E-sims for Gaza:
www.disabilityvisibilityproject.com/2023/12/25/crips-for-esims-for-gaza/
Palestinians are using donated eSIM cards to stay in touch with the outside world (Jan 2024, NBC News)
Many of the eSIMs are donated by activists who collect them from donors around the world. Mirna El Helbawi, a 31-year-old Egyptian writer who runs a project called Connecting Gaza, said she has distributed more than 100,000 eSIMs since the war began. www.instagram.com/mirna_elhelbawi
She and other activists use Instagram and X to solicit donors from around the world to purchase eSIMs from international phone carriers. They then pass them to a system of what El Helbawi calls “human routers” across Gaza with functioning eSIMs who can set up their phones as Wi-Fi hot spots to share additional eSIMs with others.

Internet blackouts as weapon (WIRED)
On October 27, Israel reportedly imposed a full internet shutdown in the area, cutting off the last remaining connectivity for about 34 hours as its troops moved into the Gaza Strip. After what’s left of Gaza’s internet access was restored—data shows it stands at around 15 percent or less of usual connectivity—the area has suffered two other, similar connectivity blackouts. The most recent lasted for about 15 hours on Sunday as Israel was carrying out an intense operation to cut off Gaza City in the north from southern Gaza Throughout the Gaza Strip, there are around a dozen internet service providers and cell phone companies that get people online—although cell networks only use 2G technologies, as opposed to the faster 3G, 4G, and 5G connections available across much of Israel. These companies are heavily reliant on Israeli infrastructure to connect to the global internet, with open internet advocacy nonprofit the Internet Society classing Palestine as having “poor” connections to the wider internet. Since the start of the war, mobile and internet providers’ offices, cables, and cell towers have been destroyed. Many are now totally offline.

Lesson learned the hard way.
Ang lala ng nangyari kanina! Nakakaloka. Hindi ako makamove on.
So magkano na di ba?!
Ayos, madami pa yung no expiry data ko for my disposal. Nagtransfer ako ng mga videos kanina from laptop to gdrive kasi medyo naglilinis na ako ng laptop just in case na mag-upgrade na ako anytime soon biglang nag-eerror yung upload ko. Huhu ayun na nga, I found out na hindi pala 5G ready tong area namin so meaning yung unli ko na 799 is not going to work. All in all po, 3345 yung nagastos ko sa load. Bukod pa yan sa dito router with sim na binili ko nung nakaraang buwan. Ang sarap magsabi ng masamang mga words. Kaya kailangan ko ikwento to kasi baka hindi ako makatulog sa sobrang inis at frustation. Nakakaiyak grabe.

(2024-11-24 image ©everything RF). There is evidence that more people are using 5G in place of fixed landline broadband.
In the UK we have been installing fibre up and down our streets either by digging up the pavement or using poles. The former have made a mess of many pavements and is expensive. The latter is being used more and more now with many many complaints about the siting of these poles. I look at the poles in my area, look at the state, the lean, and thin that these will not last. So why not use 5G. Now there will be many who will complain about the siting of 5G masts, but the UK does need these anyway to get the best (or at least some benefit) for new digital communications.
If you live in a 5G area, especially an area with 5GSA, then you will be able to get broadband through FWA of well over 100Gbps (or even considerably more). All you need is a 5G router and a £20 unlimited SIM. With this it is not surprising many are moving to FWA. I have a 4G router here at home and that can deliver 120Mbps.
For those(like me) who do more with their Internet connection than the standard use. I am thinking of allowing remote access to smart devices, or servers the mobile architecture can be an issue. I have a dynamic DNS set up, which does work but not always as i would hope. The simple solution is to get a dedicated IP from the monile network, but getting one is a whole other story.
For none IT people FWA is a great solution to broadband provision and cheaper in many instances than the fixed wire solution. It is not surprising people are moving.

Enhancing Security with 4G Security Cameras and 5G Industrial Routers in the UK
Security technology has come a long way in recent years, and the UK market has seen significant growth in the adoption of 4G security cameras and 5G industrial routers. These two devices are now widely recognized for their reliable and powerful features, ideal for both home and business use. In this blog, we’ll explore how 4G security cameras and 5G industrial routers can enhance security systems, their benefits, and why they're perfect for users across the UK. Additionally, we’ll introduce an excellent online shop for purchasing these products: 3G Mobile CCTV.
What is a 4G Security Camera?
