ABC challenge on themes and situations where Shadow is with you (Shadow x reader)

A- Affection

Shadow is not very good at showing certain feelings, he will end up getting nervous even embarrassed when he tries to show his affection for you.

But he will try to be calm, gently touching your hands and allowing your body to be very close to his, he will also express the affection he feels by protecting you and developing interesting conversations with you.

B- Baby

Shadow has obviously never been interested or to imagine being a father, approaching this topic, he will initially be cautious and discuss the challenges you and he will face as parents.

Either way, Shadow would also try to see the positive sides and have one or more babies with you if you wanted, initially he would be a bit confused and lost to the point of not knowing how to hold the baby right after it was born, but over time, Shadow would naturally become an incredible father.

C- Careful

What you might not have imagined was that Shadow is very careful, whether in organizing things, in matters of hygiene, and even in being tidy or simply taking care of you.

He makes a point of cleaning the ENTIRE house to prevent the dirt from attracting animals or making both you and him sick, he can be very vain when it comes to getting ready to spend time with you, and even helps you cut food with a knife of kitchen.

D- Dancing

Shadow obviously doesn't like and has a knack for dancing, even if you insisted that he dance with you, he'll turn into a tree with his arms crossed and his face closed in a public place.

If you encourage him and insist on the subject, he will only accept if you and he dance alone and with you teaching him, at first he will be embarrassed and will think about giving up the initiative, but he may give in and slowly join in the moment due to your good mood and certain music.

E- Ending relationship

Shadow would obviously be upset and this would only be more anguish for him, he would go through phases such as anger, sadness and even need for you...

Ultimately, he would like it to be just "you and him a break", so that you can both talk and get back together, but otherwise...Shadow would just try to erase memories about you, avoiding and respecting you.

F- Forgiveness

Shadow would never returns after a betrayal but he would forgive you, includes if you upset him and did something he advised not to do.

Shadow wants to see you well, he loves you because of your good heart and the way you treat him, initially he would be angry but not to the point of purposely hurts you with words, he would talk to you and forgive you...hoping that you don't commit the same error again.

G- Games

Shadow wasn't very interested in games, he started to notice them because of you tastes, one day he agreed to play chess and even video games with you, which led him to have several games as a hobby.

He likes to play anything with you, sometimes he can get focused and even irritated while playing, but this doesn't become a problem...Shadow also likes it when you sit on his lap or use his body as a pillow while play, he uses you body too.

H- Holidays & dates

Shadow didn't usually create plans and celebrate holidays and other types of dates, he rarely participated in parties with Team Dark or other people to get rid of Sonic's insistent invitations.

Being with you, he is now interested in things like choosing New Year's clothes, helping you with the Christmas tree and even choosing a nice beach house for you and him to spend the summer, he becomes kind of cute when it's your anniversary...and he makes a face when you make him wear ridiculous costumes on Halloween.

I- Intimacy

Shadow rarely flirts with you, he doesn't know how to show affection but he can really be bold sometimes, he may be sarcastic and "playful" with you, when you are alone and if you are being bold with him.

He will try to be more playful than you...he can grab you and even tickle you to make you smile, or make you sensitive so you blush and he have fun with it.

J- Jealousy

Shadow will clearly be jealous at times, he will give aggressive looks to strangers and even acquaintances who are very close to you.

He doesn't fight or get mad at you, he just doesn't like people looking at you very and try to flirt with you, he doesn't trust those who are very charming and open with you (he will definitely bury that person later)...

K- Kitchen

In the moment you and Shadow became simply partners, Shadow would dedicate himself to cooking something for you, something even specific that you like.

Shadow has learned to be good in the kitchen and enjoys cooking with you, he will be cautious when you use fire and blades, he can also help you when necessary or for the simple pleasure of hugging you from behind and guiding your hands while you prepare something.

L- Loving

Shadow has gotten used to your kisses, for him the most special ones are in the cheeks and forehead, he may not smile when you kiss him, but inside he is completely smiling and with butterflies in his stomach.

He will casually kiss your cheek or forehead, he also likes to surprise kiss your lips and take your hand to kiss...because he loves the way you blush and look him when he does that...

M- Motorcycle

Shadow likes to ride his motorcycle with you, you usually ask him to and he obviously prefers to ride at night and until the early hours of the morning, he likes when and how you hug him from behind and sometimes you even seems to want to asleep, Shadow will be able to smile discreetly...

