I love watching Tears of the Kingdom memories out of order /sarc /lh
It took my around 100 hours to even find out the tears were a thing and wondering wtf my mom was talking about when I kept asking for help on what to do but that aside, I had seen #1 and #2 in order, tried to find Tabatha stable for a good 2 hours and then decided to go take a break and got hit with #8, WHICH WAS LIKE GETTING HIT BY A TRAIN
#1: :0 time travel wow oh wait your my old grandparents
#2: "let's go to the castle dear and get some clean clothes"
#8: SHE'S DEAD AND GANON IS IN POWER AND YOUR FUCKING WIFE IS DEAD AND ITS YOUR FAULT RAARU
Also there's 18 memories?? Damn how the fuck is it gonna sucker punch me more than that fucking 180 in story but aside from that i. I really wish it gave you a little way to back out, like it tells you the memory of what your about to watch and if you wanna do it later, I wanted to watch them in order TT AND I STILL HAVENT FOUND TABANTHA STABLE
#once i lost a carton of milk in the fridge and genuinely stood there for like an hour i was later told trying to find it. and then#my roommate walked over and handed it to me in about 4 seconds so i am not surprised i cant find the stable#im gonna go use google now#im mostly posting since i realized i should make semi regular posts on this account for my own sanity even if its not s&m related#since im not really s&m related anymore aside from the occasional art i'll change my pfp to reflect that eventually#i want to start making zelda art but i would want to put ALOT of time learning a more realistic artstyle to be happy with that#and contrasingly im struggling to learn the really cartoony style of aga so uh. shit outta luck with all of my hyperfixations rn#i might make something genuine related to undertale in the meantime? i have some aus ive held incredibly close to my heart#talk talks#hmm okay yeah i should start using fandom tags but i dont want to clutter anything what do i do here#zelda ranch dip#hell if i'll remember that but i'll put it in my searchable tags as a hail mary#would anyone be interested in my wackass theory about how i think link is a witch#i have a giant ass rant in my discord i think as well as a few rants on the fae and the such#oh shit good tag to put in her actually right before i hit post#spoilers#totk spoilers#just in case cause i got spoilered a little bit? but i have really good luck and skill with avoiding spoilers about alot of games and#the only thing i really know is that zelda turns into the dragon..i think ive been told that was wrong but i might be being juked

I know fuck all about tf2 except for character names. Most I got is you and a few other mutuals posts, and they're 10/10. How does the game..... work exactly? Like is there plot? Is it first person shooter sort of thing? Is there a tf1?
I could google it but that's not nearly as fun
OH BOY GET READY FOR THE B I G R AM B L E
WHAT THE FUCK IS TF2?
It's a team based first person shooter published by Valve (of portal and half life fame) in 2007 with nine classes to choose from, each with strengths countered by other classes (for example, the Spy is often a counter against the Sniper and Engineer. Respectively, by picking off the Sniper with a quick, stealthy backstab or by destroying the Engineer's machines). The game has been free to play since 2009 (i think. grain of salt please), and has a healthy playerbase to this day, aside from the bots. But not every tf2 fan actually plays the game. I play sometimes, but mostly just rotate the characters in my brain like a microwave burrito.
It is ALSO, however, a multimedia franchise. Aside from the game, which shows off worldbuilding and characterization through the environment and character dialogue (as well as the update announcement flyers on the official blog), there are also animated shorts and comics created by Valve that further flesh out the world and characters of TF2. Frankly, I think you should give the Meet The Team shorts a go if nothing else. They're iconic. It's hard to pick favorites, but I'm partial to Meet the Medic (obviously), Meet the Engineer (which I can quote verbatim), and Meet the Sniper.
Broadly, the world and aesthetics of TF2 are based on 60's/70's cold war thrillers and spy movies. Think James Bond and the Manchurian Candidate. These impeccable vibes are then wrapped neatly in a cartoony artstyle that wasn't common at the time (and arguably still isn't. I'm pretending that fortnight doesnt exist, as is custom). On a related note, the soundtrack FUCKS SEVERELY. Like. They just DO. They have influence from Jazz, Funk, and miltary marching songs, with more specific influences for individual characters (ex: country western for engineer, polka for medic, and bagpipes for demoman)
An important thing to note is that every class is a play on some stereotype from the movies that inspired the vibes:
Heavy Weapons Guy is a husky ruskie and a man of few words, but he has hidden depths. He's a family man, most importantly, and has been supporting and protecting his mother and younger sisters since his father was killed when he was a teenager. He has a close bond with the Medic and speaks highly of the Engineer ("Engineer is credit to team!"). In a debatably canon piece of dialogue from TellTale's Poker Night At The Inventory, he is revealed to have a PhD in Russian Literature.
Engineer is a texan with 11 PhDs in hard science. He exudes southern hospitality and seems like the most sane man on the team. He also takes great joy in the death and destruction his weapons cause, and ALSO helps the Medic in performing deeply unethical experiments that go against the laws of nature for curiosity sake. He's the third in a line of engineers, btw, and his grandfather basically conquered death. Which isn't super relevant, but I feel is a good lead in to some of the wackier elements of this world I would like to mention.
And every character is like this to some degree. Some more so than others- Soldier is basically just "how american can a man be before it starts impacting his mental health" and Pyro is unknown in terms of nationality, gender, and background
TF2 has a plot by the way! Yes, there is a reason for these many dudes in funny hats to be fighting. They are fighting over gravel. Yeah. So, these two brothers are fighting over land willed to them by their father (who died in the 1890's) which is largely useless aside from having a lot of gravel. Their names are Redmond and Blutarch Mann, and they're the ceos of their own corporations. Reliable Excavation & Demolitions (RED) and Builder's League United (BLU) respectively. They each hired mercenaries to fight a proxy war for them with the goal of owning it all. All the while, a third party, The Administrator, has been playing both sides of the Gravel War to keep it going as long as possible. Why? It's a mystery...
RAPID FIRE TF2 WORLDBUILDING BULLSHITTERY BE UPON YE:
(most of this is just stupid shit that was made up for Pure Random Funny HaHa and has very little bearing on the plot, but tells you a LOT about the tone of the franchise)
Rocket Jumping (that is, shooting a rocket propelled grenade at your feet and crouch-jumping at the same time to launch yourself into the air) was a technique pioneered by Shakespearicles, the STRONGEST POET TO EVER LIVE. He also invented the concept of a Second Floor in a building
Btw, stairs were not invented when the second floor was invented. I want you to take a wild guess how people got to the second floor before stairs were invented. (hint: it involves explosives)
Stairs were invented by Abraham Lincoln. He died due to rocket jumping up said stairs which caused him to accelerate rapidly into a wall. He was also the first Pyro in the 1890s.
New Zealand sank below the ocean sometime in the 40's. By which I mean it was intentionally sank because a Jor-el knockoff believed that the world was ending and that going underwater was the only way to save the nation.
CisMpreg exists. This fact is Medic's fault.
OK But What About Team Fortress 1?
So, its. Not complicated but it's not exactly simple. Quick answer, the original TF game has nothing to do with TF2. Team Fortress was originally a mod for the game Quake and has the same basic gameplay premise as it's successors (team based FPS with 9 classes) and quite a few maps have actually been remade for TF2. It was released in 1996, so, as TF2 was taking A Very Long Time to complete, Valve released a sort of... updated version that was meant to hold fans over. It uses the half life 2 engine, I believe, and was released in 1999. It is called Team Fortress Classic and it's only a LITTLE confusing to research I swear.
TFC takes place in the same universe as TF2, but in the 1930's instead of the 60's. Ignore the scifi/modern looking tech. Don't worry about it. This has no bearing on TFC, really, because it was only confirmed in one of the comics released in 2014. The TFC team matters to the comic plot, but is otherwise kinda just. there. Like, they only exist in the Mann Co No More story line and otherwise just exist.
Fun fact: TFC (the game) was updated to change the ingame class models to more accurately represent the appearance given to them in the comics.
For example, look at the glow up given to the TFC Medic! (original on the left, updated on the right)
Tumblr media
In Conclusion:
I will be surprised anyone actually reads all of this, but that is my rambling summary of what in the fuck TF2 is. To be fair, the game is richly detailed but also kinda sparse at the same time. Its all vibes and interpretation my dude. Honestly I think what has made TF2 so popular and long lasting (lore wise) is related to what early FNAF games had going on

