Retreat Ending
This blizzard was turning out to be more troubling than anyone could have predicted. While the camp seemed to be nearly untouched by the storm, it was hitting harder and stronger all around, preventing anyone from driving on or off the mountain.
The adults were all trying to put their heads together to find a way off the mountain. They had planned for this to only be a short trip and as the departure date was coming up, there was an eagerness to have everything solved by the day they had planned to leave. However, every phone call they made to repair shops was returned with an apology. It would appear this trip would be lasting longer than foretold.
With a heavy heart, all citizens and students were gathered in the main hall for the announcement. Everything was already discussed with the owner and he had been more than understanding with the situation. There was no other option and they had to stay until the storm was gone and there was no way of knowing when that would be. It wasn't easy to deliver the bad news either. As much fun as this trip had turned out to be, packed items could only go so far.
"I know this wasn't the destination of choice." The owner spoke up, stroking his white beard as he stared at all the guests. "But I want you all to have a merry time while you're here and try not to let this storm bring you down." He gave a reassuring smile and nod to everyone, depicting himself as a jolly host in his old age. "Even if you can't leave in the morning, please try and get a good nights rest." With that, the meeting was over and everyone was excused. Nothing else could be done.
In the morning, everything was quiet. Most of the staff were up and checking the weather outside. What they say had most of them in shock, eyes bulged and jaws dropped. Their buses were parked neatly in the parking lot, tires fixed and engines looking brand new. The drivers had no clue to who had fixed their rides and none of the staff received a call of payment from any businesses. It was a complete mystery, but within a couple hours everyone was entering the bus with one more surprise. On each seat was a small present for each and every person. Each gift had an individual name written on a tag and there was no one left out. Students, citizens, and staff all received a gift.
When the staff tried to find the camp owner, he was nowhere to be found. His office was empty and there was a cold chill that filled the room as if it had never been heated, but they couldn't waste anymore time. They simply left a note of where to contact them as far as payment would go and said thank you. Now they were on their way home to Bunkyo.
A few days later, the staff had yet to receive a call from the owner and it worried them that he didn't find the note. Payment for the unexpected stay was something they needed to do to show their appreciation. They called 1-0-4 for information and described the camp and where it was in hopes to get a hold of the owner, but the operator came back with some disturbing news. "We're sorry, but there is no record of such a place ever existing." It was truly puzzling. Upon further research, all the schools could find were strange stories online of a mysterious place they found from being lost or stuck and an old man that owned it. Some even made comments of him looking like a "grizzly Santa," though that was just silly.
Nothing could explain the odd events that happened up on that mountain from the odd storm to the buses being fixed to the presents left on the seats. It would probably never be solved either because if the operator was right and that camp didn't exist, Ouran and Spica didn't expect they'd ever hear from that jolly old man again.

Snow Practice No Practice ♛ Senna
He wanted to try to build some more muscle. After all, since sand made movements tough and helped his footing, couldn't snow do the same? That was what Kageyama thought, however it proved to be incorrect. Maybe he was getting some muscle training, but he was hardly even doing anything. He brought a volleyball and moved to a place where the snow as deep, far away from anyone else so he wouldn't get distracted.
The first difficulty was actually sinking in the snow. He picked a place where he thought would be good training, but the snow was frozen and all that happened was him slipping a couple of times. He then moved to a place that ended up sinking too easily, resulting in him ending up in waist level snow, which really didn't help anything at all.
He was getting irritable and was thinking about just giving up. He knew that this trip was a complete waste of time. Why couldn't he just practice volleyball without getting interrupted? He sighed. Maybe some control practices would be better. Would he be able to do that here? He could make marks in the snow to indicate the targets. Yeah, he'll just do that.
Despite his initial enthusiasm, It wasn't going all that well, the ball would make slight marks in the snow to show where it had fallen, but at times it was hard to tell if the mark was from the ball or if it was from something else. He sighed and kicked the ball out of mere frustration, but when he went to get the ball back, he was surprised to find someone standing there in front of the ball.

