Volume 1: The Arrival
The Flight
If you’re reading this, you probably already know me and my situation. I’m Elaine and I’m studying abroad in Seoul, South Korea for the next four weeks. It’s strange to think that a whole study abroad trip can even fit into one month, but regardless I’m excited to see what Seoul has for me.
This past week before takeoff felt too short as I continuously told my mom that I wanted more time to mentally prepare for the journey. I also procrastinated on packing a little bit in favor of one last hoorah with my closest friends. I know that I’m acting like I’ll be gone a long time, but a month in a country I’ve never been to IS a long time to me.
I was full of nerves the morning of – I woke up earlier than I had to and didn’t speak on the car ride to the airport. I’ve been on plane trips many times before, but I always get anxious and have to run through the steps. This time was a little more stressful because it was my first time flying internationally alone. I made it on with plenty of time to spare so that was good. There was one thing that dampened my spirits a bit throughout the day though. There was a girl from my school’s program that was supposed to land at the same time as me. We were going to explore the airport and split a hotel room together. It was just my luck when she told me she missed her flight, booked another flight that was due to land the next morning, missed the second flight to Incheon after a connecting flight was delayed or something, and was due to land around 5 pm the next day. It made me nervous thinking about finding things on my own, but I had to move on.
The plane’s “amenities” if you will were nothing like I’ve seen before. They had given us each a cheap pillow and blanket as they do on any international flight, but we also received cheap headphones, a full-sized water bottle (not those mini baby ones other planes have – a full one), and foldable hotel slippers to wear. Each chair had a screen to watch movies on and there was even a remote control for the screen. One push of a button and the whole thing came out. They had an area to plug in a charger and they even had a little knob to hang clothes on. It was crazy.
Interesting chair set up + views from the window shortly after take-off
The part I was most excited for was the meals. I’ve seen and heard from social media that planes to Korea had ACTUAL food that also looked good. My past experiences with United Airlines’ food weren’t even up for comparison. My mom would gobble that stuff up every time (I don’t know how), but my brother and I would rather starve than touch it. Anyways, let me just tell you I was not disappointed. When it was time for the first meal, I was elated that bibimbap was even an option. Of course, I had to get that over some ordinary teriyaki chicken. I was pleasantly surprised with the presentation of it all too. I was expecting some hastily thrown together bowl with nothing else, but I also haven’t had plane food in a good couple of years, so I forgot the meals usually came with sides. It even came with Korean Airline branded gochujang tubes and sesame oil packets which was insane. I ate it all.
Meal 1: bibimbap, miso soup, “spicy” pickles, oranges, Sprite
The next meal came in the middle of “sleep time” where all the lights were off for a few hours.
For the first two meals I kept thinking to myself, “How do they know exactly when I’m hungry?” Because both times I’ve been hungry, and they've almost answered my call. However, as the third time came around, I felt a lot fuller than I wanted to be. I still tried to eat it, albeit a little forcefully, but I knew I would have regretted it later if I didn’t. Plus, I wanted to get through the main dish to eat the carrot cake. Unfortunately, by the time I reached the cake, I was no longer in the mood with my tummy full and all. It was a sad moment because if you know me, you know that I have a sweet tooth.
Meal 3: beef with rice + veg, bread roll, caprese salad, carrot cake. Meal 2 not pictured but consisted of a ham and cheese hot pocket and a mini ham, cheese, lettuce sandwich
As for the plane ride itself, it was not that bad and was more tolerable than my usual five-hour flights to Michigan. Maybe it was because we got food and I slept better with the window seat (I usually sit in the aisle). I did kind of feel bad for the people who sat next to me as I unfortunately had to get up three times. My Korean friend told me not to sleep on the flight because of the time difference when I land or whatever, but I didn’t know what else to do on a 12 hour flight.
Views from window shortly before landing
The airport was a lot more straightforward than I imagined. I was worried I would get lost, but now I realize English signs and directions are a must since it’s literally an airport with tons of foreigners. At this point, everything kind of caught up to me and I just wanted to crash at my hotel. Everything was fine and dandy except there was no toilet in my actual room which meant I had to share with everyone else and my shower wouldn’t work. Maybe it did work and I just didn’t know how to use it because it took me a while to orient myself in the shared bathroom where there was no light switch and I had to press buttons to open the door. I ended up hitting the hay around 9 pm and woke every few hours until I left shortly before 8 am.
