Summary: the both of you are oblivious to the face you like one another, so instead of telling each other you draw about him and he writes songs about you. One day edwin gets to see the drawing you did of him.

A/N: typing this imagine, makes me wanna go draw Edwin with some yellow hearts🤧 i May just go do that now.

You were sitting in the cafeteria of your campus, killing time for your next class to start. Chewing on the straw from your empty caprisun (a/n I do this a lot it’s a habit). Your crush walks in through the glass slide doors. Edwin. Edwin fucking honoret. You guys have had a few classes together. Mainly because your majors are vaguely different. But since art and music majors share the same building you guys bump into each other every now and then.

As far as conversations go. Just a hey? how are you? You guys have each other’s numbers but don’t text each other anymore only when it came to the projects or if one of you missed a class and needed to catch up. Sighing you turn on your headphones playing your sketching playlist. Your mind trying to escape the reality that maybe one day. You’d have a bought courage to talk to him, or maybe he would talk to you.

But that was highly impossible. He’s a very straightforward young man, and if he wanted you. He could’ve been told you.

Pulling out your needed media, you begin sketching an outline of a heart neatly not really worried about adding details to it. You mind aimlessly starts drawing Edwin, wearing a hoodie. Showing off that smile that swoon you over the third time you paid attention to it. Grabbing your color pencils you decide you would give them a try, you’ve always stuck to black and white drawings but today you were feeling good about yourself. Coloring in the minimal sketch, you start blending and coloring at the same time. Not realizing that your class was starting in a couple of minutes. You were in a trance. A love struck you were hoping would die after pouring it into your sketchbook.

After you were done perfecting it, you admired the drawing in awe, your first time using color pencils, it wasn’t a total screw up after all. Looking down at your watch you see you only have five minutes to get to your class. Hurriedly you stuff everything back in it’s rightful place. Throwing your bag on your back and speed walking to the exit. With your head slightly down trying not to look at Edwin on your way out.

But Edwin? , he was hoping you’d look at him, he wanted to catch your smile in his orbit. Your smile felt like a warm gust of wind when it was cold. Edwin watched you walking out of the cafeteria in disappointment. But he wouldn’t let it be shown to his friends. Not that he was embrassed to show his infatuation towards you. He just didn’t want to worry his friends. He is the super hyper guy in the group. Literally the mom. And if theirs something wrong with him, they deem it to be serious.

“Yo Ed why don’t you just tell her?” Zion throws a fry at his ear, making his ear feel fuzzy. Edwins disgusted by the amount of salt now deep in his ear, tilting his head to the side he laughs it off glancing back at Zion.

“Maybe because she has a boyfriend?” Edwin answers his tone is a bit unsure but broken but the truth. Or so he thought it was the truth. He had saw you with a guy two weeks ago, you guys seemed really close. Kissing your temples. Hands on your lower back. Even bought you flowers and cards. His chances with you were gone, and he regretted every second of not texting you out of fear.

“Man, I don’t think so cause the other day she was telling him to stop being her all those gifts, saying that she doesn’t like him” Zion groans as he stuffs his face with chicken nuggets.

“Mhm, I think he’s trying to make an impression on her, but she has her mind on someone else” Austin adds his two cents. Edwin silently shakes his head pondering on the information that was fed to him. If that is true then he still didn’t stand a chance. She had someone else on her mind.

Your class was over and you were hungry yet again, momentarily you had taken your sketchbook out after you finished your test, adding in details to your drawing. Rushing to the cafeteria you didn’t even think of closing the book.

Times like now. You wish you would’ve.

Walking dead into a sturdy chest, while soft hands were placed on your lower back to prevent you from falling as your book plops onto the floor.

“Slow down tazmania” the golden boy jokes, slowly he bends down to tie your shoes, which made you kinda run into him in the first place. His tatted arm stretches over to your book flipping it over on the side of the drawing. Mentally cursing yourself you close your eyes and turn your head in fear.

