30. Tell us an idea for a longfic you want to write in the future.

I feel like I'm about to curse myself, but there was a discussion about what would happen if Nicki and Bianca had been the ones to find Armand after TVA as opposed to Benji and Sybelle and I haven't been able to get the idea out of my head.

I think they both deserved a chance to be featured since Bianca is around in PL and just about everyone BUT Nicki comes back from the dead, with Armand's contrasting relationships with them both fascinate me. Bianca is ruthless but emotional and I think it would have been a beautiful thing for her to help him as she nursed him when he was sick and dying and for him to realise there are people he loves still around and how he impacts them. She's also done with Marius' shit, so that would have been interesting to look at too.

I feel like it would have had a lot of meaning for Lestat, who is always the light and bright one to Nicki's darkness, awoke from his state to him playing to mirror what happened in TVL and that the echo of Daniel's condition to Nicki's could have been explored in a really interesting way. Looking at Louis and Antoine with the Mark 1 around? Absolutely fascinating. He's also just, and I can't really use another word for it because this is it, a bitch and I love that about him. He does not give even a little fuck what people think of him, he's not afraid to die (he's tried enough) so he's not afraid of the older generation in the slightest and just does whatever.

When Bobby notices Luke acting off after a gig he takes up the job of getting his many dumbass boyfriends to talk about their emotions... even if Bobby himself sucks at emoting half of the time.

Word Count: 1,333

Bobby watched as Luke bounced around the venue they played at for their gig. His eyes trailed after the frontman of Sunset Curve watching as Luke let himself be happy for once, bouncing form table to table, merch bag clutched over his shoulder. The thing about Luke Patterson though, the thing that people didn't quite understand... was that he's the literal human embodiment of a puppy. He'll bounce around all day writing music and demanding attention and despite Bobby's protests he'd snuggle up against him on the couch in the studio. 

The downside of this meant that whenever Luke got sad he had that kicked-puppy-dog expression nailed down perfectly and if someone - namely Reggie or Alex - didn't nip it in the bud they'd have to deal with the fall out of a grumpy Luke the next day. He turned around to grab another drink from the bar counter - club soda, despite using their fakes apparently some bartenders still had morals - and when he turned back his immediate thought was fuck because Luke was sitting alone at a table, the merch bag forgotten at his feet. His shoulders were hunched over and as Bobby approached him he could see Luke's furrowed eyebrows and the frown etched across his face. When he finally got close enough to see what Luke was doing he could see the guitarist furiously scribbling something down onto a napkin. Luke's handwriting was absolute shit but Bobby didn't even think the shapes he was writing were letters. Slowly and tentatively he slid into the seat across from Luke. Bracing himself slightly he asked, "you wanna tell me what's up? Usually you're halfway through the crowd by now." Luke sniffled and a tear rolled down his cheek and Bobby silently prayed to whatever god that existed for Alex and Reggie to turn up again soon because Bobby was not equipped enough to deal with an emotional Luke right now.

“Nothin,’” Luke mumbled, snarling in frustration when his pen snapped and ink exploded all over his hand. Bobby instantly lurched over the table in time to catch the glass from shattering onto the ground. “‘S stupid,” the guitarist said, not at all looking like the Luke Bobby was used to talking… at all. But he knew from experience that ignoring Luke when he got like this would just make the situation once. 

“Luke if whatever happened got you this upset -” Bobby got cut off by a loud amp popping and Luke jumped a mile into the air. “Okay yeah no we’re not doing this here,” Bobby said, holding out a hand waiting for Luke to take it. It ended up taking longer than Bobby would’ve liked to get Luke out of the venue and back in the van. Luke fell into the van when Bobby let him try to climb into it himself so Bobby wrapped an arm around him and helped him lean against the side of the van, sinking to the ground with his head between his knees. Where the fuck were Reggie and Alex? Bobby thought, awkwardly trying to comfort Luke by rubbing circles against his back. 