Views from above baggage claim and an inside look at my room at the Darakhyu capsule hotel in Incheon airport.
I booked a bus ride for the morning and luckily another girl from STAMPS was able to join me after taking a shuttle from her hotel. She brought two of her friends who were also going to be participating in a program at Yonsei University, the school right across the street from us. The guy who took our tickets was kind of scary as he yelled at us in Korean, asking where we were going. One thing I noticed since the plane ride was that the people here just assume I can speak Korean. It’s probably because I’m clearly Asian, but the flight attendants, customs people, hotel front desk, and café cashiers so far have approached me with Korean. It was kind of funny because the flight attendants would speak perfect English to the obvious white people and then ask me stuff in Korean. Anyways, the bus layout was pretty cool and different – super spacious. M Bus could never.
Bus interior. Fun fact: these two girls got off the same stop as us and were also attending Ewha for the summer
It was quite the journey to get settled (imagine carrying 2 backpacks and 3 suitcases up/down hill-y streets and stairs while battling the raging hot sun). We managed though. My room was nice too and I had it all to myself. I raised my brow at the showerhead, sink, and toilet all being in the same room, but it actually wasn’t too hard after taking one. Each room has a mini fridge and AC which definitely beats life at Bursley (dorm at UM that has no AC and all sorts of problems) last summer.
Extra pillow, pillowcase, sheet, and blanket not pictured. Each room has a balcony
The girl I arrived with, Alyssa, has a roommate (I didn’t hear her name that clearly, but it sounded like ‘Zeda’ so I’m just going to refer to her as that until it’s further clarified), and the roommate’s friend Deborah from their school in Massachusetts when out for lunch and a walk through the nearby streets. I was not expecting Zeda to whip out full on Korean when we struggled to order. Apparently, she took 4 semesters of Korean, and she could speak and read it decently. Deborah also knew quite a few words and could read it as well. Anyways the food was really good and pretty cheap – as well as a lot of things here. I literally bought 12 rolls of toilet paper for 5000 won which converts to less than 4 USD. So good news: I can buy gifts for people without too much caution because everything is so much cheaper here.
Soup dumplings, jajangmyeon, and these spicy seafood noodles
Long story short: the food was good, and we were all happy. We did some more walking and went shopping for dorm essentials at Daiso. Since arriving, I have seen an insane number of Daiso stores in Seoul which is kind of mind-boggling. There’s even one in the subway station near the school I’m staying at.
Despite the temperature being a whopping 93 degrees, we decided to take a little tour around the school. I quite like the simplicity of the campus – the buildings all look pretty much the same and it feels like a little town. The buildings remind me of the Ross (business school) buildings at UM. They’re all a light gray with stones/bricks, and the lush, green vegetation really makes the scene pop. It’s so fresh looking unlike in California where we have droughts and “brown is the new green”.
Views from the frontish part of the school
We didn’t make it far because of how physically taxing the walk was. Between the heat, humidity, and the fact that the school is built on hills of uneven roads, we were beat. We ended the journey with the very first building built at Ewha.
First building ever built at Ewha
To cool off, we visited our first café. I’ve decided to start a collection of those cup sleeves because they’re cute here.
Peach iced tea!
We all went back to our rooms to reset, but a few hours later, Alyssa and I were ready to roam the streets again. We ate at a fast-food place called Lotteria. Think of any place that sells typical burgers and fries, but times twenty. The food took a little longer than expected to come out, but we were joking how that’s how you knew they actually cook their food. Anyways, we were so surprised with the menu because of all the different options that American fast-food places never offered.
I got this mozzarella bacon burger which was absolutely insane because they literally fried like a puck of mozzarella and shoved it inside. Definitely not healthy, but really good.
The mozzarella puck is bigger than the patty. Also, the ice cream was super good too
To end the first night, we went into several cute shops with all sorts of accessories and items. I didn’t get anything, but I’ll definitely be back before the end of the program

The First Day…Kind Of
The next morning, Alyssa, Zeda, and I went for a brisk walk to find breakfast of some sort before the Welcoming Ceremony. They were going to provide lunch, so we didn’t end up getting anything.
Quick street view
At the main gate, there’s this building structure called the ECC. In comparison to UM, think Pierpont/The Union. There are two sides made up of multiple floors. Within the building, there are food stores, a convenience store, a bank, coffee shops/cafes, a gift shop (Ewha’s version of MDen), classrooms, the office for international students, and areas for study. The path is dug out so that the greenery lays on ground level. It’s kind of hard to explain and imagine because you can access different parts of the building because it’s all built on uneven land.
