to celebrate birthday in 'terrible' 2020

Superstar Salman Khan on Sunday turned a year older but the actor decided to go low-key for his 55th birthday celebrations considering the "terrible year" 2020 has been due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Khan, who is spending his birthday with his family and close friends at his Panvel farmhouse, interacted with a select media and cut a cake in the early hours of Sunday.

"There are no celebrations this year, it's just me and my family here and no one else. I wasn't in a mood to celebrate my birthday as this has been a terrible year for everyone and a lot of people from the industry have passed away. So, it doesn't call for celebration," Khan told the reporters.

The Bollywood star urged his fans to follow COVID-19 protocols in order to remain safe amid the pandemic.

"I just hope everyone is happy, healthy and safe and are wearing masks. Keep washing your hands and maintain social distancing so that everybody remains safe," he said.

The "Bharat" star said he wishes 2021 turns out be a great year for everybody.

Hindi film personalities, including Khan's father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, sister Alvira Agnihotri, actors Sunil Grover, Sooraj Pancholi, Zaheer Iqbal, Nikitin Dheer, Kratika Sengar and casting director Mukesh Chhabra, attended the intimate birthday gathering.

On Saturday, Khan had appealed to his fans to not throng outside his house in suburban Bandra on the occasion of his birthday due to the pandemic and also informed he is not at home.

“The love and affection of my fans over the years has been overwhelming on my birthdays but this year it is my humble request not to crowd outside my house keeping the COVID pandemic and social distancing norms in mind,” Khan said in the notice displayed outside his building.

On the work front, the actor has begun shooting for his upcoming film, "Antim- The Final Truth", in which he is said to be playing a Sikh cop.

The film also starring his brother-in-law, actor Aayush Sharma, is reportedly a remake of the 2018 hit Marathi crime drama "Mulshi Pattern".

While the original was helmed by Marathi actor-filmmaker Pravin Tarde, the remake will be directed by actor-filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar

Khan is also hosting the latest season of the reality show "Bigg Boss".

He will next be seen on the big screen in "Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhai", directed by Prabhudheva. The film's shoot was completed in October.

Also starring Disha Patani and Randeep Hooda, "Radhe" was earlier slated to hit the theatres on May 22 but got delayed due to the pandemic.

Salman Khan was gearing up for yet another Eid release, the action thriller Radhe, when the nationwide lockdown brought film shoots to a halt across the country. Since March, the actor has been at his farmhouse in Panvel with friends, acquaintances and some family members. He, however, kept his Eid tradition by releasing a single “Bhai Bhai”, which speaks of Hindu-Muslim unity in India. The song was unveiled on the eve of the festival. “The idea had been brewing in Salman’s mind for a while. He wrote the lyrics and sent it to composer-friends Sajid-Wajid, who picked out material from their music bank and set the song to tune the same day. Salman then shot the music video, which features him just walking around his farm. Since it was a simple shoot, it could be done at short notice, with an assistant recording him on a digi-cam,” informed a source. Salman has been working back-to-back, on films like Race 3, Bharat, Dabangg 3 and Radhe, over the last few years and this lockdown has been a much-needed break. “But Bhai is a workaholic; he has already shot for and released three music videos and is planning to continue the flow. He is writing songs, singing them, shooting them and working on the edit simultaneously.” While Eid is usually family time for Salman, this year, the Khans were apart, but the actor greeted them and his team virtually over video calls. He continued with philanthropy as well, distributing special kits of ingredients to make sheer qorma to over 5000 underprivileged families in Mumbai. Mirror had earlier reported that the actor is teaming up with Aayush Sharma and LoveYatri director Abhiraj Minawala on a gangster-drama, in which he plays a no-nonsense Sikh cop to Aayush’s gangster. “Even before the lockdown started, Abhiraj was at the farm and they have since locked the final draft. But they are in no hurry to roll with it. A meeting with all stakeholders will take place once Salman is back in Mumbai, and based on the safety protocols, will decide when the film will kick off,” the source added.

Before this gangster-drama, Salman will wrap up the Prabhudheva-directed Radhe. Around 20 days’ shoot remains, which includes two songs. A major chunk of the post-production will begin only once the shooting is done. “It is a stylish, lavishly-mounted actioner and they will wait to release it in the theatres. His slate for the next two years is locked with Radhe, the untitled gangster-drama, Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali with Sajid Nadiadwala and Tiger 3. There were half a dozen offers before the pandemic and Salman will decide on them once normalcy returns,” the source concluded.
