A couple of people have reblogged my posts about DougDoug saying they wish he wouldn't use AI... and tbh, I don't agree. This is coming from an AI hater who has the names of every major generative tool blacklisted on everything I use, and the AI features disabled on every tool I use. I hate the ways in which they're advertised and used by the vast majority of people. However, I think Doug is the one of the two good examples of someone using AI in the field of entertainment very ethically and wholesomely.

#replacing editors with AI editing tools? BAD #good job he doesn't do that and still pays his editors #replacing art for thumbnails with AI? good job he's not doing that either!#replacing music from real artists with AI? super bad. good job he doesn't do that either #he went out his way to get a license for a song that became a meme on his channel so he could play it legally while supporting the artist #he literally has to fill in a form every time it's played. he cares about music and artists lmao #AI replacing voice actors? Good job he only inputs his own voice into it and the voices of consenting friends #and absolutely insane royalty free stuff like fucking microwave sounds #AI replacing writers? good job he's not using AI for that either.#he uses AI basically as a shitpost generator. nothing he puts into it or gets out of it is coherent or useful lmfao #I really think we need to be hyping content creators like him and his way of using AI up more #it has care and effort put into it. he uses it as a tool not as a replacement for anything or anybody else #he also has videos regarding his ethical stance around AI and where he draws his personal boundaries and they're all really interesting #and DON'T come at me with the environmental concerns surrounding AI #it's bad. but I'm not hearing complaints from someone using fast fashion eating meat driving a diesel guzzing truck using cloud storage etc #a lot of you only care about the environmental concerns about AI because you hate AI. But lord forbid a vegan opens their mouth yk #mine #dougdoug #oh and the 2nd good user of AI in entertainment imo is Vedal. but I know less about him