Your cheeks warming up your whole body in this 67 degree weather. The tint of coral painted on your face. “I...I...I can explain” you nervously stutter, but Edwin just smiles tearing the page out of your book and putting it in his binder right on the outside.

“That my crush draws really well? No doubt in my mind they don’t know that already” his sunset smile clouding over you,forgetting english was even your language at the moment. All your brain could register was static.

Your mind comes back to earth reminding you a conversation is between two people. No a brain dead person. “I’m sorry did you say your crush?” You ask almost sounding brain dead actually.

“Mhm, I’ve had a crush on you for a while, I wanted to say something but I didn’t want to break up a happy home” Edwin softly hands your book back to you smiling.

A happy home? What does he mean by that? That’s when it clicked to you. Your ex-boyfriend.

“No you’re mistaken! That was my ex, he was trying to reconcile with me, but I’ve moved on well mentally I have because I like you” your eyes locked into his. Edwin steps closer tilting your chin up to his height to layer his plump peach lips upon yours. Fusing the sweet taste of his chapstick with yours. Edwin holds your face in one of his hands deeping the kiss as he slowly tilts to the side.

Edwin has nothing but euphoria for this young woman, she made his heart thump against his rib cage with ever smile. He just couldn’t hold in the bearing feelings. He had to let them be known.

Pulling away they both feel sprung, like they’re coming down from a high. Your nose tinted in coral while his cheeks were tinted in rose. Edwin smiles just as big as his feelings for you. “You drew me in yellow hearts?” He asks making you feel shy by the sudden question, trying to hide your face in his chest, he lands his lips on your temple. “It’s beautiful bebesita, I love it”

“Yellow is my favorite color, just like the stars” you mumble into the warmth of his chest, him rubbing your back slowly with his fingertips.

“And you’re a work of art, estás preciosa” kissing your temple he walks over to a table pulling out the chair for you to sit on. Smiling you sit and watch him pull up a chair in front of you his hands finding purchase of yours rubbing sweet circles on your hands with his thumb.

“You draw me in your sketchbook and I write you a song in my notebook, ironic that we speak what we feel in our art” Edwin speaks bringing your hand up to his lips gazing your knuckles with his lips leaning soft tender kisses on them.

“You wrote a song for me?” The child tone comes out of you

“You’re not the only one putting names in yellow hearts” his smile pierced through his peachy lips.

You awoke to clunking and pounding of what sounded like your good frying pans hitting the stove at an aggressive rate. Knowing all too well what you were about to walk into once you decided to get out from under the warmth of the covers, you snuggled yourself in deeper.

“Fucking hell.”

That was the sound of your boyfriend swearing up and down, loud enough that it would probably only be another couple of minutes before Ms. Wilkinson came with her broom pounding on the ceiling. After yesterday, you really didn’t want to deal with any more confrontation; especially when it came to Dom. zzzz. zzzz. zzzz.

Your phone started freaking out on the little end table by your head. Wanting to literally just ignore what your life had become over the last week, you continued to bury yourself in the cocoon of blankets, willing yourself to just disappear for just a day. A day was really all you needed to not have to deal with, well, anything. Especially if it was just someone calling to express their condolences about your grandfather. 

zzzz. zzzz. zzzz. 

Groaning, you stretch an arm towards aggravating little device, bringing it towards your safe space. “Who the hell is texting me this early?” Squinting at the all too bright screen, you saw a number that you didn’t have saved in your contacts. But there wasn’t a preview available for the text, something that you had changed when Dom moved in because god forbid a cousin texted you something about a family event and he would freak out. 

Having to punch in your passcode, you waited for it to register, remembering all too well that you need to go in for that upgrade you had been putting off for six months. 

‘Hey, It’s Jensen - I got your number from Rita. Wanted to know when you would be free for coffee sometime?’

Your blood was buzzing as you reread the words in front of you. The pounding in your ears was beyond deafening, but the startling creak of the bedroom door swinging open had you throwing your phone under your pillow and sitting up to face man you shared a bed with. 

