Philippines:  I'm kind of glad that the Philippines turned out to be a guy in canon I know people were upset because a lot of fanon interpretations saw him as being a girl but, idk how to explain it without sounding insane or self hating LMAO but I feel like the Philippines being a guy makes seeing ships like Spain x Philippines and America x Philippines less uhh gross to look at. I mean I definitely don't ship those ships but its leaves a grosser taste in my mouth when I see Spain x woman Philippines for example, purely because we uhh all know what the Spaniards did to the women here lol.

I'm not saying that someones a bad person if they ship those ships I mean at the end of the day it's all fictional and people can do what they want, it's no biggie, I just think a lot of people in the hetalia fandom still don't have the ability to be nuanced about ships between countries with complicated histories. I have yet to see a well done analysis on how Spain x Philippines or America x Philippines would realistically work outside of people shipping it purely because it's a coloniser x colonised ship. I'm sure that a hetalia fan who is informed and can give a nuanced take can probably make me tolerate those ships but for now, no not really. . So if Philippines was a girl I feel like a lot of Spain x Philippines content or America x Philippines content would be a lot more disgusting and f3tishistic because Filipinas are already f3tishised.

Also when it's coloniser x colonised and the only reason why those two countries know each other is because one of them sailed across the world to invade the other one unprovoked, it's different from two nations who are neighbours and who war with each other if that makes sense. I think it would be different if Spain and the Philippines were like, neighbours who've fought each other for centuries and who subjugated each other and maybe I'd even like it if that was so, but it's just not the case (this is all coming from a Filipino)

“How have we gotten to this so quickly?” ASEAN asked, pinching the bridge of his nose.

“Hey, you were the one who gave us thirty minutes to gossip. This is not on us,” Philippines said, breaking off from his conversation with Singapore, Papua New Guinea, Brunei, and Malaysia about how much they hated Britain or something along those lines. He was pretty sure Britain had been mentioned.

It was a surprise Myanmar hadn’t joined them, but he seemed content to stare out the window and ignore them.

“That was not an invitation to start gossiping,” ASEAN said, feeling so very tired.

“You lock us in a meeting room all day and expect us not to start gossiping,” ASEAN’s mother, Thailand, asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Would you rather I beat up Indonesia again? Because we can do that if you’d like,” East Timor offered unhelpfully, even though he was supposed to be an observer state.

“No beating people up. Timor, I know you and Indonesia have your differences—”

“He tortured me!”

“I did not!” Indonesia snapped, turning to stare down the smaller country, who simply shot him a rude gesture.

“Please. Stop this. You, except for Cambodia, are all much older than me. You should know that this is an important meeting, and we need to pay attention to it,” ASEAN finished, shooting his member states with a tired smile.

“We will,” Brunei said with a dismissive wave of her hand, “After I finish catching everyone up on the fact that I heard from Commonwealth, who heard from Scotland, that Britain has started therapy.”

ASEAN blinked. Britain getting therapy. Miracles could happen.

“Huh. Never thought I would see that day. Continue then, but make it short. The sooner we finish, the sooner we can go home,” ASEAN said. Laos laughed.

“Tired of us already?” he asked.

“I’m tired of you all the time,” ASEAN said.

“Then you are truly one of us,” Vietnam joked. ASEAN almost asked her who she was tired of but stopped, realizing it was a stupid question.

“We’re all constantly tired. Let us joke a little, pretend to be human,” Singapore said, “We don’t get very much time to do that.”

“Because God forbid we be treated like people,” Papua New Guinea, ASEAN’s other observer state, muttered. ASEAN felt a sliver of guilt in his stomach, very familiar with that feeling. They all experienced some sort of discrimination due to their species. For some, it was worse. For others, it was better.

ASEAN was very familiar with it. He was the organization, the political being that could feel nothing.

“Sorry. I’m just…stressed.” ASEAN said, relaxing. His mother patted his arm, smiling softly.

“We know. You put too much on yourself. We have learned that sometimes, it is better to take breaks,” Thailand said. ASEAN smiled.

“Thank you, mâae,” he said.

