#A Light in the Dark - Maxley

Ta-daaah! Cover art for my fanfic on Ao3 under the name Angels767!

I started this October 15th and finished it last night (November 12th). Is it weird to be inspired by your own fanfic? I didn't do this because i felt pressured to do art, I just did it because I wanted to. Cover ideas don't come to me easy, but this idea popped into my head and I just had to draw it.

The fic is still a work in progress, but I have a timeline, future scenes written, and plans for it to have at least 3 parts. I posted chapter 14 just the other day :3

Here's the summary!

Bradley Uppercrust III, or 'Brad', as Maximilian Goof calls him, is back at school after being out for three weeks following the X-Games. Tank slingshotting Bradley into the blimp has forced new fears and new feelings into Bradley's life. All he wants now is to get through his last two years at State and graduate. He's on thin ice with the school and his father, so he needs to not make another mess or spill too much in therapy. However, Max seems to have other ideas.

Max had hoped to never see Bradley again, ever, after the X-Games. So why was Bradley walking up to him and his friends? Was he actually being serious, or was this another scheme? Wait, does Brad actually have a heart?

Or Bradley apologizes to everyone because he needs it for himself. He doesn't want forgiveness, just wants peace. Max forgives him, because he's Goofy's son (and because Brad gave him a pencil in class). Or Here we go, another Maxley story… How original *slow clap*

Okay, I did it! Chapter 26, end of part A, is posted!!

Chapter 27 will be the start of part B: Putting up the Frame! (I think that's what I called it--on my phone, so no notes to look at, lol)

With part A being done, I will be taking a two week break from writing and posting. My muse needs to recharge and I gotta get my ducks in a row for part B.

I'm very excited for part B and I hope others are too. I wrote some of part B before writing A and now we'll be finally getting into it!!

So, finished writing out chapter 26 of A Light in the Dark... and it feels like a perfect spot to end Part A, but I'm so torn! When I said I think Part A would be complete in a chapter or two, I didn't ACTUALLY think it would be. I thought there would be more somehow, but not really? Like I could just continue with my first thought of having it end at Christmas time, but the bit I have leading up to Christmas feels like a great starting place for B.

I don't want part A to drag out-- it's already at 25 chapters on ao3, soon 26. I'm really excited for part B-- it's where a lot of fun stuff happens.

Ugh, everything in me says end part A and just jump into part B. I also told myself I would go on a small hiatus of posting for a bit in between A and B, but so many look forward to my weekly updates 😭

I'll just have to sleep on it. See how I feel later.