He won't really like the idea of ​​you driving his motorcycle and alone, except in cases of emergency or if you're feeling sad, in fact, He will even take the initiative to ask you for a walk, if you are having a bad day.

N- No fun

Shadow doesn't like pranks, and people insisting a lot on something he obviously isn't going to do or want, another thing that kills him inside... is that you're crying or someone has offended you.

Shadow can be easily irritated, but he would try to remain balanced and even sarcastic if you were provoking him, and as much as he doesn't like those things... he would accept sings with you and letting you decorate him with certain clothes...

Shadow is not open with people, the friendship process between you took a long time to happen...but it definitely resulted in a deep connection and of reciprocity.

Shadow avoids talking about bad things, he also recommends that you try to forget things that hurt you, but when necessary... he vents and talks deeply with you, and becomes a great listener.

P- Picnic

Shadow likes to have picnics with you, often visiting natural places and watching you while you enjoy the flowers and decide to swim in the water, you are almost like nature to him...you are simple, interesting and charming at times...

Shadow apparently likes nature, he prefers to be in empty places with a beautiful landscape, and he doesn't even mind the appearance of certain animals and insects.

Q- Quality of time

Shadow isn't usually super busy, he dedicates his time to tasks, resting, training his skills and even teaching you how to fight, he likes to spend his time with you and talk, he learned to have hobbies with you like playing games, listening to music, enjoying arts and even cooking.

Shadow will do several things with you, with exceptions for a few things like go in parties...he likes to be alone with you.

R- Ring

After a few years, Shadow will take the initiative to buy rings for both of you, he would buy simple rings... but made of gold or silver.

He would obviously give the ring as a gift and surprise to you, putting it in a little box with details or color that you like, who knows... he might even ask you to marry him.

S- Shopping

Shadow doesn't like shopping in crowded places and carrying lots of bags, but he likes being with you, he would even buy things you like in detail, even outside a specific date.

He help you choose clothes and pay attention to what you tried on, he also likes the music play in the shops and seeing you excitedly picking up and looking at things like stuffed animals, lunchs and jars of plants...

T- Trauma

You being practically an emotional support for Shadow, would make him always good be with you and even enjoy it, he would trust you, returning the same love and importance that you give him.

Shadow sometimes has nightmares and existential crises, one night...he rested his head on your lap and allowed you to caress him with your hands, while he vented and shed tears as a result of his traumas...

U- Using guns

At first Shadow thought it would be a bad idea, but your interest and insistence on using guns made him teach you how to use them.

He hugs you from behind and helps you with the pose of your arms and the mirage, he also started to enjoy training physically with you, he will advance on you when you show off...he always wins the fights and you will owe him something.

V- Value

You have a LOT of value to Shadow, it's no wonder he trusts you and has a deep connection with you.

Shadow cares and protects you extremely, he would die for the family you built with him, he loves being with you and will be until the end of time.

W- Winter or rainy

Shadow is cautious with you in winter and rainy days, he will make a point of making hot chocolate and drinking it with you, as well as forcing you to stay with him under an umbrella for you don't get diseased.

Shadow thinks you're cute wearing warm clothes or a raincoat, he warms your body with hugs and his chest, he loves sitting in the armchair in front of the fireplace with you... he also loves sleeping and watching with you on rainy days.

X- Xoxo

Shadow wouldn't take the initiative to write romantic letters or become a secret admirer, but he would watch who he secretly likes from afar, and being great at hiding his feelings.

If Shadow had a secret admirer or received gifts with a "XOXO" reminder, he would be embarrassed and not know what to do, becoming blushing and even irritated by the "playful".

Y- Yummy

Shadow likes to prepare food, buy food and eat with you, he really likes it when you try his food and reacts positively, Shadow will always thank you for the food you make, even when he doesn't like the food, he will lie

Shadow agrees to share food and snacks with you, he will sometimes clean your mouth with a lick or kiss, just don't steal the his food...he will end up advancing on you.

Z- Zzz

Shadow has obviously gotten used to sleeping with you, no matter where it is, even on top of a tree he would sleep peacefully with you, he likes to use your chest as a pillow and when you also use his chest, he doesn't like to sleep clinging, but in heavy sleep he ends up hugging you.

Some nights before falling asleep he appreciates you sleeping and your soft breathing, and he may end up lightly kissing and stroking your head...

