Yup! I've been inactive because I got tons and tons of uni work to do, but I'm a week away from being free!

So yes, comics both Pizza Tower and Samurai Jack-wise are finally arriving!

I can say we've been cooking scripts and ideas and this gonna be INTENSE HEHEHEHEH

I'll try not to keep my blog dead any longer meanwhile though so...

Development Update

11/05/24

Finished UI design for the pelt submission process! Digging into it! It took a lot of consideration to come to something we like, but we're very excited. User settings are being worked on, with progress on password changing, icon changing, and email changing Decor stylistic direction change was done to make decor most similar to cats (simple soft-cell shading, fully lined.) Decor pieces testing this are being worked on. Finished Gilded item, Regal set, Necromantic Cloak, and Creeping Thicket on all starter poses. Protogear has been lined for all poses. Working on lining for Rainbow Hanfu. Working on recolors for Creeping Thicket. A little teaser of what we are up to : )

Is that progress I see? I wish I could say I'm shocked it's taken me this long to get anywhere, but sadly, I'm not.

I lost a lot of steam to work on anything for several months and I'm trying to work better at that.

To some, this may not look like a lot of progress considering I'm still in the rough stages; however, I am actually finalizing the rough sketches for each panel before I start lining them. This chapter is starting to actually feel like I'm moving along with it!

Art/illustrations update

Hi everyone!

This is an important art/illustrations update. For months I’ve been doing my best to have an illustration for each and every chapter, but the better my art got the more time I have to spend on it and instead of a fun project making these illustrations slowly became truly taxing. 

I’m on a verge of a burnout for real this time. The illustration pressure pushed me away from writing the fic as well. I really want to finish and I like my weekly posting schedule so I need to take a step back.

I’ll be only making illustrations for chapters for which I have an actual idea, not making myself reread it over and over thinking of what I should draw. 

Besides illustrations I have many different art projects and I’d like to focus on them. I want my drawing and writing to come back to being fun instead of an obligation. 

That said I’m not saying that I won’t illustrate PH completely someday, but I was thinking of making it a long term project long after I finish the fic. It would be a way for me to come back to it and fill out those chapters when I feel inspired. I just don’t want a time limit.

I hope you understand. 

I'll put it in the fic notes as well.

Overall I might be less active, because I need to pick myself back up.

Drawing Update: A 3 Year Comparison

I always find it helpful when artists post their progress, so updating from this post last year, I'm back with a 3-year comparison.

The drawing from 2021 (right) was the first thing I tried to make after putting down the pen for like... at least a good 15 years. It's terrible! My proportions are way off, I had no idea how to use digital tools, or how to color, so everything is flat and too detailed in some areas and not detailed enough in others. But it was a labor of love, a little take on a younger version of a character I had in my head. I did my best!

To commemorate 3 years of trying to improve, I did a little revisit of the same image, just for funsies.

Here's to continuing to try improving, til next year!
