The current strategy of nuclear deterrence based upon the threat of retaliation has been successful to date; but it is subject to a number of destabilizing factors in the next generation. The U.S. has actively sought to strengthen the stability and credibility of deterrence and reduce the threat of nuclear war through modernization of its strategic forces and by making significant arms reduction proposals. The Soviet Union's unwillingness thus far to consider true arms reductions, and its massive increases in strategic offensive forces have necessitated continued U.S. actions to preserve our deterrent capabilities. NSDDs 12, 13, and 91 establish Administration policy on strategic forces modernization and nuclear weapons employment and outline our continued adherence to the concept of nuclear deterrence as the means for protecting the security of the United States and our allies. However, given the uncertain long-term future of offensive deterrence, I believe that an effort must also be made to identify alternative means of deterring nuclear war and protecting our national security interests. In particular, the U.S. should investigate the feasibility of eventually shifting toward reliance upon a defensive concept. Future deterrence should, if possible, be underwritten by a capability to defeat a hostile attack. (S) (crossed out)
New technologies appear to offer the possibility of helping eventually eliminate the most destabilizing threat to the U.S. and its allies, ballistic missile attack. The technology and policy studies undertaken in response to NSSD 6-83 have confirmed that a defense against ballistic missile attack might eventually be developed and could play a critical role in enhancing deterrence. The Defensive Technologies Study described a technology program of R&D and demonstration which might eventually lead to a decision to proceed with development of a ballistic missile defense system. Unfortunate for Jeffrey Lewis to record a piece on the Iranian nuclear program the day before they launch ballistic missiles at israel. Still are a lot of questions and weirdly hinting about the whole thing on facts that perhaps nobody actually knows but questions like "What does it mean to have just a few of these missiles that Israel could shoot down if we launched?" are raised now it appears that the ABMs can actually work.
(He mentions in the piece that the Iranians at this point are very close and just have to make the final decision to put the thing together and detonate one.)

A crew of aviators at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, carried out the last operational operation of the E-8C JSTARS aircraft on September 21, paving the way for the last plane in the fleet to be retired early next month.

"It's bittersweet," said Colonel Christopher Dunlap, commander of the 116ª Air Control Wing, in a statement. "I have been flying on this mission on this aircraft since the spring of 2003. There have been many changes over the years."
A 116º ACW spokesman said that two JSTARS aircraft now remain at Robins Air Base, Georgia. The provisional plan is to send the last one to the "Boneyard" (aircraft cemetery) at Davis-Monthan Air Base, Arizona, in the first week of November.
Until then, “the aircraft can be used locally for crew proficiency training, as needed,” the spokesman added.
Still, the final operational missions mark one of the last phases of life for the E-8. Mainly used for the indication of moving targets on the ground, JSTARS also served as a battle management platform. Its most distinctive feature is the canoe-shaped radome of about 9 meters in length under the front fuselage that houses a phased antenna of 8 meters in length and lateral appearance.
The aircraft first supported combat operations during the Desert Storm and played a key role in the contributions of the U.S. Air Force during the Global War on Terror. More recently, the E-8 carried out missions over Eastern Europe in preparation and immediately after the invasion of Ukraine by Russia in 2022.
USAF has been planning to retire JSTARS for some time. In June 2021, service leaders announced their intention to cut Robins' aircraft, which has hosted them since 1996.
In its place, Robins is receiving a battle management control squad, an E-11A Battlefield Airborne Communication Node (BACN) squad, a Spectrum Warfare group and support units focused on the service's Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS).
The first E-8 left Robins in February 2022. A month later, the USAF announced its intention to divest 12 of the 16 aircraft in fiscal years 2023 and 2024, and Congress accelerated the change by repealing a previous law that required the U.S. Air Force to maintain at least six E-8s.
Last March, the USAF budget request revealed a plan to accelerate the divestment plan, with the entire fleet retiring by the end of the fiscal year 2024, which began on October 1º.
The leaders of the Armed Forces said that the U.S. Air Force needs to retire JSTARS because it would not survive in future combat with an advanced opponent like China. Instead, they want to invest in various information and guidance technologies, including space-based platforms.
In recent months, Robins has ended JSTARS operations, deactivating squads and conducting final flights. In June, the 461ª Air Control Wing in Active Service completed its last operational mission in Ramstein.
The 116º ACW spokesman said that before the final aircraft is officially retired, there will be “a private farewell celebration for the former students of the JSTARS program”.