Amanda the Adventurer Mouse OC
Based on @madameinfinitehearts 's theory about a new third character being added in by Hameln in the third game (and that character potentially being a mouse based on the Hameln mascot) I got inspired to draw my own take on that idea.
Tumblr media
Later when it's just Amanda and Wooly:
Wooly: I don't think we should trust her.
Amanda (sarcastically): Oh really? Whatever gave you THAT impression
Wooly: I mean, they're adding a new character after all this time? Plus, look at her ears… don't they seem… familiar?
Amanda: Yeah their the same ears as the Hameln logo you dummy.
Wooly: whispering Excatly.
Amanda: So? I thought you LIKED Hameln
Wooly: Well…
Piper: Whatcha talking about?
Summary of character:
Yes, her name is Piper. Yes based on the Piped Piper of Hameln. Too on the nose or is it perfect? (It was all I could think of tbh). She's around the age of 15-19 years old. She's very girly and takes on a babysitter/big sister role toward Amanda and Wooly, keeping them on script and such.
Original description in the reblog I made:
Honestly, I think a mouse might be more fitting, especially one in the same cartoony artstyle as Amanda and Wooly. If Hameln did add in a new character, they'd have to be as unsuspicious as possible. When designing her, I decided to give her ears that mirrored the Hameln logo, which would be a hint to where her loyalty lies. The ears kind of looked like a bow to me since I decided to give her this extremely feminine personality that would parallel Amanda's tomboyishness. I was going for teenage babysitter vibe for the personality, like she's supposed to keep a super-close eye on them and prevent them from talking about Hameln or their situation any further, get them back on script, and make them forget all over again.
Hameln probably has other children under contract, and this could be one of them. An older teen actor (I'm thinking 15-18) who has been fully brainwashed by the cult and has complete loyalty to them. Their oldest and most loyal actor
Now she'd probably not end up saying directly that she had always wanted to be a part of their hit show (mostly cuz she wants the spotlight) because that would be a dead giveaway. Or she could be a bit ditzy at times, giving Amanda and Wooly small moments to meet up or sharing valuable information by accident.
She's supposed to be a role-model/big sister figure to Amanda. Thats the main reason I gave her hair because I could imagine them doing hair and having girl talks (where she'd coax information out of Amanda but it won't work because Amanda has big trust issues). Also, skirts aren't typically adventure clothes, which would make her seem more off.

Animated Zelda Adaptions
With recent discussion of an animated Zelda film to follow the Mario movie, I got to thinking about ways to adapt different Zelda games into animation. While a Zelda movie wouldn’t necessarily need to be an adaption of a specific game, with the variety of styles the series has gone through over the years, they’d need to pick one to go with — so here’s my thoughts.
Zelda 1/Adventure of Link/A Link to the Past/Link’s Awakening
I’m putting these four together because I think they could all be adapted into animation the same way — based of the original official art, in the style of an 80s cartoon (just with a bit more of a budget). Each game could be a season of a TV show, expanding on the somewhat limited plot by making it episodic and using the extra time to expand on the characters and world within that format.
Tumblr media
Ocarina of Time/Majora’s Mask
For these two, I think stopmotion in the style of Laika (known for Coraline & Kubo and the Two Strings) would work the best (or using 3D stylised to resemble stopmotion, like the Lego Movie). The OoT style doesn’t seem like one that would translate to 2D very well, and I think it would be fun to borrow some ideas from the Link’s Awakening remake for the Switch and have the character designs stylised so they look almost like action figures. While Ocarina of Time would have to be a movie, Majora’s Mask just wouldn’t work in that format, since the sidequests are so vital to the overall story, meaning a one season series would probably be the best way to adapt it.
Tumblr media
Oracle of Ages/Seasons
I’ve never played these two myself, but I think going more ‘anime’ with them would work well, although it would be fun to work in the pixel art of the original games somehow. Like the other Downfall Timeline games, these ones would would work best as a TV series — maybe three seasons, one for Ages, one for Seasons, and one for the linked games ending but adding in extra story where Link travels between Holodrum and Labrynna. For an animation studio, someone suggested Toei Animation, who apparently did the animation for the LA remake.
Tumblr media
Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass/Spirit Tracks
Wind Waker, the one that got me thinking about animated Zelda in the first place! I think this is the only Zelda game that would work with Illumination due to its more cartoony style, although other studios like DreamWorks would also work. Although if it was done in 2D, based on the official art, Cartoon Saloon would definitely pull it off. Wind Waker would work pretty well as a movie with pretty minimal changes needed to the plot, and Phantom Hourglass/Spirit Tracks could make up a Zelda trilogy.
Tumblr media
Minish Cap/Four Swords Adventures
Leaving out the original Four Swords due to its complete lack of story — I think these two would work with a similar style to the Wind Waker trilogy, although I’d definitely prefer them to be 2D over 3D. Minish Cap would definitely work as a movie, but I’m not sure about FSA, it probably depends on how much is pulled from the manga.
Tumblr media
Twilight Princess
Much like Ocarina of Time, I don’t think the Twilight Princess artstyle as it is would work in 2D. Based on their work like Wolfwalkers and Screecher’s Reach, I think Cartoon Saloon could definitely replicate the vibes of the original game in a more cartoony style. Alternatively, they could go full anime with this one — although it would definitely work better as something more inspired by 90s anime and its more realistic proportions.
Tumblr media
Skyward Sword
Initially I was leaning towards Ghibli and while it would definitely work, just doesn’t feel right to me. Maybe Toei again? I’m not too familiar with Japanese animation studios, but Skyward Sword is definitely a good fit for the typical ‘anime’ look. Also I don’t think 3D would work here.
Tumblr media
A Link Between Worlds
While technically a sequel/remake to A Link to the Past, the differences in art style make me feel that this one should have its own look — preferably 3D so the contrast with Link’s painting form is strengthened.
Tumblr media
Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom
These ones have got to be Ghibli, there’s no question about it there. The big question is do you make them each a series, or a movie with a number of timeskips? Either one has benefits and downsides.