“Said I was bad.” When Luke spoke Bobby almost missed it, exhausted to the point of almost passing out he almost missed the barely whispered words that bit into the cold night air. Bobby sagged next to Luke, using the wall of the van to support his back as he let his legs straighten out ahead of him.

“Who said that?” Bobby asked, trying not to look surprised when Luke wrapped his limbs around him, burying his face into Bobby’s shoulder. “Hey they’re wrong you know that right?” Bobby said, attempting to gain some traction. If Reggie and Alex came back to a broken down Luke then Bobby was dead. He was deader than dead. He would be buried six feet under by tomorrow morning and then some. Luke sniffled but he nodded and Bobby could feel his tears soaking through his t-shirt.

“Sometimes it just - it just gets too much,” Luke muttered, instantly relaxing more when Bobby started to play with his hair. He ran his fingers through it, trying to brush out the knots and braid the long locks like he’d always watch Alex due during movie nights. When he managed to tie it off with some loose fabric from his shirt the final product didn’t look half bad.

“You know you can always come to me right? I know I don’t… I don’t show I care much but I do Luke. You gotta know that, I do care about you,” Bobby said cursing to himself when his throat choked, his voice cracky and dry.

“I know,” Luke said, letting Bobby pull him closer until they were flush against each other. “‘S easy to forget.” Bobby hummed and pressed a soft kiss to the top of Luke’s head, smiling slightly into his now-braided hair.

“I don’t mind reminding you of it,” Bobby whispered, placing another kiss on the crown of Luke’s forehead when he pulled away so they could look at each other. The van doors opened and the moment was over, Reggie squeezing his way between the two of them and Alex standing outside of the van with his arms crossed looking at Bobby with a disapproving glare.

“No fair I missed a Luke snuggle?!” Reggie cried out, burying his face into Luke’s back. Bobby just gave Alex a helpless sort of what-are-you-going-to-do shrug when Reggie and Luke decided his lap made a good pillow for the night.

“You were supposed to drive us home,” Alex accused, staring at Bobby pointedly. Bobby knew Alex wasn’t really mad at him though, the twinkle in his eyes gave it away.

“Think of it this way,” Bobby said with a smirk when Luke’s loud snore cut through the air. “When we get back to my house you and I can get up to a ‘lil something something.” Alex choked in disgust, throwing the closest thing on hand - one of his drumsticks - at Bobby’s head but his aim was off and Bobby had to reach out to catch it before it hit the back of Reggie’s head. He twirled the stick in his hand before tossing it behind Alex’s drums grinning at the drummer’s annoyed huff.

“You’re disgusting,” Alex complained when Bobby pulled him in for a kiss without managing to disturb the sleeping bandmates in his lap. When Bobby started to pull away Alex let out a little whine and pressed his lips deeper into the kiss. 

“You know you love me,” Bobby said back when they pulled away from each other. “Want me to drive?” He asked seriously, knowing Alex had been getting little sleep throughout the week and didn’t want him getting behind the wheel if he was tired. Alex shook his head,

“Nah I’ll be fine. Think I drank like, twelve cups of coffee in that place. Man I can’t believe we found the one bartender in the entire world who wouldn’t buy our fakes.” Alex whined as Bobby planted another chaste kiss against his lips.

“Yeah well we’re illegal anyways. Besides we gotta get our boys back home Alex. Let me know if you want to switch!” Bobby shouted out as Alex swung the big doors of their Sunset Curve van shut. A few minutes later the engine roared to life and Alex’s trashy pop music was playing through the cassette player and Bobby couldn’t help but let out a laugh. If Luke ever found out Alex played pop in the van then he was going to get killed and they’d be in the market for a new drummer. Sitting on the floor of their van wedged between Alex’s drums and his boys Bobby let himself doze off into a peaceful sleep, knowing nothing would ever be able to tear them apart. It was just enough for Bobby to feel like maybe his life wasn't really in shambles. Just enough to finally give him a real sense of home.