Front and back of ECC
There were a lot of students at the welcoming ceremony – so many that they didn’t have enough chairs for them at first. We were given folders of information and even got a free pen and T-shirt (for field trip wear).
Welcoming Ceremony
The free lunch given was a free coupon for the cafeteria. I was pleasantly surprised with how good the food was and helped myself.
Purple rice, green onion hot spicy meat stew, cubed radish kimchi, meatballs with onions, cucumbers, apple + pineapple fruit salad, yogurt drink, seaweed, and a lemon tea drink
I ended up making my first purchase at the school’s convenience store for dinner where I got some munchies.
Kimbap and banana milk
There were a lot of options, and I was eyeing the bagged drink section. I have seen too many TikToks showing people in Korean convenience stores grabbing a pre-filled cup of ice and then a drink of their choice, and basically creating their own concoction.
Drinks galore
This is the end of the first volume. Stay tuned for my first full week in Seoul.
Spoiler: there were a lot of ups and downs.

-Camelot: Very appropriate reference to the Arthur/Guinevere/Lancelot dynamic. Lancelot is even French. I like it a lot.
-Unfortunately my first association with Queen of Hearts is "Off with [their] head!" which sucks because it is fairly appropriate, if not as uniquely punny or referential as other ship names. It also feels like something that's easily mixed up with a similar ship's name (such as, simply, Hearts, which has two of the same people.)
Suit Change might be an option, referring to games like Crazy Eights where players must match either a card's suit or its face value on their turn. KoH->QoH->QoS would be a valid series of plays in Crazy Eights; following the same suit and changing value, and then changing suit and keeping the same value.
-Face Cards: Snappy, matches the card theme, tells you the number of people, can't reasonably refer to anyone but those three. A very good ship name.
-King's Knight is very clear whom it's referring to and also alliterates, making it very fun to say, and Bachelor's Hand is both an appropriate poker term and can be interpreted as a play on "Confirmed Bachelor" (appropriate, since this is a gay ship.)
-I love Queen's Quarters, it's alliterative, it has the right association for the characters, it's fun to say.
America the Beautiful feels a little arbitrary as the secondary ship name because the song only features in the dub;
I'd recommend Team Huddle as the alternative because the football terminology matches Maxter's appearance (who they're all tied to) and also emphasizes the gals' contributions to Maxter's performance in the Gundam Fight (implicates Chibodee as the quarterback who gets all the hoorahs but can't operate without the rest of the team).
-Love Song serves its purpose, but doesn't feel like it matches the ship specifically, in that it's a very common romantic gesture that could conceivably apply to a lot of ships in other fandoms. I'd potentially pitch American Idol as a less general alternative, but it sounds silly. Medical Tourism is another possibility, since the same moment is Chibodee getting help from a doctor from another country, but it feels a little bit mean, even by my standards.
-I'd like to pitch Temperate Hurricane for George/Rain. It's not great, but it does reference both members (being one of George's moves and a hurricane typically being accompanied by rain), their personalities (both are reasonably level-headed), and pokes fun a little bit at George's special move being named after a weather pattern that doesn't naturally occur where he's from (depending on the exact combination of ways the Earth in G gundam is fucked up though, Europe might be getting unnatural hurricanes...)
-Freezing Rain is again not the best I've seen from you but it's definitely serviceable for the pairing; I feel like Nastasha is the type who would be amenable to engaging in some temperature play, and the name brings to mind a very funny (and sexy) mental image of Nastasha locking her naked partner outside for a carefully calculated amount of time, and then letting her in to warm up with sex. Freezing Rain indeed.
-I've already stated my thoughts on Black Mirror, Be Right Back, and Mirror Mirror; they're fun, and also I think Kyoji/Schwarz deserve three ship names because I like them better than everyone else (personal bias).
-I'd propose Disorderly Conduct or Lifeguards for the Neo America Gals polycule because the former refers to their origin story and tactics in Guyana, while the latter ties into Maxter's sports theme and (I feel) lends some dignity to the team swimsuits & puts said outfits more on the level of respect Chibodee says he has for the gals in their debut episode (that they're the only support he needs and he trusts them with his well-being).
-I might propose Foodie's Dream for Sai/Allenby because let's face it, that would probably be the reason why she'd initially spend a lot of time with him. Allenby is frequently seen with a bag of enough street food for multiple people, Sai loves to cook, you just *know* that if they get together they're going to start a food blog where they rate/try to improve on improve on restaurant food.
