All caught up now, whew. Winter 1149 is the conclusion of our campaign proper (epilogue to follow later this month), and it is made of two extra-long episodes. One is a custom Skullduggery session where our players portray Tunnel Lords of Darkheather in the earliest days of the Winter War. If you’d like to learn more, Gamesmouse Grant has a behind-the-scenes post about it on his Cohost.

The other is the war itself, and is the biggest departure from format we’ve ever done. If you’re curious about that, another behind-the-scenes post will follow shortly, once people have had more time to listen first. Winter brings back something like the Letters From Friends from past seasons, but absolutely should not be read before listening to the finale. Major spoilers, probably should not have posted those for a few days in the first place. But once you are current listening, please read Stories from the War.

Today I dug up and finished the line art for a six-year old drawing depicting (almost all of) the characters from an old Six Feats Under ( @6fu ) side game I participated in! Out front on the steps welcoming you in, you’ll encounter our top two salespeople, Debentiel (with bat) and Yves (with suspicious concoction). Behind them, Scarlett is sweeping up and George is scowling about his employees’ antics. Last but not least, if you don’t mistake him for a trash can, you can see Barnold waving hello from the safety of his barrel-chested armor while taking a break in the side alley.

We’ve got some catching up to do on this account, huh. Yet again, Famine was more ambitious than all previous seasons as we both grabbed all the outstanding plots we could grasp and pulled them together, and lifted them to the scale of the Winter War to come. I’m very proud of both patrols’ endings here as each takes a different approach to what a climactic ending is and knocks it out of the park.
