“of course, you can always count on me, love.”billy wants to annoy lucy gray and so her reaction is at first kind of disappointing, but the longer he studies her body language, the bigger his smile gets. alright, maybe he did succeed, after all. she must be at least a bit irritated. he lets out a laugh when her small hand finds his face and pushes him away. he briefly contemplates whether he should lick her cheek for good measure, but eventually decides against it. he doesn’t want to return to new york with a black eye. “thank you, now i’m two seconds away from getting emotional in some random target in the middle of nowhere, lucy gray. thank you very much,” the dark-haired man warns with a laugh, using his own hand to help dry her cheek and ear. making her happy is his only goal for this weekend, and it means the world to him to know that he’s succeeding. that his compliments mean something to her. “it’s a rare thing, too, you know? most people lose that fun, carefree side of them around the time they hit puberty. you’ll always be my rainbow princess,” he coos softly, hanging the snowsuit back reluctantly when she reminds him they’re running out of time. “fine, fine… i’m goin’. sure you don’t want the snowsuit?” but he’s already moving forward again, pushing the car to the far end of the store where the propane tanks should be. he’s one of those people who believe they have all the time in the world even when the store’s closing in five minutes. his laid-back attitude is to blame for this, or maybe he’s just too love-drunk to care. “maybe they have something similar two sizes up. we’ll ask around,” he teases, but keeps going, trying to ignore the toy section. all these cute teddy bears gazing longingly at him… that reminds him. god! he forgot to give her the present that he brought her from new york. it’s still in the backseat of his car. he makes a mental note to himself to hand it to her when they get back to their motel.
Tumblr media
“lucy gray? you said we was runnin’ out of time, didn’t you?” a mischievous grin spreading across his features, fingers tightening on the cart’s handle, “buckle up, babe.” and without further warning, he takes off, racing between the aisles, maneuvering around other customers, being obnoxious and making beep beep beep sounds with his mouth.
eyes immediately squeezed shut, trying to remind herself not to react as she felt extreme annoyance the moment he did that. "how sweet of you, darlin'. thank you." she fibbed as eyes came back open, pushing his face away with her hands, blaming it on being embarrassing in public not because the spit on her cheek and ear is gross feeling. she lifts her arm up and discreetly wipes it away. but of course, his next words make up for it. "y'know...that might just be the best compliment ever. no...it is the best compliment ever. that makes me real happy that i can still put you in mind of the girl you met that day." a wide, dazzling smile returned to her face. it made her extremely happy to know the same person still resided inside her and she could still be that same fun and whimsical spirit.
that growing up and even growing up in the circumstances she did, hadn't killed her inner magic. and besides all that, there was something just so special and sweet about it when she, too, could still see the little boy she first met that day too. even as tall as he'd gotten and did a little changing in his features and his voice all from puberty's toll, she perfectly still saw the sweet faced tinier cowboy prince from that spring day when she looked at him now. "i hope not. but speakin' of...no goofing off billy, we gotta hurry." she patted his arm quickly out of her nerves starting to kickstart at the reminder, he was so easy to distract. "uh huh. we know i barely surpassed this size." playfully rolling her eyes at herself when her gaze landed on the outfit he was presenting her, gently pushing it away despite thinking the same of it's cuteness. "i wish it was in my size. i'd definitely wear it." the teddy bear ears are so adorable and she loves pink as one of her many favorite colors.

Steve Zahn: From 1990s golden boy to 2020s depressed dad, with nudity all the way down
Tumblr media
Steve Zahn started his career in theater Biloxi Blues, Bye, Bye, Birdie, and the off-Broadway Sopistry: "a beloved philosophy professor is charged with sexually assaulting a male student. Gay themes are starting early.  Both Steve and his costar Ethan Hawke were cast in Reality Bites (1994), about depressed Gen X-ers in Houston. Steve plays one of those endlessly depressed gay guys you see in movies of the era, who doesn't actually do anything gay except come out to his mother.
 More weird, experimental, and depressing bits followed, such as SubUrbia (1996): Steve plays Buff, one of a group of disillusioned teens in the bleak urban wastelands of the 1990s.  I didn't live in a bleak urban wasteland, and there were no gay characters, so I couldn't relate.
Tumblr media
In a 1995 episode of Friends, we learn that Phoebe married a gay Canadian ice hockey player (Steve), so he can get his green card.  Except he decides that he's not gay after all.  Seems like a pattern developing.
Next came The Object of My Affection (1998), which I didn't see because it seemed homophobic: a gay guy turns straight because women are so hot, but then goes back to gay again.  Steve plays the gay-straight-gay guy's brother.
I avoided Saving Silverman (2001), thinking that it was about a lesbian who changes to straight. That appears to be another movie: this Silverman is a guy about to make a disastrous marriage, so his friends try to reunite him with the Girl of His Dreams.  One of the friends, J.D. (Jack Black), comes out and marries his high school Coach (R. Lee Ermy), but I think it's played for homophobic laughs.  Steve plays one of the friends, who here is trying to become flexible enough to perform oral sex on himself.  Just ask JD to do it for you.
In the thriller Joy Ride (2001),  Lewis (Paul Walker), traveling cross-country to pursue the Girl of His Dreams, of course, stops to pick up his estranged brother (Steve).
They run afoul of a road-rage driven trucker, but meet a girl for Steve to fade-out with.  Plus they have to walk into a gas station nude.
More Steve after the break
Tumblr media
We see some butt in Bandidas (2006), and maybe a flash of cock, but it goes by too quickly to know for sure.
In Sunshine Cleaning (2008), a responsible-goof-off pair of sisters start a crime scene cleanup service and have relationship problems.  Steve plays the married lover of the responsible one, who shows some butt.  The goof-off starts off straight, turns lesbian, and then turns back to straight again.
During the 2000s, Steve starred in several short-lived tv series: Mind Games, Treme, The Crossing, Valley of the Boom.  None of them sound familiar, but I remember his voice work on the Roderick Rules series, and a four-episode story arc on Modern Family as Claire and Phil's obnoxious neighbor.
In  White Lotus, Steve plays a middle-aged father who faces a testicular cancer scare, and discovers that his own father was gay and died of AIDS.  I guess they're interconnected
Tumblr media
I think my favorite Steve Zahn role is that of Uncle Peter, the snake-handling-preacher turned militia leader on The Righteous Gemstones, Season 3.  He doesn't convert any lesbians, and he's in charge of a male-only group like Kelvin's God Squad.
The nude photos are on RG Beefcake and Boyfriends

okay it's time
time to review the series "the gentlemen" on netflix.
yesterday i started to watch it but only got to episode 3 and gave up my bf though - a straight man still until now watches it, gulps it like it's orange juice, no surprise here. so here's my reasons why i hate it and i put it here cause none of my friends will understand my opinions and where i'm coming from and people just don't like opinions now the world is weird. moving on.
the first episode struck me in a really weird ,off putting way for a women. immediately you can see the script is written by a guy. and then in episode 2 you find out it is - yup this is all an imaginative\dreamy world for straight guys. obnoxious to me. gorgeous to my bf. moving on. the main character - cameron from white lotus - i think it's a bad choice of the casting - he's playing someone british and little bit cheeky and he lacks both. but his character is manly, cold, no emotions, just smart actions, precise, always have the best ideas for both worlds when there's conflict, always the one in charge and never the one who does a mistake, goof around or be happy. he is happy in a mind game of some sort. and this is the epitome of what every guy would love to be and aspire to me. - obnoxious but understandable. he's put now in a position of power thus becomes a boring man that always does the good thing. in a world with no complex humane emotions, a world of good and bad and solutions.
and then there's susie, a girl, powerful by powerful means emotionless, no turbulence, just a girl that loves money, power, mind games and boys, always decisive, always in charge. blugh.
what i hate in the world of art right now is really, the going to a bad or good world. you always have a hero that's responsible and just have to fix other people's issues, and then he becomes a winner, with a girl on his side. as if the world just operates like that. i have a friend that does a stupid mistake i will go and solve it and show that irresponsible person how to do things. as if were always here to correct, as if were always a problem solving humans. always have two sides good choice, or bad choice. life always gives you those options. and the violence in shows right now is baffling. revenge of the good guys is on fire. as if artists do that in a way to resolve their view of the world. but for the long term it will affect us negatively. believe me. we will become narrow minded, full of Self-importance, people who deserves some kind of solution or justice which doesn't really exist. it's an illusion. we will become more violent for the greater good. and always choosing a side. man will become more and more trying to aspire to those standards. it's just .. not realistic and making you wheels turn in a bad way.
soundtrack- good
really similar to the white lotus in the way that the story gets crazy - over it you guys. stop it it's not good.
i said it yesterday that we are probably in the cubism era, where we question everything classical. it bothers me but the world's changing and i'm an old goose.
but the thing that really made me tired is that every episode have this challenge they need to tackle. boringg. also the script is just so masculine. so that's why i gave up thank for being here. bye.

Tokoyami x Reader smut
Fourth post of October!! (I’m a little late but we don’t talk about it)
It’s literally just a self indulgent childhood friends to lovers smut. Don’t mind me.
Also not only are they 18+ (as you should be too if you are reading this) but Tokoyami is a 100% human boy for this. Bye Bye Birdie
Hope you guys enjoy though! If you like it, please take the time to reblog <3 It helps a ton! Also if you have any suggestions for what I write in the future, please feel free to leave them in my ask box!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Fuck this!”
You groaned softly, running a hand through your hair as you used the other to sip gingerly at your coffee. You and your best friend had been paired together to do an assignment for one of your classes and you were pretty sure at this point in your life that your professor was a sadist. Not to mention that Tokoyami was driving you absolutely insane.
You loved your best friend. You had been friends with him since you were both like four, but if he suggested doing your project on the anatomy of birds one more time, you were going to rip your hair out. “You’re not even doing that correctly.” He hissed as he looked over your shoulder at the laptop where you were currently typing out your prompts.
“What’s wrong with it?”
You pulled your feet up so that you were sitting crossed legged on the couch with the laptop resting on your lap. You were using Tokoyami’s apartment since you lived in the dorms and your room mate could get a little obnoxious with how loud they were. Even if you politely asked them to keep it down, they always seemed to manage to need to vacuum or whatever the fuck in the exact time period that you needed to focus
“You aren’t supposed to use our examples there.”
He huffed, rubbing his temples as his frustration just seemed to be fueling your own. You guys meant to start the project sooner but…you were best friends, not best classmates. You always ended up goofing off or getting sidetracked but now it was 1am and the project was due at 8am. You had waited until pretty much the last minute and were now absolutely screwed.
He reached over you, his body pressed flush against yours as he typed over you on the laptop. You guys had been friends for so long that you didn’t even notice the closeness between you two as you both huddled over the laptop in your lap. You watched the screen as he wrote, waiting for a few minutes of watching him absolutely massacre your project before you finally stepped in.
“That’s now how I want it done!”
You let out a soft whine at him, pushing at his arms lightly as if trying to forcibly remove him from the keyboard as you threw a little hissy fit. You honestly were worried about the project. It was a huge chunk of both of your grades, and you wanted it to be absolutely perfect but you both had such different ideas on how it should be done.
“Fine.”
He easily took the laptop off your lap and shoved it onto the coffee table, shoving you back against the couch with one of his hands pinning both of yours over your head and the other placed firmly against your chin so you had no choice but to look straight at him as he leaned so close to you that your noses were almost touching. The closeness that hadn’t seemed relevant before was suddenly painfully obvious as he placed himself over you with seeming ease.
