And I think I'm pretty self indulgent, that I suppose most stuff I write is my guilty pleasures ??? Just straight up tons of angst, if not whump, I honestly adore, haha! Gimme a protagonist suffering a burden they never asked for, learning to lean on others, and I will drag them into some new kind of misery istg. Even my more comedic stuff, someone is suffering in some way, hehe. Also time travel / time loop angst. It's so good. The sudden change to everyone else while they slowly lose their shit? GOLD!

But, there's def more specifics, like: the trope of characters turning evil has me in a choke hold like nothing else, usually. Whether that's like alternate universe, magical artifact, what have you, I will be re-watching whatever episodes/chapters those are with glee. I guarantee I have watched every aired episode of Spider-Man's venom arc in any animated series, except for 1994 series. Like, I said, choke hold. (The best arc is in Specular Spider-Man, which should not be surprising.) OH, AND truth serum. Classic, stunning, iconic. Also if a character has a destiny/role/responsibilities they suddenly reject, I am sat. When they choose themselves and healing >>>>> .

Also, usually just like, evil/villainous cartoon women has me giggling and kicking my feet when they're on screen. Twirling my hair as we speak. Especially if they have a temper. Oh, and I usually don't like shipping but like...freak for freak. Whatever Hannibal and Will got going on from Hannibal series? Incredible. Utterly compelling. It's not a romance but it also is, if you think about it, but also beyond that.