WHY SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS MUST CHOOSE A TRACK?
As a Senior high Students, And to all incoming Senior high school students are often required to choose a track to tailor their education based on their interests and career goals. This specialization helps them acquire specific skills and knowledge relevant to their chosen field, better preparing them for further studies or entry into the workforce. It allows for a more focused and personalized learning experience, aligning with individual aptitudes and aspirations.
The said program aims to enhance the quality of learning of students by adding 2 years on secondary education level.The additional 2 years is called Senior High School (SHS), in which students will be allowed to choose a particular track that is related to the field or profession that they wish to pursue in the future. Choosing a track is critical for making a student highly proficient in the field where his or her chosen track is related to, especially if the student wishes to work immediately after graduating from SHS.
Academic Track:Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM): Focuses on business, entrepreneurship, and accountancy. Suitable for students interested in pursuing careers in business and finance.
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM): Emphasizes science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Ideal for those interested in engineering, medical, or science-related fields.
Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS): Centers on social sciences, humanities, and arts. Geared towards students with interests in literature, philosophy, psychology, and other social science disciplines.
General Academic Strand (GAS): Offers a broad range of subjects. It allows flexibility for students who are still exploring their preferred college courses.
Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) Track:
Information and Communications Technology (ICT): Emphasizes computer-related skills and technology, suitable for those interested in IT and computer science.
SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding): SMAW is a welding process that uses a flux-coated electrode to create an electric arc for joining metals. It's commonly known as "stick welding" and is widely used in construction and fabrication.
Cookery: Cookery, or cooking, is the art and practice of preparing food. It involves a variety of techniques, ingredients, and methods to create diverse dishes, ranging from simple everyday meals to complex gourmet cuisine.
In conclusion, the requirement for senior high school students to choose a track is grounded in the intention of providing a more personalized, focused, and relevant education. This decision-making process is a critical juncture that not only shapes academic pursuits but also plays a pivotal role in preparing students for the diverse and dynamic challenges they will face in their future endeavors. The track system seeks to strike a balance between specialization and versatility, empowering students to embark on a journey that aligns with their passions and aspirations.