As I lurk around here and about I see ot5’s yet again running their muzzled traps going about ot4 vips and how awful they are. As far as I’m aware, are they not the same ones that preach their aren’t many ot4 vips? If we are that big of an issue don’t you have enough of your own tolerating side of the fandom to drown out any opinions or voices ot4’s? To be fair 90% of ot4 vips are not even active or haven’t been for the past 1-2 years. What would any of their opinions matter to you? Why are you worried about them? There’s so little of them according to your beliefs while pushing most of those fans to their limits off of platforms.

I’ve taken a noticed that ot4 vips rarely seem to interact or have much to say most of the time. They just mind their business. It’s only the loud side barking and intruding not knowing how to stay silent for once. A part from myself and maybe another, I don’t hear much from ot4 side. Korean vips only interact with themselves (as they should why would they want to deal with non-korean vip’s) even with them, they don’t speak upon him.

I just think you’re all just as bored as the next vip, looking for scraps or entertainment which fighting for a stance and an ex member seems to be the only fun hobby you have right now.

I’m absolutely in love with your writing! And was wondering if you could do #17- ‘Tugging on the bottom of someone’s shirt’, from the Physical Affection Promts. (I imagine that this gesture is their way of silently asking for kisses/cuddles when they don’t feel good, but maybe that’s just me).

I’d love to see you try your hand at 90’s Ot4 (Alex x Bobby x Luke x Reggie), cause young Bobby is a sweetheart in my mind. But if not it would also be cute with Alex x Luke x Reggie.

Ahhhhh I loved writing for Bobby, thank you for this request and for the compliments 🥺🥺🥺 Although this certainly didn’t end up taking place in the 90s, so this is like a modern AU I guess? So we’ll pretend Trevor is Bobby’s like dad or uncle or something, and the boys all know Julie!! 

I also went with the autistic Luke headcanon here and then added in Bobby with depression and Reggie with nightmares (and ADHD), although the nightmares aren’t explicitly talked about.

It was no secret that the four boys of Sunset Curve shared casual touches as a love language—although few people outside of their immediate friend group knew that these touches were not as platonic as they may seem. 

The four boys themselves had come up with a system, for days where words were too hard, everything was too loud, or simply not wanting to ruin a moment with speaking, they could signal to the others what they needed. One gentle pull for cuddles, two gentle pulls for kisses and one sharp pull meaning just a little space.

Luke, personally, tends to favor the sharp tug. Days where everything was just a bit too much but he still wanted to soak in the reassuring presence of his boyfriends, he’d give a sharp tug on Bobby’s shirt, the boy would quietly nod before silently gaining the other boys’ attention, everyone congregating within the “living room” of their garage. 

Hushed conversations were swapped, occasionally, but generally the boys all fell into their own silent activities. Alex draped across the couch, reading from whatever book he’d picked up that morning. Reggie haphazardly sat in a way none of the boys could, usually focused on the sudoku book that Julie had gifted him. Bobby was usually the one closest to Luke, scribbling into his own personal songwriting journal, the boy had mastered writing without making any noise. He pretended it wasn’t because of the one time Luke had nearly had a meltdown when his pencil kept making a skritch skritch skritch on a day much like this, but they all knew that was exactly why. 

After some time, Luke took a deep, shuddering breath and extended his limbs out, stretching and popping from being stuck in one position for so long and inched his way over to Bobby, hooking his chin over the boy's shoulder. 

“Thanks, Bobert.” The guitarist murmured, pressing a soft kiss to his boyfriends jawline. 

“Never a problem, Lulu.”

Alex, undeniably, used the one gentle tug the most out of all of them. Although the system had been designed with Alex’s panic attacks and Luke’s overload days specifically in mind, Alex had begun to use the system more liberally. 

