i cant stop thinking about the way jimin was giggling like a school girl after he called jk over as a guest for his bday party, and then getting all awkward and flustered as if talking to his school crush. he was smiling so much even if jungkook was just standing there— and the way jungkook was also giggling when he said "jimin came by" to greet him happy birthday on his recent live. my boys are so smitten for each other its so adorable

It’s the way they do things all the members do, but when they do it every so often it feels like we are intruding, you know?

Oh and let’s UNOT7nify things for a change, shall we? for all those people out there going “but Hobi was there as well so”. To begin with, we have no idea of how it all went down. If JM didn’t come forth with that Hobi super-crop, we could have assumed that maybe they visited him at different times. But even with Hobi being there, who was the one that was so eagerly awaiting this day? Who was the one who gave us another very cute super-crop picture, of JK this time, while he is seemingly blowing out candles? 

Hobi also joined them during JM’s birthday live last year, and people that don’t want to acknowledge it will not, but the change of atmosphere was instant. Before his arrival, not gonna lie to you, I was in disbelief and I didn't realise I was holding my breath until Hobi came in. Same with the Team Party-Party~! V-Live in LV, the way JM’s whole demeanour changed when JK walked into that room. Tae unbothered and Hobi moving aside, both probably being very used to this dynamic by now, but us still watching and wondering if all of this is okay to witness?! LOL

QUICKIE - 1: The Moon Embracing The Sun

Constantly, I hope everyone is doing great and I’m guessing we are all very excited about tomorrow! I’m perhaps overly excited and all I need to do at this point is try and get some sleep, like for real, but I feel like I’m a kid again and it's Xmas Eve’s Night where even tho I ain’t tryna catch Santa, I’m too hyped to sleep 🙃 … ANYWAYS, As the name of this series suggests, this is not going to be anything excessively long, but rather just a quick observation regarding some cute/lucky/noticeable occurrence I might have noticed or that might have happened in correlation to Jikook.

Today I’d like to talk about a “little�� K-Drama called The Moon Embracing The Sun, which is from 2012, like, a good 10 years ago, but good stuff, good stuff! I literally just finished watching and it took me two weeks because I was trying to make it last (and it is a good 20 episodes). As you might already have deduced, the fact that it talked about The Moon and The Sun made me think of Jikook and straight away my brain started braining as I began to better understand a very distinct difference between how The West and The East perceive the relationship between the Moon and the Sun (myself being born and brought up in The West). 

First of all, I was quite intrigued to find out that the drama was a love story between the Sun and the Moon, since (as some might have gathered by now) with me being really big on mythology (greek/roman in particular), I’ve always had a hard time thinking of the Sun and the Moon as anything other than twins, which is what Apollo (eventually god of the Sun) and Artemis (eventually goddess of the moon) are. In The East it appears that they for the most part star crossed lovers for something the moon did apparently, but lovers nevertheless.

This week has been a bit messy hasn’t it? And to top the madness all off, though I’m sure we are all happy to see that JK is doing well, thanks to his IG updates, it would have been great to “hear” from Jimin as well 🥹at this point is like, I know you working but, help a sister out you know? Like we be “worrying”/hella selfish here in this neck of the woods, like … jimiii↗️↘️iiin, I MISS SO MUCH IT HURTS 😭. So I thought I’d stop by to write something … cute me thinks? I think we can all use some fluffy, tender and light STD: Speculations, Thoughts and Delulu. In fact, the idea for this post was the result of me reading this post → Jikook After Tokyo by @wingzie. So welcome to another long ass post! 

Though wingzie’s post was clearly about both JM and JK, I haven’t been able to shake off the image of Jimin blushing/being shy. I’ve always felt like Park Jimin is the kind of human being who, at least until circa pre-2018, would instantly wear his heart on his sleeve full-throttle. As of present, he seems to be much more in control with regards to the majority of emotions that he can control, sometimes even resorting to smart talk/ cynicism as a substitute as well. But oh boi, it used to be that we were always made aware of any kind of emotion he felt from little happiness and ecstasy to pet-peeves and straight up being bothered.