Grizzly Friends || Kotarou&Shinichi
Maybe he shouldn't have been trying all those stunts like he did. But, at the time the idea didn't seem too bad and he was bored. He couldn't seem to locate Kazu or even Ran, and he didn't feel up to making small talk with people. So, he grabbed a snowboard and took the lift up the mountain. After a while going down the same path a couple of times it wasn't that interesting, so the detective shifted his direction to go down away from the rest of the group.
It wasn't bad at first, Shinichi managed to find a place with good bumps and a good steep to go down. However, in one bad landing, he managed to lose his board, his strap breaking and the board slipping away from his feet. The fall was embarrassing more than anything and Shinichi luckily didn't feel like he had gotten any serious injuries.
He shifted so he was on his knees and looked around for the board. Luckily it didn't seem that damaged either. However, when he reached for it, he found himself unable to move, his foot had gotten caught on a root. Grumbling to himself and his luck, really why couldn't he enjoy a trip without something happening to him, Shinichi attempted to untangle himself from the root. It wasn't so easy, his pants had ripped and intertwined, making him stuck.
He was close to freeing himself, at the expense of his pants that would forever be ruined, but before he could free himself completely, he heard a low growl. Feeling dread creep up on him, Shinichi slowly turned around and was faced with a bear, very tall on its back legs and who looked very angry as he roared just a few feet away from the detective. Shinichi's mind raced to try to come up with a way out of this situation, but he came up with nothing. Just great.

ωσи∂єяℓαи∂ ☁ Noctis
Orihime had been immediately captivated by the idea of a mountain get-away, though she'd had some misgivings about leaving her oba-san alone for an extended period of time while she went off to have fun. Eventually, however, both her aunt and the regular nurse who took care of her during the day assured her that everything would be under control. Thus, she had found herself a passenger on the very bus which had suffered an unfortunate accident. While that had certainly put a slight damper on the atmosphere, she couldn't help but think it made this latest adventure she'd embarked on that much more exciting! She certainly wasn't displeased with their new lodgings. The campsite had a sort of rustic appeal that she found comfortable enough, and she was looking forward to getting to know her cabin mates.
The first few days had gone by without a hitch, and Orihime was enjoying herself immensely. There was one thing she had not yet done, however, and that was explore more of the area. While they were not permitted to leave the campsite after dark, they were certainly allowed during the day, so she decided to take the lull between activities on this day do to exactly that.
"I'll be back, minna-san ~!" she called to the few girls that were currently lazing about the cabin, offering a jaunty wave of her hand as she finished securing her scarf to block against the chill of the air.
'It's like a winter wonderland!' Orihime mused, gazing in awe at the icy beauty of the scene that met her gaze once she'd emerged from the cabin. Everywhere she looked was a pure white color left mostly untainted by outside forces. Clumps of snow clung to the branches of the trees lining the edge of the camp ground, a barricade between them and the wilderness beyond. Her excitement grew further, and she skipped merrily through the snow toward the beaten trail that led from the camp.
As she traveled along, Orihime paid little attention to where she was going, choosing instead to observe her surroundings for any traces of wildlife. If she were to be honest with herself, she was hoping to see a rabbit, or even a deer! She wasn't sure if there were any such animals around this mountain, but the possibility alone was enough to keep her alert. Orihime figured that she would be safe, considering the path was well marked, and she should be able to simply turn around and head back the way she came when the time arrived to return to the campsite. However, she hadn't taken into consideration her ability to wonder a little off from the direction she'd intended, an unfortunate side effect that occurred when one became lost in a daydream. Before she knew what was happening, the ground fell out from beneath her feet, and her body dropped as a result of the weight of the gravity yanking her along with it.
"Itai...W-What happened...?" Orihime took a moment to examine her surroundings, and wasn't exactly surprised to find herself in a deep hole with smooth, slanting sides. It would be nearly impossible to drag herself up to freedom, but she pulled herself up and decided to try, anyway. After all, she couldn't stay down here forever! All her efforts were for naught, however, and she quickly resigned herself to the knowledge that she wouldn't be able to escape so easily. Her only hope was --
'Just now...Was that --?' Before she could finish her thoughts, the sound came again, and Orihime immediately recognized it for what it was: footsteps. There was another person about, someone who might be able to help! Clearing her throat, Orihime called out, raising her voice to a pitch she hoped would be heard despite the distance, "E-Excuse me...! C-Can you...I'm down here! Please, i-if it's not too much trouble, could you h-help me...?"