During band movie nights, or nights when he’d gently shake the others awake, or just random times throughout the day. Cuddles slowly began to include hugs as well, or just vaguely touching in some manner. 

Alex never said anything, but the others knew that their weight and pressure eased the drummer’s nerves. They’d notice how much quicker he’d wind down if one of them even had just a hand rested on his shoulder, or a pinkie threaded through his. 

It was a Sunday when Alex had stomped in, his duffle bag being thrown to the side the second his body was through the door, and he collapsed against Reggie’s chest and gave a gentle tug to the bassist’s leather sleeve. 

“Bad time at church, love?” Reggie hummed, carding his fingers through the short blonde hair, other hand drawing patterns onto the taller ones back, sharing a look with Bobby and Luke. 

“Don’t wanna talk about it.” Alex muttered, burying his nose further into Reggie’s neck and winding his arms around his waist. Within minutes the blonde was asleep, but Reggie didn’t mind, he just tightened his hold on the boy and promptly followed suit, their two other boyfriends laughing lightly as they continued about their business.

Bobby was a frequent user of that gentle double tug, using it to gain short, loving kisses whenever he needed. Before a show, after, during rehearsals, passing by then in the hallways (when they chose to attend school that is), or even just going about their normal domestic activities. He never said it, but his boyfriends knew him well enough by now that they knew it was usually when his depression decided to kick in, making him doubt them, doubt their love, and so they tried to make him feel as loved as possible when these times struck. 

A few days after Alex’s bad day, Bobby was coming up behind Alex while he was standing by the microwave, reheating one of the many leftovers they had, when Bobby gave the two soft tugs to the hem of Alex’s shirt, his arms wrapping around his waist. 

The blonde spun around in his arms, pulling the rhythm guitarist all the more closer and slotting their lips together sweetly. They stood there, hands wandering and lips locking until the microwave went off, breaking the two boys apart. 

“You know I love you, right babe?” Alex hummed, pressing another kiss to Bobby’s lips. 

“Yeah, I know. I love you too.” Bobby smiled back. 

“Do you wanna watch Tangled?” The blonde brought his hands up to brush stray hairs behind Bobby’s ears as he gave a small nod. “Alright, let’s go get the other two dorks.”

Reggie, much to the other three’s shock, used the system the least out of all of them. They weren’t sure if it was because he had the strangest talent of being able to practically sense when one of the others needed affection, or something else, but on days where he did use the system, they made sure to make that whole day about him. 

When it happens next, it’s not even quite daytime. They’re all quickly woken up by Reggie, although not by any intention by the boy. He woke up thrashing, a short scream ripping through the air before he gasps deeply and struggles to catch his breath. His boys are on him in an instant, cooing to him softly, pressing into him to calm him down and mumbling soft words of reassurance. 

He calms down enough to find the hem of Luke’s muscle tank, giving it two sharp tugs. The brunettes brows crease in confusion, hand reaching to entangle itself with Reggie’s. 

“What’s two sharp tugs mean?” He murmured, not completely awake yet but also not quite sure if he just missed the memo.

“Talk. Please. Too quiet.” Reggie choked out, eyes beginning to glaze over as they nervously searched the three faces crowding his vision. The boys all share quick glances before they all start murmuring, their voices overlapping in a spoken symphony, full of love and warmth, harmonies intertwining as they went on. 

Reggie quickly drifted off to sleep, the others continuing to mumble until they drifted off themselves, pressed even closer together than before, limbs crossed and tucked wildly so they were each somehow touching all three others. 

Two sharp tugs, Luke thinks to himself as he begins to drift off, admiring the softness of the features of the three boys surrounding him, fill the silence. Got it.

Bravely Default 90′s Sitcom AU

Because I’ve been watching Boy Meets World and getting OT4 emotions. Also fuck it. I live a stressful life and this is cute and makes me laugh. For even more camp, they have a band. 