A 4G security camera operates using 4G mobile networks instead of traditional Wi-Fi or wired connections. This unique capability allows the camera to function independently of Wi-Fi, making it perfect for remote locations where a stable internet connection is unavailable. These cameras can be placed almost anywhere as long as there’s 4G coverage, providing flexibility and peace of mind for users who want to secure areas that may not have access to typical internet sources.
Key Benefits of 4G Security Cameras:
Wireless Freedom: A 4G security camera is completely wireless, which reduces the hassle of cabling. You don’t need to worry about running wires across your property, making it ideal for farms, construction sites, and other large or remote areas.
Real-Time Monitoring: You can access live footage through your mobile device anytime and anywhere. Many 4G cameras come with dedicated apps, allowing for convenient control and monitoring of your premises on the go.
High-Quality Video: 4G security cameras are known for high-definition quality, which means that recorded footage is clear and detailed. Many cameras even offer night vision for excellent visibility even in low-light conditions.
Motion Detection and Alerts: Most modern 4G cameras come with motion sensors. You’ll receive alerts on your mobile phone whenever the camera detects any movement, ensuring that you’re always aware of what’s happening.
Weatherproof Design: Since many 4G cameras are built for outdoor use, they’re typically weatherproof, withstanding rain, dust, and even extreme temperatures. This feature ensures durability and continuous performance regardless of environmental conditions.
Simple Installation: Installing a 4G security camera is straightforward and does not require technical expertise. You only need a stable 4G SIM card, and you’re good to go.
Understanding the Role of a 5G Industrial Router
As industries become more connected and technology-driven, having a fast and secure internet connection is crucial. This is where the 5G industrial router comes into play. Unlike conventional routers, a 5G industrial router is built to offer stable, high-speed internet connectivity in challenging environments. In the UK, the adoption of these routers is steadily increasing as industries demand faster speeds, higher bandwidth, and more reliable connections.
Key Advantages of 5G Industrial Routers:
Blazing Fast Speeds: 5G routers provide significantly faster data speeds than 4G, making them suitable for bandwidth-intensive applications such as video streaming, real-time data processing, and advanced automation.
Reliable Connectivity: These routers are designed to function seamlessly even in harsh conditions, making them a top choice for industrial sites, factories, and rural areas where connectivity is often a challenge.
Multi-Device Support: A 5G router can support numerous devices simultaneously without losing performance, enabling businesses to connect various IoT devices, cameras, and computers all at once.
Enhanced Security Features: 5G industrial routers come with advanced security features to protect networks from cyber threats. This is vital for industries that deal with sensitive data, as they can benefit from built-in firewalls, VPN support, and encrypted connections.
Remote Management: Many 5G routers support remote management, enabling businesses to monitor and troubleshoot network issues without needing to be physically present at the site. This feature is especially useful for companies with multiple sites across different locations.
Future-Ready: Investing in a 5G industrial router ensures your business is ready for future advancements. As 5G technology continues to evolve, these routers will be compatible with new upgrades, ensuring a long-lasting and adaptable solution.
Why Choose 4G Security Cameras and 5G Industrial Routers Together?
Combining a 4G security camera with a 5G industrial router creates a powerful security setup. By using a 5G router, businesses can ensure a stable, high-speed connection for their 4G security cameras, even in challenging conditions or remote areas. This combo allows users to monitor their property seamlessly and enjoy the benefits of both reliable internet and advanced camera capabilities. Here are some additional reasons why this combination is highly beneficial:
Extended Coverage: A 5G router can enhance the camera’s functionality by providing stable internet in places where regular Wi-Fi is unavailable or unreliable.
Improved Video Quality: A high-speed 5G connection enables smoother, high-definition video streams from the 4G camera, making remote monitoring clearer and more efficient.
Increased Security: Both devices come with security features that protect data, ensuring that video feeds are encrypted and safe from unauthorized access.
Use Cases for 4G Security Cameras and 5G Industrial Routers in the UK
These devices are suited for various applications across the UK, catering to different types of users:
Construction Sites: Many construction sites lack reliable Wi-Fi, making 4G security cameras the perfect solution for monitoring these areas. Pairing them with a 5G industrial router enables high-speed connectivity, ensuring uninterrupted surveillance.
Farms and Rural Areas: Agricultural sites in rural areas often face internet connectivity issues. A 5G industrial router, when combined with 4G cameras, provides an effective solution to monitor livestock, crops, and equipment without the need for constant on-site visits.
Warehouses and Factories: Industrial sites can have multiple surveillance points. 4G cameras help cover all essential areas, while a 5G router provides a reliable connection for high-definition monitoring.
