What do you think love is?okay before i found out im a lesbian, i didnt care abt romantic love at all. i always used to say that my friends would always matter way more than my boyfriend and spending my life w a man wasnt appealing and i didnt want any of that tbh, but since i realized i wasnt straight, i’ve always been a hopeless romantic and i’ve always hated when people said that love sucks or love hurts or those shit bc hell no. love is good and beautiful and yah people who love u can break your heart, but they will do anything to fix it. when people leave u and dont care, thats not love. it wasnt love that hurt you, it was the false promise of it. so my point is, ive always wanted love and those romantic gestures, being big or just cute little things, but i never understood how it would actually be. when i got my heart broken by my first gf, it hurt way more than i ever thought it would. and i know there are a lot of types of love and they’re all important and they all change you, but i’ve lost friends i loved and took way longer to move on from one of them, but the instantaneous desperation i felt when we were over was something different on many levels. but i already knew that people can overcome anything (and i strongly believe that everyone out there has a soulmate, even if they never find them. i think its like, u can be happy without your soulmate and even get married to someone else and spend the rest of your life together, but with your soulmate it would just… fit better somehow), anyways, ppl can even get over the death of their soulmates. people can always heal and move on, so ofc i wasnt gonna spend the rest of my life hung up on her, but damn i wanted to at the time. thats when i first realized how intense love is. eventually i moved on and saw how neglecting she was, and blah blah blah. but then… then i met mikaela. i swear to god, i would’ve never thought we would end up here. tbh idek why i hit her up. she didnt use herself as a profile pic and i used to think that blogs like that were weird. also, she was from stockholm. i knew that was far as hell and itd be complicated and just??? but for some reason i actually messaged her. and i remember that a month later, a few days after some drama we had that made us admit we liked each other, i told my friend (i think it was abby but idk) “i hope she’s my soulmate”. honestly, idk where im going with this, but i think love is something unique and it gives u hope and a reason to hold on and to fight for and live for. love is motivating and inspiring and i’m so glad i can experience it with her and be in love with her and have her love me back. honestly, love is magical and renovating and its in the flowers that i walk past and remind me of her, its in the night sky that make me wonder if she’s sleeping fine, its in the green of her eyes and the way she smile that makes my heart beat 10 times faster. love is her making me smile at literally any time ever, even when i’m sure she wont be able to. she always does. love is in every song or poem i write for her or that remind me of her. love is in the rain that makes me wanna kiss her and in the sun that makes me wanna watch the sunrise with her by my side and spend all my sunsets with her. love is in every “mikaela 🖤” written in my school books and in every one of my shirts that i wanna see her wearing. but specially, love is in every time i eat bc i know she wouldnt want me to stay hungry, no matter how much i might want that. love is in every glass of water i drink, even though i hate it, bc i wanna take care of myself for her. i wanna live for her, and that’s what love is.
