The Boeing 747 Dreamlifter is a wide-body cargo aircraft. It is an extensively modified Boeing 747-400 that is used exclusively for transportation of large-sized components of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft components to Boeing's assembly plants from suppliers around the world. Evergreen Aviation Technologies Corporation of Taiwan was contracted to complete modifications of 747-400s into Dreamlifters in Taoyuan. The aircraft flew for the first time on September 9, 2006, in a test flight. Modification of four aircraft was completed by February 2010. The aircraft is certified to carry only essential crew with no passengers.

Working in partnership with Prisma Health, Atlas Air Worldwide and Discommon Founder Neil Ferrier, the company transported 1.5 million medical-grade face masks bound for healthcare professionals at Prisma Health in South Carolina.

Boeing 747-400 LCF (Large Cargo Freighter) Dreamlifter

Four second-hand 747-400's have been converted to 747-400 LCF aircraft, known as "Dreamlifters" due to their exclusively being used to transport parts for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The cargo hold can carry up to 65,000 cubic feet of cargo, the largest in the world, and three times the volume of a 747-400F freighter. A swing-tail allows for easy access to the cargo bay.
