RIP SEAN CONNERY
1930-2020
Tumblr media
Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish-born actor and producer. He is best known as the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films between 1962 and 1983. Connery retired from acting in 2006. His achievements include one Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards and three Golden Globes. He received a lifetime achievement award with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in 2000 for services to film drama.
Connery and Lucille Ball never acted opposite one another, but did appear together on two television award shows towards the end of her life.
Tumblr media
In 1988, both were in attendance for “AFI Salutes Jack Lemmon.” Host Julie Andrews introduced film clips from Lemmon’s most acclaimed films. The audience is full of celebrity friends, including including Connery and Ball, although neither takes the stage or speaks.

Connery and Ball were both presenters at what would be her final TV appearance, the “The 61st Annual Academy Awards” on March 29, 1989. Connery presented alongside Michael Caine and was photographed with Roger Moore, who also played James Bond.

Ball presented with Bob Hope. She died three weeks later.

In a 1966 episode of “The Lucy Show,” steaming open a sealed envelope, Lucy says she feels just like James Bond. In mid-1966, Ian Fleming’s dashing British spy was being played on screen by Sean Connery. Thunderball was released in December 1965.
Tumblr media
Sean married actress Diane Cilento in 1962 and they had a son, Jason Connery, born on January 11, 1963. The couple separated in February 1971 and divorced 2½ years later. In 1975 he married Micheline Roquebrune (above) and has three stepchildren through his marriage to Micheline. He is also a grandfather. His son, Jason and his ex-wife, actress Mia Sara had a son, Dashiell Connery, in 1997.
Tumblr media
Connery died in his sleep on October 31, 2020, aged 90, at his home in Nassau in the Bahamas. His son Jason stated that he "had been unwell for some time".

2020 is the 15th anniversary of the BAFTA having the Rising Star Award which is voted for by the public. Starting in 2006 known as the Orange Rising Star Award and then since 2013 the EE Rising Star Award, this is due to sponsorship and pretty much helps the award with publicity and getting the public involved in the voting for the winner.
SELFIE BOOTH trying out the “Selfie Booth” during dinner at Grosvenor House Hotel after the EE British Academy Film Awards on Sunday 16 February 2014.
Over the years as I have become more and more obsessed with films I know more about the nominees which in all honesty makes me feel very special and at times very geeky. Which I personally love and am very proud of, I felt coming up to the 15th year it was very important to take a look back at not only the winners from each year but the other nominees as well. The list is very impressive and it feels as though someone at BAFTA can certainly pick out rising stars in the best possible way, the nominees are chosen regardless of gender, nationality and whether they have made a breakthrough in television, film or both.
I guess at times the outcome could be influenced by the fan base which that actor has and if they are in a franchise they will probably be more known than others. But the important thing I want to look at here is the high level of not only winners but nominees and looking at where so many of them are now, so even being picked as the five can certainly be seen as a massive positive.

Now you have had a lovely recap on not only the winners each year but the nominees as well it really is great to see that whoever BAFTA have working on this award they really do find the breakouts very early on. The prime example of this is Florence Pugh, her breakout role was Lady Macbeth yet for some reason not many people seem to have seen that film or remember it so saying 2019 was her breakout year which is very wrong in my opinion! So going forward pay close attention to this award and it will help highlight some very talented young performers that you can find current film or tv work and then also looking out for them in the future as well.
My love for film is huge and I love an award which appreciates fans views as well, as I mentioned earlier if the breakout is in a franchise it really could help with winning the vote. The nominees are all very impressive and some years it is now amazing to see how far some of these amazingly talented actors have come, the big majority still putting in great performances to this day in film, tv and even on stage as well.
I guess as well as looking at the history of this award it is also a small way of saying thank you to Orange and now EE for sponsoring this award for BAFTA. For this years nominees only Kelvin Harrison Jr and Micheal Ward are the two that I have not seen very many things for, so I am happy with the other three being rather well known to myself. I see that as reward for watching a love of film/tv. It does also make me want to catch up with the current work for those two though.
Do you pay much attention to this award? If not, I really would recommend that going forward you see the amazing talented young actors that will be looking to push forward in the next few years and have promising careers. It is certainly something I have been paying a lot more attention to in the past couple of years.