The only time we are now privy of a non-controlled emotion from Jimin is when he blushes/gets shy. There are infinite reasons why different people get shy. Some people get shy out of being complimented, some people get shy just being in the proximity of the person they maybe fancy, some people get shy when put on the spot, etc etc etc. When it comes to JM, what in my opinion, seems to be his shy trigger are situations where he REALLY doesn’t know what to do. So he “blushes” or becomes “shy”, so to say, and in his case it seems to happen mostly on 2 particular scenarios:

He is out of depts, not in his element, doesn't want us to know, and he is well aware that it will show on his face.

He hasn’t yet processed his feelings with regards to a certain situation. Hence, he hides his face so that we don’t see how he is feeling in that moment, before he himself can actually process what it is that he is even feeling.

Now, though JM has admitted on many occasions that he is indeed the shiest member of the band, people who are just focused on his performance persona, or just observe him within his comfort zone (which is for example anything with his members RUN BTS, BON VOYAGE etc) will not notice this side of him all, in fact they might even think that he is “capping”.

hi dunno if you had this question or not but do u think before jikook become a "thing" vmin and jihope messed around... cos if u ask other blogs they will beat around the bushes but aint nobody actually answering lol im saying this cos vmin are close as jihope hobi was his roomate tho (roomates) i didnt see jimin &hobi dynamic turn around like this until bv in malta or burn the stage..?

anyway it doesnt changr my opinion on jikook im just curious cos it looks like they prob messed around lol and

at some point i think rm had a crush on jimin too thats why sometimes jungkook had ?? a "problem with minimoni " monitoring jikook

Sure, let’s talk abou it.

No, I don’t think JM messed around with any other member in BTS before, during or after JK. Short answer; amongst other factors, one (not the main factor but  …) is it would take a person who actually thinks they are desired in such a manner to do so, and quite unfortunately, for the longest time, I do believe JM didn’t believe himself to be said person at all. As for the Long answer, let’s look at each pairing you mentioned, shall we?

Let’s start with giving some context to my thoughts: 

Not sure if you read any other of my posts, but I think 2015 was the year JK started “peacocking” so to say, at JM, and through ups and downs it took them 2017/2018 to actually enter a steady relationship and by steady I don’t mean they were in an open relationship prior to this. What I mean is that they both were trying to figure out things like, for example; what they actually were feeling for each other, or would them “being together” actually work, or could they really actually do this., etc, etc etc.  

Furthermore, I should add, that I believe JM “taunting” JK with requests of kisses and telling him he liked him and wanted to go out with him etc, as they already had a very good relationship off-camera (as proven by various interviews), was just an also quite naive approached mixing at an attempt to establish a connection with JK on camera, with feelings he still himself hadn’t quite properly acknowledged. In simple words: He was consciously kidding about feelings he subconsciously already had but never really took seriously.

I’ve been wondering.

For the past week, I’ve been wondering about what Jeon Jungkook would do for Park Jimin’s birthday  privately. Because I was 100% sure he wouldn’t appear in JM’s vlive, just as much as I was 100% sure JM wouldn’t vlive from his private home (my reasons being, are probably for another post though … 😁). BUT, at the same time I did  wonder; since JK doesn’t have the excuse of being at the company anymore, and since he is not going to release another 100% centric Jimin GCF; … what is he going to do? So you might be wondering: if you didn;t think he was going to do anything public, why still wonder about what he could do?

MIND YOU, being the private person that he is (they are), I did for the most part  expected JK to not post anything at all. So I was actually at work wanting to talk to my loved one and not being able to (don’t ask…) while waiting for some Jikookers to beg for JK to post something, the whole time thinking “…  it would be nice if they’d leave JK alone, is not like he is going to publicly do anything ..”. AND THEN, the second I thought that, I remember about last years birthday and I was like “🤦🏾‍♀️🙄😒😬…”.