Carry-On - A TSA agent, played by Taron Egerton, is told to let a package through security in this action thriller coming to Netflix.

September 5 - In select cinemas this month (and wide in January) comes the story of the 1972 Munich Olympic hostage crew told from the perspective of the crew from ABC Sports in Germany covering the games.

December 20th

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 - The blue hedgehog is back with his friends Tails and Knuckles in this threequel. But this time, they have to face Shadow, who is voiced by Keanu Reeves.

Mufasa: The Lion King - Did you enjoy learning about how two iconic villains were originally friends this year with films like Transformers One and Wicked? Well, let me tell you what Mufasa and Scar were up to when they were younger.

The Brutalist - Keep an eye on this historical epic come awards season. But don't let the over three-and-a-half runtime scare you, there is a built-in intermission, so pick a theater that offers refills.

What song reminds me of them?

Somebody Else Now by Daði Freyr and Honor For All by Daniel and Jon Licht both immediately come to mind. Also Solovey by Go_A could be a childhood/teenage (like Roy apprenticeship era) Royai song.

What do they smell like?

He smells mostly of clean laundry, ash, and a mild cologne. Maybe a hint of floral perfume on him depending on how much time time he’s been spending with Madame Christmas’s spies.

An OTP

Royai! They’re basically canon and I adore their dynamic. The sheer determination they both have to stay true to their beliefs and their loyalty to each other is something that I just can’t get over. I also think Jeanroy is pretty neat.

A NOTP

R*yed. Even aside from how gross it is, there’s literally no romance there.

What are my favorite platonic/familial relationships?

Of course, I really like his relationship with the Elrics. I think the dynamic of gremlin teen and tired adult who was also probably a gremlin teen is absolutely hilarious. I’m a pretty big fan of team Mustang, too, but that’s because I’m just generally a huge sucker for found families. *vaguely gestures to all of my art* Also, Olivier and Mustang have such an underrated rivalry.

What popular headcanon do I disagree with?

I can’t really think of one at the moment. Maybe that he has a fatherly relationship with Edward? I think he’s more like the uncle that comes over for holidays and asks Ed whether he has a girlfriend yet or not and calls him sport.

What position do they sleep in?

He’s a stomach sleeper but he always has to have one arm under the pillow. He kicks the covers off of him in his sleep and wakes up sprawled out.

What crossover AU would I like to see?

This one is hard because I don’t think about crossover AUs a whole lot. I think it might be funny if he met Therion from Octopath Traveler considering that he also has fire powers but essentially acts like Shadow the Hedgehog.

What’s my favorite outfit they’ve worn?

This one! I just really like scarves and formal wear.

Greed

What song reminds me of them?

Oh, so many songs. The Cult of Dionysus by The Orion Experience, Morirò Da Re by Måneskin, So What by P!nk, The Stand by Mother Mother, I’m the One You’re Looking For by Lynda Carter, and Community Gardens by The Scary Jokes are all ones that I’ve associated with him for a while.

What do they smell like?

Charcoal, blood, and expensive liquor. I have a bit of a headcanon that all homunculi smell faintly of blood.

An OTP

I am such a sucker for Greedol. It actually originally started as a bit of a joke, and then I realized that I actually really like both their existing dynamic and potential as a pairing. People are always trying to ship Greed with anybody and everybody who isn’t one of his friends and that just feels so strange to me. Like he’s got a bodyguard who’s extremely loyal to him right there, so why not ship them?

A NOTP

Romantic Greedling is just… ew. I’ve also seen people shipping him with Edward and Lan Fan which is equally gross.

What are my favorite platonic/familial relationships?

Really just him with the whole Devil’s Nest gang, but especially Martel and Bido. I feel like he and Martel are drinking buddies that get competitive with one another when it comes to things like cards and knife tricks. On the other hand, I think he’s close with Bido because he appreciates that he’s a great listener and very trustworthy. I also like the idea that him and Lust were close with each other, so they’re another favorite dynamic for me.

What popular headcanon do I disagree with?

It’s not really a headcanon, but I really don’t like how people portray him as a complete idiot. Arrogant, reckless, and lacking a certain practicality that comes with growing up as a normal human? Yes. Utter dumbass who doesn’t even know his abc’s? Absolutely not. He’s cunning, charismatic, and people-smart. After 200 years of living, he’s probably got a surprising amount of wisdom when it comes to people, too.

What position do they sleep in?