You have never noticed it before but he was quite a bit bigger than you. If you had to guess you would say he was at least 6 inches taller and not to mention he was just built bigger. He worked out so his body was always well toned and just one of his biceps were honestly about the same size as your head. You felt the breath catch in your throat as he spoke, pressing his lips right against your ear as he did so.
“Tell me, then…How do you want it done, princess?”
He spoke in a hushed tone, his voice dropping an octave as you felt butterflies fill your stomach. Your back arched slightly off the couch on instinct as you felt his warm breath against your ear. You wanted to reply but it was like your brain had short circuited. You instinctively placed your hands against his toned chest, looking up at him with your entire face flushed bright red.
It wasn’t like you had never thought about Tokoyami in that sort of way…you had more wet dreams about him than you wanted to admit and if your dildo could speak, you’d be in trouble…but you always thought he considered a little sister. You had known each other for so long after all.
“I-I…Tokoyami…”
Your voice came out breathier than you wanted to admit as you could already feel the wet spot between your legs forming. You wanted to yeet yourself off the nearest bridge and pretend this never happened. Pretend that you weren’t getting horny off your best friend doing something as simple as pinning you down on the couch of his apartment when the two of you were alone and you had thought about fucking him more times than you could count.
He moved his knee, so it was placed directly against your crotch almost as if he were teasing you. You wanted to punch him in the gut and honestly you might have thought about it if he didn’t have your hands pinned above your head. You may be feisty, but you weren’t dumb enough to think you could break out of his grip if he didn’t want you to.
“I’ve thought about doing this to you so many times..”
He hummed as he moved his hand that wasn’t holding your wrists down your body, seeming to be taking in every curve with his eyes. Your heart was pounding against your chest as you realized you weren’t the only one. This entire time of holding back to preserve your friendship and he felt the same way? You cursed silently in your head, but it didn’t last long when he was yanking up your shirt, making a soft click in approval at what he saw.
“Held back for so long, princess…too long…”
He easily held your hands as his mouth latched onto one of your nipples. He tugged and played with the bud as his other hand wandered down in between your legs. Soft mewls left your lips before you could even stop them. Normally you would have been embarrassed by them, but your noises just seemed to excite him more as his hand started rubbing you through your pants.
You found yourself arching up into all his touches. The project you had been so worked up over just moments before had completely left your mind as all you could focus on were his touches. He unbuttoned your pants, letting go of your hands just to tug them off so you were completely vulnerable underneath him with your shirt shoved up so far you weren’t sure why you still had it on and the obvious wet spot that had formed on your underwear.
“Looks like you have no complaints~”
He smirked as he pressed right against the wet spot, dragging a soft moan from your lips before he leaned down and shove his face against your heat. He licked at the wet spot, not caring if you underwear were in the way which somehow made the entire thing more lewd than if he were just to lick your cunt.
You let out a soft needy whine as your now free hands went down to tangle in his hair as you were too turned on now to feel any embarrassment. You were suddenly glad he lived alone in his apartment as your moans got increasingly louder the more that he messed with you. His tongue pressing up against the fabric which just drove you insane as you were so close to the pleasure you needed and yet he denied you of it.
You let out a soft whine of complaint when he pulled away, wanting nothing more than to grab his head and shove it right back down but you didn’t get the chance. He flipped you over before you even registered what was happening. The back of his hand shoving your head down into the cushion as he grinded his still clothed cock against your ass.
He pulled your hips up so that your ass was propped up with your head still shoved deep into the cushions to muffle your noises. It didn’t take him long to shed his own jeans and boxers, grinding himself against your underwear with pleased groans.
“You look so beautiful like this~”
He purred as he ran one of his hands down your spin, the other moving your panties to the side so he could line himself up with your entrance. “Be a good girl and take it all, okay~?” He pushed inside of you with one hard thrust causing a loud moan to escape from your lips. You could feel him so deep inside of you, hitting right against your soft spot.
Just him being inside of you was driving you insane. Your body was instinctively twitching around his cock as if begging him to move. He groaned softly, leaning down so that his chest was pressed flushing against your back as he started to thrust. “You feel so good wrapped around my cock ~”
You couldn’t help the loud mewls and moans that left your lips with every thrust. Pleasure was coursing through your veins as you weakly clung to a pillow that was on the couch as if that were going to help you at all. His thrusts never seemed to slow down as he pounded into you at a steady pace, hitting right against your soft spot.
You were left a moaning, drooling mess as he had his way with your body; lewd noises filling the room every time his hips met your ass. Pleasure boiled in your stomach, threatening to push over with every push he made inside yet it wasn’t quite enough. You needed a little bit more.
As if reading your mind, his hand reached around, sliding inside your panties as he started rubbing right against your clit. You felt your thighs begin to quiver and your moans became more like broken sobs as the pleasure became almost overwhelming.
“T-T…okoyami…w-wa..it…ngh~!”
You whined loudly but it was difficult to make coherent words as your brain became muddled with the pleasure. “Shut up and take it, princess.” He pressed his lips against your ear as he spoke in a commanding tone, his thrusts getting faster as he let out soft moans. You felt your orgasm building up in your stomach as you desperately clawed at the pillow, your moans becoming louder as they filled the room the closer you got but you didn’t want to cum just yet. You felt embarrassed doing it so quickly.
Seeming to notice your hesitance, Tokoyami used the hand not messing with your clit to press against the back of your head again, forcing your face deep into the cushions as he spoke. “Cum for me.” He didn’t leave any room for argument as he slammed his cock deep insides of you, his fingers against your clit never letting up so you wouldn’t be allowed a second to relax.
Your body jerked and you let out a loud broken sob as your orgasm finally came crashing down. Your legs were shaking through the pleasure as the only thing keeping you up was his arm wrapped around your hips as he rubbed your clit through your orgasm. He only lasted a few more sloppy thrusts before he was cumming as well, groaning softly as he pumped you full.
“Shit…”
He hummed softly as he slowly pulled out of you so he could gently flip you over. He smiled softly when he saw your face, moving the hair from your forehead and placing a soft kiss as you looked up at him, still completely dazed from your orgasm. You couldn’t help but smile back as the soft gesture made you feel more loved than you wanted to admit.
“So…Was that how you wanted it done~?”
Number One Fan (Date Tech new manager flick)
I daydreamed an OC manager for Date Tech that’s cute, fiesty, and small. She’s in love with Aone (as I believe we all should be) and honestly as of right now that’s all l got...
I can’t sleep and can’t stop thinking about haikyuu so I revamped my old tumblr and bringing back my old fanfiction ways to sort out my feelings ya know... maybe i’ll continue this though.
~insert obnoxious coming of age movie alarm clock noise here~
I roll over to turn off my alarm clock and I groan, swiftly plopping back into my pillow face first and letting my wrist go limp of the side of the bed. I then feel my cell phone buzz from under my pillow and groan again. This time I prop myself up on my elbows and open my eyes for the first time this morning. I look at my phone to see that I have gotten an email from the coach of things to tell the players this morning as well as a speech for the end of practice about a new practice game. He also wants me to finish coordinating details for said practice game... against Karasuno. I haven’t been the manager of this team for very long, but from what I’ve heard from the boys, this is going to be one hell of a game, practice or not.
As soon as enter the group text that I have with the team I see the typing bubbles of most of my players pop in and out of the chat. Glad to know I’m not the only one up this early on a Saturday. I send my informative text about this afternoon’s practice and enticed them that I would have a surprise for them there. I lazily smiled, sitting up in my bed, reading their responses.
Kogane SSS: surprise??? I GOTTA KNOW
Captain Futa: why would you be shouting this early in the morning?
Kogane SSS: sorry captain but it is a chat i guess i-
Saku: can’t wait to hear the surprise after having a great practice, right guys?
I laughed and stretched, setting my phone back down and finally actually getting out of bed. After using the bathroom I brushed my teeth and splashed my face in cold water to help wake myself up more. I grabbed my hair brush and went back to my bed as I heard it vibrate more and more. I continued to brush out my hair as I read more of their messages....
Captain Futa: we will have a good long practice yes saku, thank you. WE WILL ALSO BE GOING ON A RUN IN TWENTY MINUTES AND WE’RE MEETING AT THE GYM. love you all can’t wait to see you there.
I think Futakuchi’s mean side is the funniest considering how much of a diva he is in real life. I like the message and then get back to getting ready; I quickly put my shortish red hair up into two small buns on either side of my head, and then change into my own Date Tech sports uniform. Just before I leave I grab my knee brace and put it on, slipping into my running shoes and grabbing my bag as I walk out the door. I text my mom to remind her of my morning run with the team so she isn’t worried to see my gone and then I hop onto my bike and head down the street towards my school.
At the next intersection I come to I see someone in a similar uniform on a bike stopped on the intersecting street.
“Good morning Aone-chan!” I feel myself blurt and I lift up on arm in an over the top wave. He barely gives me a nod back but still joins me as I cruise down the hill towards school. He’s so stoic and handsome, such a sweet soul, oh god, I’m so glad he lives so close so we can have this cherished alone time. I gawk at him as he passes me and leads the way for our unplanned, but totally planned by me as soon as I realized he rode his bike to school (but I’m not creepy I promise), morning bike rides.
“A nice time for a run don’t you think? I like when it’s still kind of dewy outside, it only feels like the air is biting back.” I feel him looking at me in his peripheral vision with those pointed eyes. I turn over and send him a smile,
“I’m sorry Aone-chan, if I’m talking your ear off just tell me.” I zoom past him on my bike and cross an intersection before him. I can now see the school so I decide to keep going instead of wait for him and embarrass myself anymore. I sigh to myself thinking about how beautiful he is and if I’m going to try to get close to him on the run.
Now that I’m at the school gym I lean my bike against the outside and gently toss my bag into the gym. the rest of the team, and soon Aone too, all stretch briefly outside of the gym. I like morning runs because they’re all too tired to talk and Kogane hasn’t quite started yelling yet. I say that with love, as I would probably consider Kogane to be my bestfriend. Or at least, he is the one that convinced me to take the position as club manager.
When we got put in the same class as first years we bonded over both playing volleyball. But, when I couldn’t play anymore, he begged me to come and take Mai’s place as manager. I’m thankful for him and our bond over this game, but man he is a pain in my ass most of the time.
“Think you can get up there faster than me today, Big Red?” Kogane looks down at me as I finish my stretches. I adjust my knee brace quickly before coming back at him, “I wouldn’t have it any other way.” He laughs and pats me on the head. I swat his hand away in frustration and thankfully the captain interrupts me with instructions for the boys. On his mark we all head out as a group, like green and white ducklings around town. I like doing some of the physical conditioning with these guys because not only does it keep me in shape, but it builds their trust with me. I think most of the people on the team already think of me as a friend, and that’s definitely a help in the transition to a new club manager. Except for Aone-chan. I can never seem to read that stone cold fox, what a shame. We make brief eye contact on the run as he passes by Kogane and I goofing off near the back of the pack. I blush intensely and Kogane notices, nudging me in the arm and laughing as we continue to jog.
Honestly I think the worst thing about being the volleyball club manager is being short. Having all these goofballs look down at me all the time is so annoying.
We begin to loop back around towards the gym and close off I can see the girls volleyball team, beginning their run. I stop in my tracks,
“Hi ladies!” I yell over and wave. A few of them turn around and yell back a hi before all of them stop to wave back at me.
