02/26/2025 “Fiction and Feast” Progress Update:

Couldn’t tell ya exactly how many words I edited today ‘cause I wasn’t keeping track but docs says I have 400 left to go, so at least 1500. Though of course I yappity yap yapped about motorcycles, lizards, lighthouses, and copy editors, so probably more got thrown in there… What do any of those things have to do with each other? Probably fucking nothing lol

We’re sitting at a comfortable 14.1K for the first chapter, so as long as I don’t yap MORE (likely), 14.5K is the hesitantly anticipated release word count. If I can get another burst done tomorrow, then perhaps it will be ready to be beta’d by then!! And then I can shove this thing away until I need another break from the phantom thief au. I need a break from the break.

I mentioned this in another post, but I stayed home from work again, which I fucking hate. It’s one of those things where you’re in pain, can’t really do much to alleviate it, and know that a pile of more shit is waiting for you when you go back to work.

Either way, I did try to enjoy the time I had. I sat outside for a lot of it, listening to the frogs and the rain in my Monokuma jacket (oof look at this nerd go). I read some random fics I’m happy to have clicked on, edited like a madman, and had a lengthy text discussion with my sister about the Caged Child Song weirdly enough (we both agreed Kokichi should have been belting that shit just to piss Kiyo off.)

Also, if you’re reading this, dear other sister who insinuated you had found my tumblr, get back here and post your other art with the DRV3 cast. It’s adorable and I wanna shamelessly boast that it’s MY little sister who made it 🤣🤣

Anyway, no phantom thief au today. But she’ll be rearing back up soon. I’m ready ready ready to go full-speed with chapter 5. A break was, in fact, a great way to ignite some more motivation.