-My best proposal for Sai/Marie Louise is another musical reference, and one that only kind of fits if you interpret it as kind of a gender/role/perspective swap. "The Ace and I" would still be about a royal and a non-noble from a different continent falling in love, but very different as far as who the royal is, and whose perspective the title implies.
So once upon a time @cyanide-latte and I came up with a non-exhaustive list of ship names for G Gundam. It's a hurricane of puns. I should be more sorry.
Domon x Rain --> Hearts
Domon x Allenby --> Two Of A Kind
Domon x Chibodee --> Royal Flush
Chibodee x George --> Pinochle (or, Politically Offensive, if you prefer)
George x Marie-Louise --> French Vanilla
Sai x Cecile --> Aces High
Argo x Nastasha --> Jokers Wild (or Bomb And Bondage, if you prefer)
Argo x Andrew --> Blind Destiny
Rain x Saette --> Rainfall
Rain x Kyoji/Schwarz --> Operating Circuits
Rain x Allenby --> Nobel Doctor [for a romantic ship] ; Rising Arrow [for their platonic brOTP ship name]
Prime Minister Wong x Master Asia --> Trump Card [or] Checkmate
Prime Minister Wong x Major Ulube Ishikawa --> Fashionably Evil
Shuffle Alliance polyship --> Full House

A dam of tears
Back in March, when I first received Jedidiah's 9/10 chance of having down syndrome, the tears flowed for many days. The shock, the fear of the unknown, the potential health issues and so many other emotions overtook me and I could not put a break on the tears no matter how I tried. Then, slowly, the tears calmed and so did my nerves. Despite going to tons of high risk doctor visits in the midst of COVID without my husband, I began to have relatively uneventful appointments. I started to trust that things were in the hands of the Lord.
Fast forward the clock five months to THIS very day. I went to what I thought would be my last growth scan with a full face of make-up, hair done and a spring in my step. I really felt like this would be the last, BIG hoorah before Jedidiah's grand, scheduled entrance next week. The appointment was BIG, indeed, but not the celebration in which I'd hoped and prayed.
Instead, the doctor told me that Jed had slipped from the 40th percentile for weight down to below the 10th. At 38 weeks gestation, my sweet boy is looking to be around four pounds, five ounces. I listened to the doctor explain to me that the heart rate was good, the oxygen levels seemed right and the fluid levels were where they need to be. BUT, his cord flow is elevated (with some explanation I couldn't understand) and they want to keep on eye on him to possibly bump the delivery up to early next week. He does not appear to be thriving.
I listened intently, practically holding my breath as BOTH of my doctors explained the facts in two different appointments. I did not want to miss a word they said and I asked a lot of questions. I held it together, I remained cool, calm and collected and I kept the tears at bay in the office, down the elevator and all the way out to the parking lot. Then came the moment when I shut my car door...
A dam of tears.
I couldn't stop them. They came like floods. I shook so hard I could feel my car moving. I screamed at God, "WHY IS THIS HAPPENING??? Have I been eating all the wrong things? Did I make the wrong choice to have a baby so late in life? Am I setting my poor baby up for failure to thrive in every aspect of his upcoming life? Will he have a life? WHY, GOD? Why me? Why HIM?? Why does my precious Jed have to have so many complications before he has even seen the light of day? It's not fair!"
Everything I have held together for months, every nightmare I've had in the dead of night and every bad thought that has run through my mind, came colliding together like a bad car crash. Aside from the moment I heard about Jedidiah's high risk for down syndrome, I have never felt more broken or powerless.
The dam of tears has continued throughout the day. That painful headache that comes from crunching your forehead together is persisting and tylenol has not relieved it. I'm tired and weary. I want to say something really inspiring and light to lift the heaviness of this post. But my heart and my flesh fail me in this moment. It's a good thing I have the word of God to turn to in times like these.
Psalm 34:18-19 says, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all."
AMEN.

Haunted Cathouse in Moscow, December 2019
Hoorah, the “most rock’n’roll Burlesque party” in the land made its way to Moscow, uniting Haunted Cathouse belles with Sugar Factory debutants.
Read before blocking, darling! ~The Eternal Manifesto~ It is hereby declared that this little nook of the world wide web shall be devoted to the praise & critique of the art of burlesque, specifically in Russia.