“Bye Red!” one of them shouts before they turn back around and head back their own direction. I look forward again to see the clump of boys all running ahead of me now. I haven’t even been away from it a season yet, but I already miss playing volleyball. I swallow hard and bend over to adjust my knee brace, glad I stopped as I was starting to feel some discomfort.
“Kaida are you okay?” I look up and see Kogane and the others stopped ahead of me, all looking behind. I blush out of embarrassment for the second time this morning and quickly hold up a thumbs up. I get smiles in return and quickly catch back up to them so we can finish out the run. The captain has us sprint back the rest of the way to the gym and I slow back and watch the younger guys all race back. The third years give a devilish look and rush to beat the rest, have to prove their still on top I guess.
I peek back into the gym to see that most of the team had stayed back in the gym once we got back, having the janitor that was their unlock the closet for them so they could get out the volleyballs. I grab my bag and wave at them, “See you boys later!” some of them wave back in response. Aone doesn’t seem to notice, but Kogane shouts out across the gym, “Yeah for the surprise!”
“Don’t get your hopes up. It’s not like it’s big or anything.” I talk loud enough to be heard over the sound of volleyballs being served and hit across the gym. Kogane just shrugs and I shake my head.
I use my key that I got from coach to open up the club office and set my bag down next to the desk. I pull out my planner and look at my emails from coach again on my phone.
“Right, before I go home I need to secure this practice game with Karasuno.” I speak softly to myself as I write the phone number down on the contact page of my planner. To be fair I never thought I would like this side of managing as much as I do. The organizing, the phone calls, the paperwork for matches; it’s all kind of soothing to me oddly enough.
“Good morning, I’m Kaida Hagiwara and I’m the manager for Date Te-”
“Oh yes miss Hagiwara I have heard about you from your coach. In fact he said you would probably call me this morning to talk about some details for a practice game?” I hear Karasuno’s faculty advisor, Takeda,interrupt me in a sweet and civil way which is surprising enough.
“Uhm yes that would be me...” I nervously laugh over the phone but choke it back so that i can get down to business so to speak.
I scribble down whatever info I need in my planner as we volley, I reflect on this thought and laugh at myself now, back and forth to make sure this is smooth and quick for both teams as we prepare for the season to start. I can’t wait to tell the team at practice; I wonder if I can get a reaction out of Aone-chan when I say it.
“Well, thank you very much, we look forward to seeing you all here.” I finish up and hang up the phone after I hear their advisor say his goodbyes. I let out a heavy sigh and almost shake the formalness back off of me. Deciding to send a response email back to coach before I leave, I slowly pack up and lock the office before heading back to my bike so that I could ride home. The sun is now fully out, and civilization has awoken as I pass by cars and people opening their small shops for the day on my way home.
As I get ready to shower this run off my body so that i can go back to sleep for multiple hours I hear and see the group text of the volleyball boys blow up as they all talk about the game that’s happening on TV currently. I roll my eyes and silence my phone, deciding to separate myself from them until practice later (probably for the best).
The steam builds around me and I can feel any stress lifting from my body, but at the same time my brain keeps flashing to seeing the girls on their run. To think if I hadn’t gotten injured I would have been there with them, preparing myself for the start of a new season.
I came in as a first year and quickly became the libero for the girls volleyball club at Date Tech High. I’m only 5′1″ and was always a very tenacious, loud mouth character on the court. It made me perfect for the libero postion. I was loud enough to control what was going on from the back of it all. I enjoyed playing so much.
“ugh shut up you’re fine” I huff to myself and let the water hit my face for a moment. I turn off the water and reach out into the fading steam and grab my towel. Now that I’m dried off I scroll through the messages and other notifications on my phone. I reply to a few messages and then head back into my room flopping onto my bed. I lay there in that position for what seems like forever, my phone hovering above me as I mindlessly scroll.
The rest of my free time for the day is filled with homework and social media as I wait for my next volleyball club duty.
As I’m eating with my mother before practice, she updates me on her life at work and I update her about how my second year of high school is starting but mostly the volleyball team, of course.
“I’m glad you are able to still be so connected to the sport. You absolutely light up when you talk about it, Kaida,” he smiles over to me from the kitchen as I sit across from her at our dining table. Through the window I can see a figure pop up across the street and I immediately perk up. I look over at the clock before rushing to get my bag and shoes. “Mom, I have to go to practice now!” I can hear her say something back but I don’t quite know what she said. I burst out the door and shout across the street.
“Aone-chan!” I wave and he turns, only looking at me and stopping as if that was enough of a response. His silence is so hot though, I gotta say. i jog to catch up with him and we start the walk back to the gym. He staggers above me; honestly, I look like an annoying little squirrel that’s just chattering up a tree every time I talk to him. Ugh, but then I get stuck thinking about how cute we could be as a couple and I melt,
“Do you wanna know the secret?” I look up at him and he gives me a small glance. He nods quickly before looking at the ground and I giggle.
“Coach and I have secured a little practice game training camp with some people from the prefecture...”
“Who?” I quickly add it to the mental tally of words that you have spoken to me. This puts us at seven since I came on as manager.
“Well... Aobajohsai, Ohgiminami, and.. Karasuno” I feel his eyes go wide and he catches his breath in a small shock. “You’re not upset are you Aone-chan.”
He stops walking and it catches me off guard. I turn to face him and he looks down at me, “It’s great that we can play such great teams so early. Thank you for putting that together for us.” I feel my heart fall out of my chest. I think I’ve had my mouth open for thirty seconds... I can’t believe I got all the way to 26 words in one day. His voice is so magical it makes me dizzy whenever I finally hear it.
I snap back to reality after a moment, “Of course, it’s my responsibility to do that kind of stuff. Especially for you Aone-chan.” I bite my lip and he quickly looks away again. I sigh and roll my eyes and slink back behind him as we walk into the gym. I’m glad he’s excited, and that he talked to me. I hope the other boys are just as excited. These practice games are going to be a good way for us to size up how the competition has evolved this season. Aone is right, it’s going to hopefully be an advantage for us later.
And as another practice starts I find my self already hyping up for what I can tell is going to be a very successful season of volleyball for Date Tech, and their Iron Wall.
Literally if you read all of this thank you omg I have just babbled on forever I’m sorry. I don’t have much planned for this idea in my head, but I have a few cute ideas.
--------------
Sitting at a cafe, skimming over the pages on the faded pages with stains of blank inked words filling up in lines of fiction, a drop of water was hit onto the page and made your head shake and eyes shut. The book was famous for making any person, no matter how cold and emotionless they were to shed a tear or too.
A sigh upon your lips left your mouth and you shut the book with speed, not wanting any more tears to fall and ruin your emotionless demeanour you seemed to have built up over the years.
A man sat down next to you, whom, you were lucky enough to call your best friend of Wong Yukhei or as others knew him by: Lucas.
His head tilted to the side a little as he pursed in his lips, seeing your cheeks were a little damp and put a hand on your shoulder. "You okay?" You just returned a small nod whilst sniffing and brought your head up to meet his eyes, "Yeah I'm fine Yukhei. You were right, this book can bring just about everyone to shed a few tears." You laughed, a whole pain of past and presence behind it which the raven coloured hair just rubbed your shoulder in understanding.
You'd never told your best friend of almost a decade as to why you would be so cold and reserved like this, sure Yukhei knew of your past but, not the one thing that brought the most painful of memories that you could never let go of, no matter how hard you tried.
He saw the look and hesitation in your eyes and cupped his cheeks into his large palms. "How about we go out for a drive after this and I'll drop you off at his thinking spot?" He questioned and knew that's where you needed to be.
You didn't know but Yukhei could read you that well; even when you had your guard fully up, you were an open book to him about nearly anything except, for your late teen years into adulthood was the biggest mystery to him.
You scrunched up your nose and gave a small smile and a couple seconds eye-contact to the tall male who was still cupping your face with his gigantic hands. "That would be great if you could... I want you to stay with me though thus time." Your small smile going weak as you placed your average hands on top of Yukhei's and brushing your thumb over his long fingers.
"Of course I will, you know I will do so for you."  Yukhei returned the smile back, removing his hands from your face but holding them in his own. "You can talk to me about what's  on your mind if you want, always remember that. I'm here for you just as you've always been there for me." His dark chocolate eyes looking into your crystal watery ones before you rolled your eyes at the male. "Yes I'm aware you big goof, why do you think I want you to stay?" You chuckled out, feeling glad to have his company with you just now.
"Becuase I am Wong Yukhei and you loveeeee me too much." He teased out which made you roll your eyes at your best friend and playfully smack his forearm. "Uh huh, sureeeee I do." Your tone being playful as you continued to laugh, your smile brightening and Yukhei's growing to see your mood picking back up.
"Its nice seeing you laugh and smile instead of wanting to kill somebody, it really suits you." The male confessed out which made your eyes gape wide and nearly spit the iced coffee at his face but managed to keep it in but joking as you swallowed and almost choked instead.
"D-damn Yukhei, who knew you could be so smooth with your words?" You played out smoothly as you coughed harshly a few times to prevent from choking further. "My ladys of course." He sent a playful yet friendly wink to you, your own eyes rolling to the back of your head again at the flirt your friend was. "Okay you big flirt, hakuna your matattas." Your eyebrows wiggling; the male scoffing the slightest whilst swinging on the stool he sat on, leaning forward to point his finger at you once on all four legs again.
"God sake you really wanna be the death of me one day don't you? Be lucky I love you bitch or I'd kick your arse." His threat being harmless to you just as harmless as he made it come across and for you to stick your tongue out at him. "Suck my big toe if you have a problem with me then." You spoke back.
The both of you now just staring at each other, a cafe worker who Yukhei and you were friends with noticing the scene between the pair sitting at the back of the cafe smirking to himself. 'One of those dumbasses has to confess soon.' Jungwoo thought to himself before going back to cleaning the dishes.
The time was now around mid afternoon just as the pair decided to head out and to your favourite thinking spot. Yukhei stopping to talk to Jungwoo as you headed on to the toilet for the longish drive ahead.
Once out sight, Jungwoo snapped his head to face the younger male and smacked his chest and slanted his eyes to him. "Alright mister, when you confessing to her, it's been about a half a year when you finally admitted your feelings about them to yourself and no movement forward?" Jungwoo spoke rather quickly making Yukhei take a few seconds longer to aboard and process what the light brown haired male was saying to him.
"I don't know when, I go to but then it always get interrupted by a specific someone with his boyfriend." Lucas said staring up and down at Jungwoo. "Or like, I dunno, it's just how to you go up the the person you like and be like.. yo I like the fuck out of you and wanna kiss your lips till they are swollen." Yukhei spoke out a little too loudly for comfort, Jungwoo grabbing his ear and lightly hitting the pack of his head. "You fucking twat, want the whole cafe to hear?" Jungwoo whispered shouted to him, Yukhei partly glaring back at him, "well least they would know I'd like them then."
"Like who?" You spoke out in confusion as to how Jungwoo was still holding onto his friends ear and caused you to furrow your eyebrows at the pair of them and to how much authorative and control Jungwoo held over Yukhei just now.
