There's an event in tot discord where you crack an egg and chibi nxx appears and we all know Luke's questionable fashion sense that hyv themselves went with it. erhmm tbh with you I didn't put much thought behind their designs and. how they would actuallyy work and that it makes sense ? I just said 'uh this looks neat' and plopped that detail onto them LOL.

but uhh. I do hav some stuff that I'm like 99% sure wouldn't work like that bc. biology. and one single detail I'm sure would work like that bc of official media.

firrst. let's start with the one that could actually work bc of official. stuff. soo y'know how pre-teen inkfish. are the solid color of their ink, no skin tone. so I imagine it gradually disappears ! and the color of their ink peels off. it's a rll slow process so even teen inkfish still retain most of their ink color around the. 'edges'? of their body.

how an inkfish going into their teens would look like ^ their hands and feet are bigger. their ears are initially part of their hair-tentacles and raised... it also gradually detaches but the process is quicker.

and now the stuff I just added bc funsies ! silly v-like nose. the tail that can have more than 1 tentacle. I am aware that octolings only have 8 extremities and inklings 10, but I want them to go wagwag y'know? if I rll wanted to make it work then. most inkfish just cut their tentacles in two or three parts so the hairstyles still work. andd the slitted pupils I haven't drawn any of my inkfish with bc it's a new thing I came up with recently