Kind of a review of "Laika: Aged Through Blood"
Tumblr media
Over the past weekend I managed to put 24 hours into this little game and I have so many feelings about it that I decided to write up a review of it. So let's get into it:
Laika: Aged Through Blood is a 2D metroidvania by Brainwash Gang that released on the 19th October of this year. It's also a shooter with bullet time. And also one of those bike-platformers like the Trials games or Happy Weels. And a post-apocalyptic spagetti-western.
Gameplay: Like I've mentioned before, Laika plays a lot like one of those bike-platformers, meaning that you'll spend the vast majority of the game driving trough the desertificated ruins of civilisation, making sick flips and trying desperatly not to break all of your bones on the pavement. The major way in which Laika differs from those games is that it also gives you a gun and asks you to shoot facists with it. Because aiming while having enemies shot at you while also trying not to crash isn't that easy, the game throws you a bone (because your playing as a canaid, get it?) and activates bullet time as soon as you press down the trigger, firing the gun only when you release. This doesn't only alleviate the chaos, but also makes you feel cool as fuck! Your guns (of which threre are six in total) all have infinite ammo, but require you make a backflip to reload. You are also able to parry enemy bullets by pressing the turn button at the correct moment. Your parry only replenishes after doing a front flip. This is fucking brilliant, because it forces you to do tricks and tricks feel satisfying to pull of.
The metroidvania aspect of the game honestly falls a bit into the background. There are only 3 really new abilities that you unlock over the game, one of which doesn't get utilised enough. The gamplay at the end of the game doesn't feel that different from the beginning. Luckily enough, the gameplay that is there feels amazing and the game isn't long enough for this lack of evolution to become a problem. Still, it would probably be more honest to call this an open world game than a metroidvania, especially more so because while exploration is definitly a thing that happens, it happens more passivly while you are doing quests for the people in your village or other wastelanders. A couple of other (really minor) misgivings that I have are that I only really found myself using 2 of the 6 guns, that there should have been a couple more teleporters around and that the dash upgrade should have been a nitro boost.
Presentation: Laika has a really cute cartoony art stile that contrasts brilliantly with it's bleak world and gruesome violence.
Tumblr media
Even the most minor encounter will lead to mangled corpses and our heroine being soaked in blood (partially because this wastelands currency are the guts of your enemy)
Tumblr media
That doesn't mean there isn't time for more peacefull or communal moments though
Tumblr media
And honestly, the game needs an artstyle like this. Anything less and it's world would feel to bleak. A game this bleak and melancholic needs a bit of cartoony levity, else it would be to depressing.
Speaking of melancholy, the soundtrack by Beícoli is hauntingly beautifull. Tracks like "The Whispers" or "Mother" will be spooking around in my head for a while. The soundtrack is also completely diagetic! Because not only is Beícoli a character in the game, but the songs you listen to are cassetes that you listen to with a walkman (that you can eject and replace whenever you want through your menu).
The rest of the sounddesign is also great. Menus have all the right clicky noises, your bike roars apropiatly and while I'm not completely satisfyed with the guns (could use more cracking) they still sound better than in some FPS games I've played.
Story and World: I'm honestly a little bit afraid to say too much about both, because I'm afraid to spoil to much of an amazing experience. I'll still try to give at least a (very tiny) ocerview. I'll also get into the content warnings for this game. Because besides the extreme, although cartoony, violence, the game also features depictions of extreme violence against kids and depictions and mentions of suicide, as well as mentions of sexual assault. Now the game itself warns you of these and it didn't feel like it relished in any of them. I still think that they are worth mentioning though.
As I've alluded to before, Laikas world is not a happy place. The world you inhabit isn't dying, it died a long time ago. And there are still people that want to deprive others of what little they have. Specificaly these racist as fuck birds with legally distinct guns and uniforms that definitly aren't a stand in for real world imperial powers, what are you talking about?
Tumblr media
(The birds in question)
The game beginns with a child having been brutally murdered by them and his father having gone out to take revenge. Our heroine, the anthro coyote Laika (whoever would've guessed that she's called that!?), follows him. soon enough she's sent out by her village to wage a one person war against the enemy. Luckily, Laika is cursed (ha), which means that she can not only see the ghosts of the recently decesed, but she's functionally immortal (because resporning at checkpoints is also diagetic, hell yeag!) Laika is also a single mom looking after her daughter Puppy (there is an actual story reason she's called that, the writers weren't just lazy). Laika doesn't want this fucked world to rob her Puppy of her childhood (for more reasons one). Her own mother, Maya (who she has a very strained relationship with at best), disagrees. Maya believes that Puppy needs to grow up to have a chance surviving. Both of these plotlines, Laika fighting the Birds and Laikas relationship with her family, are surprisingly nuanced, overlap at times and, most importantly, hurt me. Laika: Aged Through Blood is one of these stories that, even right after beginning them, you just know can at best end melancolic. That doesn't mean there is only tragedie to be had here, just be aware that you shouldn't play this game if your goal is only to feel great.
Final thoughts: I could talk about this game for hours (but that would involve heavy spoilers and isn't fitting for a review). I don't think I there was a moment in the 24 hours I spend with it that I didn't enjoy (mind that someone that was better at the game wouldn't need that long, I just fucking sucked at it, lol). It's a game that made me cry multiple times. It's a game that definitly deserves more attention than it is currently getting. It's a game that you can try out right now because there is a demo available! It's probably my game of the year.

