Yesterday, Tahra's Godmama, Shihan Kyosanim D. Brioché (who is now martial arts Professor D. Brioche) got her #8thDan in #martialarts arts. I don't think I can explain to those who aren't martial artists how significant that really is, particularly in a style highly dominated by men. Being a warrior isn't usually just about fighting (though you never want to mess with this woman), but about having a warrior's heart, filled with perseverance, loyalty, kindness, determination, care and a deep sense of justice. She didn't need another belt to tell us she had all of that, but it is great to see her recognized. I am so happy to know my child has someone like her to look up to. Professor D. Brioche, we are so proud of you!