Yukhei pulled away from Jungwoo, looking down at you and just smiled, messing the crown of your hair up. "No one really important, just a fling I guess." His shoulders shrugging causing you to go back to an emotionless face and nod quickly a few times before speaking blankly: "Alright, well let's go and we'll see you later tonight Jungwoo and tell Doyoung I say hi." You gave a tiny smile and waved him goodbye whilst dragging your obnoxiously tall friend out the cafe, Jungwoo shouting bye to both and to have fun till later.
Reaching the car, yourself and Yukhei slipped into the seats, bulking up before he reversed out of the driving space, leaning back to look. Your heart racing as he looked more attractive than he already did by doing this and knew he was doing it to tease you as when he turned to face you, a smirk was plastered across his face and didn't look one bit remorseful. "Nice blushed cheeks you have there." He played out coolily, winking at you, making you slapped his defined bicep and look at the road. "Concentrate on driving instead of flirting dork." Your voice still being a blank and emotionless as it was in the cafe.
Yukhei just sighed, unable to get through to you at the current moment and drove onto the main road till a slip country road appeared and went off there.
The entire car journey was in a comfortable silence with some country music playing in the foreground as you stared out the window, enjoying seeing all the country side surrounding and let out a content sigh when society was getting further away. Yukhei glancing at you, a soft smile going onto his face.
He brought his hand to gently place where the knee meets the thigh, rubbing it slightly, feeling you tense for a moment before relaxing again, shifting in the seat indicating you were comfortable enough.
"Lucas, I'm uh- I'm glad you're in my life and that you have stuck by me even when I shut you out for a number of months." You quietly spoke up, turning to him to see that he was already looking at you, facing the road again once making eye-contact.
Yukhei was a bit taken-a-back since you use Lucas as a way to get a more serious or important note or message across to him, his hand rubbing on your knee for a few more seconds before going back onto the steering wheel.
"I don't see why I would have the right to just walk out your life when you needed time and space to think, you've been there for my worst moments so it's only right I do the same for my favourite human." His voice genuine and a happy grin going across his face as you continued to look at him and placed a hand on his thigh, feeling him tense up causing you to laugh a bit.
"Now that's the laugh I love to hear." Yukhei muttered out to himself, not knowing you had furrowed your brows at wanting to know what he had just said but left it anyways.
After the soft moment, it went silent in the car again, a childhood song coming onto play. 'Love that lets go' by Miley and Billy-ray Cyrus.
You deeply inhaled as this was a song that could easily bring you to tears as it's the one that got you through one of your many darkest times but definitely your most painful.
Saved by Yukhei taking a turn to a reserved area or rural forest that barley had source of human contact, he took the key out of ignition turning to see a worried look on your face and cupped your chin to look at him.
"Whatever is on your mind, you can tell me and I'll happily listen." His voice soft and comforting as it stroked your cheek; you biting down on your lip trying to hold back tears as he spoke and closed your eyes for a few seconds.
"I'll tell you but I need to be at the spot." You gave a smile to let him know you'll be okay and that you love him for what he's doing just now.
Getting out the cheap red corsa, Yukhei came by your side and took your hand into his, squeezing it as he did, letting you know it's okay to cry if you needed too. You squeezed back for two reasons: one because of how sweet it was; the second being it felt like being in a relationship with your best friend. Not that you would mind and wouldn't ruin the friendship you pair had, it was just waiting till one of you had the guts to as the other out in simplistic terms.
Nevertheless, Yukhei lead both of you to your spot, an open meadow with a couple boulders in the ground and a view of the mountain top to the left. Both took a seat on the boulder that was smooth and stable enough to sit on that had surrounding blue, red and purple wild rare flowers as well as the luscious green grass surrounding the dim glare object: kinda how Yukhei bright colour into your life.
Moments had passed and you were fidgeting with your hands, trying to word how you wanted to say something to him but him beating you too it. "If you just wanna stay silent and think out your thoughts, that's alright as I will too." This point you stared at him, Yukhei's eyes already looking into your broken yet life filled eyes and flashed a warm smile. "Your are far too good for me Wong Yukhei." You smiled out to him causing him to laugh and shake his head. "Says the most empathic and sympathetic person I know." A blush going across your face and giving him a light shove, Yukhei shoving you back till a small laughter emerged between the both of you and ended up in you resting your head on his broad shoulder.
"I- uhm, I think you should know the mystery you have wanted to know since we were seventeen." You confessed, Yukhei's eyes widening at what you were about to do; break down the last of your wall to him and show him the reason why you were so guarded but helpful to others all at once. The raven haired male only nodded and wrapped his arm around your shoulder, pecking your forehead before looking down at you. "Only if you're comfortable and really sire you are ready too."
Your heads looking down and up at another, a new aura and tension slowly building the longer you lingered in each other's eyes and glanced at each other's lips every few seconds until Yukhei coughed and broke the contact.
An exhale exiting you as you gave a firm nod and stroked his cheek lovingly. "If I wasn't ready to tell you, I wouldn't have read the book or brought you here." Which Yukhei knew one was true. This hideout spot was your safe place that only he and you knew of. You showed him one day and times like these when you let him more into your life, you let him comfort you as he just listened intently and gave you big warm bear-like hugs.
Breaking the small silence between you that was forming and riddening of your shaky voice: you spoke up. "It was January time, not long before you were eighteen actually. Of course you know I went away around the second week on the Thursday and didn't come back till the Tuesday before your birthday." You took a pause, fiddling with your fingers and Yukhei just hugged you higher and rubbed the side of your shoulder.
"There was drama happening within my family but then my papa got sick, fast and went down-hill fast. He went to the doctors but was told to go to the hospital, after scans and being kept in over night for more scans, he was d-diagnosed with..." You paused quickly, letting tears drop from your burning eyes before continuing again, "He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. More tests were done and on the following Tuesday they said they found it in other places of his body, he wasn't able to get any form of chemotherapy as he was too sick and dying quicker than time was available." You choked out and let out a sob, burrying your face into Yukhei's comforting chest and cried hard for a few minutes before pulling away and looking at his damp shirt of your stained tears. "He died on the Friday whilst my gran was in the room with him and it tore the entire family apart... I became a introverted mess, worse than before, my mum and my uncle's were never the same again and my gran died not long after my papa passed as she grew depressed quickly and.." You broke down, unable to say anymore as tears streamed down your face like a rapid river and never seemed to end.
Yukhei kept himself from wanting to cry as to his broken you sounded. Yes he knew about both sides of your grandparents being dead but he also knew your papa meant a lot to you, especially with how close he was to you and how he was always there when you had swimming competitions he could visit along with your gran and how he would take you on long bike rides in the country and go horse riding once and nearly see you face plant the ground but stayed on fortunately.
Clenching your hands on his shirt as you cried more into his shirt if possible. "He died only after being five days diagnosed with the cancer and the last thing he said to me was thank you and I never knew why till my dad told me two an hour after he died. It hurt so much and it still does, no matter how hard I try to let everything go and just move on, it's impossible to do and I don't know why.."
More minutes were spent crying until they eventually simmered down and stopped going violently down your face, sniffling with a now heavily blocked nose. "And the book.. It was similar book my papa gave me, it was an old book and it was hard to read but I still read it anyways just kinda like that one expect new just covered in food and finger stains." The tiniest of chuckles leaving you. "It kinda showed me thay I've got to move on even if I am not ready and how I have made new chapters in my life, the best kind of love I can give to the past but still keep with me is the love that lets go." You finished speaking now, realising the mess you had made of Yukhei's shirt and gasped a little whilst patting at the soaked material.
His hand pressing onto yours, stopping your movements which made you look up at him to realise how he had also been crying the smallest bit, your hands reaching to cup his cheeks and sat up immediately sitting up and turning to face the sympathetic looking male. "I'm sorry I kinda ruined all of your shirt and made you cry, I didn't mean too."
He only let out a sigh, wiping away the last of your falling tears and out stared at you. "Of all the things you could say and just continue crying, you apologise, you're so cute and goofy I swear." Yukhei just said with so many hidden emotions and just was speechless for words. "You amaze me with just how strong you are and with how much you have lost in life you are still so considerate towards others despite the cold aura you bring about." Your own hands still cupping his cheeks as you just stared at his facial features, admiring the man you had fallen in love with and weren't sure as to how long you could keep it back but knew it wasn't the correct time after the emotions going around.
After mot replying, Yukhei just assumed you wanted time to think, as did he about his feelings for you and everything else.
Both now sat against the boulder as a warm cuddle was shared between the two of you that were needing it just now. A sigh left his lips, seeing the sun now setting into a deep orange-red colour and nudged your dozing off frame, softly whispering into your ear. "We gotta get back to reality now, hate to break it to you." Groaning as you lifted your head from Yukhei's lap to lean against the muscular shoulder instead. "Can't we just stay here forever and be shut out from the world?" You asked, knowing the answer already and Yukhei just laughed at your response.
After spending almost three hours at your favourite location, you drove back this time to Yukhei's and Jungwoo's apartment where you'd almost be met with a few more college friends. Just as you were pulling into the drive, the same song as earlier came on and you just sat telling Yukhei to go in and change, being in shortly behind him.
'I love you papa but I'm slowly ready to move on and let go and start more chapters just as you wished too but couldn't.' You thought to yourself, holding onto your heart shaped locket that held a framed picture of him inside of it; remembering the memory of when the picture was taken, feeling your heart-break but also get a source of closure you needed, feeling a chill go through you as you did.
It was then early into a Saturday morning and only Yukhei, Jungwoo, Doyoung and you remained left in the apartment cleaning up the small mess that was there. Doyoung and you cleaning up the living room area and kitchen as the other two males did the bedrooms.
"So when are you going to become mister wongs over there." Doyoung spoke shifting his head to the direction he was in. "How about when I feel like it and when I get the guts too." You sassed back at the normally sarcastic male. "Pleaseeee, anyone with eyes can see the pair of you practically droll over another, especially when you both do that weird eye-contact message thing." His sarcasm now starting to show which you clicked your tongue too as you were expecting that. "Fine, I'll do it when I next get the chance." You sighed, Doyoung grinning as he flashed a wink to Jungwoo who had entered the room, Yukhei entering after. "Guess that won't be long then." He whispered nudging your side.
Sitting in one of his oversized hoodies on a Wednesday night after your swim training hasn't long finished. A knock at your door was heard with a rather flustered and messy haired Yukhei. "Y-yukhei are you okay?" You spoke up, worried as he was panting heavily but nodded, making his way to your kitchen; you following in suit.
After having a drink and some toast to eat, sitting on the couch in the joined kitchen-living area, watching Moana with a more calm and relaxed Yukhei.
It was playing the scene of Moana seeing her grandma in spirit form on the boat when Yukhei shifted uncomfortably and clearly agitated about something. Poking his firm waist and looking with worried eyes you held his band, interlocking your fingers with his. "What's bothering you Yuk?"
"I just... look, you're wearing one of my hoodies that you kept months ago and it was that hoodie that made me realise the moment I let go of it for you to keep that I was in love with you, not just as your best friend but more, someone I want to keep by my side and love till the day we part another and just.. you've made me a better person and brought me out of phases I never thought I'd be able to get out of and never left my side no matter how horrible I was to you and I don't always understand why." Yukhei's cheeks burning hot from blushing and his eyes looking from you the hoodie you were in the back at you.
At the moment you only laughed and moved your hand around the flustered Yukhei once again and leaning in closer to him. "Maybe it's because along the way of our time together, I realised myself, that I was in love with you and would never leave you no matter the circumstances as I knew the you only needed space and time to realise the real you." You confessed back and Yukhei locking eyes with you.