“Good morning beautiful!” His voice was so painfully chipper that it made the finger prints he left on your arm last night throb. 

“Mornin’”

There was a tray in his hands that he place ever so delicately in front of you, followed with by single rose in a random cup of water that he had probably picked from the porch. “I made your favorite pancakes.”

You eyed the food before you, knowing that it was far from what he thought was your favorite, but still appreciating the small gesture he was trying to make. Taking a chance, you asked what you were most curious about, “The ones with the sprinkles?”

“No,” he crossed his arms. “Banana walnut pancakes.”

“Oh, yeah, those ones are good too.”

He sighed, clearly not happy with how you were taking his effort into what he had done for you. “You don’t like it.”

“No, Dom, it’s not -”

In the seconds he had put the little tray down, you found it ripped out of your lap; the rose tipping sideways, taking the glass with it and shattering on the hardwood floor. “No, no. It’s fine - you can just have your sugary cereal like you always do.”

“Dom. I’ll eat the pancakes. I’m just not really in the mood to eat.. especially since I just woke up.”

He just shook his head, the dark brown eyes of his hardening with each tilt of his chin. “Right, right, I just slaved away for the last forty minutes or so to surprise you with a nice little breakfast. But it’s okay.”

You were really not in the mood for this.

“Dom, seriously, just give me the damn pancakes. They smell delicious!”

This time, your boyfriend completely ignored you, walking back out the door that he had literally just strolled through as a completely different man, slamming the door shut behind him. If this had been anyone else, you would have cried at the way that you had hurt his feelings, but today you just felt numb to what happened - probably because it wasn’t the first time he had a fit over something so minor.

Getting only a tad lost in your thoughts about some of the many meals that Dom had made “out of the kindness of his heart,” you momentarily forgot about the unanswered question hiding away under your pillow. Reaching your hand into your remote hiding spot, you listened to make sure there wouldn’t be another unannounced grand entrance.

Quickly you typed out your reply; ‘Can you squeeze me in today? Say a little after eleven?’

You barely had put your phone back down to get yourself ready for the day before there was another hum from your phone. Naturally, you wasted no time reading it this time.

‘Sounds perfect. I’ll meet you at our usual spot.’ 

For the first time all week, you were thrilled to get out of bed.

The usual spot just happened to be a local coffee shop called Double Shot, that the two of you had frequented throughout high school. It was just down the street from where Pops lived and had some of the best blueberry muffins you could find in the state; if you recalled far enough back they had won some type of award for their muffins, so that should just explain how amazing these bites of heaven were. No questions about it.

You could still recalled how you guys would buy the most sugar filled, blended coffee beverages when you were studying through finals in your senior year. Half the time you guys would get so loopy, you would laugh at how Jensen couldn’t roll his R’s properly when practicing for the Spanish exam.

Walking through the entrance, you were relieved to to see that the place hadn’t changed. The chairs were all still perfectly aligned with their little round tables along the side of the main wall and into random parts of the lobby; where there were big, fluffy, corner chairs that felt like a cloud. You weren’t proud to admit that you may or may not have fallen asleep in said chairs more than once, especially when you had been avoiding going home after a long day at work.

“Over here,” that calming voice rang out against the hustle and bustle of the mid-afternoon rush.

Jensen had perched himself towards the back of the cafe, more in the corner. Something about the way he was tucked away from the rest of the world both scared and excited you. “Jensen.”

He grinned, standing as you approached the little table, seeing that he had already ordered two blueberry muffins and two black cups of coffee. Catching you eyeing the spread, he gave a small chuckle. “Yeah, sorry, I wasn’t quite sure if you took your coffee the same way.”

“No,” you laughed, sitting down and pulling the chair in close enough that your knees brushed under the table. “Everything looks perfect. I, uh, actually drink it black these days, but I will never say no to one of these muffins.”

His grin grew as he followed your actions. Once you both were settled back in to your little piece of privacy did you bring your mug to your lips. While you blew on your coffee, you eyed the man sitting across from you - noticing that he had barely aged since you were seventeen. Sure, he looked older, but in the jaw and maybe even in the creases of his eyes, but everything else about him - especially that smile he always gave you was exactly the same.