Very comfortably next to his Hatsune Miku body pillow. He doesn’t sleep a lot since he doesn’t need to, but when he does, he alternates between sleeping on his stomach and side. He can’t sleep without a few pillows, plenty of soft blankets, and a lover next to him (or so he claims.)

What crossover AU would I like to see?

Him and Bad Grief from Pathologic would be an unholy combo. They would scam people together while internally crying about how they just want their friends to love them.

What’s my favorite outfit they’ve worn?

I personally think that original Greed has the best design (except for those godforsaken shoes of his.)

Havoc

What song reminds me of them?

I actually don’t really have a whole lot of songs that I associate with him. Maybe Don’t Worry Baby by The Beach Boys? It kind of gives me his vibes.

What do they smell like?

Gunpowder, cigarette smoke, and roses from the bouquets he buys.

An OTP

I really like Havoc x Catalina a lot. Part of it might be my completionist mind telling me to ship the two characters that complain about not having partners, but also I think himbo x energetic girl has great energy. They also work painfully well in film noir AUs.

A NOTP

Havoc x Lust is really pretty eh, but I’ve not seen a whole lot of people shipping it. For the most part, I haven’t seen a whole lot of bad ships with him.

What are my favorite platonic/familial relationships?

As much as I enjoy them romantically, I also really love his friendship with Roy and Riza. I think that his friendship with Breda is underrated, too. The idea of Breda coming to visit Havoc every other day to keep him company since he’s the least busy of team Mustang lives in my head rent free.

What popular headcanon do I disagree with?

I’ve not heard a whole lot of headcanons regarding him, so I don’t have a whole lot to disagree with.

What position do they sleep in?

Unlike Mustang who progressively sprawls out in his sleep, Havoc just flops down on the bed and sleeps in whichever position he lands in. He has a tendency to flail a bit in his sleep, especially if he’s dreaming a lot. Post paralysis, he sleeps on his back and is far more still with his arms.

What crossover AU would I like to see?

Him and Alfyn Greengrass from Octopath Traveler! They’re my blonde himbos of choice, so I legally have to think they’d be fun in a crossover.

What’s my favorite outfit they’ve worn?

This one! It’s really simple, but I like it a lot.

Licensing of the Monsters: How Pokémon Ignited An Anime Arms Race

  "Hey, what do ya' got there? A rabbit?" Batman asks his mentor, staring at a video of Pikachu on a massive underground computer screen.

  "It's a Pokémon," Bruce Wayne replies.

  Five seconds later, Batman is shocked so hard by the tiny yellow creature that he ends up flying headfirst through another computer monitor (Using a clip from the "Blackout" episode of Batman Beyond, an episode that would've aired for the first time just days earlier.) It doesn't make much physical sense, but this bizarre 1999 crossover promo did establish two things: 1) Pokémon was coming to Kids' WB, and 2) Pokémon was important. So important that Batman actually took time away from obsessing over crime and vengeance to care about it.

  Echoing a 1997 promo where the comedic Bugs Bunny let us in on the "secret" that the serious, dark Batman was coming to Kids' WB, it almost seems like a passing of the torch. Kids' WB, up until then, was a programming service chock full of classic Warner Bros. cartoon properties like Bugs, Daffy, Pinky, Brain, and various members of the Justice League — all animated Americana. 

Pokémon wasn't a huge risk as the 4Kids Entertainment dub of the show had done well in broadcast syndication, they had plenty of episodes to work with (sometimes airing three in a row), and it was based on a game series that was already a worldwide smash hit.

  But the show was ... different.

  And it would end up changing cartoons as we knew them.

  Part 1: Batman Jumps Ship

  It's hard to think of a better scenario when it comes to appealing to kids than the one Fox Kids had with Batman: The Animated Series. Debuting in September 1992 and airing on weekdays just after school let out, it received immediate acclaim due to its moody, beautiful animation and storytelling that didn't talk down to anyone. Little kids could get into Batman throwing crooks around and adults could marvel at plots like the one where a former child actress with a medical condition that keeps her from aging takes her former co-stars hostage and ends up holding a gun, hallucinating, and sobbing into Batman's arms.

  It did so well that Fox tried to air it on prime-time Sundays and though this was short-lived — turns out, Batman was no match for Ed Bradley on CBS's 60 Minutes — it solidified the show as "cool." This was a show that could hang with the big boys. You couldn't say the same of something like Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends.