Remote Homes and Cottages: For homeowners with remote properties, a 4G security camera with a 5G router is an excellent way to keep an eye on their property, even when they’re far away.
Choosing the Right Products for Your Needs
When selecting a 4G security camera or a 5G industrial router, it’s essential to consider the specific features you need. If you're looking for cameras, consider the type of lens, motion detection, night vision, and app compatibility. For 5G routers, look for models with security features, high device capacity, and remote management options.
Conclusion
4G security cameras and 5G industrial routers are transforming how we secure and connect our properties, especially in remote or challenging areas. These devices are versatile, high-quality, and offer significant benefits for both home and industrial users in the UK. By choosing this combination, you can enjoy stable, high-speed internet while ensuring effective monitoring for your property.
For those looking to purchase top-notch 4G security cameras and 5G routers, 3G Mobile CCTV is an excellent online shop that offers a range of reliable, high-quality security solutions. With their expertise and selection, you can find the ideal products to meet your security and connectivity needs. Invest in technology that ensures safety, reliability, and peace of mind.

5G Zyxel NR5103E NR5103EV2 Wi-Fi 6 SIM Router THREE Dual Band Unlocked To Any Sim
The Zyxel NR5103E / NR5103EV2 is a 5G Wi-Fi 6 router, designed to bring next-generation connectivity to homes and businesses. It is unlocked, meaning it is compatible with any SIM card, and it is often associated with the network provider Three in the UK. However, it is not limited to that network and can be used with any carrier that supports 5G. The device combines the latest advancements in both cellular and Wi-Fi technologies, delivering ultrafast internet speeds and a wide coverage area.
Key Features and Technologies
5G Connectivity: The Zyxel NR5103E takes full advantage of 5G technology, offering extremely fast internet speeds, low latency, and high bandwidth. It is ideal for streaming ultra-high-definition content, online gaming, video conferencing, and other high-bandwidth applications. With 5G, download speeds can potentially reach up to 5 Gbps, depending on the service provider and network conditions. This makes the router a powerful option for replacing traditional broadband, especially in areas with poor fiber or cable internet coverage.
Wi-Fi 6 Compatibility: Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) is the latest Wi-Fi standard, offering faster speeds, improved network efficiency, and better performance in crowded areas. The Zyxel NR5103E supports dual-band Wi-Fi, operating on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. This enables better management of traffic, with the 2.4 GHz band providing long-range coverage, and the 5 GHz band offering faster speeds for devices closer to the router. Wi-Fi 6 also brings OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) and MU-MIMO (Multi-User, Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output) technologies to handle multiple devices at once, reducing lag and ensuring smooth performance for all connected users.
SIM Card Compatibility: One of the key features of this router is that it is unlocked, meaning it can work with any SIM card, whether from Three, EE, Vodafone, or any other network that offers 5G. This gives users the flexibility to choose their preferred mobile carrier based on coverage, pricing, or personal preference. This makes the Zyxel NR5103E an excellent option for people who frequently change locations or live in areas with limited broadband infrastructure.
Future-Proof Technology: The Zyxel NR5103E is equipped with the latest technology to ensure it remains a relevant and high-performing device as 5G networks evolve. With NSA (Non-Standalone) and SA (Standalone) 5G network support, the router is ready to handle current and future iterations of the 5G standard. It is also backward compatible with 4G LTE, ensuring continuous service in areas where 5G is not yet available.
Dual-Band Performance: The Zyxel NR5103E supports dual-band Wi-Fi, which means it can broadcast on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. The 2.4 GHz band offers broader coverage and is ideal for simple tasks like browsing the web or checking emails. Meanwhile, the 5 GHz band offers faster speeds and is better suited for bandwidth-intensive tasks like gaming or streaming in 4K. This balance allows users to connect multiple devices simultaneously without compromising on speed or performance.
Benefits and Use Cases
Home Broadband Alternative: For users living in rural areas or regions where fixed broadband options like fiber or cable are unreliable or unavailable, the Zyxel NR5103E can serve as a viable alternative, providing fast internet over the 5G network.
Portable and Flexible: Since it uses a SIM card for connectivity, the Zyxel NR5103E can be easily moved between different locations. It’s perfect for those who travel frequently or have multiple homes and need consistent internet access.
Work-from-Home and Remote Learning: The router's strong Wi-Fi 6 performance and 5G speeds make it an ideal choice for people who work from home or engage in remote learning, where stable, fast internet is crucial.