Saw you were thinking of doing more point and click adventure games and I have a few suggestions!
Primordia :  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YvWQi_5fsw
Honestly I think it would be right up your alley.
On the more horror side
Excavation of Hob’s barrow: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-1C_9RQJb8
Kathy Rain : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5aW1YcrEc0M
A little more on the fantasy fanciful side
Beyond The Edge of Owlsgard: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXeHb_dN9qo
Wytchwood : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufvmbqHVbLY
Though that one is a little closer to a crafting game.
Enjoy :D
--------
THANK YOU!
Sorry it took me awhile to read this submission. I’ve been adding a lot of Adventure Games to my “to play” list lately. Mainly cause of PushingupRoses and their new Podcast “Save Your Game” so I recommend giving that a listen if you’re up for any game recommendations, Modern or Old.
So I’ll go down this line and look at the trailers to see if I’m interested.
Primordia:
Tumblr media
OH GOD! Primordia’s art style reminds me of like Dark Seed. Which is appropriate cus I think Geiger did the artwork on that game. (darkseed not this) but it also reminds me of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind with it’s art direction. I might just check it out for the Bug, Goth Steampunk style alone.
Excavation of Hob’s barrow:
Tumblr media
I’ve heard of this game! It was actually brought up and Discussed in the “Save your Game” podcast and I looked up the art and thought about giving this one the old college try. I love me a good mystery and gothic horror intrigue. Definitely one to keep in mind.
Kathy Rain:
Tumblr media
I actually did play this one! Well, I played it once, and it was the original, not the Directors Cut. I don’t know what changes the Directors Cut made, and since I only played it once, I don’t really remember a lot of the puzzles or how it concluded. But I loved the atmosphere and I just love that the 90s was so long ago, that modern Adventure Games can like use it for a retro setting now. I want to see a lot more games take place in the 90s. Like the 80s had their turn, and I love scifi and the future, but we just need more games set in that weird era of leaking out of the 80s and dissolving to grunge. I think a small town community in the 90s is a good setting for a game in general. I should give Kathy Rain another go, it’s still in my steam library untouched.
Beyond the Edge of Owlsguard:
Tumblr media
OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!  My little inner furry absolutely LOVES this. Like the juxtaposition of a somewhat realistic Pixel art background, blended in with the super cartoony look of Anthro animals just has me instantly hooked on the artstyle alone. Like it looks like one of the more sillier games in tone of Monkey Island or Sam and Max hit the Road and that is fine by me! The graphic interface is very old school and it seems to be very self aware of the adventure game genre. I don’t doubt things will get dark and serious by how they introduced the main threat but... Like I will probably just pick this up for the art style alone!
Wytchwood:
Tumblr media
Ah this looks really interesting. It really reminds me of Cult of the lamb weirdly. With crafting and dungeon elements. I might give it a go, but it doesn’t capture my interest immediately like some others.
Also, I’ll drop a recommendation I’ve heard of:
Perfect Tides
Tumblr media
The year is 2000. You’re a teenager. You only have online friends and you’re trying to navigate puberty and the world of sex. Some people might not like that kind of thing, especially if they cringe hard at second hand embarrassment, but from what I’ve heard, this whole thing is like a mix of “Night in the Woods” and “Watamote” more the later then the former. I heard that this game isn’t afraid to make it’s main character utterly unlikeable and it’s a real coming of age story. And like, what it’s like to be alone as a teenager only having online friends to seek companionship with. I honestly can’t wait to try out this one. It looks like an existential time and a half.

All right, I said I was going to do the DLC, but I realized I should probably like, learn to play the game first.
Goro would be very disappointed in me if I didn't do well.
So, we're starting off with the proper story mode. Let's see how they've justified both this madness, and the inevitable lack of Satanael. XD
I will say, it's neat that Goro and Sumi get their own title screen, with cool music.
Tumblr media
Also, shoutout to Atlus for actually having enough space for the canon name this time! They’re learning from past mistakes~ “Akira Kurusu” fits no problem, but “Amamiya” fits with like, 2 spaces to spare.
Anyway, we start off with two mysterious figures in a government office, listening to a report about a politician who has disappeared and talking about how “he” would have to defy them in order to stop them, and “he” won’t do that. Good thing that “he” is probably going to meet my gaggle of children, who defy people as a job. XDDDD
Speaking of my gaggle of children, they’re hanging out and watching the same news report. Apparently this missing dude is a solid candidate for Prime Minister, and an election is coming up. Is this an emergency election because of what happened to Shido? Futaba mentions that it’s cold, and no one has graduated yet, so I’d put this somewhere at the end of February. I guess we won’t know for sure, because goodness, we couldn’t possibly discuss Shido or any prior events with any specifics. No, instead, we just get Futaba being mildly self-aware, after Makoto says that she hopes nothing weird is going on.
Tumblr media
Yes, Futaba, we do, because that’s where they’re hiding Goro.
The TV goes weird and they get yoinked into the Kingdom, which is some kind of distortion in meta-space. Literally as soon as they go exploring, they immediately run into soldiers and the “ruler” of the Kingdom, and everything goes to hell.
This is Lady Marie (which they pronounce "Mar-ee-ay"), and she's very Ojou-sama. And she’s kind of terrible. But I like the style. And the spike-tread tank.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway, this lady has the strongest brainwash spells I've ever seen?? Like, Yaldabaoth hit people with that brainwashing Lust attack and I don't even think it ever did anything while I was fighting him?? But she gets hold of every single Phantom Thief except Joker and Mona, and it's bad.
And then, because she can’t get those two, she just… attempts to torture them into submission. To be honest, like, I know they’re in the metaverse and can take more damage, but this is pretty close to the interrogation in terms of brutality. I think the cartoony artstyle (which I do love), is the only reason it doesn’t seem as bad. Because she catches them by their necks and drags them behind her tank. And that’s savage.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah. Violence!
Fortunately Erina comes to save them, and I like Erina so far. She’s pretty cool, and she lives in cogntive Leblanc, much to Akira and Morgana’s surprise.
Erina makes a deal that she'll help them save the brainwashed Thieves if Akira and Morgana join the rebels and help her get rid of Marie. Which, yeah, I want to beat this bitch senseless now, so... Let's do it. Leblanc is the rebels' hideout, so all the menus are there. We have skill trees for each person now that let you upgrade your personas and passive skills (and Erina's... magic? She can do light magic, but it's not kouha). Lavenza is there, and appears to be having a good time in the new Velvet Armory, though she does mention that she made some kind of "mistake" that caused her to get dragged in with you. So that's a little concerning.
I'm glad Morgana gets to come with you, because that's just proof that the third semester actually happened.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes, sweetheart, you're doing great. <3
She also offers to make you weapons with the forge, with one caveat:
Tumblr media
I love her so much. XDDDD
So, we get some intel from the other rebels that there are new prisoners being held at the prison on the edge of the city. So we head over to rescue our friends! We do not find our friends. Instead, we find up-and-coming young Diet member Toshiro Kasukabe, who has been missing from the real world and was clearly tossed in here by… someone. He’s taking this rather well, though. Hasn’t screamed at us like a certain other adult. :3
Tumblr media
...sir, I’m the only one here who’s NOT a magician.
We end up having to fight brainwashed Panther and Oracle to escape, which was a hell of a fight. I learned that Joker getting womped doesn’t end the battle, which is good, but also, people who get KO’d get removed from the field, and there doesn’t seem to be revival skills in the skill tree, so I’m assuming once they’re out, they’re out.
Marie tried to bait me into attacking my own damn sister, which is not helping my desire to kick her face in. Did I mention she’s doing all of this to obtain the “perfect wedding”? Like, ma’am, calm the fuck down. Fortunately, Erina learns a new skill and we’re going to take this bitch out and undo her brainwashing with extreme capture-the-flag.
Or… replace-the-flag. Whatever.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We make it back to Leblanc with the unbrainwashed Panther and Oracle in tow, and Toshiro is taking things really well! And by taking things really well, I mean complaining about us breaking the laws of physics, admitting that he doesn’t remember much of anything other than his name and being a Diet member, and being disapproving of the Phantom Thieves directly to their faces. Which goes over great!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He still wants us to help him get out, tho. But doesn't want to actually fight, so like... eh. Right now he's a bit of a wet blanket. But I do have my suspicions already, because he kind of almost recognized Erina. So depending on how old she is (since I can't really tell), I'm guessing either daughter or wife. Especially because, completely independently of each other:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That’s where I stopped, so, some final few random thoughts:
You can re-bind some of the control buttons, but you cannot invert the camera controls, so I am constantly spinning the camera the wrong way. Thanks, Atlus.
I find it interesting that the first boss is once again some kind of Lust/Love-obsessed person.
There’s a memo function that keeps track of people, concepts, and locations, and apparently it’s okay to mention Yaldabaoth in the notes, but we cannot acknowledge anything out loud in the actual story. X’D I bet we’re never going to allude to Maruki at all even though this is after Royal.
Tumblr media
It’s a little annoying that we’re once again knocked down to initial personas. Like, for Scramble, you could have left the ultimates alone and just made the flimsy excuse that it’s been six months and they forgot all their spells. But they didn’t lose all of their character development, and this time around, it’s just silly. This kid killed a god two months ago. He punched another god three weeks ago. He should not have just Arsene who knows only eiha.
(Eiha inflicts despair now, which would be cool if I knew what despair did in this battle system. At least it makes sense for that to be a side effect of the curse element.)
The game tries to justify it with there being some sort of “force of negation” on both the Velvet Room and the Kingdom as a whole, making it so they aren’t at full strength, but that feels even flimsier an excuse than mine for Scramble. X’D Time to break into Atlus HQ and follow the sage advice of Lavenza’s sister:
Tumblr media
…...I just finished Mario Odyssey why are there MORE hats???
Tumblr media
Every sprite of Morgana is adorable.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And finally, I can’t stop laughing at VROOM. :D
Tumblr media
I like it so far! I’m excited to see where things are going. ^_^