You were getting lost in a addicting trance of his dark chocolate eyes as he was to your eyes, both of your moving your eyes to lips and back again before getting impatient and finding yourself leaning in too kiss Yukhei with a tender passionate kiss on the lips.
Staying like that for a few moments before moving his lips moving against yours in a gently motion, a smile and grin being felt on each other's faces before pulling away and pecking his lips one last time.
He pecked your forehead whilst smiling happily as you also showed it, a different alive look in your eyes as you rubbed the back of his neck with his thumb. "I love you Yukhei." "I love you too baby." Both speaking softly before pecking each other's lips and returning to watch the film.
You'd come a long way in your life now and with if not always being easy, you found the easiest love of letting go when ready and moving to new chapters, taking on the pain that never fades but only just use to as time goes on, taking chances and knowing you'd have Yukhei by your side along the way made your heart warm and race and you leaned into his chest, holding his hand for the long future road ahead.
[ sakura’s secret ] rating: m
// i don’t encourage underage drinking ~
previous | next
Sakura kept the napkin with Sasuke’s number hidden in her pocket until her and Mebuki arrived home. She hadn’t talked the entire way, as she was lost in her thoughts and trying to process just what she was going to do with his number.
“Good night,” she called down the stairs before closing her door behind her. The click of the lock sounded and she pulled the napkin from her pocket and stared at it.
Was this real life or some horrible prank he was playing on her? The look in his eyes couldn’t have been fake, no.
Sakura pulled her phone out of her bag and began to add a new contact for his information. Instead of putting his actual name though, she wrote something casual in, as to not get him in trouble if anyone decided to go through her phone -- Ino, she thought.
Her fingers began to type and by the time she finished entering his information, Sasuke was now in her phone as Himitsu U. She couldn’t think of a clever last name, so the ‘U’ would suffice for now.
Sasuke was her secret. It didn’t matter to her how much she wanted to confide in Ino and tell her everything. This was something she’d take to the grave with her because now that she began to accept and acknowledge her feelings, she was finding a comfortable progression moving forward with him. Although he was her sensei, she couldn’t deny what her heart wanted. And it was easily becoming clear that she wanted him.
She wanted to know about him, wanted to see him more. Sakura wanted to be able to go out and do things with him, travel, explore, experience new fun and exciting things, but she couldn’t. Her mother would be ballistic if she found out, Ino would never forgive her, her reputation would be ruined and as far as Sasuke went, he’d be without a job and in jail.
Frustration overtook her emotions now as she curled her knees up to her chest and laid her head against them.
Life just wasn’t fair.
.
.
.
Sakura shuddered at the weather when she checked it. It was now seven o’clock and Ino would be at her house soon. When Sakura began to go through her closet, she picked out the perfect outfit for the night.
One of her new pairs of skinny jeans, her simple black long sleeve, her ruby infinity scarf, a faded green jacket and a pair of high ankle boots. She felt somewhat uncomfortable at first as she looked in the mirror, but when she began to fix her makeup and apply winged eyeliner with a very natural smoky eye, accompanied by a nude shade for her lips, she felt gorgeous. Her hair went up in a bun on top of her head, messy but cute, and the moment she finished, she felt amazing.
“You did good,” she praised herself as she twirled around in front of the mirror. The moment she stopped and stared at herself, she began to wonder what would Sasuke think? Maybe if she just sent a quick selfie --
“Forehead! Unlock the door!”
Sakura hugged herself around her shoulders out of embarrassment before hopping over to the door.
“You could’ve told me you were here!” She shouted back before unlocking and opening the door. “What time is it anyways?”
“After eight,” Ino answered as she eyed Sakura. “Damn. You outdid yourself tonight. Anyone you plan on seeing?” The blonde winked at her.
Sakura’s face went completely red the second she thought about Sasuke,  but she instantly waved her hands in front of her face. “Absolutely not!”
A low hum came from Ino before she smiled. “My little flower growing up. I’m so proud!”
“Ew, shut up!” Sakura laughed before playfully nudging her friend.
Ino only laughed before her phone began to vibrate obnoxiously. “We need to go. Naruto has been blowing my phone up for hours now. He’s concerned that we’re not going to show up,” she rolled her eyes before her thumbs began to move furiously over the screen of her phone. “I should just block his number for the night,” she muttered under her breath.
“Anyways, my dad is outside. I figured we would just stay with Naruto tonight and make sure he doesn’t do anything too stupid. You talked to your mom about that, right?”
“Yeah, she’s okay with it,” Sakura nodded. She enjoyed that her mother was actually letting her have some sort of freedom with her friends lately. Being a good child her entire life came with some perks.
“Good. Hopefully Naruto invited some good looking guys from other schools. I’m so tired of the boys at our school,” Ino complained as they walked out of Sakura’s room and towards the stairs. “Is it so hard to find a good guy who has his shit together?”
No. Not really, Sakura answered internally as she thought about Sasuke. She frowned at herself, angry that she would even think that. Her emerald eyes rolled as she followed behind Ino quietly. She grabbed her bag and keys that were waiting by the front door and locked the door behind her.
In the parking lot waiting was Inoichi and as they entered the vehicle, he smiled kindly towards Sakura. “Finally Naruto’s big seventeenth birthday, huh?”
“Yep--” Sakura started to answer, before Ino cut her off.
“I still don’t know why the school let him skip a grade so early on. He’s hardly got an idea of what goes on.”
Sakura felt her eyes narrow while she exhaled quickly. “That was rude,” she commented.
“I’m just saying! He probably should’ve denied their offer. It would’ve been the better of the two choices.”
“Now, Ino. It’s not kind to insult others,” her father scolded, yet when he looked her way, he still had a smile on his face.
The younger blonde didn’t answer, only buckled her seatbelt and waited for her father to pull out of Sakura’s driveway and began their drive towards Kiba’s house. Sakura had never been there, but according to Ino, their family had quite a huge house. Along with it, came a large two door detached garage that all the guys would use for parties -- it had apparently been redone inside recently, so Sakura was eager to see it.
Song after, songs played in the car as Ino skipped through the playlist. She was always like this in the car: never content with anything that played unless she was really in the mood to sit down and listen to the lyrics. Sakura simply ignored the fact that they wouldn’t be listening to an entire song during the drive. Thankfully they didn’t have much farther to go.
“It’s this one!” Ino shouted.
Inoichi began to slow down and turn his vehicle down the street that the large house resided on. When Sakura glanced out the window, she was amazed at how big his place actually was.
“They breed and raise dogs,” Ino began to explain. “They have a ton of property where they train them and when they upgraded from the garage, his mom gave it to him to just have. That’s pretty cool if you ask me.”
Sakura agreed quietly as she watched lights flashing from within the building and the low thuds of bass could be heard as the car was parked.
“Call if you need anything, sweetheart. And be safe,” Inoichi warned Ino before leaning in and placing a gentle kiss to her temple.
Ino smiled back at her father, and Sakura would never admit it, but she was jealous of the moments that Ino shared with her father; it made her feel heartsick, much like she had lost her father to his job.
“Bye, girls!”
They each waved, their bags thrown over their shoulders as they walked towards the garage. There were already multiple kids standing around outside and the closer they came to Kiba’s place, the louder the music grew along with shouts and yells from inside.
“Ino! Sakura!” Naruto’s voice broke out from the crowd the second they entered. It was obvious that he had started drinking early, as his eyes were puffy and red, while his words slurred through his yells. “I didn’t think you were coming!”
Sakura laughed, but leaned into his hug. Before it got too late in the night and she forgot, she pulled his present from her bag and handed it to him.
“It’s fragile, so don’t break it,” she warned as he took it from her hands with excited eyes.
He began to throw the paper from the bag and reach in. The first thing he pulled out was a pair of tickets for the last home game of his favorite college team, the one he was hoping to get into by the end of the year, University of Konoha. “Oh, wow! Thank you!”
He continued to fish around until he found the last object in the bag. It was a framed photo of both him and Sakura when they were both twelve and attending a science fair. Naruto had worn a huge lab coat and a pair of goggles -- a snorkeling mask to be exact -- while he stood next to Sakura with a heartfelt grin. It was one of Sakura’s favorite pictures of them and he had constantly bugged her for a copy of it.
“Wow,” his voice was soft now. “You didn’t have to…”
“Please! You’ve been bugging me for this picture for forever. Happy birthday, you goof,” she hugged him one last time. He reeked of alcohol and Sakura knew just how much of a baby he would be in the morning.
“Well then. Now that you’re here, we have to do a round of shots for greeting!”
“Wait, Naruto,” Ino stopped him. “Can we at least put our bags away so no one steals our shit?”
“Oh. Yeah! The door to the stairs is over there,” he pointed, “and it’s like a loft type apartment up there with a couple rooms. The one to the left will be yours.”
They made their way to their room quickly and put their items on the bed. It was spacious, Sakura noted. Kiba had it made here.
When they began to walk downstairs, Sakura felt nervous and sick to her stomach. The moment they arrived, she couldn’t help but think about what Sasuke had told her the last time she went to a party. He was an intimidating man, and when needed, he would get his point across one way or another.
“Jägerbombs for everyone!” The shout came from the boys’ bar setup.
Huddled around them was a huge crowd and by the time they arrived, a shot glass was handed to each of them. Sakura swirled the liquid around in the cup before nudging Ino’s arm.
“What’s in this?” She asked quietly.
Ino responded with a short laugh. “I forget you’re a total noob at parties still. When Naruto makes them, it’s Red Bull and Jägermeister. He makes them strong, just a heads up.”
When the time came, Sakura brought the glass to her lips and tilted her head back. It burned her throat as it glided down, but the taste was nice. She shook her head the second she brought her chin back down, and from beside her, Ino let out a holler.
“Happy birthday, Naruto!”
.
.
.
Sakura’s night went by in a flash. Drink after drink, she kept up with Ino as best as she could. By the time people started to go home, Sakura could hardly focus her line of sight on anything. She felt warm and fuzzy on the inside, while her skin felt absolutely numb to any sort of touch.
“Forehead,” Ino laughed. “Forehead, where’d Naruto go?” She stumbled over to Sakura and began to hang on her shoulder for support.
Just like her friend, Sakura could hardly stand, let alone someone trying to use her shoulder to balance on. Together, they tumbled to the floor and turned into a fit of laughter.
“Last I saw,” Sakura started, trying to remember exactly where she saw him last. “He was on the bar with Sai. I think that was his name.”
Ino nodded before lying back on the floor. Unlike Ino, though, Sakura began to get up. Her head was swirling now and she felt sicker than a dog. She hadn’t felt the alcohol hit her all that much, but now it was like she’d hit a wall and she could hardly control her own body.
“I’ll be back,” she told Ino before vanishing towards the bathroom.
She felt like she wanted to throw up, but she didn’t exactly need to. Sakura sat on the counter and waited for the light headed, nauseous feeling to return. She propped her head in her hand as she rested her elbow on her thigh, and the second she pulled her phone out of her pocket, she began to search through her contacts.
It was like she couldn’t control her body now, everything she did, did it on its own and as much as she willed herself to stop, it just kept going. Everything was becoming a blur to her now and when she couldn’t find the name she was searching for, she felt her mind plummet into disappointment.
“I saved it,” she told herself, but more so tried to convince herself that she did. “Sasuke should be in here.”
