I’m unwell and have the Gaga demos for ‘Applause’ rattling around in the back of my brain so um...

Thoughts on Concept Demo A (leaked idk before the dawn of time): * Well I mean it’s mostly gibberish because that’s one method of song production wherein one has the instrumental ready but hasn’t written the lyrics so they just sound out like the structure of the vocals. * Majority of people who listen to this assert the possibility she might’ve been kinda drunk (or at least tipsy imo) when she recorded this, which I kinda feel might indicate they were having a party in the recording booth because you can hear other people cheering when she goes “YAY!” * The synth interlude from 1:09 to 1:22 is pretty neat, tho not sure it really would have fit in with the final song tbh. * “Do ya, do ya wanna be free ‘cause I wanna be inside of ya!”

Thoughts on Concept Demo B(?) (leaked in 2017): * Once again it’s like half-gibberish, but like, different gibberish lol. * She’s got the chorus all the ready to go. The ‘turn the lights out’ + ‘make it real loud’ are more autotuned. More backing vocally-sounding in my opinion, but also kinda cool? Idk... * “Is this not da-da-da-da, is it black or is it gone” * “Being away from you, I need you baby, need you here”

Thoughts on what’s alleged to be an earlier version of the final release that was initially dropped on SoundCloud: * I KNEW KNEW KNEW it, I wasn’t crazy for remembering there being an echo on ‘Koons is me’ omg. * I don’t really have any other reason for including this one to be quite honest. * The person who originally posted this video had annotations indicating the major differences from the album version, which aren’t there anymore because fuckin’ YouTube. If I’m not mistaken it’s mainly that the vocals are louder against the instrumental than in the final version (I like being able to hear her more clearly spelling out A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E personally). And she doesn’t do the first couple “woohoo!” vocals towards the end of the song.
