I know it's literally midnight on a tuesday but also my favorite band in the whole world just released a new album and y'all it's so fucking GOOD !!!! The Maine are 9 (NINE !!!) albums in and they're making some of the best music they've ever made.
I got tickets to Denver to celebrate this album being released without having heard a single song because in the 16 years they've been a band, The Maine truly haven't released a bad song. And i'm so proud to be here on this day celebrating this fucking BANGER of an album !!!
Give it a listen if you like Feeling Things and Grooving and feeling like a disco cowboy. Happy 8/1/23 Day Y'all !!! 8123 really does mean everything to me
2) shoe size - 9 ish? Give or take? For our metric friends reading this that’s about a (?) (idk metric)
7) have tattoos? - I have three!! My lil alien dude matches with Bestie, then my cactus was a flash done at 8123 fest (opposite my alien) and then my moon-tide on my arm. Definitely need to pick out more fun art to put on. Orion constellation and Kahlua’s Spot are up on my list for my boys
38) my childhood career choice - ooh when I was super young I just kinda assumed I’d be a doctor or in the medical field since that’s what all the other women in my family did? But then I was like hm…too many people for that. So then I flipped to “shrug” and that’s basically where it stays even today 😂
It’s a number that you can’t easily explain but it holds so much meaning.
The Maine is one of the most hard working bands. They run their own music label, have their own festival, run community service events for their fans (sometimes they participate with their fans), design their own merch & don’t do paid meet & greet because why would you pay money to meet another human being? They keep pushing forward (this band has been around since 2007) & that in turn inspires others (myself included) to keep pushing forward. The Maine brings people together through the message to always be yourself, regardless of how different you are & you are never alone. (8123 fam is there for you). There’s so much meaning in their lyrics and you can take that with you as you go on throughout life.
I’ve been a fan of The Maine since 2016 and although, I’ve only seen them live once (in 2019), this band has had such a positive impact on me.
I never would have imagined that these specific 4 numbers would mean something, not only to me, but to so many others as well. Whenever I see the numbers, 8123, I feel a sense of acceptance & belonging because those 4 numbers hold such a significant meaning. It’s so awesome to be able share a mutual love for such an amazing band through these numbers. There’s only 26 letters in the English alphabet and yet, there’s not enough words created from those letters to express this love either.
(Yes, I made the You Are Ok booklet fan thank you section and yes, I submitted an assignment in college using The Maine as an example😌✨)
Overall, I’m so grateful & thankful for this band, their music and my 8123 family. As you can see, 8.1.23 is so much bigger than today’s date. This is what 8123 means & it means so much to me😌💜
The Maine have announced 2025’s 8123 Fest.
8123 Fest makes its long-awaited return to the desert in January 2025, this time making its Mesa, Arizona debut at Mesa Amphitheater.
On the announcement, The Maine’s vocalist John O’Callaghan shares, “after what feels like forever, we’re finally getting the squad back together for another weekend of bliss in the desert. 8123 Fest is set for January ’25, in a new location with new lineups and I’m frothing at the thought of it all. So break out your light coats and low SPF, because it’s officially ON.”
This time around, the festival will run for two days - with a lineup curated by the fest’s showrunners The Maine. The band will perform on both dates - night one (January 17th) will see them play their albums American Candy and Self-Titled in full. “We’ll be celebrating the ten year anniversary of American Candy - so we’re really excited to play that live. The festival will also mark the end of our self-titled album era for us - so it only made sense to perform that in full as well,” explains drummer Pat Kirch.
The second day of the festival, January 18th, will feature a career-spanning setlist. The Maine formed in Arizona back in 2007. Since then, the band have been feverishly touring the world, putting together setlists from their nine studio albums. 8123 Fest premiered in 2017, celebrating a decade of the band and the evolution of their fanbase; fondly dubbed the 8123 Family. The festival was born as a way to bring together fans from all over - connecting them to the band's roots in Arizona.
“8123 Fest is the comicon for The Maine fans. We have so many surprises up our sleeves and news that we can’t wait to share,” continues Kirch. “We are psyched to have everyone out in the desert again for another 8123 Fest. This festival really is a celebration of the community we have built and the connection amongst the fans within it.”
The full lineup of artists performing at 8123 Fest 2025 will be announced on September 9th. The shows are all ages.
8123 Fest takes place January 17th and January 18th at Mesa Amphitheater.
Pre-sale is on now, and 2-day tickets and bundles will be on sale August 30th. The full lineup of artists performing at 8123 Fest 2025 will be announced on September 9th. The shows are all ages.

The Maine have announced a new tour.

To commemorate this anniversary, the tour will kick off in San Diego, CA on November 10th and run through mid-December hitting Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia and more before performing in Phoenix, AZ in January and Mexico City in March.
The Maine shares “We’re always so focused on the future that we rarely look back. The Sweet 16 Tour is not only a celebration of our self-titled album, but a salute to the last 16 years of our band, with a career-spanning set featuring songs from every chapter of The Maine. No matter if you’ve been here for 16 years or 16 days, we can’t wait to see you in the fall”.

After building up to the album release through teasing cryptic posts across social media, following the evolution of the band through highlights and throwbacks from each previous album’s era, The Maine’s new album The Maine (self-titled) is out now via 8123 and Photo Finish Records.
The album’s release date can also be written as 8.1.23. The significance of the date is a once in a lifetime alignment of numbers that hold a lot of meaning to the band. Originally, 8123 were the numbers on a parking garage where the band members and childhood friends would hangout growing up. Fast forward to today, and 8123 has been used in their song lyrics, is the title of their own music festival held in their desert hometown biennially, can be seen inked onto many of their fans, is the title of their own record label and also serves as the fanbase's nickname - the 8123 Family.
The Maine celebrated the album’s release day with their fans in Denver for 8123 Day where they headlined the Fillmore Auditorium with support from former tourmates Real Friends and Knuckle Puck. Fans were also virtually a part of 8123 Day, which live streamed on YouTube. The Maine will also be hosting a free signing at Zia Records today, August 7th, in Tempe, Arizona.

Thank you to @themaineband for the You Are OK era and for the Pillar livestream which is as close to a live show as we can get in 2020. Pre show, show, after party, and after party q+a, you guys really go above and beyond. Idk how to put into words how much I love this band and their music. Thanks to the crew, the people who designed the pillar app, and everyone doing lights and sound for the livestream. I haven't been this happy in awhile.