“No matter where I go in the world, but nothing ever compares to these babies.”

Laughing, you pulled your own muffin closer to you, chipping off a piece from the top. “Really? That’s saying something since I’m pretty sure you’ve travelled  all over the world at this point.” 

“I see someone has been following my career,” he teased with a raised eyebrow.

You gave him a semi-embarrassed shrug. “I mean, I kinda had to.”

There was a bit of an awkward silence that washed over the two of you. Both of you sipped on your coffee and took a small nibbles from your plates before Jensen cleared his throat. “So, um, Dom.. how long have you guys been together?”

“Oh,” those print marks that were hidden under your jacket starting throbbing again. That constant reminder of your boyfriend even when he wasn’t there. “About two years now.”

“Yeah?”

You nodded. “We met at a Christmas party that one of my co-workers dragged me along too. He made a comment about my ugly sweater, saying that it wasn’t quite up to par and everything just kind of went from there.”

Another lull while Jensen nodded intently like he was really listening to what you had to say, before he leaned forward, his elbows resting on the edge of the table while he eyed you cautiously. “Can I be honest here for a moment?”

“I really doubt if I said no, it would stop you Jay.”

A tight grin teased at the corner of his lips, but the look of carefulness still evident in his eyes. “It’s just.. I feel like Dom isn’t the type of guy that you would end up with.”

While you knew that what he was trying to express was probably something of the utmost concern, it still lit a fire in your belly. With narrowed eyes and gritted teeth, you asked your next question carefully. “And who do you propose that I’m supposed to end up with Jensen? Someone like you?”

He didn’t miss a beat. “Well, yeah.”

I don’t really understand what this gen likes so much about random maze areas, but I think most Pokemon games are into that on some level. It’s just annoying right now because Sun and Moon spoiled me. HMs are obnoxious.

The number of trainers on Victory Road who have history with Team Plasma one way or another is really satisfying. In this sequel game, the events of the game preceding it had an impact on NPCs. Delightful.

It’s level 55, and Russell only has four pokemon, so this should be relatively okay. Bouffalant comes out as a result of Unfezant’s U-turn. Nessy deals with it, but is in the orange. Simisage is next, go DAMIAN. Samurott following, go Vertex. Samurott is level 57. Stormy goes in to finish the Unfezant since Stormy has a Quick Attack replacement.

And that’s the fight! Yay!

So Marshal’s first pokemon is a level 56 Throh. At the risk of feeling very embarrassed in a few moments, I think I might be slightly overleveled for this. Uh. Stormy, use Zen Headbutt?

Mienshao is up next, and for that one I think I want to switch into Photon. Or do I. See, I can’t remember if Bug is super effective against Stormy or not. Steel clears up a lot of the Pyschic weaknesses, but I am not allowed to look things up, and gaaah.

Stormy can survive one hit of anything, probably. In Stormy stays.

One Zen Headbutt later, Stormy is also staying in to fight Conkeldurr. It’s level 58. It uses Bulk Up (yes, it lived. its berry even brought it back to orange!). Stormy uses Zen Headbutt. Conkeldurr is no more.

Next and last is Sawk. Let me guess. This is still the Sturdy version. It is. It uses Payback, which does a pathetic amount of damage. Stormy uses Bullet Punch to simplify the future, and Marshal Full Restores Sawk. Stormy uses Zen Headbutt.

...This is sincerely awkward. I thought they’d be in their 60s. And maybe they are for the second round, but I’ve spent so many hours in this gen that my plan is to call it after beating the Elite Four. So uh. This is my final battle.

Shauntal sends out a level 56 Cofagrigus. Caspet uses Shadow Ball. She’s about to send out a Golurk, and to keep from being too arrogant, I switch to Nessy. Nessy uses Surf. Bye Golurk. She sends out a Drifblim, I go back to Caspet. Caspet uses Shadow Ball. Nessy gets sent back in against a level 58 Chandelure. Nessy uses Surf.

