thinking about ryuu and kazumas devotion to eachother no matter what and how it runs deeply through their actions and words and how they changed eachother because of it. how theyre their own people while still walking side by side hand in hand no matter the distance gwah…. i think asoryuu is sickeningly in love with eachother even throughout everything (because of everything) and the fact that they separate at the end of the game to grow while having the intention of returning to eachother once again is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo yeah

thinking about how kazuma wouldve given up his dream of going to great britain for one (1) naruhodou ryuunosuke. yknow, the guy he met a year or so ago. he was willing to give up his mission and the want to find the truth for ryuu, and sure he couldve found another way to the uk, but he was genuinely willing to give up the study tour… during the first trial….. all for ryuunosuke.

the way that ryuu was the first semblance of a home he had gotten in a very long time. id like to think kazuma craved the mundanity that ryuu gave him, the everydayness of it all. that want of a simple life after piling so much on his own shoulders just to avenge his father. ryuu gave him rest i think, and he was willing to give up everything for that!! for *ryuu*!!!! BECAUSE of ryuu!!!!!

like… ryuu and kazuma are devoted to eachother, even during 2-4 and 2-5 they still very clearly care for eachother. and thats such a feat because ryuu is both hurt by the fact that his best friend is alive and he cant talk to him anymore, that kazuma kept the assassination exhange, professor, etc. from him and susato, and hes also stressed w defending barok.

kazuma on the other hand is finally facing the years of repressed grief and anger he had towards the british judicial system and the death of his father. everything that clouded him for 10 long years of his life. that people kept from him and the things he had to do to get answers.

these are two men who are clearly in grief, and despite all that they Care. they care so much. before, during, and after the trial.

“i’m not doing this for you.” to me shows how much ryuu has grown, that he isnt just in kazumas shadow. that right now hes devoted towards the truth. but throughout the trial you can also see how devoted he is to his best friend and partner. hes confused and hurt but hes still there for him. and kazumas response to every counter ryuu has, to every “objections!” and “take thats!”. is pride. hes so goddamn proud of ryuu for coming this far, hes so proud and even in this stressful courtroom where theyre both hurting, he cant help but smile because thats his partner! the one that he knew from the very beginning would go far.

my favorite part of post canon asry for me is just thinking about how they help eachother heal and recover… because goddamn they need it. somedays kazuma wakes up disoriented and confused and his head hurts and ryuu is there and walking him through memory exercises. maybe somedays ryuu spaces out for too long and kazuma gently touches his shoulder and asks if hes okay. maybe somedays theyre just there… something about asoryuu being home to one another…..

ALSO how their relationship doesnt exclude their family…. i think their relationship is honestly strengthened by the people around them that they grow to care about!! especially susato, thats their little sister supreme!!!!

tldr; i think theyre neat and love eachother very much and they have problems but w enough effort and commitment (which im sure they have) they can work through it. just two Some Guys finding a home in eachother