WHY INCOMING SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS MUST CHOOSE A TRACK?
Hello everyone this is from Grade 11 Humss (Vygotsky) as we tackled about why senior high school students must choose their strand.
Senior High School Guide: Choosing the Right Track and Strand K-12 is a relatively new program here in the Philippines if you compare it with our neighboring countries. For students to move into college or the university level, they must undergo junior (Grades 7-10) and senior (Grades 11-12) high school level to be given a diploma. A certification is given during the junior level but finishing the senior high level certifies and validates that a student is qualified for college.
Going into senior high school, students must choose a strand and track they would like to take for the next two years of their senior high school life. There are different strands and tracks students can choose from which can also help them choose a course they might want to take in college. Given the magnitude of this decision, careful consideration is required. Here is a simple guide to assist you in deciding which academic track and strand are best suited to your need is for those who have already and surely decided to pursue a college education after senior high school; basically, it helps you in your journey going to college because of its subject specialization. Under this track there are four strands you choose from:
1.)HUMSS– First is the Humanities and Social Sciences or HUMSS. HUMSS is the strand for students who wish to go into college with the following courses: Political Science or International Studies, English or Filipino Literature, Mass Communication, Education, Performing Arts, and other related courses.
2.)STEM– The next strand is the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math track, also known as STEM. STEM is the strand for students who wish to go into college with the following courses: Biology, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Studies, Information Technology, and so on and forth on the related courses. This strand is a very hands-on type of experience that would be good for students who have firmly decided on their future college courses and profession.
3.)ABM– The third is the Accounting Business and Management or ABM. ABM is the strand for students who wish to go into college with the following courses: Human Resources, Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Accounting, Business Studies, Marketing, Real Estate, Export Management, Entrepreneurship, and other related courses in this path. This is a suggested strand for those who have their eyes set on creating a business in the future or working in the business sector.
4.)GAS– And the last strand in the Academic track is the General Academic Strand or GAS. Now if you have some uncertainty or confusion in your mind on what specific path you would want to take, then GAS is the strand offered in this track. What makes this good is that the courses offered here are encompassing; meaning in all fields. The things that one can learn in this can help your uncertain mind explore your possible college options. Simply put, this strand is for all college courses.
5.)TVL Track-Our next track is the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood Track. The subjects on this track focus on practical knowledge and job-ready training. Once you take and finish a strand on this track, you will be given the TESDA National Certificate. If your goal is to work immediately or be eligible for certified jobs after senior high school, this track is perfect for you. Finishing any strand from this track gives you skills that are considered and accepted to qualify you for work.
These different tracks, strands, and specializations are intended for you to determine which paths fit your strengths, passions, and skills. Choosing the right Senior High School strand will help motivate you for your future career. Once you choose a strand you like, studying becomes more enjoyable since the strands are designed and specialized to match your interests. Moreover, it expands your knowledge and skills, while at the same time, exposing you to your chosen field of study in preparation for college.
Every student in Senior High School should make a choice is choosing among the give tracks in Senior High School such as Academic, Technical Vocational Livelihood, Sports and Art's & Design. In Academic track it includes three strands: ABM, HUMSS and STEM.
We should always choose the track that we want because it is important for us students of SHS to have more knowledge and straight to our dream course that we really want to achieve before Graduating SHS. And from these tracks we can learn how to manage our time and what we want in the future, from learning to these tracks we can have business as student we can also have a part time and to know more what we can know from these tracks.

My Contribution to the Society as an ABM student
The ABM is one in all student want within the ABM strand its the foremost elements sense indicate to the accountancy, business and management academic programs that target the foundational concept in corporate operations, financial management, business management, moreover as each and each factor that rotate around those central fields. strand zeroes in on opening student who are interested in carving career paths in the fields of accounting, business management and administration, entrepreneurship, finance, and marketing by teaching them the fundamentals of those fields.
it was found out that the difficulties faced by ABM students are time management, problem-solving, and school work. , furthermore, this study revealed that students suffered from difficulties as caused by anxiety on the subject topics, and lack of knowledge and solutions to counteract are the problem. Understanding social scientific research methods can help us become more astute and more responsible consumer of information.
These profession include sales manager, human resources manager, marketing director, project officer, bookkeeper, and accounting clerk, internal auditor, and business owner, among others. By focusing on a select group of high value accounts rather than a broad market, ABM enables marketing and sales reams to tailor messaging according to their needs and drive higher engagement across the buying journey.

My contribution as an ABM student to the society
The goal of this strand is to prepare students for college degrees that focus on business and industry, where their future contributions as accountants, entrepreneurs, and business leaders will be crucial to the growth and development of the economy and to the promotion of a sustainable green business. Students will be trained to think logically and scientifically, as well as familiar with the fundamentals of accounting and business and management concepts and principles.
With the ABM Strand, It is possible to pursue a Business Administration degree through the ABM stream. It focuses on imparting to students the fundamentals of project management, marketing, finance, human resources, organizational behavior, and contemporary management trends.
As an ABM student, you must have time management skills, a lengthy patience span, and the ability to concentrate solely on your academics. You will be able to do more exploring and learning about managing your own business in ABM. You'll be well-informed about the type of business to launch and management strategies. ABM addresses more than simply how you will run your company; it also addresses how much you will have to pay, the dangers involved in running a business, and how to make your enterprise profitable. You can get on the track to the corporate settings of an administrative assistant, loan officer, community service manager, market research analyst, financial advisor, statistician, etc.
Agribusiness
This generally refers to agriculture-related endeavors that align farmers, distributors, and even consumers with a market system for agricultural products. The Department of Trade and Industry is always in the course of developing the industry of agricultural farming into a thriving business-driven sector.