Nessy’s level 67 now.

Stormy, you can sit in front for this next one.

Grimsley sends out his level 56 Liepard. It uses Fake Out. Then it uses Night Slash. Stormy is at 156 HP out of 192. Stormy uses Hammer Arm. Liepard faints. Nessy comes out to handle the Krookodile. It uses Earthquake. Nessy uses Surf. One is left standing.

Scrafty is next.

I don’t have anything I’m super comfortable having out against it, so I think I’m going to go for an odder pick and have Vertex fight it. If nothing else, yay Intimidate.

Vertex uses Spark. Scrafty uses Rock Tomb. Vertex’s Speed is lowered, but Scrafty’s down to half health. Vertex uses Spark. Ugh, a sliver of health left. Scrafty uses Rock Tomb again and Speed is lowered again. Grimsely is going to use a Full Restore, so I’m going to use Charge.

Scrafty uses Crunch.

A moment of fear for Vertex. Yike.

Charged Spark takes out Scrafty, though.

Grimsley’s final pokemon is Bisharp. DAMIAN, this is your time.

I think I’ll put Caspet up front. She’s faster than anything, and does enough damage that unless something goes very wrong, she has an excellent chance of just nailing the first thing.

Iris might have a Hydreigon. Likely not first, but I do not need to ever give a Hydreigon extra moves. So.

So all of the tension went out of order for this one. My starter died early, I was massively overleveled for the Elite Four and didn’t even expect to be fighting them this round, then I was, and meaningful deaths weren’t that common or devastating.

But I had fun, and I hope the two of you who sometimes read these enjoyed the adventure. I’m done with this gen for like. at least a year, but I have decided to do a Nuzlocke of either Fire Red or Leaf Green. I don’t know which, but I’m not going to Randomize the run. I am going to have one very specific rule changing things up to make going back to the gen three version of gen one hopefully very worth it, but yeah.

I don’t know when that will be happening, but I seem to enjoy having one of these going. Plus, I think the rule changes I have in mind would make my posts less meandering.

Pairings: Dean Winchester x fem!reader, Sam Winchester x Jess, Castiel, Meg

“What’s in it for me?” Dean asked his brother and best friend, not looking up from the book. Sam and Castiel had been trying for days to convince Dean to ask you out. “The joy of knowing you helped your best friend?” Dean looked up at Sam with an arched brow. “Come on, Dean. One date so that Cas can ask out her sister. He really likes Meg but she won’t date anyone as long as her sister’s single.”

               "What’s wrong with her? The sister I mean.“ Dean had no interest in dating you. He’d seen you around, but you’d always seemed so aloof. So…cold. "She’s, well, she’s got a bit of a temper and she hates guys that sleep around.” Dean let out a laugh, “So you come to the school’s playboy?” Dean knew his reputation very well, although it was only about half true. He had gotten around when he was a freshman, but his party days were pretty much over.

               "Dean, please?“ Castiel asked, giving Dean the puppy eyes. Dean glared at his best friend before looking to Sam and seeing him doing the same. He groaned and agreed. "Fine, but you owe me. Big time. I’ll tell you what I want after I talk to the chick. I gotta see what I have to work with.” With that, Dean got up and left the library. So much for studying.

               The elder Winchester made his way to the school courtyard. He’d seen you there most often. Bingo. You were sitting by yourself at a table off to the side. You were reading and jotting notes, as you often were. Letting himself on more small groan, Dean approached your table. “Hey there, sweetheart,” he greeted with a charming smile. You barely glanced up. “No, thank you.” Dean frowned. “What?”

               You set your pen down and faced him. “No, thank you. I’m not looking for you, Mr. Right. I don’t have a band-aid for your scraped knee nor do I have a map for you getting lost in my eyes.” Dean blinked in surprise. You had just thrown some of his cheesiest pick-up lines back at him and he hadn’t even talked to you yet. “I’ve heard all your pick-ups, Winchester. You’ve used them on many women at this school. I figured when your brother and his friend started hanging out with my sister, it wouldn’t be long before you finally realized I existed. Well, let me save you some time. I’m not interested.” You slammed your book closed and got up from the table leaving a speechless Dean behind.

