Pale rays of sunlight from the rising star spilled across my bedsheets as I readied myself for what could make or break my entire life.

After I got ready (which included stopping myself from crying out of stress, getting myself dressed while my mind was neck-deep in anxiety and worry, and chanting affirmations to keep my head in order), I left a short note for my parents and stuck it to the freezer. The first steps outside was...exhilarating. I had been waiting for this my entire life. Preparing, training rigorously for it. And if I mess this up, well, someone's certainly going to lose their entire sense of identity.

The ride to U.A was silent, this time, I chose to take the bus instead of sharing a bike with my friend. And when my weather-worn and repeatedly mended shoes pressed against the terracotta-coloured brick pavement, my breath seemed to be carried away by the cool, morning breeze.

But I steeled my nerves.

It was about time this world learned just how determined one girl can be to earn glory.

Of course he'd find the kid stuck in a losing battle against some of the most powerful Shie Hassaikai members, and of course the kid had been overwhelmed and struggling to not die when Shouta had finally found him, and of course Shouta had jumped in and distracted the Yakuza long enough to grab the kid and get the fuck away. And now here they are, coming to a stop in a dimly lit alley, with hearts beating out of their chests and bodies trembling.

It took a couple of months to get things in order and to tie up all the loose ends so that he'd be allowed to leave his post. It took another month to secure his place in a plane to Japan, which would've taken even longer without his contacts in the government, and another two for Japan to be deemed safe enough for the plane to be given a green light to depart.

Communication with Japan was down for all that time, which meant that Hisashi had no way of knowing if his family was okay.

They're okay, they're okay. The villains have been defeated and Japan's streets are being reconstructed. Civilian deaths were kept to an impressive minimum. They have no reason to not be okay. Probably. No! They're fine, they have to be.