Woody Allen and Scarlett Johnson
A few days ago, it was particularly interesting to see a point of entertainment news, involving the famous Jewish actress, Scarlett Johansson and the director, Woody Allen. The passage of the matter was that Scarlett Johansson supported Woody Allen in a previous interview, and said he liked him and believed him, and said, "He has been so naive for many years," he said. "This has led to the strong displeasure of Woody Allen's daughter, and to his name, Scarlett Johansson. As early as more than 20 years ago, the story of the well-known director, Woody Allen, was covered with the report. The case, however, has not been fully resolved today, not only Continuous diffusion, but also triggered more chain reactions. But the matter is not over. Dylan, who grew up, claimed to have suffered a great deal of harm and sided with his adoptive mother, Mya. If anyone supports his adoptive father, whether family or outsider, it is unacceptable for Dylan to be reasonable. When it comes to Woody Allen's problems over the past two years, Scarlett Johnson thinks he's been pushed to the top of the storm and has a lot to do with the Metoo movement: "it's really hard right now, because now people are furious about it, and they can actually understand how people feel." Since the beginning of the Metoo movement, my sister has not said her point of view in public. In an interview with Hollywood reporter last week, she said she liked Woodie Allen very much and would work with him in the future.
Tumblr media
When it comes to Scarlett Johnson, I'm afraid you're thinking of the black widow in sexy leather. Scarlett Johnson, born on November 22, 1984 in New York, USA, American actress and singer. In 1994, he starred in the film's debut, the prodigal son bodyguard. In 1996, he starred in the drama "Manny and Luo," for which she was nominated for best actress at the 12th Independent Spirit Award. In 1998, she was nominated for best supporting actress at the box office bomb for starring in the love film "Horse language". In 2003, he starred in the drama "lost Tokyo," and won 57 for the film. The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Award Film Award-Best Actress Award. In 2004, starring in the love biographical film "Girl with Pearl earrings," won the 61st American Film and Television Golden Globe Award Film-plot Best Actress nomination. In 2005, starred in the thriller love film "Competition Point." As a result, he was nominated for Best supporting Actress in the 63rd Golden Globe Film Awards for American Film and Television. On August 15, 2008, the love comedy Barcelona at midnight was released. In 2009, he starred in the stage play's debut, "A glance on the Bridge," and won the 64th Tony Award for the show. Drama Best supporting Actress Award . Starring in Marvel Film Iron Man 2 in 2010. In 2012, she starred in the Avengers League. In 2013, she won the Best Actress Award at the 8th Rome International Film Festival for her voice. On February 28, 2014, she won the 39th French Film Caesar Award . In 2016, starring in Captain America 3: civil War. 2018, starring Avengers 3: infinite War. Won the 44th people's Choice Award for the film of the year Award. In August 2019, Forbes published the 2019 list of the world's highest-paid actresses, with Scarlett at the top of the list.
Tumblr media
And Scarlett Johnson worshiped Woody Allen, an excellent, talented director in the United States. Woody Allen, born on December 1, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York, is an American director, screenwriter, actor, and honorary member of the American Academy of Arts and Arts. In 1964, he made his own comedy, "how's the Cat?" and officially entered the entertainment industry. In 1969, he directed his own comedy crime film, "get money and run." in 1973, he wrote and directed his own science fiction comedy, "Science City of Fool." in 1977, Won the 50th Olympic Games with the love comedy Anne Hall.In 2005, he was nominated for best film at the 2nd Guangzhou International Film Festival. In 2005, he was nominated for the 63rd American Film and Television Golden Globe Film Award for Best Director. In 2008, the love film Barcelona at midnight won the Golden Globe Film-Musical Comedic Best Picture of the United States. In 2011, He was nominated for the 84th Academy Award for Best Director for the comedy Paris at midnight. In 2014, he directed the comedy "Magic in the Moonlight." in 2016, he directed from the comedy "six critical events." The play is Woody Allen's first TV series. In 2017, he directed the Ferris Wheel.
Tumblr media
When it comes to these two people, perhaps the most common thing they have in common is to win the prize and get soft hands. Woody Allen's refusal to receive the award has long been commonplace. He has won 23 Oscars, four awards, 13 Golden Globe nominations and two awards, but without exception has not appeared to receive the award. Such a brilliant and highly personalized director will inevitably be regarded as an idol by many people and will inevitably be worshipped. Although Woody Allen is now embroiled in a sexual assault scandal, his talent can be recognized and the truth will come to light one day.
Tumblr media
When it comes to Scarlett Johnson, the most talked about is her personal life. As we all know, the actress's personal life is rich and colorful, with the news flying all over the sky. However, God gave her a beautiful face, and his own hard work, coupled with good circumstances and acting skills, it is also natural to become the four biggest flowers in Hollywood.
Tumblr media
Let's look forward to these two still bringing us wonderful movies this year.