נυѕт συя ℓυ¢к || Jean
"Group Dancer? What the hell kind of pansy name is that --?" Kiba mumbled to himself as he set about making up the bottom bunk that had been allotted to him.
He was still more than a little sore at being forced to leave Akamaru behind by the administration. Even though the trip was almost halfway over, it still bothered him. Apparently, the big dog was just too much of a liability. Emitting a low growl that expressed all his disgust at having his partner being referred to as nothing more than property, Kiba applied a little more force than necessary in yanking the covers over the mattress, resulting in the fabric loosening once again. Giving up the task as a lost cause, the Inuzuka turned to cast a surveying glance around the cabin, hoping to find something more...his style to occupy his time.
Honestly, when he'd decided to go on this trip, he'd thought that it would be a lot more exciting than it turned out. Sure, there'd been quite the interesting turn of events at the start, but after that, things had sort of settled. Kiba was practically squirming from the need to go out and do something, anything, so long as he was being more active than this. Honestly, it was at times like this that he almost regretted leaving home to come to school in Bunkyo. 'What the hell was I thinking? Nothing fun happens around here.'
His ears twitched, and a moment later the door opened to reveal one of the many 'chaperones,' some nameless teacher from Ouran. The man looked around the room, a look of distaste on his face at the sight of the miscellaneous debris that was bound to accumulate when one placed a couple of teenage boys together for too long before settling on him and the only other person currently in the cabin.
"You two want to do us a favor? We're in need of some kindling and such. You'll probably have to go a little further up the mountain, but you should be fine. The owner of this place assured us that there's nothing very dangerous about the woods around here. How about it?"
The tone in which he spoke made it clear that he expected immediate acquiescence, and Kiba bristled a little as a result. Not that he wasn't thankful for the opening; after all, he'd just been thinking about getting out and finding some way to be useful, or at least rid himself o his boredom. It was just the mere fact that they were all but being ordered to comply that had him meeting the older male's gaze defiantly.
Grunting in annoyance, he muttered, "Yeah, yeah. Why the hell not? Sure beats sticking around here any longer. Bunch of tight asses --"
After releasing a long suffering sigh, the man just shook his head and walked away, apparently satisfied with Kiba's agreement and taking that as a sure thing. Turning to face the other male, Kiba recalled that his name was Kirschstein. Something Kirschstein. They might have shared one or two classes together back at Spica, but he hadn't actually had a chance to talk to him until this trip. 'Well, I guess maybe it won't be that bad...'
"Hey, you okay with this? You don't have to come along if ya don't want. I mean, the guy said there's nothin' dangerous out there, so I can handle gathering a couple of little sticks," Kiba stated, shoving his hands into his pockets and looking away in disinterest.
It'd be nice to have some company, but it wasn't necessary. He meant what he said. Gathering a few pieces of wood should be no trouble at all. Grabbing the scarf that he'd bought in Bunkyo before the trip, he wound it around his neck and prepared to leave, not bothering to check to see if Kirschstein was doing the same.