She swallowed hard now, her throat becoming dry the more she began to panic when she couldn’t find his name. Her thumb slid up the screen faster and when she finally crossed over a familiar looking word, she stopped.
“My secret,” she whispered before smiling. Sakura hadn’t realized it, but tears began to form in the wells of her eyes, and a single drop landed on her thigh -- the denim soaked it up.
Hi.
She sent it almost immediately. Instead of resting her head on her hand, she brought her phone to her chest and hugged it there while she leaned over into a comfortable position. Sakura no longer felt sick to her stomach or the need to vomit, no. Now, she felt impatient as she waited for the familiar vibrate to go off in her hands.
She waitedwaitedwaited, but nothing came back. The second she checked her phone, she hadn’t realized it was that late in the night. It was a quarter past two, and the longer she waited for him to reply to her, the more distressed she became.
Overthinking overcame her, and before she could stop herself, she had his contact name opened and her thumb tapped the little phone icon.
After the first ring, her smile faded. Soon came the second, and she felt her stomach tie itself in knots. By the time the third ring sounded in her ear, she was apprehensive and overwhelmed, and when she waited for the fourth ring, it never came.
Where are you.
His voice sounded groggy, like he had just woken up. It thrilled Sakura when she heard it, and as she smiled, she also felt her heart plummet into the pit of her stomach and tears began to stream down her cheeks. In a matter of seconds, she was quietly sobbing while Sasuke waited for her answer on the other side of the phone.
Sakura, his voice sounded again, but this time it was louder and concern filled. Where are you?
She couldn’t answer. She felt choked up and like her voice was lost now as she listened to him. It was comforting and soothed her aching heart.
It wasn’t fair, life isn't fair.
“I’m at a house on Main Street with my friends but I want to go home,” she finally worded into her phone. As hard as Sakura tried, she couldn’t keep her voice low. It took Sasuke a minute, but she could hear a ruffling sound on his end and a low sigh.
I’ll be there in a few. Stay inside.
“I can meet you somewhere,” she began to argue, but the words didn’t come out as fierce as she had liked. Tears continued to stroll down her cheeks the more she talked to him.
Stay inside.
She remained quiet for a couple moments longer before swallowing once more. Sakura wanted to talk, she wanted him to know why she had called, but the moment she started to talk again, he had hung up and she was left alone. Her eyes became puffy from the moisture, and when she turned to look at herself in the mirror, she was thankful she had worn waterproof makeup.
Her phone slipped back into her pocket and when she exited the bathroom, there was only minimal people standing around with a drink in hand. Ino was no longer on the floor, and the more Sakura looked for her, the more furious she grew.
“Have you seen my friend?” She finally asked, but when she explained what Ino had looked like, it was apparent to Sakura that she had left and gone somewhere with someone else. “Sai?” Yep. That was the one. She thanked the people for their help and walked off.
Sakura rolled her eyes before going upstairs to the room they were suppose to stay in. She grabbed her bag from the bed and pulled her jacket’s hood on over her head. With anger fueling her body now, she carefully made her way downstairs.
Everything was becoming blurry now, her body was getting harder to control the longer she went on, but the second she exited Kiba’s garage, a cold burst of air nearly knocked her on her ass. Sasuke had told her to wait, but she was growing anxious. Sakura wanted to see him more than anything.
The grass crunched under her boots as she pressed on down the side of the road. Her fingers pulled her jacket closer to her body the longer she walked, and after only minutes of walking, she had to stop. Between the swirling feeling in her head overpowering the sensation of lightheadedness, Sakura felt like she’d tumble over if she continued to walk.
When a set of headlights began to wash out over the horizon, Sakura turned her head slightly. She felt relieved the moment she saw Sasuke’s car pull up, but that feeling faded the second he got out of his car.
He was pissed. His eyebrows were firmly knitted together, his lips pressed in a firm line while his dark eyes watched her the entire time he made his way over to her. The closer he got to her, the more Sakura’s shoulders began to hunch up, but when he reached out for her, he slid her bag from her shoulder gently and placed it in the back seat of his car.
“I thought I told you to stay inside,” he spoke as calmly as he could.
Sakura didn’t answer. Her head dropped and she felt scalding tears begin to fall down her cheeks again, and before she could say a word, she threw her body against his and wrapped her arms around his torso.
He was incredibly warm, his chest rock hard and toned with muscle. She let her tears soak into his jacket, and if she had been sober, she would’ve noticed that his breathing stopped the moment she latched on to him.
“I want to go home,” she spoke into his chest.
When she felt his hand come to rest on the crown of her head, she completely melted. Everything about this man excited her, and now that she was in his arms, she didn’t want to leave. The numb feeling never vanished, but for some reason, Sasuke canceled that out with a simple touch of his hand to her shoulders.
When he brought his arms to hold her away from him, he began to search her eyes with his own.
“How much have you had to drink?”
“I don’t know,” Sakura snapped.
He didn’t answer, only frown before opening her door and wrapping his arm around her shoulders. He guided her to her seat, and when she came in contact with the heated leather, all the fight her body had to give was gone. Sakura was now over exhausted and when she glanced back up to Sasuke before he closed the door, he whispered more so to himself, than to her.
You have no idea what you do to me.
A/N: Again for Angie @thetourguidebarbie . This sucks I’m just warning you and on top of that it’s super long but I hope it’s at last readable. Part two to this. (Background Klaroline)
The difficulty with Jeremy is that he’s so fucking contrary. You tell him to go left he goes right. You tell him to head straight he goes right back the way he came. Tyler likes to think he’s reasonably perceptive, sure he’s no Sherlock Holmes but he can tell immediately that Jeremy doesn’t like him. After all, he’s a jock and pretty decent looking if he says so himself. He’s spent the majority of his life having people at the very least pretend to like him. Even guys on the team he was enemies with would plaster on a smile if If Tyler announced an after game party at the Lockwood mansion and cracked open a keg or two.
Jeremy is an entirely different kettle of fish. It’s very obvious that not just him but most of the art class were silently judging him and wondering what the hell he was doing there the moment he walked into the room and the guy who was apparently not their teacher Shane, barked at him to hurry up and find a seat. Even when everyone else had lost interest and had stopped gawking at him he could still feel Gilbert's eyes lingering on him. Burning into a patch of skin on the side of his neck and when he turned to look; sure enough, there Jeremy was, staring.
Jeremy’s soft, brown and watchful eyes are disconcerting, to say the least. He hates the suspicion Jeremy puts him under, especially when they start Mikaelson’s stupid project together. It’s like being in the 4th grade all over again, back before he started doing team sports. Back before he knew how to share or be remotely nice to anyone who wasn’t Matt and wouldn’t put up with his crap. Back when most people only knew him as the Mayor’s, spoilt, knuckleheaded son; whom they expected to be involved if something went wrong. That’s what Tyler felt. Jeremy’s lingering expectation every time they were in a room alone together. Like Tyler was going to drag him into a bathroom and give him a swirlie at any given moment.
Tyler knew full well that Jeremy had expected him not to even care about the project in the first place and leave him to do all the work. What Jeremy didn't know is that he could never even if he wanted to. Mikaelson would know for sure and between them, they had a sort of unspoken deal which Tyler both resented and was grateful for. See, he actually enjoyed art. He sacrificed a lot for it considering it’s a class he takes twice a week, with a teacher who he (and most people) hate; he's only marginally good at it and having to put up with whatever Jeremy’s problem is every time he gets anywhere near the guy.
But having his father more of less disown him because of his choice to do something other than play college football and goof around for the rest of his life or become a politician and well… goof around for the rest of his life; was about so much more than just a college degree. It was about being able to make his own choices and actually live the way he wanted instead of being around trapped under his father’s thumb. The good news was, that his parents had already liquidized his trust fund and any other bonds from relatives, stuffed in his pocket on his birthdays (instead of actual useful gifts that a child would use) and he also had his life savings. The bad new was not only did he have to live off of just that but he’d also have to pay off a massive wad of student debt one day since his father point blank refused to pay for him to study (in his own words) some ‘airy fairy subject, for pansies’.
Save for his lack of funds, it didn’t bother Tyler in the slightest that his dad hadn’t so much as called him to see if he was still alive since he’s left for Whitmore. What did sting, however, was that he hadn’t had a single conversation with his mother since October. A rushed phone call where Carol had been very obviously trying to keep her voice down (presumably so as not to wake his dad) while rushing through motherly small talk (“Are you eating?” “How is the food?” “Have they put you to stay somewhere decent?”) which was followed by a long pause and a tearfully whispered “I love you,” before his phone went dead. Even now he can’t be certain whether he dreamt it or not. In the end, he reasoned that couldn't be angry with his mother. He understood that it wasn't as easy for her to escape as it was for him.
Circumstances considered, he’d began rationing his meals and only eating and drinking the bare minimum in order to keep himself from passing out, so as to save money. It got so bad, that Tyler would only agree to attend parties just to get his fill of the mandatory snacks that were laid out at the host's house and almost always never eaten, only to be bypassed in favor of the alcohol sitting next to it. If Tyler was feeling really desperate he stuffs some of it in his pockets or his knapsack and live off the junk food he managed to collect for the rest of the week.
Because Whitmore was in the ass crack of nowhere and all the jobs on campus were taken, the only work he could find was at the only gas station for miles and it was a night shift. The days he didn’t have classes were fine. He slept in and his roommate Chris - whom Tyler was certain was some sort of angel sent from the gods - was quiet and possibly the least obnoxious person Tyler had ever met, plus he never asked Tyler his business. The days he had class, however, were a nightmare. He was almost always late and ended up falling asleep halfway during whatever Mikaelson (and occasionally Shane, if he bothered to come in) were saying. Of course, Mikaelson had noticed and would routinely threaten to kick him off the course.
For once in his life though, wasn’t as if Tyler didn’t care but since his fifty something boss at the gas station refused to give him earlier hours his hands were tied. In all fairness, he gave in his assignments (albeit late) and along with Jeremy and about two other students in the class, Mikaelson did not appear to completely hate what he produced.
That didn’t prevent the conversation that occurred about three weeks into the second term when Tyler woke up from his sleep to find the art room empty and Mikaelson hovering over him wearing less than amused expression. In his hands, he held up a piece of paper. In Tyler's lethargic state, he squinted up to read what it said but Mikaelson slammed it down on the table before he could get the chance.
“Dude,” Tyler complained shoving his fists against his eyes and rubbing the sleep away.
“Give me one good reason I shouldn’t kick you off of this course,” Mikaelson snapped in return, his glare steady and unwavering. “And make it convincing, ‘dude’”
Tyler blinked down at the letter on the table which read: ‘Request for student study termination’. He let out a long suffering sigh and regarded Mikaelson with an expression of defeat.
“If kicking me off is what you want to do then there’s nothing I can do to stop you,”
Mikaelson narrowed his eyes at him for as moment before pulling up a chair and sitting down in front of him.
“You enjoy taking this class,” He didn’t phrase it as a question.
“I guess,” Tyler nodded.
“I don’t make guesses Lockwood. I make educated assumptions based on talent and dedication. Surprisingly enough, you’ve got the talent and I suppose the fact that you’re even bothering to drag yourself here every week and snore and salivate all over the desk instead of in the comfort of your own dormitory, shows some form of dedication.”
Tyler just blinked at him and decided to ride it out just to see where Mikaelson was going with this.
“I’m giving you an extension on all assignments I give out, with the proviso that in your own time you complete any work I’ve set during class that you’ve slept through, are we clear?”