Scrunkore Media "Thread" 2023: Part 2
Tumblr media
welcome back to the scrunko core
14) Ib (Switch, 2023)
One of the real classics of RPG Maker horror games, upgraded for the modern age in just a few little ways that manage to keep the experience feeling as it should. Ib has a perfectly bizarre and creepy atmosphere, making really good use out of its excellent concept of being trapped in a living art gallery, with decent enough puzzles to keep you engaged throughout. I'm a big fan of its vibes and its exploration of loneliness and art in general, and it has a really strong trio of characters and various different endings that I found myself liking a lot. Now's as good a time as any to check this game out. [4.5★]
15) Everything Everywhere All At Once (Movie, 2022)
Kind of a critical darling as well as an audience favourite around when it came out, and yeah, I agree with everyone else - this movie is fantastic. Really good and creative direction in an absolutely wild ride through parallel universes, family and generational trauma that I'm told can hit really hard for the Chinese-American demographic and others like it but can be enjoyed by just about anyone. It uses its ideas pretty much perfectly, and it has a whole multiverse of them to play with; I was fully engaged throughout the whole experience. It deserved those awards. [5★]
16) Fire Punch (Manga, 2016-2018)
Tatsuki Fujimoto's earlier manga series, wrapping up just before his biggest claim to fame began, really can feel like Chainsaw Man's fucked up older brother - and it kind of is, really. It does touch on some of the same things, but the world is even harsher and the suffering even greater, and the overall mood can seem a lot more nihilistic, but there is hope in there still. It's also a harder read than Chainsaw Man, but it stands alone as a rough tale of struggling through an apocalyptic world, and it gets bonus points from me for its heartbreaking trans character I don't want to spoil. I'm not sure how much I'd recommend it, with the particular kinds of misery involved feeling gratuitous at times, but I am glad I read it. [4★]
17) Super Lesbian Animal RPG (PC, 2022)
The title kind of says it all here, this is a superb RPG about anthro animal girls in lesbian relationships, and it does an excellent job at delivering exactly that with a lot more besides. The whole cast is likeable, even the asshole characters, and the story is a mix of really good fun and powerful emotional beats, naturally being queer as hell to boot. I really appreciate the gameplay too, it's by default a fairly easy game until pretty late, but it's quite well-balanced and goes out of its way to ensure you'll never even think about grinding (levels cap at 30, even), plus a lot of the fights are just really fun. Excellent visuals and incredible soundtrack too, just a perfectly well-rounded super lesbian animal RPG that I have no real complaints with at all. [5★]
18) Tembo the Badass Elephant (PC, 2015)
A little controversial back when it released for daring to be a Game Freak game not on either of the Nintendo consoles in circulation at the time, this game is... well, it's fine. Just a decent enough 2D action platformer that feels like if you modded Wario into a Sonic game with how you can speed through levels smashing up everything in your way, but the level design and even the odd boss fight reminds me of some of the worst parts of Sonic games at times, so I'm not super fond of it. It does have plenty of charm though, with a fun cartoony artstyle and some 3D setpieces that do make one wonder why it wasn't on 3DS. Controlling a badass action hero elephant saving as many people as possible is a neat idea, too. [3★]
19) Picross 3D (DS, 2009)
There have been many different takes on Picross over the years, under many different names as well, but almost nobody has done it quite like HAL did with Picross 3D. It feels like a whole different breed of puzzle, and it is indeed nothing like regular 2D Picross - the transformation into cube-based puzzles makes things far more advanced, often more difficult, and a lot more rewarding. There's not much more to this game other than the massive amount of puzzles to solve and the option to create your own, but it doesn't really need anything else. Some puzzles are extremely hard, but that's alright, and the game is the perfect fit for the DS hardware. [4★]
20) Picross 3D Round 2 (3DS, 2015)
I technically played this a bit later, but I think it makes sense to put this next to the first game. HAL managed to do it again, innovating further on the 3D Picross concept with different shapes that you can turn blocks into - a simple change, but one that goes surprisingly far towards making the game more enjoyable. It's a lot comfier with its presentation too, and there's even some surprisingly great music in there. Not much more to it than that, but it's still filled to the brim with a huge amount of puzzles, including bonus special Amiibo unlocks (there is a homebrew program to bypass this), and that's all I can ask of it once again. I'd hope for a third round, but I don't know that I'd like it as much without stylus controls... [4.5★]
21) The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog (PC, 2023)
Sonic coming out of nowhere on April Fool's with a shockingly high-effort "joke" project was unexpected, but that blue hedgehog does have a way of blindsiding you. The game is a small but lovingly made point-and-click revolving around a murder mystery party with a few fun twists happening towards the end, and it's pretty funny for the most part, so that's the "joke" part down. On top of that, it has a really solid grasp of the characters and how to write them, seemingly on par with the IDW comics, which is more than we've seen from most of the games until fairly recently. It's something of a breath of fresh air, with plenty of fanservice, and my only real complaint is the "THINK!" segments being kind of... not very good. But as a whole, this game is really nice, and I hope they do more creative projects like this in the future. They even got the "self-insert" protagonist right, because they're such a weird and silly one. They should murder Sonic more often! [4★]
22-23) Escaped Chasm/Dweller's Empty Path (PC, 2019/2020)
I'd like to group these together, because they're kind of part of the same interesting project from Temmie Chang (yes, the Undertale Temmie). Both very short RPG Maker games with zero combat and a focus on exploring all the dialogue and plot you can get out of them. Both games have their dark elements, but Escaped Chasm definitely has the most - it's got some upsetting bits, and the ending is rather bittersweet, but I did enjoy the short tale of the lonely girl. It kind of serves as a prequel to Dweller's Empty Path, though you won't know it until you see a certain part. Speaking of which, that game is pretty nice, mostly just being a walking simulator that you can end at any time by going to bed, but there is quite a bit of dialogue for you to see that fleshes out the world and characters, with hints at what might be to come in the future. Both games adopt a Game Boy style pixel art look with minimal colour palettes and I kind of like that about them, and the developer managed to rope in Toby Fox and Camellia for musical contributions, which is awesome. Overall, the games feel like they're setting up something rather interesting, also being rather interesting in themselves, and I hope Temmie is able to do more with this in the future. [3.5★]
24) OFF (PC, 2008)
Another certified RPG Maker classic that has somehow never been re-released in any form, unless you count the official English translation from 2011, and it's certainly an odd one. The vibes are deeply unsettling throughout, the morality of the protagonist is dubious at best, and it has all kinds of strange setpieces showcasing the utterly bizarre lore of its equally bizarre world. It's kind of hard to tell what it's even really about, but it contains themes relating to religion, illness, capitalism and more besides. There are even multiple endings, including a random joke one serving as a "reward" for beating a strange and lengthy secret boss, and honestly I think the game is more of a weird French art piece than anything else. The puzzles and battle system do kind of suck in several areas, so it's all about the feeling of the game in the end, and it certainly made me feel... something. I don't think anyone completely understands this game, but I do like what it tries to do, and I respect it. [3.5★]