α sιℓεηт ηιgнт || σρεη~
Current Phase: Waning Crescent. Current Illumination: 22.3%
Pristine snow glittered like millions of diamonds had been embedded into its surface-- as if a blanket of white had grown over the earth. Just as unforgiving as the cold, hard ground, and yet-- serene enough to be granted the titles 'beautiful' or 'tranquil'. There were many things that Arcanna could pick out about this time of year that he liked and just as many that he didn't, it seemed. So he supposed winter was neither liked nor disliked. Though he did tend to enjoy being warm over cold-- and the frost did contest with that.
A sigh left parted lips, billowing out into the crisp night in tendrils of mock smoke, the molecules of his breath crystallizing and freezing almost instantly. That in itself brought slight joy to the hybrid, as he sat atop the roof of his cabin bundled in layers of clothing. He smirked, letting his breathing flow out in an audible 'hahh~' in order to once again make the snowy effect. It was simple, granted, though he guessed it fun nonetheless.
Almost as soon as the delight had crossed his face, it faded, replaced by furrowed brows and darkened crimson irises as they turned towards the waning moon. That dreaded time grew near once more, just as it did every month without fail, and just as it would do for the rest of his pathetic life. The New Moon was something inescapable.
It blackens the night sky just as my existence does...
He knew he and his cabin-mates, as well as the rest of the school population and other's attending the trip, were not allowed out at night for fear of safety or anything that could do wrong. And yet it didn't stop him from remaining outside, where he was free of the burden that was sleeping in the same confines as multiple people. Here he could think and breathe, at least until somebody noticed him that was.

Blind-Sided || Hinata & Toph
Leaning against the headboard of her bunk, Toph grumbled under the many layers of blankets and covers she had been given to ward off the blasted cold. Even with the heat on, a chilling breeze would rip through the room and hit her like a slap in the face.
Someone must have left a window open.
Dammit. The floor was wooden, and even if she could see, she had no inclination to get up from the warmth of her bed to fumble around for a window that may not even be in the immediate area.
Stupid snow...stupid field trip from hell...
It was to her everlasting disappointment that Toph had signed up for this trip with hopes that it would be a better alternative to returning to her parents' home for the break. When it got to around 50 degrees, she quickly regretted the decision.
There was nothing to do for it, however. She had chosen to attend, and come hell or high water -hopefully not- she would face this thing head on.
That didn't, however, mean she had to enjoy it.
In her home town of Gaoling, so near to the Si Wong Desert, the temperature never went below 60 at the lowest. To so suddenly be met with freezing temperatures was less than tolerable.
She shuddered violently in bed, hoping that no one would notice her absence during the scheduled group activity time. She could make out the voices of the people in her cabin and those of others pairing off for the much-awaited (or in Toph's case: much-dreaded) scavenger hunt.
Maybe if she stayed really still and quiet, no one would bother to notice her: a lump of fabric on the bottom bed in the far corner of the sleeping quarters.
Just then, the light steps of one of her cabin-mates echoes in the cold, bare room. She froze (no pun intended). or rather stayed as still as one could be when shivering violently.
Just then, with a swiftness that caught her by surprise...
Achooo!
She sneezed with such fervor that it rocked her whole body. The sound cut through the air like a gunshot, and it was no doubt noticed by the visitor.
Well. There went her plan to stay hidden...

Tsumetai~! // [Event Open]
"Mou~. Maybe I should have gone to Oba-san's for winter beak after all..." Shizuka stared around the camp a little glumly. This was not what she had signed up for when it came to the field trip! Admittedly, she couldn't really blame anyone, all the buses breaking down couldn't be more than just terrible luck! (Right?) And the fact that they had found a campsite, one that they were free to use, was a good thing. So why was she so annoyed?
Sighing, Shizuka leaned against the wall of her cabin, looking into the sky. She supposed she was upset because her plans were now awry. After postponing her trip to her her brother and grandmother over Christmas break to go to Mt Kita, the fact that that had been abruptly cancelled was enough to push the usually easy-going duelist into sulking territory. That, coupled with the fact that her mother was unable to get back from Singapore could also explain her mood.
About to delve even further into depression and self-pity, Shizuka was suddenly torn from her thoughts as a cold winds whipped around her without warning, kicking up snow and penetrating through her thin jacket and scarf.
"KYAAA~! TSUMETAI~!"
Hmmm, maybe staying outside with blizzard on the way wasn't the best idea....