Edea Lee: Main Protagonist. Has a catchphrase “Mrgrgr...!” Typical plucky, headstrong girl coming of age story except she’s - le gasp - the mayor’s daughter. Lives in a fairly well-to-do family. Every early episode ends with her learning a lesson or something of that nature. Her Very Special Episodes usually include her coping with her mother’s chronic illness, her father’s prejudice and her relationship with Kamiizumi who basically Mr. Feeny.

Tiz Arrior: B Protagonist. Lives with his little brother and parents. Working class, tends to provide a voice of reason to the spoiled, often over emotional Edea. The one with the random shirtless scenes. His parents are an inconsistent plot point. Sometimes showing up, or just not being there at all until Season 3 when they are entirely different actors when there’s a whole arc where his little brother has a terminal illness. 

Agnes Oblige: A quiet, cheerful foil to Edea. Enemies in the first season until the last episode where the two gets stuck in an elevator and become very close friends. She’s very religious and an overachiever. An orphan being raised by relatives. There’s a whole episode about her looking for her birth parents and seeing their photos for the first time. There’s an episode where she gets to meet her dad, but he only appears in one episode and is just mentioned a few times. She’s usually the one dispensing life-changing advice at the end of an episode.

Ringabel Dim: Cute but Troubled comic relief. Usually the one who makes up all the schemes to get the group into trouble. A failed ladies man and all around underachiever. The cast member that sings. Doesn’t get any decent character development until half way through the second season when he sneaks in through Edea’s bedroom window during a Very Special Episode about abuse in the foster care system. Sometimes makes really dark, controversial jokes. Great hair.

Okay so I know Conrad has been our focus lately.

But I’d like to take a moment to appreciate the 90’s ot4- Alex x Bobby x Luke x Reggie (I dunno if you ship them but I lobe them so sorry...)

These boys have always known they love each other and they’ve never been shy of that. Friday movie nights have always consisted of piling on Luke’s couch and cuddling under their singular blanket. If they’re cold it just makes sense to swipe a hoodie from Alex or “borrow” Reggie’s jacket. And they’ve never been shy of throwing an arm around each other’s shoulders or grabbing someone’s hand to pull them where they need to go. Why not? Is really the question.

And then one day it just blinks into Reggie’s mind and he can’t help but voice aloud, “Oh my god. Guys. Guys I love you.”

“Yea we know Reg.” Luke shrugs.

“Love you too.” Bobby replies as if it’s as easy as breathing.

“No. No I love you. All of you.” Reggie emphasizes and they can tell there is growing panic thrumming under Reggie’s skin now. They pick up on the tremble in Reggie’s voice. Because they all have memorized that voice, they know every note and tremor that echos from him.

They all leave their instruments behind to slowly approach Reggie.

“Yeah well. We love you right back.” Alex chuckles softly, nudging Reggie with his shoulder.

And after that, after they said it out loud. Once they all realized they were on the same wave length. Not much changed. But what did change, well they weren’t complaining.

Because now their cuddle sessions included lazy kisses and playful pinching. They had the permission to not just cuddle, but plaster against each other. To crawl in each other’s arms any time they want, they didn’t need movies as an excuse now.

Their clothing stealing game just increased in intensity. Because now when Alex sees one of his boys in his hoodie he chuckled at them being swallowed by his clothes. He always is happy to get Reggie or Luke or sometimes even Bobby, to blush as he teases them gently.

And if Reggie always catches one of his boys in his jacket, well, it usually ends up off of the both of them and on the floor.