In summary, the Zyxel NR5103E / NR5103EV2 is a high-performance 5G router that combines the latest mobile and Wi-Fi technologies. Its dual-band Wi-Fi 6 support, unlocked SIM card compatibility, and powerful 5G capabilities make it a versatile and future-proof solution for modern connectivity needs, especially for those looking for a broadband alternative or seeking to optimize their home or office networks.

What is 5G Home Internet? Here’s Everything You Need to Know
Tired of slow, costly, or unreliable internet service? You’re not alone. Internet service providers (ISPs) ranked poorly in customer satisfaction in the US last year. Most people get their internet through cable, with few options available. But with mobile carriers launching fast, low-latency 5G networks, the situation is changing.
For some, 5G home internet could be a good alternative to traditional broadband. Carriers are beginning to offer 5G home internet packages to recover the costs of their upgraded networks, potentially bringing some real competition to ISPs. If you’re curious about what 5G home internet is, how it compares to broadband, and whether it might suit your needs, we have all the information you need.
What Does 5G Mean?
5G is the fifth generation of global wireless standards. Mobile carriers have been deploying these advanced cellular networks over the past few years. Compared to the previous generation (4G), 5G utilizes unused radio frequencies at the higher end of the spectrum. Simply put, 5G is faster, has lower latency, and can support more connected devices. For a deeper dive, you can read our detailed guide to 5G.
What Is 5G Home Internet?
5G home internet is a new alternative to traditional broadband. Instead of using cables to bring the internet into your home, 5G home internet connects wirelessly to the 5G cellular network using a fixed receiver inside or outside your house. You will use a SIM card and have a service contract, similar to your mobile phone. A modem and router are still needed to convert the 5G signal into Wi-Fi to distribute it throughout your home.
What About 4G Home Internet?
Some carriers already offer 4G LTE home internet, and some provide a combination of 4G and 5G services. Both require a receiver to connect to the network, but 5G offers faster speeds and lower latency. While theoretical 5G speeds can exceed 10 Gbps with 1 millisecond of latency, real-world performance is typically around 1 Gbps, which is still competitive with traditional broadband. On the other hand, 4G LTE usually maxes out at 100 Mbps and often delivers lower speeds in practice.
Is 5G Home Internet Better Than Broadband?
The short answer is no, but it depends on your situation. If you have fiber optic cable to your house, you can enjoy extremely fast wired internet. However, if you rely on copper cable, your internet speed will be limited by the distance from the exchange and the demand in your area.
Some people don’t have access to a cable connection, and remote areas often lack strong 5G coverage. However, if you have good 5G coverage in your area and your current internet service is poor or expensive, 5G home internet might be a better choice. It offers a viable alternative, especially in areas where traditional broadband services are lacking or underperforming.
What Are the Advantages of 5G Home Internet?
5G home internet offers several advantages over wired broadband:
Easy Installation: Without the need for a physical cable, setting up 5G home internet is usually much simpler. You can likely do it yourself without needing an engineer visit.
Fast Speeds: If you have good 5G coverage in your area, you can enjoy fast internet speeds, often much faster than what old copper cables can provide.
Potential Cost Savings: 5G home internet might be cheaper than wired internet. Some carriers offer discounts and incentives for adding 5G home internet to your existing mobile plan.
What Are the Disadvantages?
While 5G home internet has its benefits, there are also some potential drawbacks:
Limited Coverage: 5G coverage is currently best in cities. If you don’t have good 5G coverage in your area, 5G home internet won’t be suitable for you.
Line of Sight Requirement: For the best performance, you’ll need a receiver with a clear line of sight to a 5G cell site or tower. This may involve attaching an antenna to the outside of your home, as 5G signals can struggle to penetrate walls and are prone to interference.
Network Congestion: As more people adopt 5G and networks expand, your 5G home internet service may be impacted. Increased network traffic could lead to slower speeds or interruptions.
Can I Get 5G Home Internet?
Whether you can get 5G home internet depends on your location and the 5G coverage in your area. Coverage maps, like the one from nPerf, let you check 5G availability and download speeds by carrier. Most carriers also provide coverage maps on their websites. Currently, 5G home internet service is mostly available in specific areas, primarily big cities. To find out if 5G home internet is available to you, check these maps and consult your preferred carrier.
Who Offers 5G Home Internet in Canada?
Several carriers offer 5G home internet service. However, it’s important to read the small print, as most carriers provide a mix of 4G LTE and 5G. You can often get the best deals from carriers where you already have multiple services. If you already have cell service with a carrier, they might offer you a discount on 5G home internet. To find the best option, check with your current carrier and compare their offers with those from other providers.