Which brought me right back to the me that had been hypothetically thinking about “if, then what?”. If JK really wanted to publicly wish JM a happy birthday in a still intimate way but still not being caught: HOW THE FUCK WOULD HE DO THAT?

Most Disappointing Books of 2022

So the worst books aren’t necessarily the most disappointing – some of those I fully expected to hate! And the most disappointing aren’t necessarily the worst (I have a 4-star read in here lol). But there were some books I was really looking forward to that just. Dropped me in the trust fall.

One of these books has a sexual assault scene, but I would have been sufficiently prepared had I checked the content warnings on storygraph 🙃 Aside from that, there may be some spoilers ahead, so if you’re concerned, tread lightly.

And now – my top 10 most disappointing reads of 2022 ranked (read this past year, not necessarily published in 2022).

10. Kill the Farm Boy (⭐️⭐️) by Delilah S. Dawson and Kevin Hearne In the tradition of Monty Python, a rag-tag bunch of unlikely heroes adventure to find (or resurrect?) the kingdom’s Chosen One and break a few curses.

Kicking this list off with one that was also on the least favorites list – mainly because I didn’t have enough “worst books” to round out a list of ten. So generally the same applies here. It’s this low on the list because I didn’t expect too much of it, and really only picked it up because I’m interested in the followup book, but the humor rly did not vibe.

9. Hani and Ishu’s Guide to Fake Dating (⭐️⭐️⭐️) by Adiba Jaigadar Hani needs to “prove” her bisexuality to her friends and Ishu needs to be popular to win votes for head girl; the two agree to a fake relationship despite not liking each other very much.

This one was upsetting because I was really interested in the intersection of the teens’ identities in this one, but I felt like nothing was every explored fully enough. It’s YA and the girls are on the older end of their teens but the authorial voice bordered on middle grade to me. I also felt like it tried to do too much with their story, piling on an adversary to lovers thing on top of the fake dating, while at the same time trying to honor both girls’ personal journeys. I think this would’ve been better as a contemporary novel centering on one main character with some romance flavor, rather than aiming for a romance outright.

8. Ballad (Books of Faerie Duology) (⭐️⭐️) by Maggie Stiefvater When James’s musical talent attracts the faerie Nuala, he finds himself embroiled in a fae war.

This one should be lower on the list due to how much I did not enjoy but in all fairness I really didn’t expect to. I read the first in the duology the previous year and it didn’t have anything special to offer me, which I was upset about, so let’s consider this as an entry for the whole duology. I always say I want more paranormal focusing on celtic myth and tradition, and I know miss maggie can write a book I like, but this just. Didn’t hit, I guess. It did feel very outdated as well, and I know she was rather young when she wrote it, so I can write this off as a sorta stepping stone in her career, I suppose.

7. In Deeper Waters (⭐️⭐️⭐️) by FT Lukens The prince Tal discovers a prisoner on an enemy ship and sets him free; when Tal is kidnapped to start a war, the ex-prisoner returns the favor.

I feel bad that this is even this high on the list, but it’s simply because I had higher hopes than the others. It was a perfectly good story, with interesting politics and fun world-building. However, I had picked it up primarily for the romance and it really left me wanting in that area (despite the OTT ending – iykyk).

6. Rabbits (⭐️⭐️) by Terry Miles There is a game that blurs virtual reality and reality – and K, who has been obsessed with the game since childhood, finally gets a way in.

Yet again, we’ve reached one that double features on the least favorites list. This one’s higher because I don’t think I would’ve read it if I were more familiar with the source podcast or had read more reviews. I picked it up expecting some reality bending philosophy fodder and instead got a very straightforward – and sexist, at certain angles – narrative. Bored to the extent of disappointment.

5. The Bromance Book Club (⭐️⭐️⭐️) by Lyssa Kay Adams MLB player Gavin’s marriage implodes when he learns his wife has been faking her orgasms; his friends use romance novels to coach him through saving his relationship.