  And then, in 1997, it was gone. A five-year contract ran out and Batman leapt completely to Kids' WB, where a continuation of the show (the often even grimmer The New Batman Adventures) aired later that year. There, it joined Superman: The Animated Series in a one-two punch of programming called The New Batman/Superman Adventures. When it came to Kids' WB, competitors not only had to deal with the Merry Melodies crowd, they now had to face the World's Finest Heroes.

  This, along with a departing Animaniacs, left Fox Kids with a gap in flagship programming. Sure it had various incarnations of the Power Rangers (which was still holding strong) and Spider-Man, but if you look back on 1998 programming, little of it would survive the year. Silver Surfer? Gone by May. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation? Out by December. Casper? Dead in October. By May of 1999, Warner Media would announce record ratings thanks to Pokémon, while its competitors, including the Disney-led ABC, Fox, and even Nickelodeon, would suffer losses in the Saturday morning area. Pokemon would have the best ever series premiere numbers for Kids' WB at the time.

    A chunk of that has to do with 4Kids Entertainment's (or to be more specific, 4Kids Productions) handling of the show. Again, Pokémon was a proven concept. If you love monsters, adventure, and collecting things, you'll probably find something to enjoy in the franchise. But the dub was particularly strong. For years, dubbing was seen as an inherently laughable thing in America, full of exasperated voice actors trying desperately to convince you that they weren't portraying three different characters, and lips that didn't match the dialogue. Entire Japanese series were reduced to laughing stocks in the U.S. because why focus on the lovingly created miniatures and top-notch tokusatsu action in Godzilla if one of the actors sounds weird?

  But while Pokémon wasn't the first great dub, it was a remarkably underrated one. Veronica Taylor's work as Ash Ketchum was relatable, funny, and consistent. And Racheal Lillis, Eric Stuart, and Maddie Blaustein's turns as Team Rocket's Jessie, James, and Meowth gave us villains that could've easily been the most repetitive parts of the show  — you can only try to capture Pikachu so many times before you should logically find a second hobby — but instead were one of the most entertaining aspects.

  Aside from some easily meme-able bits — Brock's drying pan and jelly donuts, for example — Pokemon became a seamless addition to the Kids' WB lineup and would end up giving many fans a lifelong love of anime. And it was great for 4Kids, too, as in 2000, they would be number one on Fortune's 100 Fastest-Growing Companies.

  Fox Kids wanted an answer to this. And it would soon find one.

  Well, two.

  Part 2: Monsters Rule

  Saban Entertainment was no stranger to Fox Kids. They'd been the one to adapt Toei's Super Sentai into The Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers for American and international audiences, creating an unexpected sensation that combined monsters and martial arts. And in 1999, they nabbed Digimon Adventure, a series about kids that gain "digital" monster partners when transported to a "digital world," which had begun airing earlier that year in Japan. Based on a fighting virtual pet that had already been around for a few years, Digimon was a natural fit for an anime series and also a natural fit for a climate that was desperately trying to find the next Pokémon.

  Renamed Digimon: Digital Monsters, it premiered in August of 1999. Of course, accusations followed that it was a Pokémon rip-off, considering that they were both about befriending terrifying laser critters, but they offered fairly different things. While Pokémon was more episodic, Digimon gave viewers a more Dragon Ball Z-esque experience (they were both Toei productions, too) with the titular monsters evolving and gaining "power-ups" due to fighting increasingly powerful villains.

  Almost two months later, Monster Rancher would join the Fox Kids lineup, airing on Saturdays at 8:30 AM after Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century (a Fox Kids lost relic if there ever was one). Together, Monster Rancher and Digimon would cover the programming block with monster action, sometimes airing twice each. Meanwhile, Pokémon would do the same for Kids' WB, and if you look at their Saturday morning schedules from 1999 and 2000, it appears they just shoved Pikachu in whenever possible.

  Looking back on Monster Rancher is always odd, though, because it's so specifically trapped in the time period where it originated. The video games used metadata from readable discs to create new monsters for the player, meaning that as soon as people gained the ability to download or stream media online without having to travel to their local Circuit City, the game would look absolutely archaic in comparison to its peers.

  Monster Rancher is a very fun show based on some very fun games, and the dynamic array of personalities and their particular squabbles in the core group actually reminds me a lot of One Piece. But even the show itself deals with reviving monsters on giant stone discs — a prehistoric-looking adaptation of a video game gimmick that would, a decade later, appear prehistoric itself.