               Dean watched you go. This was going to be harder than he thought. Sam and Castiel definitely owed him big time. However, Dean wasn’t one to back down from a challenge either. A small grin appeared on his face. Challenge accepted.

               For the next several weeks, Dean tried his best to get your attention, only to irritate you further. “This isn’t working, Sam. Forget it.” Sam arched a brow at his brother. “The great Dean Winchester giving up on a conquest? It can’t be that bad.” Dean gave his brother a deadpan look. “Yes, it can. Y/N Macleod cannot be conquered. She’s a frickin’ puzzle, man.” Sam smiled. “You actually like her.”

               Dean scoffed. “Get real, Sammy. I’m doing Cas a favor.” Sam shook his head. “A favor I’m paying for. Which reminds me, you still haven’t told me what you want.” Dean shrugged. “I haven’t decided yet. Believe me, I will let you know.” Sam sighed but then glanced across the courtyard. “Look alive. Here comes your girlfriend now.”

               Dean looked up and saw you approaching the building. “Wish me luck.” He got up and walked over to you, hands in his pockets. “You never give up, do you?” you asked him, finally giving him the eye contact he’d been trying to get all along. “Nope. Come on. What’s one date?” You rolled your eyes. “With you? The difference between delightfully ignorant bliss and a broken heart.”

               Dean walked next to you inside in silence for a moment. “Look, I know what people say about me. I’m not gonna deny the rumors, at least not all of them. But I will tell you that I’m not that guy anymore. Give me a chance? Please?” You stopped walking with a deep sigh. “Dean, all guys say that.” Dean shrugged slightly. “I know.” You must have seen something in his expression because you suddenly gave him a soft nod. “Alright. One chance. Pick me up at 7.” Dean beamed and quickly agreed before handing you his phone to put your number in. After that, you turned and walked to your first class and Dean turned back to Sam, giving him a thumbs up.

               Dean picked you up at 7 on the dot. “I really hope you’re hungry,” he said as he lead you out to his car. You gave a low whistle. “She’s a beauty. ‘67?” Once again, you’d surprised the man. “Uh, yeah. You know cars?” You moved your head from side-to-side in a “kind of” motion. “I know a little. My dad insisted that we have at least the basic knowledge of cars before he would by us our first.” Dean opened the door for you before running around to the driver’s side.

               Dean drove you to this cute little diner. Not what you expected from the guy. “Is this alright?” You smiled. “Yeah. It’s nice.” Dean grinned and got out of the car. You barely had your hand on the door handle before it opened. Dean offered you an arm. “My lady?” You could fight your giggle as you took it and let him lead you into the diner.

               "Dean! I didn’t expect to see you here tonight!“a friendly looking blonde greeted. You instantly felt small next to her. She was gorgeous and probably one of Dean’s old flings. Dean smiled at her. "Hey, Jess.” Jess motioned to a booth and came around the counter with menus. “Hi. I’m Jess,” she said to you, extending her hand. Slowly, you took it and shook it. “Y/N.”

               Jess talked for a couple minutes before taking your drink order and going back behind the counter. “Old girlfriend?” you asked Dean as soon as she was out of earshot. Dean’s eyes widened and you could really see the green in them. “No. Jess is Sam’s girlfriend. I think he’s gonna marry her one day.” You felt yourself flush at your jump to the wrong conclusion.“Look, Y/N I meant it when I said I’ve changed.”

               For the rest of the time at the table, the two of you actually talked, getting to know one another. Dean wasn’t as bad as you originally thought. True, he was a major flirt, but he was also genuinely sweet and charming. He was really intelligent too, although he didn’t seem to think so. He was going to school to be a mechanic and help in his dad’s garage. That was how he’d ended up with the Impala in the parking lot. “I fixed her up myself and when I was done, Dad gave her to me as a gift.” You smiled. Dean also realized that his first impressions of you had been wrong too.