“Besides, you can’t say you don’t want to get involved in one of the world’s favorite hobbies—gossiping about Britain,” Malaysia said. ASEAN rolled his eyes.

“Please, I know you do more than just gossip. And Myanmar hasn’t joined you, so clearly, it’s not everyone’s favorite,” ASEAN argued.

“Leave me out of this!” Myanmar called, turning away from the window for the first time.

“Well, you heard the man. Myanmar wants to leave ASEAN. Cast your votes now to get Mr. Grumpy to leave,” Cambodia said. ASEAN let his head fall to the table.

Did you know badminton runs in Soh Wooi Yik’s family lines? His father and maternal uncle are former badminton players. His dad won the bronze medal at the 1983 SEA Games in the doubles category. His uncle won the 1992 Thomas Cup.

Soh started playing badminton when he was just four years old. At the tender age of six, he became a professional player playing singles games. However, the Badminton Association of Malaysia quickly recognized his potential as a doubles player, and the rest is history.

Soh was the runner-up in the U-15 singles and doubles categories at the 2012 Badminton Asia Youth U-15 & U-17 Championships. In 2015, he partnered with Aaron Chia to play in the final of the Malaysia Junior International.

Soh also partnered with Ooi Zi Heng to win gold at the 2015 ASEAN School Games. His performance earned him a place in the national back-up squad.

In 2016, Soh and Ooi Zi Heng won the bronze medal at the Asian Junior Championships. In November of the same year, he secured the silver medal in the mixed category at the 2016 BWF World Junior Championships. Later, he suffered several injuries that put him out of the badminton court for many months.

In 2017, Soh partnered with Chen Tang Jie to win a silver at the Malaysia International and Waikato International. He later formed a team with his former teammate Aaron Chia to win a silver at India International. In the coming years, they continued to excel at international competitions such as Vietnam International, Malaysia International, BWF World Championships, and SaarLorLux Open.

Their team won the silver at the All-England Open in 2019 and a gold medal at the doubles event at the 2019 SEA Games. He also helped the Malaysian team to win the silver at the 2019 SEA Games and the 2020 Badminton Asia Team Championships.

Soh and Chia won a silver at the 2021 BWF World Tour final at the Thailand Open tournament. They secured a bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics. He also won a bronze at the 2021 Sudirman Cup.

He helped the Malaysian men's team to win gold at the 2022 Badminton Asia Team Championships. As a part of the men’s doubles team, Soh and Chia won the silver medal at the 2022 Badminton Asia Championships final.

THAILAND

You go thrifting for sunglasses. Thailand has an entire closet full of sunglasses that he collects. He’s not sure what started this, but every time he sees a pair of sunglasses, no matter how ridiculous they may look, Thailand will bring it home. This includes colorful children’s sunglasses. Bonus points if they have little elephants on them.

In fact, Toto also has a collection of sunglasses. They have little pretend fashion shows where the only fashion is sunglasses, and Toto wins every time.

Because he is literally the country itself, he’s expected to perform Muay Thai a lot, so Thailand’s been attending many martial arts classes, and encourages you to take them along with him, so he can rest well knowing his lover knows how to defend themselves. It’s also an excuse for him to be physically affectionate to you under the guise of “correcting your form.”

VIETNAM

An absolute goddess at maneuvering street stalls and haggling prices, Vietnam will get you the most delicious meal for the best price at the most random stall.

Takes you out to shop for clothes, and although she’s shy in asking, Vietnam very much values your opinion on her fashion style. She wants to look the best in her beloved’s eyes.

Although she’s very much adapted to urban life, Vietnam will sometimes take you back to rural areas where old villages still lie. She’s also very enthusiastic on teaching you about the her people’s customs and traditions, and helps you expand even further if you’ve already known about them, because deep down Vietnam is very scared of becoming too westernized—of losing her identity. It isn’t just about teaching you, Vietnam is also reminding herself of who she is.

This fear doesn’t apply to just Vietnam, but also to all non-European (some European themselves, too) countries feeling the influence of the West in their daily lives, from their clothes to their education, even to what they eat every day.