  The Monster War was waged across 2000 and 2001. And though it appears Pokémon was the clear winner — in 2020, it's the most popular franchise with the widest reach, even if Digimon does produce some stellar shows and movies — the ratings tell a different story. In the May sweeps of 2000, Pokémon (and Kids' WB) took the prize among kids 6-11, but in the end, Fox Kids would score a victory of a 3.1 rating to Kids' WB's 3.0 (the first sweeps win since 1997, the year that Batman left.)

    Early the following year, Fox Kids would score again, narrowly beating Pokémon on Saturday morning in the same timeslot and even coming ahead of properties like X-Men. And what would propel this February 10th victory? The first appearance of BlackWarGreymon, the Shadow the Hedgehog to WarGreymon's Sonic.

  Part 3: It's Time To Duel ... Or Not

  In early 2001, Joel Andryc, executive VP of kids' programming and development for Fox Kids, was looking for a "Digimon companion series to create an hour-long anime block." He felt they were too reliant on Digimon, as they were airing it three times in a single morning. Likely not coincidentally, that summer Fox Kids Fridays were dubbed "anime invasion," advertising Flint The Time Detective, Dinozaurs, Escaflowne, and Digimon.   Meanwhile, 4Kids Entertainment would provide Kids' WB with another monster show: Yu-Gi-Oh! Known as Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters in Japan, this anime adaptation absconded from retelling the stories found in the early chapters of the manga — which were mostly devoted to Yugi running into jerks, only to have his Egyptian spirit "alter ego" deal karmic retribution on them — and instead focused on the parts that involved the cool monster fights. So basically the parts that were the most like Pokémon.

  But how would this be received? In 2000, Canadian studio Nelvana had licensed the anime Cardcaptor Sakura and turned it simply into Cardcaptors — an extremely edited version that removed many important relationships and plotlines and tried to streamline the show into a pseudo-Pokémon story. It's gone down in history as one of the most questionable dubs ever, and never really made a splash on Kids' WB. So they wouldn't want a repeat of that.

  But would kids be into a card game? The cards did summon monsters, but in Pokémon and Digimon, the monsters are just there, moving around and not relegated to a glorified checkers board arena. It turned out, yes, kids would be REALLY into that. Yu-Gi-Oh! debuted at number one in multiple demographics in September 2001, and would remain a steady part of its lineup for years to come.

    And how did Fox Kids respond? Did the "anime invasion" work out? Well, sort of, but not in the way they were hoping.

  In 2001, due to diminishing ratings and audiences, Fox Kids Worldwide (along with Fox Family Worldwide) were sold to The Walt Disney Company. By November 7th, they'd canceled their weekly afternoon blocks, and the next year, they'd end up selling their entire Saturday morning block to a company that had provided their rivals with the very same TV shows that aided in sinking them: 4Kids Entertainment. The final show to premiere on the original Fox Kids was Galidor: Defenders of the Outer Dimension, a live action series that stood beside Alienators: Evolution Continues (a cartoon sequel to the mediocre 2001 comedy Evolution) and the underrated Medabots as the block's last gasp. 

  Renamed FoxBox in late 2002 (and later 4KidsTV in 2005), the 4Kids run schedule would, over the years, include anime like Kirby! Right Back At Ya!, Ultimate Muscle, Fighting Foodons, Sonic X, Shaman King, and eventually, in 2004, the infamous One Piece dub. The first Saturday of the new FoxBox lineup would also outdo the previous Saturday's Fox Kids lineup. Disney would acquire the rights to Digimon and it showed up on ABC Family in late 2001 (eighteen years later, a reboot of the original series would air, which can be watched on Crunchyroll).

  Eventually, in 2007, the Monster War would come full circle. 4Kids Entertainment announced they would be taking over the Kids' WB Saturday morning block entirely, renaming it the "CW4KIDS," as The CW had been born after UPN and The WB had ceased to be. Pokémon was long gone by this point, having been dropped by Kids' WB in 2006, and was now overseen by The Pokémon Company International on Cartoon Network.

  "We wish Pokémon USA much success going forward," the CEO of 4Kids Entertainment said. Later sued over "illegal agreements" regarding the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, the company would eventually file for bankruptcy in 2016. Pokémon Journeys, the latest installment in the franchise, launches on Netflix on June 12th.