Let it also be known that I am first and foremost a benevolent force, and every single criticism is documented solely for the purpose of evolution, growth and inspiration, darling.
Never forget - it is fantastic that the burlesque scene in Russia has grown so much in the last few years. Brava, ladies! As a fact and a statement, it is absolutely fabulous.
However, I volunteer to wear the heavy crown of expertise, having seen many a show in many a place, and having a keen eye for detail and a heart hungry for that wow factor.
I always come with an open heart, am quite easily entertained, and know how hard the craft is - I can overlook many a fault when there’s stage presence, charisma and that fire of passion.
Oh, and self-irony.All is sickly without self-irony.
Now, onwards! To fabulousness!
Short summary: I do it because I love you all and want you to excel. The Venue
Set in a deeply industrial part of the city, this craft beer pub called FRAKCIA didn’t scream “burlesque”, but it did aid with the rock’n’roll.
People were encouraged to come in full fabulous costumes, but most of the crowd had to sit on the floor. But again, the spirit was fun and no one came over-dressed, so the party vibes were uninterrupted.
Rocky Zombie’s hosting was lovely - she made everyone feel at home. Friendly, funny, fierce! She has a beautiful talent of balancing self-irony and confidence that makes her instantly likeable as a host.
Jeva Noir dancing to Би-2 is a combination I didn’t know I needed. Would be fantastic to see some emotion in the performance - I couldn’t tell if her seemingly detached coldness was a choice or a given. It felt like she was going through the motions, ticking checkboxes in her head with every move…You marvel at the beauty of her costumes, at the word “MUSE” splashed against her in sequins, but her attitude might seem quite arrogant. awaiting in anticipation for the moment she truly busks in the sunshine of her stunning talent.
Okani Mills! Move over, Gia Genevieve! Classic bombshell, sultry, playful - but perhaps a different kind of stocking would be more alluring. This act definitely has a lot of growing space - the world of Bond holds many treasures…
Victoria Semmybird, the lyrical heroine with Gershwin at her aid. She looked like a fairy, even though we could tell that there was a bit of struggle with the heels. The iridescent costume was the most memorable part of the act.
Хатуль , a Sugar Factory gradute, as the Little Mermaid. This act tells a tale of a tail - and the audience lived for it. Curious, playful, refreshing! The use of the net as a prop is gloriously inventive, and the twerking added a dash of pepper to the mix.
Mary Shokoladova, Slytherin queen, mesmerising sense of rhythm. She entranced the audience with precise movement - and her stage presence is delicious.
The precious Lana Summerwine, who caught my heart at the Russian Burlesque Festival with her gentle gypsy act (aka tambourine queen). What makes this act so beautiful? Perfect harmony. The second she appears on stage, the room is transformed - we feel her freedom, her stubbornness, her character - and each movement tells a story. That’s raw talent right there.
Sabina Moon, Snow Queen turned Space Spy! Why not? Fantastic audience connection, pure fun, the lights are brilliant - especially the rhythmically perfect moment of them turning on. Entertaining!
Stacey Brume (Parker?) Be still, my heart! What a brilliant idea! Lily pads, an arrow, charming hues of green and blue…a Frog Princess!
Not quite sure the second chance was really needed, as the first time was not that bad at all - but takes guts to start over, and this girl clearly has them guts, darling!
Oh my, Miss Tea! Gosling, satanism and humour? Brava! Perhaps the most entertaining act of the evening - great story, hilarious approach, delightful costume. I wish there was a tad bit more eye contact and she didn’t hurry quite so much, but surely that’ll come in time. Shame about the technical difficulty at the end, but it did not take away from her marvellous act!
Victoria Semmybird, Minnie the Moocher! The audience were kept guessing if she was truly tipsy - there was one particularly convincing misstep in the audience that even made a few people gasp. Tiny bottles in the bosom are a classic that never fails to entertain. Semmybird knows how to entertain - and you can feel how much she loves being on stage…and that feeling is contagious!
Саша Редкая - Amen, rock’n’roll! This twerking witch set the house on fire - even though the number itself was quite basic and at times hurried, the energy was undeniably fierce. I wonder why she needed the socks though…and boy, she was really angry at that broom!
Rockie Zombie, rock’n’roll mama! Showed ‘em how it’s done with her classic Cowgirl act. A last dash of fire for the grand finale, the ultimate essence of the mood of the night - bold, bright, rockin’, confident.