               You weren’t cold at all. You kept your guard up because you’d been hurt before. You’d had a boyfriend who treated you poorly. That was why you didn’t really trust Dean. You were also dedicated to your studies, but you were a business major. Being the older daughter, your father wanted you to take over his business. You had a great sense of humor.

               Jess came back to the table. “Here, Dean. Your favorite.” She slide a piece of pie in front of both of you. “Thanks, Jess. You should just go ahead and bring me a second piece to take home.” Jess giggled and nodded. “Before I dig in, I have to hit the bathroom. I’ll be back in a minute.” Dean slid out of the booth and Jess slid in.

               "He likes you.“ Your brows furrowed and she sighed happily. "Dean always comes in here alone. Even when he was dating a new girl every week, he’d come here alone or with Sam and Cas. He’d enjoy his pie and then leave. He always takes his dates to the fancier places because this place is his sanctuary. His little getaway. Him bringing you here tells me that he really likes you.” Jess got up, leaving you to your thoughts.

               Dean came back a minute later and you were still staring off into space. “Everything okay?” You came back to reality and smiled. “Yeah. Everything’s great.” Dean nodded and dug into his pie with vigor. You’d never seen a man enjoy pie so much. His cheeks were full when he looked up at you. “What?” You giggled  at the crumbs of pie crust and filling all over his face. “You’re a mess, Dean Winchester.” He hummed in agreement before shoveling another bite into his mouth.

               Your date ended on a high note. Dean walked you back to your dorm, hand-in-hand. “I actually had a really good time tonight, Dean. Thank you.” Dean chuckled and pouted playfully. “Did you doubt me?” You joined in his laughter. “In all seriousness, I did too. Could we do this again?” You bit your lip and nodded. “I’d like that.” You reached the door of your dorm room and Dean leaned in and kissed your cheek. “See you tomorrow?” You nodded and entered your room.

*time skip*

               You and Dean went on several dates over the next couple of months and Dean realized that he was actually falling for you. You weren’t like all the other girls he’d been with before. Yes, you were stunning like they were, but your beauty wasn’t just skin deep. He didn’t want to stop seeing you. He was even beginning to regret that he hadn’t asked you out before. He felt even more guilty about the fact that Sam was still bugging him about repaying him for the favor.

               Dean was sitting at table waiting for you when Castiel approached him. “Dean.” Dean glanced at his best friend. “The deal is off.” Dean’s neutral expression turned to one of confusion. “What?” Castiel took his hands out the pockets of the trench coat he always wore. “I said the deal is off. Meg never wanted to go out with me. You don’t have to date Y/N anymore. Sam and I will make sure to hold up our end of the bargain, but you don’t have to pretend to like Y/N anymore.”

               "You were just pretending?“ a soft voice spoke up and Dean froze. He turned to find you standing there, staring at him with wide, watery eyes. "I fell for it. I fell for it all. I can’t believe I thought you’d changed. Go to Hell, Dean Winchester.” You turned and stomped away. “Y/N!” You didn’t stop. You made your way to your car, no longer in the mood to go to class.

               You made it to the car before you felt someone grab your upper arm. “Let me go!” you cried. “Please, just listen to me, Y/N.” Dean could see the rage on your face. “Why should I?!” He let you go and sighed. “Please, Y/N.” You shook your head and opened your car door. “So you can tell me more lies? No, thank you.” Dean felt himself flinch as you threw the very first words you’d said at him again. You climbed in the car. Dean backed away, letting you drive off, his heart sinking in his chest.

               For the next few days, Dean walked around in a haze. He missed you. Whenever he saw you around campus, he felt even worse. Unlike most women, who would have probably looked terrible after a break up, you had decided not to wallow in your misery. You looked incredible, as if to spite Dean. When you saw him, you just ignored him, which just served to make Dean feel ten times worse.