Tyler knows better than to ask why. Even if he’s dying to and simply nods his head and gets the hell out of here before Mikaelson’s coffee high wears off and he changes his mind. Sure it means he’ll have to sacrifice some of his precious sleeping time during the week but at least it’s something. The next day Mikaelson stuffs a finance form in his hands. Apparently, even though Whitmore doesn’t have a football team, they have a track team who are taking late applications for scholarships. Which means bye bye to crappy midnight shifts at the gas station.
Somehow he’s still tired like all the time but since he’s not working crazy hours and is actually having fun and making friends, it’s actually starting to feel like he has a life again. Tyler doesn’t feel that familiar sense of rage just bubbling under his skin like anymore - which may have had something to do with not seeing his father in two months - and it feels good.
He get’s kicked out of art class and his scholarship is revoked and he has to fly back to Virginia and grovel at his father’s feet just to move back in the house. He doesn’t have any plans for the future, he has no idea what he’s going to do with an art degree or where he’s going to live after college or do to pay off his debt (male stripping was starting to look appealing) but at least if he’s still in school he has time to figure it out.
Which is why he wasn’t going to let Jeremy and his I-was-alternative-and-edgy-before-it-was-cool attitude prevent him from achieving the only thing that Mikaelson requested of him in order to keep his life together. So he puts on his grown up hat and decides to be the bigger person in the equation (although in real life Jeremy’s got at least half a foot on him which bothers him to no end) and resolves not to allow himself to be irked by Jeremy’s sarcasm or snide comments or those little smirks that appear on his face when something inexplicable about Tyler amuses him for whatever reason and just get on with Mikaelson’s project in as little time as possible.
What he doesn’t expect is to actually enjoy himself. Tyler is downright disturbed actually when one night, randomly, Jeremy makes a joke about Mikaelson needing to attend a twelve step program for Henley addicts and he actually laughs. It isn’t the last time that evening or the entire stretch of the time they spend together for that matter. Tyler gets the feeling Jeremy is equally as disturbed by this as he is. What’s more, Jeremy's still irritatingly cautious. Tyler always has to start the conversation first so as to show Jeremy he’s not going to bite him and if Jeremy does it, he broaches the topics of conversation with caution, edging around Tyler from a distance like a hunter circling a wolf.
It’s only on the last night they have before the deadline does he actually feel like they’ve gotten somewhere.
“You know you don’t actually suck at this,” Jeremy remarks, pulling the lid of a glue stick absent mindedly.
“Suck at what?”
“Art,”
“No but you really suck at this,” Tyler retorts.
“What?”
“Compliments. Conversation. Should I go on Gilbert?”
Jeremy snorts out a laugh and they fall into a comfortable stretch of silence which is revolutionary considering a number of awkward pauses they have to endure during the beginning.
“You don’t actually have to call me that,” Jeremy speaks again.
“Gilbert?”
“Yeah, I have a name,”
“So do I,”
Nothing got on Tyler's nerves more than being referred to as ‘Lockwood’ save for during sports. Lockwood was an old plot of land on the border of Mystic Falls, Lockwood was the name of the town's Mayor and countless over pompous asshole relatives of his father he wanted nothing to do with. He was just Tyler and he liked it that way.
“I only call you Lockwood because you call be Gilbert,” Jeremy points out.
“Okay, fine Jeremy.” Tyler says rolling his eyes and glaring at him when another one of those smirks crosses over Jeremy’s face.
“You're impossible you know that?” he says.
Jeremy sighs and leans back against the wall because they’re working on the floor in Tyler’s dorm room.
“Well you only have to deal with me for a couple more hours, anyway,”
Tyler feels a pang in his chest he’s unable to explain when Jeremy says that.
Neither of them knows how to this day. But they end up working through the night. Just as they're about to call it a night they have a brief squabble about something and nothing; a minor detail that Jeremy’s convinced needs to be fixed and Tyler is pretty sure needs to be left alone. Then he has a brain wave about something when he goes to the bathroom and suddenly they’re revamping their entire project.
Because his body’s used to soaking up as much resting hours as possible it’s Jeremy who shakes him out the near coma he’s in, the next day and alerts him to that fact that they're not just late for Mikaelson’s class but it’s nearly over. Tyler feels his blood go cold and all he can think about is yelling or choking out Jeremy because this is so obviously his fault and why the hell couldn’t he just leave the stupid thing alone when he asked him to. But when he turns around and see’s Jeremy scurrying around for his shoes and his ridiculous hair that should have been cut weeks ago flopping in his face. All he sees is a kid just as scared shitless as he is.
Disturbing realization number two: not only is spending time with Jeremy not awful but he may actually like the guy.
So like the grown up that he’s turning out to be, Tyler calmly suggests that they both take a shower, separately - although in hindsight he’s unsure why he feels the need to stress that - and then go and kowtow as convincingly as they can to Mikaelson in hopes that he won't kill them both. In spite of the odds being heavily against them.
Their saving Grace is unexpected. She appeared in the form of a blonde and leggy English teacher. Professor Forbes. As they anticipated, the class is over by the time they manage to get upstairs to the loft. Jeremy starts murmuring that they’re dead and making self-deprecating jokes about the lack of people who’ll be present at his funeral. Meanwhile, Tyler is attempting to figure out a sob story that sounds anywhere near better than ‘Jeremy and I overslept, sorry’. He nearly screams at the sight of one of Professor Forbes’ trade mark cardigans he spies through the window, contrasting with the gray Mikaelson’s adorning that day.
“What are you staring at?” Jeremy hisses at him.
“We’re saved,” Tyler replies almost giddy with happiness as he watches what looks almost passes for a smile for on Mikaelson’s face as Professor Forbes gestured wildly with her hands as she spoke to him.
Jeremy craned his neck trying to see whatever it was Tyler did but eventually, he just sighed in exasperation and gave Tyler an expectant look, waiting for him to tell him.
Tyler let out a put upon sigh as if the explanation was obvious and gestured towards Forbes and Mikaelson through the window.
“Do you see that?” he asked. “That’s Professor Forbes,”
“Okay…” Jeremy said, still staring at Tyler as if he’d lost it.
“Mikaelson has a serious crush on her. He’s always in a better mood if he speaks to her before class.”
When Jeremy just stares at him he adds.
“C’mon man, this is common knowledge,”
Jeremy raises an eyebrow.
“I’m just shocked that a guy who manages to sleeps his way through every class has the time to monitor Mikaelson’s love life.”
He’s about to say something back when the door to the classroom opens and Professor Forbes walks out with Mikaelson in tow. Mikaelson spots them over her shoulder while she’s talking. The look he gives them is strong enough to turn them into stone. Professor Forbes must have noticed Mikaelson’s lack of attention because she turns around to see them both staring at the ground, looking pathetic, fruitlessly attempting to garner sympathy from Mikaelson who’s practically seething.
Tyler hears Forbes whisper something to him. But he only makes out the words “I have to go,” and “Be nice,” somewhere in there before Professor Forbes struts past them down the hall.
Mikaelson sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose a conflicted coloring his features. It’s really obvious that he wants to yell at them.
Jeremy opens his mouth to utter whatever cock and bull excuse he’s managed to conjure up while they were standing there. But Mikaelson just lets out a noise that can only be described as something inhuman like a growl and holds out his hand.
“Hand it over,” he bites out. Jeremy pulls the project folder out of his satchel and timidly gives it to him. Mikaelson snatches it and gives them a look which pretty much makes up for any screaming or profanity they were spared from. They take that as a sign and take off down the hall.
Suddenly, just like that, it’s awkward again. They continue down the hall for several minutes before either of them speaks. It’s not as if either of them has anywhere to be. Tyler’s completed any and all class notes from last lesson and Mikaelson was merciful enough not to set anything else along with the project so it stands to reason that he and Jeremy should just go their separate ways. They were never really friends in the first place, right?
However, just as Tyler is about to excuse himself Jeremy surprises him.
“I need coffee,” he states, coming to an abrupt standstill just outside of the library. “Feel like getting one with me?”
When Tyler looks uncertain he adds jokingly.
“We can debate about how many diary entries a day Mikaelson fills with sad poetry about Professor Forbes.”
There’s no logical explanation behind it. But he agrees.
About a month later his dad actually visits him under the guise of giving Tyler’s life choices a chance and being supportive when actually it turns out his only purpose for visiting was to lecture him on what a failure he is and give Tyler the chance to change his mind and transfer to Ohio State to do what he wants. He tells his dad where he can shove it and it feels great at first but then super terrifying but the good thing is that he’s not alone during all of it.
A year later he fractures his ankle and he’s hysterical that he’s going to lose his track scholarship. But someone visits him in the hospital every afternoon and brings him snacks and teases him for being such a freaking baby over a minor injury. He heals eventually but most importantly he doesn’t go through it alone.
Five years later he’s broke and living in the city. He’s a barista and still has absolutely no idea what he wants to do with his life; his roommate's a slob who eats all his cereal and leaves his art supplies everywhere and still calls him Lockwood just to piss him off. But all of that’s okay because he’s not alone. And oddly enough; he’s happy.
PD101 S2 Imagine: Daniel Kang
Genre // Fluff // Romance
Plot // Visiting your boyfriend on the set of PD101
Y/N // Age: 19
Note (for myself): Daniel is from MMO with the other boys (Yoon Jisung, Choi Taewoong, Kim Jaehan and Joo Jinwoo) He also has a soft spot for Lee Woojin
 Narrator POV
It became a habit to check your phone every morning, reading the sweet texts from your boyfriend, Daniel. Sometimes, he’d throw in a joke or two. You always reply with a kissy, heart, or laughing emoji. Today was special, though. You were going to visit Daniel on the set of PD101. Your cousin also happens to be a stylist for the boys, so you’ll be meeting her there.
Y/N POV
The cab driver smiles politely as I close the door and start walking toward the set. When I spot my cousin, I wave and she grins while running over to me, engulfing me in a hug.
“Hey Y/N! Daniel’s over there~” She croons while pointing.
“I see, I see,” I laugh while looking over at him. He’s smiling while messing around with Jisung, the two of them laughing. “Are they going to start filming soon?”
“They already filmed a little, but they’re taking a break right now.”
“Oh, okay.”
“Go say ‘hi’~”
“Ah, but I don’t want to bother-”
“Daniel!”
All of a sudden, Daniel and his friends are looking back at me. Daniel’s eyes widen as I grin and playfully punch my cousin’s arm. She giggles and runs off as Daniel seems to be taking in the fact that I’m here. I wave as he keeps staring, still amazed.
“Yah, Kang Daniel, if all you’re gonna do is stare at me, I’m going to leave,” I say while walking towards them.
“HI Y/N!!!” Taewoong greets while waving excitedly. Jisung and Jaehan wave super obnoxiously with goofy grins while Jinwoo smiles as a greeting.
“At least Taewoong and the others are happy to see me.”
I hold my arms out for Daniel as he gets out of the chair he was seated in. He embraces me and I smile while embracing him back. I feel his lips press on the top of my head.
“I missed you so much, Y/N,” he whispers.
“I missed you too,” I tell him while pulling back to look at him.
He smiles brightly and I smile, too. His smile always has a way with my heart. I caress his cheek and ask if he’s okay. He nods and I hear a few snickers behind Daniel. I glance at the guys and Taewoong just smiles innocently while the others are teasing us.