Even though she seems a little bashful at times, Vietnam adores children and loves spending time with them, whether it be telling them stories or making puppets with them. These can range from sock puppets, water puppets, or other handcraft such as, one of the kids’ favourite, tò he, especially when Vietnam makes them in more intricate shapes like dragons of fairies.

She can spend her entire day hanging around with little children, and would love it if you were to join in too. She won’t be able to handle all the teasing from them, though.

MALAYSIA

Baby boy’s so excited for every date, even if it’s your 100th one he’s still a ball of energy. Super affectionate, has to be making physical contact with you at all times (lowkey to show others that you’re his territory-)

Proud of his cuisine, he does take you out to eat, but he’d rather cook for you and feed you. Absolutely soaks in every compliment you give him.

Dancing is another thing that he loves to do with you. Seeing your body move to the beat is just so damn attractive to him, and if you don’t know how to or are bad at dancing it’s totally fine, maybe even better because he now has an excuse to spend more time with you :D

Beach dates are a must, and you two aren’t just going for swims, you are going to catch your own lunch and dinner. Sometimes, Mal drags you out in the sun for hours to catch horseshoe crabs. What, it’s good exercise, and you’re getting a healthy tan too!

Mal likes dressing in weird outfits, sometimes even outright crossdressing. He looks cute and he knows it, and he uses this to pull pranks on others. A considerable amount of dates together are going out and fooling around. Once, you both managed to convince Indonesia that Mal was a cute girl. It then took exactly 3 seconds for him to realize the truth. Then you two drag him in as well and find out that Indo looks very good in a dress,

Aside from the outfits, dates with Mal are pretty random and spontaneous, ranging from climbing palm trees to stealing Singa’s clothes to giving therapy to the local goats.

INDONESIA

Shy glances and lingering touches, especially in the earlier months of your relationship. Holding hands, short hugs, little pecks on the cheeks - literally anything would work, Indonesia just wants to shower you with affection, but that’s inappropriate, what kind of person would he be if he were to advantage of you like this? All his stammering and shyness in turn invoke your shyness, and the early months will very much involve lots of blushing and bashfulness.

Knows the places for the most legendary, godlike sweets and definitely takes you there, but doesn’t do it much often because it feels very self-centered on his part. You’ll have to tell him straight to his face that dates aren’t supposed to be one-sided and all focusing on you, it’s okay for him to indulge in his own interests too.

MOTORCYCLE DATES

At first, Indonesia over-worries on preparations and safety measures. What if an accident happens and you’re sent to the hospital? What if you fall off during the ride? Well, he knows that he’s responsible enough to drive safely and you’re not some defenseless child that needs tending to in every waking moment, but he’s just so scared of losing you.

Once you succeed in reassuring him, however, these dates are the best. It is extremely exhilarating to just zoom through the streets (at a safe speed) and feel the breeze blowing away the heat from the tropical sun.

Also, cling onto Indonesia’s waist during all of this. it makes him feel confident in himself knowing that you see him as a protector.

Doing little things such as going grocery shopping with him feels like dates, too, as he’s so considerate to your every need, always a gentle and attentive lover.

Spoils you rotten by buying you your favourite foods and then showing off his cooking skills later at home - really, you’re going to have to reel this man in and tell him to stop feeding you your favourite food served with rice, even if the way he prepares that weird combination is so heavenly that you wouldn’t be able to resist anyway.

Night walks on the beach, enjoying the coolness that’s rarely seen during Indonesia’s day. This is when you can truly appreciate the soft sand underneath your feet, the wind gently blowing through your hair, and each other’s honesty, as it’s become a tradition for you and Indonesia to just talk about anything during walks, be it something as simple as how your day went, or your current struggles and worries, basking in each other’s comfort under the cool night sky. They’re very intimate moments and wouldn’t happen in early stages of your relationship yet.

PHILIPPINES

PDA is a must with Philippines, and his arms are always all over you on dates. He wants to show you off to the world and tell everyone how he’s super lucky to have such an amazing s/o like you.