               "Dude, you’re miserable,“ Sam said to him one day. Dean didn’t deny it. "Just go talk to her. Apologize.” Dean groaned loudly. “Don’t think I’ve tried, Sammy?! I have tried everything I could think of to get her to talk to me. I messed up too bad this time.” Sam huffed and got up. Ignoring Dean’s calls for him, Sam went in search of you. He found you leaving the library.

               "I need to talk to you, Y/N,“ Sam said, catching you off guard. "Why?” Sam gently took your arm and lead you to an empty room. “Dean is miserable.” You scoffed although inside you were still upset. “Dean brought it on himself.” Sam shook his head. “No, he really didn’t. Cas and I did.” Your brows furrowed. You had only heard part of Castiel’s and Dean’s conversation.

               Sam sighed heavily. “Look, Cas has liked your sister for a while now, but he knew that, as long as you were single, Meg wouldn’t go out with him. I have Jess so we asked Dean to ask you out. For Cas’ sake. Then, when you and Dean started hitting it off, we didn’t believe it was real. When months went by and Cas still had no luck with your sister, he felt bad for having Dean continue the charade. We didn’t realize that Dean had real feelings for you.”

               You didn’t answer for a second. Then, you asked, “Why didn’t he just tell me?” Sam chuckled softly. “Because that’s Dean. He doesn’t handle deep feelings well. And it would be a huge shot to his ego for anyone to know that he made a bargain to go out with the girl that he ended up falling in love with.” Sam gave your shoulder a little squeeze. “What can I do?” you asked. “Talk to him.” You nodded and Sam left the room.

               You walked out a few minutes later, eyes scanning everywhere for Dean. You found him leaning against his precious Impala, holding a box in his hands. You made your way over there, the words you wanted to say bouncing around in your head like children who’d had too much sugar. “Dean,” you breathed when you finally reached him.

               "Y-Y/N? I am so sorry. I should have just told you. Actually, I never should have agreed in the first place. I should have asked you out on my own.“ Dean handed the box over to you. "I, uh, got you this as a something of an apology.” You lifted the lid to find a slice of Dean’s favorite by from the diner. You knew how much he loved his pie and here he was, offering it to you. All the words you’d planned to say flew out of your head.

               You took the pie and set it on the roof of the car. You wrapped your arms around his neck and kissed him. It was your first actual kiss with the man and boy was the wait worth it. You pulled back and said, “You can’t just get me a piece of pie every time you mess up.” Dean chuckled. “I know, but I’m sure I can find other ways.” He kissed the tip of your nose before moving to your lips again.

3 - Who do you want to be with right now? Hmmmmm, my bestie is in Spain with his hubby. I wouldn’t mind hanging with him for a bit.

4 - What sports do you play? HAHAHAHAHAHA!  Look, I love sports.  I will watch anything sport related.  However, I cannot play a sport to save my life.  I have no athletic ability.  I can be loud and loyal though!

5 - Who is the first person in your contacts? The number I have to call if I need a sub for my classroom.

6 - What is your favorite song as of the moment? Strip That Down and Slow Hands are tied for 1st.

Settle in.  Two years ago my best friend of over 20 years ended our friendship.  She had been going through a difficult time and decided that I had not been supportive enough during her time of need.  One day I called her and she didn’t answer.  A few minutes later I got a text telling me that she was too hurt by my behavior and that she didn’t want to speak to me.  I read the text once and deleted it.  Then I erased her contact info and blocked her on all social media sites.  It was without a doubt one of the hardest things I have ever done.  It went against every instinct I had.  I wanted to pick up the phone and apologize and try to soothe things over.  But I knew that I couldn’t. Not without me regretting it down the line.  I miss her every day.  She would’ve loved my new found devotion to One Direction.  She would’ve loved going to see Harry with me, she would’ve helped me get tickets to the Oct. concert in Atlanta. She wouId’ve gone to see Niall, and Louis and Liam. I still see something or hear something and pick up my phone to call her before I remember that I can’t. It still sucks.  I miss her.
