“Look, there’s the Big Dipper!” Natalie exclaimed, pointing up at the stars. Lucifer followed her gaze, then laughed under his breath.

Reaching up, he grabbed her hand, and guided her finger quite a ways to the left. 

“No, that’s the Big Dipper,” he said, turning his head to look at her from his spot beside her on the blanket.

With the dark pieces of his background she’s gleaned, she finds it easier to be sympathetic to the frequency of his ups and downs, though that doesn’t make them any less frustrating. 

But the more time they spend together, the more she warms towards him, too. His sullenness is endearing at times, and she catches herself provoking him into teasing her so she can watch the way his bright eyes dance with mirth. When his gaze lingers a little too long, she makes sure to return the look in kind. When it’s his touch, she leans into it and hopes that he can’t tell that she’s holding her breath, or how her heart stumbles over its rhythm.

His breath was hot on her skin, and she couldn’t help but shiver at his nearness, at the way they fit together. 

Creator, did he know? Did he know how close she was to being undone by him?

consider... anthea practicing her dance routine and zadkiel appearing and murmuring in her ear softly "no, like this, little bird", and slowly guiding her hips 👀

listen... listen. you get exactly what this ship dynamic is about. the seduction, the danger, it’s SO GOOD. knives are a must, and zadkiel would be just as turned on by anthea holding one to their throat as they’d be holding one to hers. the dance one is also delicious. anthea is a professional and knows damn well what she’s doing, but fuck if it isn’t nice to have zad’s lips at her ear and their hands on her hips and her back to their chest. it’s all about the indulgence!!

daevabad question: what do you think the ~actual~ ending of eog is going to be? (what i'm asking is do you think there's any actual hope for dara and nahri? please say yes lol)

what a loaded question goodness. I have many hopes and many fears for eog and honestly there’s so much that needs to happen I can’t begin to predict the ending with the extremely limited knowledge we have from the first two books.

that, paired with the fact that shannon has said the ending is fair, doesn’t make me optimistic for a fairy tale happily ever after. that’s not to say that there’s no hope though! I don’t think a fairy tale ending would fit daevabad anyways, it’s not realistic (as much as I want a happily ever after for all of them, they’ve been through so much). my ideal ending for dara and nahri would be them going their separate ways for a few years to heal and grow individually and then finding each other again when they’re ready. I don’t believe, after everything that’s happened, that there’s a way to tie their relationship up in a neat little bow immediately. there’s definitely gonna have to be work done there, but I don’t think it’s completely out of the question for them to one day rekindle what they had in cob!