Getting Over the Pain // Kazu and Ran
Ran shivered, stepping out of her cabin and into the snow. The campsite they were staying in was pretty, but a far cry for the resort at Mt Kita that they had originally intended on going to. In fact, to say that this trip had taken an unexpected turn was an understatement,
After the disaster with the buses that had effectively derailed their planned winter vacation, Ran had walked with the others, keeping her thoughts to herself. In actual fact, she'd spent most of the walk trying to avoid both Kazu and Shinichi, her mind constantly replaying the disastrous confrontation she and Kazu had had at Shinichi's house about a month ago. When they'd both tried and failed to get answers from the detective and Ran had ended up punching him in the face out of pure frustration.
Back to the present, Ran shook her head and sighed. One month, and she'd been unable to talk with either of them, bar confronting Shinichi with those strange rumors last week.... And it wasn't that she didn't want to talk to either of them, she did! But everything was too tense and awkward right now. It was best to stay quiet and keep the fragile peace than it was to go prying and possibly risk losing Shinichi forever.
Walking towards the edge of the camp, Ran was almost deaf to the noises of enjoyment from her cabin mates and the others. She hadn't even intended going on this trip, but her father had talked her into it. As far as he was concerned, she needed a break after the hectic three months that had resulted from moving to Bunkyo. Still, in a way, she was happy to be here. In comparison to Mt Kita, this place was nice and quiet. It would give her the perfect opportunity to absorb everything that had happened in the last few months and let her return to Bunkyo in a better frame of mind. (Hopefully.) In any case, it was a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of living in a ward of Tokyo. And hopefully, she could use this time to sort though her feeling for Shinichi and Kazu, and hopefully repair things.
Smiling a little to herself, Ran sat on a nearby log, simply taking in the beauty of the campsite. In fact, if it wasn't for the rumors of monsters, she'd be more than happy to live here permanently! She repressed a little shiver at the thought of monsters lurking in the forest beyond. No, don't think of that. Hurriedly, she got to her knees on the snow, ignoring how the cold and damp seeped through to her knees and started piling snow together, rolling into a small clump. Then she kept rolling, until that clump became a small ball, then a slightly larger one. In fact, Ran became so engrossing into packing the snow into a bigger and bigger ball that she didn't notice someone approach her....

Collision ♛ Kotarou and Kageyama
Even if there were no volleyball here, Kageyama was still determined to do some training. He wasn't sure how he ended up in this school when there was no team, but he wasn't about to allow his condition to get worse because of it. Would running around in the snow be able to build up his leg muscles like sand at the beach would? He would have to try that later to find out.
For now, he needed food. He was starving. He grabbed a plate and loaded it with food and looked for a place to sit and eat before stretching and starting his warm ups. The place was really crowded, all sorts of people squeezing in trying to fit in one room. Almost all the seats were taken, but if Kageyama looked above all the heads, he could just make out an unoccupied seat. Rushing over before someone else could take the spot, the setter didn't see the person in his way before it was too late.
Stumbling back, Kageyama glared down at his shirt and the spilled food. "Tch." He looked over at the other who seemed to be in the same position as him. As irritated as he was, he did suppose that it was his fault, rushing as he was. Since it was his fault...he should apologize, right? The volleyball player looked down at the other who was a good four centimeters shorter than him. Now that he was looking, this person seemed familiar... Ah, he was a cabin mate, wasn't he? Great... "...my bad." Kageyama half growled, though he did mean the apology. He was practically glaring down at the other, but that wasn't intentional either.

Filed || Tohru&Shinichi
Shinichi may spend too much time on his work, but even he didn't mean to work on the trip. There wasn't much he could do, out in the mountains without a way to contact the police station. However, as he was unpacking his belongings, Shinichi noticed that he mistakenly packed a couple of case files. He groaned. They were old and already solved and was supposed to be returned to the station, but he forgot to drop them off. Luckily they didn't get damaged, but he didn't want to take the risk of them getting damaged in the future.
He didn't want to face Megure if he got the files damaged. He worked up a good reputation among the officers, and he didn't want to have to start over. It was bad enough having to start over after he returned from being Conan. It was hard to pretend that he didn't know the officers when he had spent a lot of time when he was a seven year old. He wanted to keep his good impression and ruining the files would be one way to damper it.
He gathered up the files and walked towards the main cabin where he hoped he could find some sort of bag with a zip that he could place the files in. However, maybe he shouldn't have been walking around with police files, since as he turned the corner he bumped into someone and the files scattered around the floor. Most was faced down, but they would get wet if Shinichi didn't pick them up soon. "Sorry!" He called over his shoulder to whoever he had bumped into. The apology didn't sound to genuine, but Shinichi was too busy trying to collect his files to worry about manners.

