During my recent trip to Kanab, Utah, I was blown away by the scenery. This wasn’t our first visit, but it’s like I forget how absolutely gorgeous it is every time. The landscapes and the rock formations there are among the most stunning in the United States (with all due respect for other equally beautiful places).

My painting teacher presented me with an interesting challenge. Instead of focusing on specific subjects, I am encouraged to explore the interaction between water, color, and paper. The goal is to develop a deeper understanding of how these elements flow together. The result will be abstract, which is something I’m not all that interested in, but that’s ok. I’ve found that every attempt I’ve made so far reminds me of the natural world, particularly the captivating rocks I saw during my trip to Kanab.

En la foto estoy pintando los pequeños gatos, los preciosos GATITOS, en la mesa del comedor, ellos me observan con atención curiosa, su espectro de percepción dimensional en verdaderamente muy profundo, con acuarelas sobre papel hemos disfrutado, los tres, del momento mágico. Artista: ALFRED SMIT(1853-1946).

Fue un acuarelista, pintor al óleo y artista de género [británico](https://www.tuttartpitturasculturapoesiamusica.com/2014/08/British-Artists.html) que a menudo realizó imágenes de interiores de cabañas que mostraban la vida doméstica y figuras en los interiores de las cabañas de una manera romántica hacia fines del siglo XIX.

Era hijo de un grabador de acero y pasó parte de sus primeros años educándose en Francia.

El artista también estudió en la Escuela de Arte Slade, ganando medallas de oro y plata.

Se convirtió en uno de los acuarelistas técnicamente más consumados del final del período victoriano.