The anticipation may have done me dirty with this one. I saw everyone on booktube raving about this for nearly two years before I got my hands on it and it was so. mediocre. And that was upsetting because the premise is so cute!! But it was so. Painfully. Heterosexual. There was no fun. There was no whimsy. There was the heaviness of a marriage falling apart with children involved despite the easy fix of. talking to each other. Both leads’ character journeys made sense and carried weight and the sex scenes were fine but had I known how bland it was, I probably would’ve given it a skip.

4. American Pop (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) by Snowden Wright This sprawling family saga about a fictional soda empire follows the Forsters and their misfortune through the generations.

This was quite a decent book! But I had expected this to be a new favorite of all time. I had hoped that I would experience the passage of US history through the unique perspective of an ensemble cast with the added flavor of an alternate/fictional history. Specifically, I was hoping for something reminiscent of The Vanishing Half by Britt Bennett (one of my 2021 favorites), which I loved so much not necessarily because of the characters’ and their stories, but because of how I saw America develop throughout their lives. This one said very little about America or industry or the passage of time, and mainly focused on a vague “family curse” and the unique despair and misfortune of each family member. It was a fine book, but not what I was expecting when I picked it up.

3. Cytonic (⭐️⭐️⭐️) by Brandon Sanderson Now stranded on the other side of the galaxy, Spensa makes new friends and learns more about the history of the Delvers.

With the third installment, the series slipped into a pattern that I’m not a fan of. I really enjoyed the first book, and I withheld judgement on the second book, hoping it was a brief diversion from a main plotline, but the third solidified the series’s trajectory. Each book thus far follows the concept of Spensa being thrown into a new group of people/strangers/friends, creating a brief found family that readjusts her worldview, then moving on. The first book made me very invested in the planet and the flight class and I’ve been missing them for the majority of the last two books 😔

2. Tell No Tales (⭐️⭐️) by Sam Maggs and Kendra Wells Anne Bonny has a prophetic dream and urges her crew to face the monsters in their pasts.

I feel bad about sticking this on the list because I think the fault is with my expectations, but I was truly so disappointed by this book. I was expecting a YA pirate adventure with some speculative elements but this is ultimately a middle grade historical fiction, emphasis on the historical. The diversity was nice but felt like way too little too late wrt graphic novels for kids. The plot was excessively formulaic and paint by numbers and it offered me. Nothing, basically. When Anne Bonny and her own crew were right there.

1. That Kind of Guy (⭐️⭐️⭐️) by Talia Hibbert Rae needs a fake date for an author’s convention coming up and turns to her best friend Zach, who’s been recently coming to terms with is demisexuality.

This one comes out on top simply because of how excited I was to read it. I love Talia Hibbert, and I love the previous two books in the series. The first (A Girl Like That) was even my first Talia Hibbert! And on top of this, it’s a fake relationship (favorite trope), with a demisexual main character (personal representation), and an older heroine (#feminism) who’s an author (also favorite trope/personal representation)! This sounded made for me. I started the whole series to get to this book. And then. There was nothing all that special about it. I have read much better demisexual characters. The fake relationship ruse dissolved immediately. The sex was just as detailed and graphic – maybe even more so – than Hibbert’s other books. It was a perfectly good book! That let me down so entirely 😅

A nice mystery right from the off. Just from the first 5 minutes: why are the Doctor and Rose working in a school as a teacher and a dinner lady? What’s up with the little kid genius? Why are the dinner ladies so carefully trying to move a vat of something that seems to make a woman start to evaporate like the Wicked Witch of the West? What’s special about the chips?!

I love when an episode makes you immediately start questioning what the heck is happening and then all the pieces fit into place – the perfect Doctor Who episode structure.

Also, Anthony Head as the headteacher! (Anthony Headteacher?) Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith! K-9! The Doctor’s face when Sarah Jane appeared and the chills you get when she realises who he is! Another episode I forgot how much I loved.

Initially, one thing that annoyed me was the whole “pitting women against each other” thing. I thought, why do Rose and Sarah Jane immediately hate each other? Is there any reason other than them just being possessive over the guy they travel with? My pet hate is women characters hating each other for no reason. But then I realised they are both possessive about their time with him. They both thought they were his one-and-only; a special one. But meeting each other makes them realise they’re not the only one, and I really appreciated them eventually bonding over their experiences.

