A Follow Forever - From The Heart

i never really know how to start follow forever posts like this because whenever i hit another milestone i get both shook and emotional. those of you who have been here from the jump might remember a time when i measured my followers by concert venue size. i’ve spent a long time thinking about why i do that and i think it’s because it helps me understand the scope of what’s happening here. like, truly i’m already verklempt that someone would choose to stay on my internet lawn but thinking about the number of people on said lawn makes me go ‘we’re gonna need a bigger boat.’

we’re heading into arena territory and that...shocks me. i hope you all know your engagement here is what keeps things going: readership, community, family - not audience. what a cold word. i don’t like it. community is reciprocal and i like it that way. you have no idea how much pleasure i get out of being here. ~ when people slide into my inbox drunk; when people slide into my box about chanyeols ears - especially his left ear; when all of you call out my tags; when a reader tells me a fic moved them, touched them, healed them. that’s what brings me pleasure. i’m indebted to all of you in many ways.

i decided to do a follow forever, actually broke this out in abc order. the last time i tried to do this, it took too long. i got impatient lmao. but! i feel like now is the appropriate time. i went deep yall, way back to the very beginning of my following list. and what i found was change - both in tumblr as a platform and in usership. some of the people i first started following are no longer here - theyve moved on, grown, changed fandoms. but everyone here has remained. and that makes you really, really special. it means we got to grow into change together.