The Verdict
Overall, we only had about 2 acts that could be called pure rock’n’roll. Even Muse’s “Newborn” (hello, Frog Princess) was cut right before the most driven part started.
Even if occasionally some acts came close to the vulgar side of things, they were still very entertaining, vivacious and passionate!
It was pure fun - and isn’t that really all that matters, darling?
Extremely excited to see so much fresh talent emerging on the scene.
The most precious thing about the whole evening was the camaraderie. From Jeva running on stage to help Stacey with a stuck corset to Tamasinushka and Sahara in the audience, this is exactly what the world of Burlesque needs. There is never any need to be toxic, am I right, darling?
Long live Russian Burlesque!

Hoorah! Amen!!
I will end tonight with these thoughts… I entered The USMC as a young 18 year old (with a head full of rocks)… NEVER once thinking that I would EVER survive to enjoy the FANTASTIC life I have now (38 years later)… I have survived some truly HORRIBLE experiences (and would like to think I have learned from them)… If I would give any advice today (to those starting their journey through life) it would be; NEVER forget where you have come from! NEVER stop moving, learning and testing your limits! And lastly, NEVER close the door on those who truly love you (they will be there for you as long as you live)! Good Night Chesty, Semper Fidelis and God Bless Each and Every One…

Verse Thoughts
In the preceding verses of his epistle to the Romans, Paul expounds the most extraordinary position, unsurpassed privileges, and catalogue of blessings that belong to every believer in Christ. We, who deserve punishment, are justified, sanctified, and glorified, by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, simply because we have trusted Him as our Saviour.
We have been bought with a price and transferred from the kingdom of darkness into His glorious kingdom of light and life, and we are called to be holy as God is holy. We are accepted in Christ as children of God, and we are called to love others as Christ loves us, and to live and move in the power of His indwelling Holy Spirit.
Paul describes God's gracious purpose towards all who trust Him for salvation, whether they be Jew or Gentile, and reminds us that we are a holy priesthood, a royal nation, and children of the most-high God. He describes how God's loving purposes towards us reach back before the world was founded and stretch forward into an endless eternity.
He explains that God knew us before we were formed in our mothers' womb and has determined that we will be conformed into the image of His dear Son. We are accepted by God in the Beloved. We are declared righteous because of our identity with Jesus. We are made children of God and joint-heirs of His heavenly kingdom by grace - through faith in HIM.
He explains that no matter what circumstances life throws at us, what difficulties beset us on our earthly walk, or what problems we may be called upon to face, God in His grace, gathers up each and every situation, using it for our eternal benefit and His greater glory. He has even given us access to His eternal throne of grace, for mercy to find help in times of need. No wonder Paul proclaims, "What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?"
It is astonishing to realise that this magnificent, redemptive plan of God stretches back into eternity past, and was conceived before the foundation of the earth was laid. It is amazing to realise that our salvation is part of a never-ending plan - a love-story that that stretches from eternity past, into the eternal ages that are to come. And having just spread before us the most astonishing array of privileges that are ours through faith in Jesus Christ and which describes God's unfailing plan and purpose for us through the gospel of Christ, Paul finally asks the rhetorical question... "If GOD is for us, WHO can be against us?" And the resounding answer can only be - no-one! - no - one!! NO ONE! HOORAH! Praise His holy name.
God's gracious love is demonstrated through this astonishing plan of redemption and His everlasting mercy is eternally secured in His sovereign will. Paul legitimately magnifies each superlative truth and pours comfort upon all our earthly sufferings, building up his watertight argument by unfolding the unsurpassed privileges that are ours in Christ.
In consideration of all the many privileges, eternal promises, and gracious position that have been bestowed on ALL who have trusted in Christ, the only possible response for Paul's staggering question is resounding praise and everlasting thanks. "What then shall we say to all this? If God is for us, who can be against us? Who can be our foe, if God is on our side? If God is with us, who can successfully oppose us?"
No matter what circumstances of life may lie before us and no matter what difficulties may beset our path, we must never forget, that Paul's time-honoured question, in this amazing book of Romans, commands only one ecstatic response - NO-ONE, Praise His holy name!!
My Prayer
Thank You, Lord, for being my Father and forgiving all my sins, not because I deserve it, but because Christ died in my place to pay the price for my sins, all of them. Thank You for all You have done for me, and that my future glorification is as equally complete in Christ as my past justification, when I first trusted Jesus as Saviour. Thank You that because I am in Christ, You are ‘for me.’ Let me never forget that amazing truth. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