Also… how absolutely dare Mickey Smith tell Rose to go easy on the chips. Another line that hasn’t aged well 🙃

The ending – with the Doctor saying goodbye for good to Sarah Jane – feels so much sadder now that Elisabeth Sladen is gone.

I already did this yesterday but I’m bored and these are new questions so 🤷🏼‍♀️ This time I won’t be lazy and will actually add questions & tag some folks.

1. What’s your favourite book?

The Catcher in the Rye. I’m a firm believer that anyone who says this book is about an angsty rich teenager whining the whole time has never dealt with depression or any sort of trauma. I’ve read it every 5ish years since I was 13 and always find something new in it/see it differently depending on the age I’m at. I wrote a high school thesis on the symbolism in it and the idea of loss of innocence and...yeah, anyway, I could go on all day.

2. Do you like to travel?

Love to! Last summer I drove across the country when I moved to California and stopped in Nashville, Jackson (lmao was supposed to be New Orleans but there was that July hurricane...), Austin, El Paso, and Tuscan. Unfortuantely my last big trip was three years ago so I’m due for one if we can travel again any time soon 🙃🙃

3. Last city /country visited?

Last city was going back to DC for a visit/work training for a week in Feb. Last time I left the country was my trip to SE Asia three years ago.

4. Do you like old movies?

Not particularly, but I love old horror movies like Hitchcock and the 70s/80s slasher films. Cliche but It’s a Wonderful Life is my fav christmas movie. I sob when I watch every year on Christmas Eve.

5. What is your ultimate dream in life?

Oh man. My first instinct was to say to publish a novel that’s like...at least semi-successful. But the older I get, I just want simple things out of life like love, happiness, being at peace with myself, helping others.

6. Are you single / in couple / married?

Single. I’m a terrible mix of independent, introverted, and picky. I started to get back into dating in March for the first time since ending something back in January but obviously that didn’t happen 😬

7. Something you really like in you?

I like that I’m independent. Definitely aware of my privilege but can also handle most of my shit alone if that makes sense (middle child here 👋🏻). I’m also really empathetic and passionate about the things I care about.

8. Do you know how to ride a horse?

Lol NO. Tbh they scare me, I’ve never had a desire to ride a horse, and will probably die before ever having rode one.

9. A song you loooooooved when you were 15 years old.

Oh god. 2009 was a long time ago. Maybe Sometime Around Midnight? Honestly I didn’t listen to a lot of top 40 back then and was all about the sad indie/alt rock or acoustic/singer-song writer. I was probably listening to some weird mix of Jack’s Mannequin, Matt Nathanson, OAR, Reliant K, T Swift, Mat Kearney, the Fray, the Beatles, and a random assortment of 70s/80s/90s music. Please don’t judge me.

10. A piece of art to describe you (song/painting/music/movie…).

Hmm. Big Fish is my fav movie and I love both the message and aesthetic of it. I just love music and can’t imagine narrowing it down to a song. I stumbled upon these two paintings on tumblr years ago and still love them/immediatey felt drawn to them, so take that how you will.

It's foggy and frosty and COLD here and I have frostnip in one of my thumbs. Got my heater on high after a v hot shower and I'm gonna study all day buuuuuuuuut I wamnt Draccy 🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭 I know he'd be asleep bc it's daylight but surely I can climb into his coffin and lay on top of him, right? oh honey... welcome to my world 🙃🙃🙃🙃It's currently 9 degrees I have to wear a coat that is basically a tailored down comforter and the other night it got down to like -18 degrees and I spent the whole night with TWO heating pads on high desperately trying to play the sims in my freezing fucking house (had to keep the heat low bc the upstairs gets fucking so much more insanely hot than the rest of my house and also my bed is blocking my heating vent so I can like bake in my bed if I don't keep it down either lmao)