You guys are going on karaoke dates, no questions asked. The Latin dance mania meets the Asian love for karaoke? Combine it with Philippines’s rambunctious personality and you are in for a whole ass show.

Self-care date nights are a must. Every week you meet up at his house and Philippines opens the door with a wide smile and is absolutely going to pamper you. Face masks, massages, manicure, you name it. Dating Philippines means having impeccable nail art, whether you like it or not.

Also you’re definitely going thrifting for t-shirts with him, usually couple shirts and he’s definitely getting you weird ass ones like that one time you return home with ten shirts with pictures of Jollibee promoting workout sessions.

Now that I think about it, every Southeast Asian country probably has a side hobby of looking for unusually specific items of clothing, like for example Malaysia definitely gets weird swimsuits to terrorize the locals, Indonesia likes collecting jeans (he has several pairs of see-through ones), Vietnam loves wacky footwear of any kind (see: these things), and Singapore would never admit it but he has an entire closet full of clothes that look like they’re straight out of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.

Pien is as much as an attention-seeker as Philippines is, so going on dates with the Filipino is like also going on dates with Pien. However, it’s bound to get competitive.

Café dates, museums, aquariums - it’s all very elegant and classy, he’s always so knowledgeable about everything, almost like you’re living in a modern fairy tale (which to be honest you are, this is Singapore we’re talking about), and your dates are literally so aesthetic that you could post it on Hetagram completely unedited and it’ll still explode in popularity. You’ll have the smoothest experience on dates, as Singa’s all about that flawless customer service.

He isn’t trying to group you in as just another visitor in his life, though. Singa’s actually pretty insecure that if he stops being perfect, you won’t find him desirable anymore and leave him. Of course, he knows that you won’t do that, you love him, but the doubts still live in his mind.

Malaysia keeps telling him that they’ll crawl out of his closet at night and eat him alive. Singapore claims that he doesn’t believe this, but the dark circles underneath his eyes says otherwise.

The stories change whenever he changes their clothes. For example last week, Clara just lost her fifth husband so she has to consult the detective Katherine to investigate the series of mysterious deaths. It turned out that Katherine herself was responsible for the murders, as she had blackmailed every single one of them then killed them off in oder to prevent the truth of Clara being the illegitimate heir to the Chinese corporation of- to sum it up, Singa can make a career in writing dramas, and he would love it if you were to join him in this strange hobby of his.

His mannequins are basically his emotional support pillars. He vents his frustrations to them and it’s free therapy for him.

The reason why his house is always so messy is because t’s extremely exhilarating for him to be hidden from the public eye and allowed to make a mess of everything.

Contrary to his only picking soft, upbeat songs on karaoke nights with others, Singa has a burning passion for heavy death metal, the more banging the better. He sings it to his mannequins every night, and if you’re willing to listen, you. Don’t worry, his vocal range is actually pretty impressive.

Also, Singa has a custom-made mannequin that has your exact physical measurements, and no, he definitely isn’t being creepy! See, it’s headless and only for him to try on new clothes that he thinks would look cute on you and to avoid your disappointment if the size isn’t right. This is how all the clothes Singa gets for you fit perfectly, he will take this secret to the grave.

I was scrolling through South Park tags and saw @paolox3b about some episode ideas so I decided to throw my hat in the ring and share some of mine that is stuck in my head.

Craig and Those Guys - I kinda have to agree with this one, I think a CATG episode is way overdue and Matt and Trey should just give it to us. I'm also kinda curious what kind of dynamic Tweek has with Clyde, Jimmy and Tolkien so this episode could be a dealbreaker.

Eurovision Special - In a bid to get away from their dads for a while, Stan and Tolkien tricks Kyle, Kenny, Eric and Wendy to reunite Fingerbang in a bid to represent San Marino in Eurovision, in the guise of entering the school talent show. Randy and Steve, realizing their kids are missing, must team up to find them, but not before they make another special.

Goth Kids 4: Into The Multiverse of Gothness - when a new student who identifies herself as a different kind of Goth shows up in school one day, the Goth Kids realize that not only are there different kinds of Goth, but also that they do not get along and are at war with each other. It's up to the Goth Kids to save the day when they realize the fighting is breaking up the Goth-Space Continuum.