This is What Taylor Swift Skipped the 2019 Grammys For
Tumblr media
When you watched the 61st Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, you'll have been questioning the place on this planet Taylor Swift was. However along with her most up-to-date album, Status, receiving just one nomination from the Recording Academy, the frequent Grammy award collector opted to attend the official BAFTAs after-party along with her boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, somewhat than make an look at Los Angeles’ STAPLES Heart. Alwyn stars alongside Olivia Colman, Rachel Weisz and Emma Stone in The Favorite, which took house seven awards at Sunday’s BAFTAs ceremony, together with Excellent British Movie. Swift didn't attend the ceremony itself, however confirmed up in a powder blue Stella McCartney gown and matching coat to assist Alwyn on the post-awards dinner. “AHHHHH @thefavouritemovie just won 7 @baftaawards !!!” Swift captioned an Instagram of herself posing in the sleeveless gown. “Bout to go give some high fives – thanks @stellamccartney for this dressss.” Swift is at present in London filming the forthcoming film adaptation of the musical Cats. Artists Who Are Skipping The 61st Annual Grammys Betches
This Sunday is the 61st annual Grammys, otherwise known as white privilege in action “Music’s biggest night.” That’s a nice tagline, but this year especially, I’m not sure it’s true. That’s because some of the biggest stars in music won’t even be there. Umm, come again? While confirmed performers for the 61st annual Grammys include Cardi B, Travis Scott, and Shawn Mendes, the roster falls short of what you might expect. First of all, many of our favorite artists aren’t performing (and we’ll get to who in a minute). What’s worse, some of the most popular artists of the year got snubbed in the major categories, so they’re not even wasting their time to show up at all. Honestly, relatable. Others have different excuses, but either way, the Grammys will be a little lacking in star power this year. Here’s who you won’t be seeing on the Grammys red carpet this year.
Ariana Grande
Earlier this week, Ariana Grande made big news when she pulled out of the performance roster for the 61st annual Grammys. She wanted to perform “7 rings,” but the producers said she could only do it in a medley with another song of their choosing. Ari wasn’t happy about this, so she decided to not do the show. This is really not great for the Grammys, especially considering they’ve been using Ariana’s face on billboards to advertise the show. Awkwardddd. Honestly, Ariana Grande is the biggest star in the world right now, so they should have just let her do literally whatever she wants. You really can’t discuss music in 2018 without spending at least 5 minutes on “thank u, next”.
Bradley Cooper
Despite “Shallow” being nominated for four Grammy awards, Bradley Cooper won’t be in attendance. Instead, he’ll be in London at the British Academy Film Awards, or BAFTAs, which are basically the British version of the Oscars. This makes sense, because A Star Is Born is nominated for seven awards, and Bradley is up for both Best Actor and Best Director. It seems like a pretty big scheduling f*ckup that both of these award shows are on the same night, but I guess there’s usually not much overlap in the nominees. Shockingly, Lady Gaga is separating herself from Bradley Cooper for a night, as she will be performing at the Grammys. There can be 100 people in a room, but what happens when the one person who believes in you isn’t one of them?
Taylor Swift
Apparently the BAFTAs are this year’s hottest excuse for missing the Grammys this year, because Taylor Swift is going to be across the pond too. After missing out on nominations in the major Grammy categories this year, even though it feels like Reputation came out three years ago, Taylor decided to go to the BAFTAs with her man Joe Alwyn instead. This is actually kind of a big deal, considering how hard the Grammys have kissed Taylor’s ass in the past. Also, she and Joe have rarely appeared in public before, so she’s sending a message that things are serious between them. I won’t pretend I’m sad about her absence, but I am sad that I won’t get another chance to roast Reputation. Alexa, play “Look What You Made Me Do”.
Nicki Minaj
Cardi B is nominated for five awards at this year’s Grammys, but her biggest rival, Nicki Minaj, didn’t manage to get a single one. That’s gotta hurt. Nicki might not be at the top of her game right now, but she did release a new album in August, so this snub had to feel like a slap in the face. Or, more accurately, a shoe to the head. Nicki and Cardi seem to have cooled their feud in the last couple months, but if Cardi walks away a big winner on Sunday night, I have a feeling that Nicki Minaj will have a hard time resisting the urge to tweet. Hold onto your Louboutins, because this could get interesting.
Drake
So far this year, we haven’t heard anything about whether Drake is going to the Grammys. Based on his seven nominations, you’d think he’d be first on the list, but he actually hasn’t attended the Grammys since 2013. He’s skipped out on four years when he was nominated for multiple awards, including two years ago, when “Hotline Bling” won two awards. In the past, he’s been openly critical about the Grammys’ treatment of rap artists, including not showing the hip-hop categories on the TV broadcast, so his absence makes sense. Drake could decide at the last minute to show up this weekend, but I wouldn’t put money on it. I feel like 2019 is not the year anybody is giving up on the issues they care about.
With no nominations in major categories this year, other stars likely to skip this year’s Grammys include Beyoncé and Jay-Z and Kanye West. Honestly, why would Kanye even want to go if he wouldn’t get the chance to mess with Taylor Swift? And Beyoncé’s joint album with Jay-Z only got nominated in two minor categories, so it’s probably not even worth them getting a babysitter. Hopefully the Grammys will still be an exciting show, but it’s not looking great. Cardi B and Lady Gaga, please don’t let us down. If nothing else, at least Kylie Jenner might be there to cheer on Travis Scott? Wow, this is bleak.