“Please kiss somewhere else,” Jaehan says, laughing not long after.
“Aish, do you guys want to die?” I say while glaring at them.
They all mock being afraid and Daniel slips an arm around my waist while kissing my temple. “Don’t mind them.”
“When are you guys going to start filming again?” I ask him.
He frowns. “In less than 20 minutes, but I want to be with you for the rest of the day. I’m thinking about just leaving with you right now.”
“What? No, you have to stay here and film babe. Don’t worry, I’ll be okay.”
“Are you sure? We haven’t been on a date in a while... And I want to spend time with you.”
I sigh and look around. The staff roamed around, talking to the other PD101 boys. I finally look at Daniel and sigh.
“I want to spend more time with you too, but you can’t leave. This is important. I can wait. I’ll always be here for you.”
Daniel frowns and takes my hands, gently rubbing circles on top of them while biting his lip in thought. He sways our hands a bit and I try to catch his eye. He finally looks up at me.
“Fine... If it makes you happy,” he tells me.
“It does. I don’t want to ruin your dreams of becoming an idol, Daniel.”
 “You won’t ruin anything okay? My dream of being an idol is important, but even bigger than that is living my life with you.”
Daniel pecks my lips and smiles. I feel my face heat up instantly and I shyly smile. He chuckles and pulls me in for a hug again.
“I’ll just hang out on the set and watch you have fun with the guys,” I tell him. “Enjoy yourself, babe.”
Daniel sighs as someone calls out for him to get onto the set. “I love you, Y/N.”
“I love you too.”
We hug again and he hurries off towards the staff, who are also prepping the other boys. I notice a few guys walking towards me.
“You’re Daniel hyung’s girlfriend?” One of them asks. Oh, I know who this guy is. Samuel Kim, the kid that used to be with SEVENTEEN.
I nod in response, and then the one in the middle suddenly introduces himself.
“I’m Lee Daehwi. Daniel talks about you all the time.”
Daehwi... The kid who looks like Chenle and Taeil. His statement makes me blush and I ask them what he says about me.
“Only good things,” the last boy replies.
“And you are... Lee Woojin, right?”
The boy nods cutely, and I giggle. “Well, you guys should get going. Filming is going to start soon.”
“We will, we just wanted to meet you~” Woojin says cutely, making me smile even more.
“Your name is Y/N, right?” Samuel asks.
“Yeah it is. I’ll be here after to hang out, so I’ll see you guys later.”
“Bye Y/N~~” Daehwi and Woojin call out while going towards the set and waving.
I laugh and wave back, looking for Daniel. I spot him talking to Jisung, who is being a meme, as usual. When they start filming, my cousin strides up beside me and smiles.
“So, how was it?” She asks, glancing at her phone.
“Good, but then he got a bit upset because he wanted to spend time with me,” I reply. “I told him I’d always be here and that he would never lose me.”
“Aigoo, you two are so cheesy.”
“Oh my lord, please, you’re into that kind of stuff like in those k-dramas.”
“Why do you always have to expose me?”
“Why else would I be your cousin?”
She rolls her eyes and focuses on the boys. For a moment, she’s completely silent, but then she’s smacking my arm.
“What the hell are you doing?” I whisper so no one around us pays any attention.
“Daniel. Daniel. Look.”
I look up and spot Daniel smiling at me, and suddenly, the director and producers are calling out ‘cut’.
“Daniel, are you okay?” Somebody within the staff asks.
“I’m fine...” He replies.
“No goofing off right now.”
“Yes sir...”
Daniel gives me a quick glance before they start filming again.
“Nice job,” I tell my cousin, jabbing her in the ribs.
“Y/N, I was just pointing him out for you because you seemed focused on somebody else.”
“Mhm.”
“Let me see your phone.”
I hand her my phone and a couple of people from the staff look at us. I politely smile and they just turn back towards the set. So much for being polite.
“I knew it.”
I turn to my cousin, who mocks surprise on her face.
“You like Park Woojin, Bae Jinyoung, Kenta, Justin, and Ong Seongwoo?”
I feel my face flush and snatch my phone back. “Don’t tell Daniel.”
“So much for a lasting relationship.”
“Oh shush.”
For two hours, they filmed bits and pieces for the next episode. During those 10 minutes the boys got for a break, I only saw Daniel once out of those five breaks. He hugged me and we talked for a few minutes before several stylists whisked him away. I even saw the other MMO boys more than him.
“Don’t worry,” Jaehan told me during their last break. “We’re done in half an hour. We get to go where we want to for tonight, but we have to return to our dorms by tomorrow morning.You and Daniel can go out on a date then.”
“Thanks Jaehan,” I said, smiling a bit.
Although I wasn’t able to see Daniel much, I’m happy with the comfort from my cousin and the other boys.
Finally, filming was over. The boys dispersed, leaving me searching for Daniel. I spotted Taewoong and said hi. I accidentally run into somebody, and out of all people, it’s Ong Seongwoo. I quickly apologize, and he tells me its fine.
“Are you looking for Daniel?” He asked me.
“I froze and for a moment, just stood there. Then, I nodded. Seongwoo points towards the back of the building, where the waiting rooms were. I quickly hurry over there and check in each waiting room. When I pop my head into one, I spot his head of newly dyed hair. He looks up at me and gets out of his chair.
I take a step and he’s already scooping me up into his arms.
“Let’s go,” he whispers, leaving a kiss on my cheek.
“Where do you want to go?“ I ask him, burying my face into his chest.
“Let’s go to your place... I miss cuddling with you.”
And so, the night led to cuddling on the couch, watching reruns of Hello Baby, Running Man, and Hello Counselor. Later on, Daniel had set his alarm for early in the morning so he could get back to his dorm. During an episode of Weekly Idol, he fallen asleep, and I let his head lay on my chest as I played with his hair. Before I let my eyes close, I turned the TV off, kissed his head, and whispered, “I love you, Kang Daniel.”
I let my head rest against the couch and just before I fall asleep, I heard him speak softly while taking one of my hands.
“I love you too, Y/N”
A/N: @sparklingpurifying GAHHHHH I’M SO SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG!!! T^T But I hope you enjoyed it because I have slowly fallen for him :) This is a special PD101 request (even though I am an SF9 acc.). I may be writing one for another PD101 member for my best friend :)
all three of the aformentioned dorks are equally responsible for the hijinks found in this post.
point-of-exile, CO
modern day, 20[fuck]
bill donovan is the principal of the only high school around for miles
he's a dick
like a full on dick
seniors: june, helen, anthony, sally
juniors: penny, esther, quentin, jack, bridget
important relationships/friendships: june/helen, helen/anthony, june/quentin, esther/bridget, jack/penny, sally & anthony, esther & jack, sally & esther
june and helen are dating each other as well as their boyfriends, they and quentin and anthony have a poly arrangement that they're all really happy with
also, sally and anthony are really Not dating, but also they're not exactly Not Dating, either. mostly, they're best friends.
everyone at school is slightly bemused by the gang because so many of them are dating each other (in both assorted pairs AND poly chains) and those that aren't are often so close that it's hard to tell anyway
theatre kids: why the fuck is the science department queerer than we are
height order from shortest to tallest: esther, sally, jack, bridget, penny, quentin, helen, anthony, june
sally skipped a grade and is the same age as the juniors
esther and bridget are out to everyone in the science kid gang and esther’s sort of out at school
sally's completely out to the gang and most of school by senior year. she’s ace as hell and definitely some kind of aromantic
sally had a really awkward coming out that probably involved terrible puns
june and quentin are both bi and out (june is out to everyone except her parents)
quentin is a demiguy and mostly goes by he/him but sometimes uses they and ze
jack is trans
helen is trans (and loosely bi, if she had to pick a label for that aspect of her identity)
anthony’s pan
penny is demiromantic and demisexual
helen and june are the mom and dad friends
bridget actually calls them mom and dad
the three of them go get sandwiches at the coffee shop where penny works
and the four of them have a “our dates are nerds and we’re suffering” bond
they call themselves “the girlfriend gang”
everyone agrees the following is true:
helen: god
june: the devil
bridget: an angel
penny: a demigod
helen for student body president
anthony works part time at the post office. he gets very bored. sometimes the gang goes to bother him and he makes faces at them through the slots when they open the mailboxes
june works in retail, even though her parents are kind of rich. they wanted her to get the life experience. if you’ve ever worked retail you understand why she’s always angry
bridget volunteers at the library
she’s friends with all of the old lady librarians
they give her advice when she wants to plan cute dates with esther
and they all share book recommendations
and geek out while they shelve
sally works at the ice cream shop
always gets in trouble for trying to identify the flavor formulas
gives everyone discounts
most likely to get in trouble for her hair being uncontainable
lots more under the readmore!
fitness pacer test
esther gets out of it by faking an injury
bridget does the minimum +2 laps bc she's extra
june and quentin KICK ASS bc theyre on track and go running together
sally is sprawled across the finish line
anthony cuts in line for chicken nuggets
it's like the vine, he's like
so i’m sitting there
bbq sauce on my tiddies
sally’s on the floor, dying laughing
sally wears a onesie on pj day
senior prank, somehow engineered to mess with JUST THE JUNIORS
petra does backflips at pep rallies
quentin actually pays attention in class
bridget talks A LOT in english (to the point where she’s now trying not to talk for fear of taking over the conversation) and a little in history and that’s it
esther participates a lot in almost every class but she’s frankly frightening in the sciences
jack has trouble staying focused but he’s doing his best, usually he’s okay if he brings something to fidget with
anthony is A GOOF
however, he does get suspended
for cleaning principal donovan's clock if you catch my drift
he punched him. i mean he punched him.
in the throat.
he's grounded too and everyone can't write or text or communicate with him, so they refer to this period as his time in The Punishment Cube
sally finds a way to chat tho
because she's sally
donovan quits after this.
he cannot fucking handle these weirdos.
bye bitch
sally’s only talkative in her special interest classes, otherwise she’s pretty quiet
ESTHER AND JACK BEING OBNOXIOUS IN SCIENCE CLASSES TOGETHER
they squabble constantly
the teachers spend a whole month figuring out how to make sure they don’t have classes together (oh, god, not Them)
but esther’s in the wrong math, has to get her schedule changed, ends up in ap physics 2 with jack
magic SCHOOL BUS
the gang meets up every now and then for magic school bus marathons
with breaks for watching cosmos or bill nye
anthony tried to play the theme on the tuba once
it went very badly
cards club
esther’s the president
jack’s the only other member
they meet once a week and just play dilemma together
if you get jack and esther to work together it’s fucking eerie
they don’t need to ask each other for stuff they just know what the other one needs
the only thing more terrifying than the two of them going after each other is the two of them going after someone else
maggie the mouse girl let all of the lab rats out
somehow helen is in band, orchestra, and choir
she plays clarinet and string bass mostly, but it doesn’t take her long to pick up something new
one year they all did their arts cred at the same time
bridget on bassoon, and she’s damn good
sally was in percussion and had way too much fun with the cymbals
anthony should have been in percussion but he played TUBA
quentin did cello
june and esther play viola, they have an ongoing rivalry for the first chair (esther’s losing!)
carmen is absolutely the principal first violin and she’s a freshman and everyone is just resigned to the fact that she’s better than all of them
sally and anthony share an “i went to smart kid camp” shirt
it’s huge on sally, who is a twig. she wears it cinched with a hair tie
it’s slutty tight on anthony