All staff members as well as residents of Bunkyo not attending school will also share cabins based on gender. The maximum number of people per cabin still applies. If you do not see your name on the list and would like to be added, send us a message and we will fix it right away. All groups with the same name are bunked together. For example, Group Comet of Spica and Group Comet of Ouran are rooming together in the same cabin. If you are confused about anything or have a question do not hesitate to message us and ask. ^^

Downhill || Arthur&Shinichi
Despite the sudden change of plans, no one really seemed to mind. Shinichi himself didn’t mind the shift, the place was nice enough anyways. They were really lucky to have found such a convenient place. A small group of students and teachers were gathered up for a hiking trip. Shinichi also took part in the hike, he wanted to get a good idea of the land and where they were.
It was just supposed to be a simple hike. Go up the mountain and if people started to get tired or when it got too late, they would head back. There wasn't a real goal and it was supposed to be just for fun. However, whether it was just bad timing or the fact that Shinichi apparently couldn't go anywhere without something going wrong, as they were going into the forest, the rocks under Shinichi's foot fell and the detective fell with them. It was so sudden that he didn't even have time to call out or grab anything. Though, he thought that he saw someone turn around and go after him, he didn't have time to double check since he had to brace himself for the fall.
It wasn't that long of a drop down, but Shinichi still wasn't so thrilled to be falling from this height. He did his best to relax his body, and tried to maneuver himself so that he would hit a small ledge that he saw on the way down. He assumed it wouldn't be enough to stop his fall judging from the size, and he was right for it broke right when he landed on it, but it did help lessen the distance of the fall. As he approached the ground, Shinichi was lucky enough to have landed on his feet, though he then fell on his back. It hurt a lot, but he didn't think he was damaged that badly. Groaning from the situation he found himself in, Shinichi looked up from the fall he had taken to see someone coming down towards him, in a much more controlled way than Shinichi.

Unbreakable Bonds || Ran&Shinichi
The snow just wasn't letting up. The weather outside was just getting worse, so everyone was told to come back inside. It put a damper on things, there were too many people to just stay indoors even if the cabins were all roomy. Everyone was just itching to get outside. Shinichi himself didn't mind staying indoors, he had brought along his books and often was cooped inside reading back at home as well.
He hadn't talked much with his cabin roommates, but that was okay as long as he wasn't disturbed. Everyone seemed fine doing their own thing. As everyone was ushered inside, the detective overheard a group of girls talking. Shinichi would have normally just tuned them out, but the panic in their whispers reached his ears and alerted him. From what it sounded like, someone was missing. A girl who had gone up the mountain hadn't came back down. Shinichi frowned and when he asked who it was, his heart almost stopped. Of course.
Before he knew it, he was running away from the group and into the blizzard that was just getting worse by the minute. He ignored the shouts for him to come back, he ignore that he didn't have any idea where he was going, he ignored that he probably had almost no chance of finding her in such a storm in an unfamiliar area, he just ran. After all, after everything they have been through, how could he not? Things changed between them, their relationship was strained, but Shinichi was never going to abandon her. He found her time and time again. He would do it this time too.
Squinting, trying to see anything in the snowstorm, the detective called out as loud as he could. He called her name again and again, trying to listen for any voice calling him back. He gritted his teeth, how long was she out here? Was she still conscious? She better be... Rummaging through his pockets, Shinichi took out the watch that Agasa made back in his Conan days and turned it on. The light didn't reach far in the snow, but it was a bit better. He continued to call out her name, ignoring how his voice got slightly strained. "RAN!"