As of January 27
Nominated in the Oscars 2017, Loving marriage premieres at the National Cineteca
The American period film Jeff Nichols tells the story of a controversial interracial couple who faced segregationist laws of their time
"The crime of being married" was the headline of LIFE magazine in one of its 1966 issues, where the story of Mildred and Richard Loving was first published, who faced criminal charges for marriage because of the different racial origin of each. In the hands of filmmaker Jeff Nichols, the controversy is dramatized in The Loving Marriage (Loving, 2016), a film that will be part of the National Cineteca billboard from January 27 in Room 3 Fernando de Fuentes, after his Exhibition at the 61st International Film Festival.
The struggle the duo went through in defense of their union paved the way for the abolition of segregationist laws prohibiting interracial marriages in the United States. In spite of the context, the director moved away from the judicial drama to focus on the intimacy of the couple. The story of the Loving is one of the purest in history, with a capital letter from the United States; Had to get to the heart of the problem and the best way was showing the characters as they were. "
The case of this marriage had already become popular in her country thanks to the documentary The Loving Story (2011), which Nancy Buirski made for HBO and which served as inspiration for Jeff's tape, who during an interview for the newspaper El País Joked about the mistake he made in allowing his wife to see the documentary, as she assured him that if he did not film their story, he would demand a divorce.
With such an intimate and human history, it was essential to find the actors who could offer a faithful vision of the couple. According to Nichols, he chose Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga not only for their great quality, but for the fact that they are of different origins to the people they play, forcing them to change their accent and helping them to get right into the story .
Leaving aside the secondary elements to the story, the filmmaker filmed a subtle and meditative work (described by himself and the protagonists), whose transcendence falls on the performance of Negga and Edgerton, as well as the realism embodied in photography Of Adam Stone, who took advantage of the natural stages of the state of Virginia.
The Loving couple had great acceptance at the Cannes Film Festival and immediately received positive reviews from critics. Robbie Collin of the British newspaper The Telegraph said the film "is short on grandiloquence and hindsight, and great on tenderness and honor, and carefully reckons the historical record."
Recently, Ruth Negga was nominated for Academy Awards in the category of Best Actress for her portrayal of Mildred Loving. The film also won the Producer's Guild of America's Stanley Kramer Award this year. Born in Arkansas, Jeff Nichols has emerged as one of the most important independent filmmakers of the moment in North America. His second feature, Take Shelter (2011), also appeared in