Here's a list of things I've been obsessed with at one point or another/still am obsessed with
inspired by a post made by my bitc*-as*s-sister @deargodhelpmeaaaaaaaaa
this is like in order of when I was obsessed, going from elementary school to today (late high school)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's so many lmao- the ones showed above are like the most impactful interests I've had- I've liked other things, they just didn't rewrite my goofy brain like all these did
ok explanation time
Pokemon- absolutely loved these games as a kid. I gaslit my older sister into thinking pokemon were real when we were really young. Almost my entire elementary school life was defined by this series and I adore all my pokemon plushies.
FNAF- ok so my sister liked it, so then I liked it. Our neighborhood friend and us had a whole club centered around the characters and we kinned assigned ourselves with all the animatronics. I was Mangle/Foxy btw.
Zelda- Probably one of the most influential games of my entire life. I played through so many of them in the later part of my elementary school years and cherished my toon Link plushie. I literally considered myself ThE gIrL lInK and pretended I was him. Breath of the Wild came out when I was deeply obsessed with the games and also when I was having an extremely awful time in my life. Botw may have unironically saved me. This series is a cornerstone to my identity.
Undertale- My sister liked it, so then I did too. Me, her, and her best friend, kin assigned ourselves characters without knowing what kinning was. I was temmie and muffet btw. I loved this game- then hated it because thats what was considered cool. But nowadays I just love it because its truly an amazing game and I dont care about its fandom reputation anymore.
(ima mention mincraft- even tho its not listed- minecraft was another cornerstone of my happiness and identity)
Hatsune Miku (and just vocaloid in general)- another "my sister liked it, so then I did" i liked the characters and the music. Me and my sister went to an event for the Miku expo one time, and it was so much fun. (it was an event where everybody drew miku and itd be scanned for the "Blue Star" music video, i remember it vividly) was an amazing time. I still like some vocaloid songs and love miku. Some of my school friends say I'm the real hatsune miku because I own a miku cosplay lol.
Splatoon- Everybody in middle school knew me as the girl with the squid bag and zelda jacket. I adored splatoon with the release of splatoon 2. I played it with my friends, I played it on my own, I made big deals out of splatfest (to the point where my parents were like "oh its splatfest? that's ur favorite!!) this game also really pushed me into becoming an artist. I would spend hours trying to recreate the artstyle and for like 2 years, all i ever drew was splatoon art. Another cornerstone series like Zelda.
Persona- oh no another cornerstone of my identity series... I look back at these games very critically and nowadays am not a huge fan of the writing choices. But in middle school, when I first played these games- omg they made me a better person because of how much I wanted to be like the protagonists. I wanted to be a reliable friend like them, so I worked really hard to try and become a better person. Despite the problems in the writing, these games really did help me- also they were my introduction to shin megami tensei) I should also note, THE ART! Playing persona encouraged me to shift my cartoony splatoon style into a more semi-realistic anime style like persona. My art improved monumentally from how much I studied Soejima's illustrations. It really inspired me.
Evangelion- I actually read the manga first. I reread it a bunch because covid started up and I had it checked out from the library. We couldnt return them with covid restrictions so I just reread them a bunch. Then I eventually watched the show and just loved it. I got my sister into it a year after I did, and we made a tradition of watching End of Evangelion once a month. Also a major influence on how I view writing and my artstyle.
Shin Megami Tensei- OK ANOTHER CORNERSTONE BUT these games made me realize the depth video games can have. Even though some of the games are really on the noise with their themes- games like Nocturne and Strange Journey blew me away with their creativity. I have so much to say about this series but I will keep it concise and say that this may be my all time favorite series (though its a close contender with Metal Gear)
JoJo- First off, I adore the art so much. But my friend encouraged me and my sister to watch it, we really enjoyed binging the series- and then I read the rest of the manga (SBR MY BELOVED). But i think why i especially love jojo is the friends I made from it, I joined the Fandom wiki community (and although it had its toxicity) I met one of my best friends there and had so much fun drawing things for my online buddies and chatting. Im not on the wiki anymore, but i still talk to some friends from it- and I still really enjoy the series itself PART 9 IS SO FUN SO FAR!!
Monster Hunter- really mh rise, I havent gotten to playing the other games (YET) but me and my sister play thsi game together, its awesome, I love the monsters, I got really good at drawing dragons because I would constantly draw the creatures from this series. I own the mh world artbook and that thing has got to be the best artbook ever- its my bible.
NieR/Drakengard- the same friend who recommended jojo to me recommended nier to me (he's such a real one, absolute bestie) We were gonna play replicant together but he got grounded so he let me experience it on my own. And I adored replicant, it was so fun to play with zero expectation of what it was. the Nier games may have my favorite sort of aesthetic but also I love its characters and its writing. Of course, when I got into Nier I went and played Drakengard also!!! Me and my sister played all these games together (tho she didnt play replicant with me, she just walked in on the most crucial plot points) But we played Drakengard 3 together, (ultimate sister bonding experience) and even though drakengard 3 IS SO FLAWED, we had a lot of fun. The Final Boss (which took me 3 weeks to beat btw) was so much fun for us (i still refight it sometimes) ... We of course played Drakengard 1, we spent $130 to get it actually, played it all (i suffered thru obtaining ending E) and we though it was awesome. Still havent played Drakengard 2 yet, but one day. I love this series for its writing, characters, aesthetics, and being able to discuss it with my evil sister.
Genshin- i dont wanna talk about it. I played it with friends, made me happy to become closer to ppl by playing it. I like some of the characters. ok bye...
Metal Gear Solid- My sister says I had the ultimate character arc by going from being obsessed with Genshin to being a die-hard Metal Gear Fan. I played all the games in late 2022, and it's probably the most brainrot I have ever experienced for a series- absolutely a cornerstone series. Everything about it is just awesome. I could go on for hours. I HAVE GONE ON FOR HOURS (to my poor friends) I literally made my tumblr just to look at metal gear fanart. The games inspired me to finally get better at drawing realism, and some of my most iconic art has come from my fanart for the games. I love my friends in the fanbase too, its awesome. I think about Metal Gear every single day. Never missed a dose of my metal gear fangirlling pills.
Silent Hill- My sister and I were playing sh2 together, then didnt play it for 6 months, and then I played the entire game without her (sorry maddy) Im still going through the 1st game and have the 3rd one in my backlog- but the atmosphere and psycological horror in these games is everything to me. The creature design and lighting choices have inspired my art, and I think about these games all the time. The latter half of sh2 actually terrified me a bit, and horror games dont really scare me.
Resident Evil- I have no idea how I got into the games but I played re4 over winter break this year, and realllly liked it- I adore Leon and I don't care what anybody else claims, HE IS MY MAN. But after re4 I played re2r and re7, and I just love the gameplay and the characters. Even if the games are really goofy and not really scary (I have balls of steel, re7 didnt scare me, but i loved the tension) But i love the goofiness and how campy they are. Me and my sister played re5 together and made a bunch of silly jokes- making resident evil multiplayer was the best decision ever. I can't wait to play the rest of the series.
Trigun- My most recent obsession (although it coincides with my silent hill and resident evil hyperfixations), I had first watched the show like 3 years ago- REALLLY LIKED IT- but didnt finish the anime. And then never touched it until I saw stampede's first episode. I went a watched the 1998 anime and read the manga. I can't describe how much this series has come to mean to me and it literally won't leave my head. I don't like stampede. I love the animation but I just can't. It's a-ok if your a fan, i genuinely see the appeal but you'll only catch me talking about it if its either about peak quality animation or a 3-hour rant about my problems with the writing. THE ORIGINAL SERIES HOWEVER! means the world to me. I reread volume 10 like 6 times and cried eachtime. My friend explains things to me in "trigun" terminology" as a joke when we have personal conversations. I love trigun so much.
Ok there's def more things I really enjoy, like Nijisanji, Ghost-n-pals, Chainsaw man, Death Stranding, Honkai Impact, Sailor Moon,,, the list goes on. But Everything I wrote essays about are my most physically obvious obsessions
Nijisanji actually deserves its own paragraph but im tired lol.

