ohhhh my god had a huge fucking dnd moment today. so like in this setting magic got completely fucked 250 years ago in something called the shattering, magic users all died or lost their minds, huia saw this shit first-hand bc elf lifespans and cause shes part of an order of druids which uh. isnt strictly around anymore. insert trauma and survivors guilt etc etc but particularly she had an older brother in the order who went awol, presumed dead but thats huia being hopeful yknow. so naturally shes pretty fucking cautious around the arcane.

anyway today the party met this old ass high elf who went insane and started collecting peoples bones to make a dress out of yknow normal things, and post-shattering magic exposure made her weird enough that making a business deal with her gave someone the option to become a pact of the arch-fey warlock. so shes kind of a twisted mirror of huia's worst nightmares about her brother.