Craig Tucker vs. The World - Parodying Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, when some kid shows up and tries to beat up Craig for Tweeks hand, Craig must defeat seven evil jealous kids who only want one thing: Tweek's affection (even though Tweek doesn't know them).

The Return of Gary Harrison - When Gary returns to South Park, Stan decides to make amends with him and become a proper friend, which leads to Wendy thinking Gray is stealing Stan for himself, leading to an epic showdown that Gary doesn't really want to be involved with. Meanwhile, Tweek and Craig tries to go on a date once the attention goes to Stan and Gary. But when everytime they try to have a moment, Clyde cockblocks them for pictures he can sell to the Asian Girls, forcing them to go to extreme lengths to get away from him.

Bad Goths Club - When Michael finds out that Pete called him a poser, Eric gets the idea of placing the Goth Kids (along with Stan and Karen) in his old home where they have to stay in for one month and turn it into a reality show for all of South Park to enjoy, to the discomfort of Kyle and Kenny.

Edit: I left out some ideas because I kinda forgot about it or haven't thought of them for a while now when I looked at the post, so here's the final two.

Rise of The Country Kids - A response or callback to that one Hetalia strip where America and England turned into South Park characters. When a new kid shows up introducing himself as America and started saying things like "I'm the Hero", the gang and entire town realizes that not only personifications exist, but there are more of him and are equally as weird as him. This puts a lot of concern for Kyle, who just witnessed Cartman befriending that Russian kid with the creepy aura. Meanwhile, the ASEAN gang made themselves comfortable at the Stevens residence and the Philippines personification turned Bebe's room into a vlogging studio, to Bebe's annoyance.

Band in China II: Drop the Bass - After the closure of Tweak Bros. Coffee in Unfulfilled, Tweek turns to DJing and music production to support himself and his family, hopefully to jumpstart back their business. With the help of his friends, he became an online sensation, but what happens when he liked a tweet that will get him and his music banned in China?

What do you think if Piri decided to ware his military uniform or general suit in one of world meeting what would the other think since he ware Most of the time a sailor suit.( Give me there reaction especially the country that with him when there was war)

Well that's gonna trigger the world, because they associated a military suited Piri with his 2p counterpart. Since Piri is a pacifistic guy , he refuses to have war as the answer but deep down he knows it can't be helped at times. He knows he has to go through all that suffering at one point, so he just switches with his 2p counterpart and have him fight in wars.

So the first time he walked in the meeting room, he got jumped on because everyone thought 2Piri replaced him again (it happened during Martial Law). It took some explaining that this is his new years resolution, where he promised himself that he's gonna try to take things more seriously and his first step is wearing his military uniform.

As for the nations he had past wars with, it depends on what kind of uniform he's wearing. Obviously he's wearing the modern version of his uniform so it barely gives anyone any bad memories. Plus he knows he can't wear his old uniforms, because 1. Their soo old fashioned and 2. he doesn't want resurface any bad memories.

I mean Alfred already can't watch Goyo without bleeding out, him wearing Heneral Luna's uniform would be like trying to squeeze the blood out of his lungs at that point.

And Kiku already refuses to take hikes with him in his mountains due to the trauma of being ambushed and raided by the ROTC guerillas. If he dressed like them again Japan would have a heart attack.

America is used to seeing him in that uniform because they have joint military exercises with one another, along with Japan sometimes.

But even with the modern uniform it does still trigger some nations, like China. He gets Korean war flashbacks, since during that time Piri most notably fought him the most. That time he soloed him when he tried to push the Western allies back for North Korea and manage to beat him despite his strength in numbers. Or that other time he ambushed him to take a strategic area away from him in order for the democratic allies to have it for themselves.

And speaking of cold wars, Vietnam! His fellow ASEAN member, first time he walked in with that uniform she was surprised by what he's wearing. During her war, she did saw him in that uniform, but the memory of him being a doctor for the South Vietnamese overpowers the memory of him being her dangerous enemy. Besides, she was more scared about the Koreans rather than the Filipinos.