gonna chime in w/ yeah literally. i know someone with an artstyle similar to pizza tower('s main style influence) who has absolutely gotten judged and told the way he draws is an inherent red flag for, like, his entire personality and moral character basically. so its like everyone with similar flavors of manic-cartoony art styles watching pizza tower crash and burn like: 🧍‍♂️
Ughhh yeah Cal (my sibling) made a post about it already but both of our first exposure to the game (and the reason I liked it at all in the first place) was because a mutual friend said that it looked like something Cal would make. Which is true. So like seeing all these absurd takes is just. Man. Plus regardless of if you personally enjoy the style or not, it's absurdly well done on the technical side of things (the animation is insanely smooth among so many other things) and people dismissing it as the 4chan artstyle because it's wacky and intense and "ugly" are really showing their asses as people who have a shallow understanding of what makes art good.
Also this isn't to say you can't personally find an artstyle ugly or get bad vibes from it, but like. That's a subjective thing. And honestly something you should keep the fuck to yourself if you're talking shit about a smaller artist. Like. Have some god damn manners lmao

Looking at the Dragon Age Veilguard Gameplay Preview
WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO THE QUNARIS' DESIGN?? THE ENEMIES??! I SINCERELY THINK THE DEVS HAVE NEVER PICKED UP A OR SEEN A DUNGEON AND DRAGONS MANUAL IN THEIR LIVES. EVERYONE LOOKS LIKE A RESKINNED BIPED!
it really does look like a generic mobile game. same UI style too! it's strange to look at especially, if you're a PC player because the devs seemed to have assumed that your eye direction/ point of view is a phone screen and not the TV or the PC.
the lack of the tarot card artistry is gone. this devastates me immensely.
my god the companions dont shut up. not a goddamned moment's peace talking about the main plot. like I GET IT THE EVIL ELVEN GODS ARE EVIL.
usually i hate it when people sling the term "it's tumblr fanfic that's why its trash" willy nilly if they dont like the work. but this time i agree. it IS tumblr fanfic that's why it feels and sounds like trash. I know so. I've been in tumblr for years. I know the tropes and character stereotypes and what a fanfic looks like when the author has a pet favorite character, and prioritizes shipping more than writing a coherent story.
my repulsive redacted opinions below:
(redacted opinion that proves i'm homophobic aka pronoun locking relationships still fucking sucks and the devs could've tried making gameplay different depending on the pronouns because they obviously care about the pronouns so much.)
(redacted opinion that says i'm not impressed with the dialogue options because they all lead towards one path no matter what. there is no character and story dynamic change.)
(redacted opinion that proves i'm transphobic aka me saying that male and female bodies should look different visually. whats the point of taking the league of legends cartoony artstyle if you're not even willing to commit to the design principles of the style.)
(redacted opinion that proves i'm ableist aka bellara is made by a tumblrite writing their ideal autistic coded character with current year Disney flavor)
(redacted opinion that basically says "compare this game to Final Fantasy XV again and I will kill you until you're dead. You are wrong. I've played FFXV only for 6 hours and I just know you are wrong and I can't prove it.")
(redacted opinion about the devs saying "We made a better villain that has more presence than Corypheus". Bitch please. Never speak about Corypheus like that ever again.)