And now, whether in public or not, they grab onto each other’s hands and intertwine fingers just cause. Not because they have anywhere to go. But because they are exactly where they need to be. Right here with each other.

okay time for a chat from fandom grandpa, since in the past few months i’ve been seeing something on tumblr that i think is indicative of a fundamental misunderstanding of long-used fandom terminology (meaning, “ot3″ and the concept of portmanteau names). and i think it’s one that is becoming an actual problem because it leads to serious misunderstandings that can honestly be damaging to people’s reputations. (mentions of pedophilia and incest below the cut)

the term ot3 (and most riffs off it like ot4, ot5) is a polyamorous equivalent to otp. it stands for “one true threesome”, and it refers to romantic relationships. so the vast majority of people seeing the term will think that’s what you mean when you use it, because that is how it came into existence and that is how it’s used basically everywhere outside of tumblr/people coming from tumblr.

people who apply it to what they see as parent(s)-child(ren) dynamics, you need to know: it is overwhelmingly likely that anyone who sees you doing this is going to assume you are supporting a pedophilic relationship. because ot3 has historically and still refers to romance.

a portmanteau of character names is also indicative of romantic pairing. this isn’t even just an “online fandom” thing - it happens constantly with celebrities, a la “brangelina”. i’m going to freely admit that i don’t know if this is a thing in cultures outside of western ones, but i have no right to comment on that. i’m addressing an english audience with this post, and there’s no getting around the fact that english fandom culture has been primarily shaped (and dominated) by western cultural norms.

so, for the use of it i’m seeing a lot of from people who i genuinely don’t think are trying to tag things as romantic ships: 

if you are smashing sibling names together, people are going to assume you mean an incestuous relationship. if you tag a post of a sibling relationship with a namesmash of their names, most of the people who see that tag will not think you mean something platonic.

both of these practices are fandom shorthand for romance and have been for at least a decade. 

maybe there’s some misguided attempt to broaden the usage of these bits of shorthand to refer to platonic or familial relationships. and maybe some people are gonna try to message me or reply to this post blasting me like “god shut the fuck up, they don’t necessarily mean romance calm down and stop assuming”. 

i’m gonna ignore anyone who does it because they’re missing the point, which is “if you’re doing this, most people are going to wonder if you’re a pedophile/pedophile apologist or an incest supporter”. these assumptions happen because it’s literally why shorthand exists - to use a quick term to refer to a more lengthy concept. (other fandom examples: “au”, “hurt/comfort”, “fix-fic”, “slash”, “mary-sue”)

this shift is not universal. this is something that’s starting to happen exclusively on tumblr (and people coming to other sites off of tumblr), and other fandom sites like ao3, livejournal, and dreamwidth do not use this shorthand for platonic relationships.

i understand why people would try to shift the meanings if this is what’s happening - fandom has, historically, had a strong fixation with romantic/sexual relationships over platonic ones, and as a result there aren’t many terms for platonic dynamics. this fucking sucks, and the kneejerk reaction to repurpose things already in use is something i get. fandom culture is woefully inadequate when it comes to providing shorthand for platonic relationships.

but i think this is a huge mistake if it’s what people are trying to do. new shorthand needs to be created, because i honestly believe these ones are too ingrained in fandom culture as romantic terms.

you need to understand that probably 90% (or more, depending on the site) of the people who see you use them are going to rightfully think you are talking about a romantic ship. and if they see you applying them to characters with large age gaps and/or characters who are related? they are overwhelmingly likely to see this and think “[x] is a supporter of incest and/or pedophilia”, and may call you out as such. so if you’re not a supporter of incest and pedophilia and don’t want people to think you are, you shouldn’t be using romantic shorthand in this way!

i spend so much time trying to figure out if someone is misguidedly using these terms or if they’re genuinely shipping these characters in romantic terms. i know i’m not the only one doing this, because my friends around my age have confirmed it to me or had public difficulties with people using romantic shorthand for “platonic ships”.

it makes the fandom experience on tumblr into a guessing game or a prompt for me to have to go digging through someone’s blog to figure out what they actually mean. this defeats the whole purpose of shorthand, because we no longer know what you mean when using it.

so, basically:

if you are not trying to imply romance between these characters, don’t use fandom shorthand for romance.