But most of the time, the countries avoid him due to him now strikingly resembling his 2p counterpart. Needless to say he stopped wearing the uniform in the next meeting because people weren't willing to talk to him and actively avoiding him.

Germany: What happened to your military uniform?

Philippines: Everyone kept treating me like an outlaw, honestly screw you guys! I try to be a serious and formal country and this is what I get? Forget it then

Was this what it's like to be Russia? If so, then consider Piri having a new found respect for the nation. He doesn't approve of what he's doing now, but him being able to live through this treatment is respectable.

i still cant stop thinking about amephil because i literally have no idea how theyll be interacting in canon lmao so here’s just some approaches:

the awkward exes: piri and america just have no idea how to interact with each other anymore, so they default to being unerringly and diplomatically polite. they try to ignore each other outside of official functions, and get extremely flustered when forced to talk to each other in casual settings. everyone else knows that they have history together, but they avoid talking about it so much that nobody tries bringing it up

distant, annoying acquaintance: piri and america get along really well! they’re the best of chums! they’re so similar that they’re almost always on the same page! but they also don’t really bother to catch up personally, like they’ll hang out if they see each other but won’t particularly go out of their way to be with each other. the reason for this is because they annoy each other too easily when theyre stuck together for more than a few hours. they were housemates once and they swore never to do it again.

frenemies: piri and america are ridiculously familiar with each other, due to having lived together for decades when piri was still america’s colony -- a fairly unique relationship that only piri has with america. but because they have so much baggage, every time they interact with each other ends up in a lot of polite-on-the-surface-but-teeming-with-frustration-beneath bickering. they care for each other, which is fairly evident in how they keep seeking each other out just to annoy each other, but you can’t catch them ever admitting it

frenemies with Angst (TM): same as above, but now piri and america are angsty because deep down they really want to reconcile but feel like the other won’t be receptive to it. piri sees america being mean to him as america seeing their past friendship as something he regrets and would rather entirely forget about. america sees piri being mean to him as piri being too bitter about their rocky past to ever see him as an honest friend. there’s still a lot of unprocessed feelings from their history they’re still internally conflicted about, and they get reminded of it every time they see each other. but they have to keep the image of being the airheaded, happy nation, so they just continue to act as belligerent friends.

the friends that act like lovers: piri and america are intensely showy about how affectionate they are to each other. they’re in each other’s social media posts all the time, and america always has his arm draped over piri’s shoulder, and piri keeps calling america these cute pet names, and america is always buying piri gifts, and piri always defends america in conversation... everyone assumes theyre a thing? but theyre really not and laugh off any suggestion of it.

fuck buddies: piri and america are diplomatic allies, and as far as everyone else knows, thats all there is to their relationship. but also, sometimes, england has to visit america to talk about business stuff and piri is the one that walks out of america’s bedroom (and serves him tea, because he’s real hospitable like that). and sometimes indonesia has to pick up piri to go the next asean hangout/party and piri is clearly wearing america’s dress shirt. when asked, neither piri or america ever really give a serious answer and just joke around it.

idiots in pining: piri and america are frustrated! piri cant really explain why he still likes being around america so much even though he has every reason to positively hate his guts! america cant really explain why he still tries caring for piri even though he doesnt really have the obligation to do that anymore! oh, whatever can explain the way they hearts beat like crazy when they’re next to each other or the way they constantly seek out the other’s touch! oh, but unfortunately, piri thinks america still has a thing for russia while america thinks that piri and indonesia are together. what do you mean this burning pain they feel in their chest sounds like jealousy? 

divorced: piri and america are perfectly genial to each other at official functions but fight like hell everywhere else. and their fights always end up being so painfully personal too, with stuff like “why did you betray me?” or “you always said you’d be by my side!” getting thrown out every so often. you’d laugh about how melodramatic they can get but they look so heartwrenchingly pained at each argument that you just feel sad. their friends try to ensure they never meet, if they can help it. they love each other, but the trust between them is just so irrevocably broken that they’ll never truly get over it.