I'm not joking when I say more modern professional game devs should make 3d games with the technical aspects of a ps2 or wii's graphical capabilities in mind at maximum.
We have hit the point long ago where realism is boring and done, I can't tell 90% of them apart. We don't need to see the pores of this sad dad's face. We don't need to see every grain of sand. We don't need games larger than 100gb, and imo that is pushing it severely.
AAA devs need to relearn the art of a good artstyle under the limits of the console chosen. Games like Okami, Super Mario Sunshine, and Sly 2/3 still look great to this day. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet already look dated and it's only 2 years old. Instead of trying to make it as realistic as possible, you should instead make it look pleasing and memorable.
Western devs especially need to learn the art of COMPRESSION. The new COD will apparently be 300gb, and you'll still need to be online because the textures are streamed via cloud. What. Just- what???
There's also the need to stop trying to push your console to the limit with the game you're making. Sure, RDR2 gets a pass with this because howdy doo, it's actually good. But games on current and future consoles need to run WELL. They need to perform well and have less glitches than the past. Making a game on modern hardware as if you're making it for a few console gens back could at least help it to run better and smoother. Many cars can go 250mph, but you get a lot more out of it if you stick to speeds around 30 to 70mph, you dig?
Anyway I don't want photo realism, I want a nice, cartoony or anime looking game that takes advantage of good art to mask its flaws, I want it to run well and smooth on modern consoles and not lag or shit itself if I so much as look at a tree funny, and I want to be able to REASONABLY download games on a fixed data budget.
In short: stop going for real life, start making it look pleasing and making it run well, and stop using up most of my limited memory space

God actually completely unrelated to my last rant, i just have pokemon on the brain because its all over my dash right now and I wanna be a complainy bitch. Ive said this before I’ll say it again:
POKEMON FANS ARE WHINEY FUCKING CRYBABIES GAHHHH
Pokemon fans seriously only judge things based on nostalgia, all the games that were around when they were ten years old are “great, best pokemon game” and all the new switch games are “fucking garbage and I hate what gamefreaks doing to the series”
Newsflash from someone whos played every single gen of pokemon: The games quality is the same as when you were a kid. Swsh, scarlet violet, new pokemon games are fucking great. Especially story wise. Just because the models arent fuckin as realistic as you want them (Shitty complaint to me because 1) they look fine. Literally it all looks fine. The pokemon are well animated and full of personality. 2) If it was way realistic it might not look like it fits in the pokemon world which is a little cartoony, would hurt the playing experience, 3) It might also hurt the gameplay, impacting its loading time and also would force them to spend way more time texturing in the grand scheme of things: completely unnecessary details when they could focus on more important things, 4) older pokemon games werent that realistic but you dont complain about their charming graphics now do you, i could go on) doesnt mean theyre bad games.
Remakes are a good thing. So long as theyre still making new original games, which they are, theres nothing bad about remaking s game so a new generation of kids can play it. Really annoys me how hypocritical everyone was like “They should make games like when I was a kid” but then they remake diamond and pearl and everyones like “waaa its shit now” when the only change is Visual? If an artstyle change is enough to make you throw a fit: you’re a toddler, sorry. Grow up. I’m glad they have two remakes (legends doing something new and exciting for fans who want more added to their remakes and also remakes like bdsp that are very accurate to the original games for people who dont want major changes) because its the best of both worlds and should make everyone happy. If pokemon fans didnt complain about everything.
It’s good to complain about some things, I get being mad that gamefreak is forced to rush out their games for example. But that doesnt mean the games are bad, in fact theyre great for what time they had to work on them. Yes they could be better but that doesnt mean theyre anywhere near bad.
If i see one more pokemon fan complain like “im glad theyre not remaking gen 5 because theyd fuck it up” or “swsh/bdsp/sv is shit and garbage and pokemon isnt good anymore, unlike when I was a ten year old” im gonna scream and rip my hair out and throw barrels at you like im donkey kong

Regarding the pillars of eternity games. I've played them on Xbox so they had all the content from the start. They are still fun, but I have more time with the second one.
You could also try the games by owl. Pathfinder kingmaker and wrath of the righteous. Or the new Warhammer rouge trader game.
Again I've been messing with the games on Xbox, but kingmaker had a bit of a hiccup with a problem with the publisher and developer ownership rights. I think the PC version should be fine, may need to look up more on it.
The shadow run games may be fun for you same with disco Elysium or citizen sleeper. Then there's the wasteland games. I can only speak for the third title. Played it with a good buddy of mine, had some fun messing around.
I have good memories of playing the assassin's creed franchise and far cry 4 on the xbox. Didn't realise how good I had it then until I was slapped in the face by pc ubisoft launcher.
I've played disco elysium before and it's so. It's one of those games that genuinely feel like actual art. The ones you play and never forget for the rest of your life, the cult classics that will age life fine wine.
It was my introduction to text-based games. I've played visual novels before but they weren't the same yk, they are more linear and less about exploration or interacting with the world through only texts.
With Disco Elysium I felt like the world had so much to offer, so many ways I could use words to open so many different routes. Volition my beloved, I knew that I've picked you for a reason and definitely not out of randomness.
But because I was also new to dnd dice mechanics, I didn't know how to react to failure, yk? I saw failing as being locked out of content like in visual novels or other games. So I savescumed like hell and brute forced my own way through the game rather than going with the motion and seeing where the game itself takes me.
I've played it before the director's cut edition, so it is a good reason to replay it and embrace failure this time around.
For the other games, I'll make sure to check them and add them to my wishlist until a sale comes around! Thank you so much for the recommendations <33333
I'm new to this game genre so I don't have any recommendations to offer back, but there is one game that I've finished recently that had a legit phenomenal story. Bugsnax! It has a childish appearance ik but behind the artstyle there is genuinely one of the best characterisation and detective mystery stories I've played. It has queer characters too! I think it was on the xbox pass for a while? Not sure if it's still there but check it out if you have the time. I promise there is so much more past the colorful cartoony exterior, and not in a "wholesome cartoon game turns out to be cheap horror" way. I mean a legit compelling mystery detective game with actual characters that feel real, the voice acting is so well done too.

- wakes up 3 A.M., only to quickly scurry to their Sketchbook/Drawing Tablet bcs they had a sudden T-worded Idea for an Artwork and then passes out on their Bed later on again
- a lot of Times, they will also include their OCs into their Artworks

- don’t tease them, else they are gonna hit you back tenfold with one of their Tickling Artworks specifically designed to your Interests
- seriously, how can they whip out so many T-worded Ideas and Artworks in such a short Amount of Time?
Warrior:
- is purily fuelled by the Requests/Comissions of other People
- it has been Years since their Askbox has even remotely been empty (pls give them a Break, they probably desperately need one, they are literally rocking back and forth in their Froggy Chair as we speak- 👊😔)

- the Assassin sadistically laughs at your Suffering as you now have to clean up the Mess you created and you simply type a Keyboard Smash into the Comments under their Artwork to show your Frustration but also your Appreciation for them
- they are always that one Artist who unexpectedly hits poor and unsuspecting Lees/Lers/Switches with a Mood out of nowhere
Rogue:
- is known as the Gremlin inside the Tickling Community
- they absolutely love it and thrive when People get really flustered/Keyboard Smash in the Comments under their Artworks
- extremely mischievous pretty much towards everyone
- they’re also very likely that one Person in the Community who proudly posts Tickling Art on their Main Account/public Social Media (you should especially fear them, considering the Amount of Confidence they have)
