BMW 4 Series Begins Production at Dingolfing
No fewer than five new models celebrated their series launch at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing today. The first new addition is the BMW 4 Series Coupé, which continues the sports coupé tradition at the BMW site in Lower Bavaria with its individual and sporty character.
Updated models of the BMW 5 Series Sedan, including the BMW M5 and the BMW 5 Series Touring, will come off the production line at the same time. All vehicles with four and six-cylinder engines will now offer not only sharper design, but also highly efficient 48-volt mild-hybrid technology – ensuring improved driving performance with better fuel economy and enhanced driving comfort. This will also benefit the new BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo, which impresses customers with its outstanding long-distance capabilities.
The new BMW 4 Series Coupé
Elegant sports coupés are an essential part of BMW model history and also have a long tradition at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing, beginning with the BMW 6 Series Coupé in 1976. 44 years later, the new BMW 4 Series Coupé is now rolling off the production line in Lower Bavaria, bringing its standalone design and distinctive character profile to the premium mid-size segment. The biggest sales markets for the two-door coupé are the US, the UK and Germany.
The new BMW 4 Series uses intelligent lightweight construction to support its uniquely sporty handling: The bonnet, front side panels and doors of the new BMW 4 Series Coupé are made from aluminium at the Dingolfing press plant. Key chassis components also come from the adjacent BMW Group Plant 02.10: The Dingolfing component plant supplies the galvanised front axle support, front and rear axle and axle transmission for assembly at the vehicle plant.
A BMW M440i xDrive Coupé (fuel consumption combined: 7.1–6.8 l/100 km, CO2 emissions combined: 163–155 g/km) will make its debut at the top of the range. Its especially powerful 275 kW/374 hp six-cylinder in-line petrol engine delivers outstanding performance, capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. Two four-cylinder petrol engines and a four-cylinder diesel unit will also be available from market launch in October 2020. Two six-cylinder in-line diesel engines will also join the line-up in March 2021.
The interior design and equipment options are also clearly focused on creating a particularly intense driving experience. The new BMW 4 Series Coupé is fitted with a retractable seatbelt extender and windscreen with acoustic glass as standard. The worldwide market introduction of the new BMW 4 Series Coupé will begin in October 2020, with prices starting at 45,800 EUR.
Model update for BMW 5 Series and BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo
Four updated BMW 5 Series and 6 Series models will also be launched at the Dingolfing location in July 2020, alongside the new BMW 4 Series. Stefan Schmid, Chairman of the Works Council at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing: “Five at one go. With the start of production for the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and updated BMW 5 Series and BMW 6 Series models taking place at the same time, staff in Dingolfing have proved once again that they can master complex launches and the company can rely on our location. Our plant is now ideally prepared for more models later this year, as well as the series launch of the BMW iNEXT in 2021.”
The BMW 5 Series has been a real success story for BMW Group Plant Dingolfing since 1972. More than 630,000 vehicles from the current model generation have already been sold worldwide. Targeted optimisations are now creating the necessary conditions to continue the success of the BMW 5 Series. For example, the BMW kidney grille has been enhanced and the LED headlights given new graphic elements, while the rear lights have undergone three-dimensional modelling.
BMW M GmbH has also given its BMW M5 high-performance sedan (fuel consumption combined: 10.6–10.5 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 242–239 g/km) a sharper look, including a redesign of the front and rear aprons.
The BMW 5 Series now offers even more electric drive train options: The BMW 530e Sedan (fuel consumption in l/100 km (combined): 1.8-1.7; CO2 emissions in g/km (combined): 42-39; power consumption in kWh/100 km (combined): 14.8-13.7) is available right away with the latest battery-cell generation – enabling a pure-electric range of 62 to 67 kilometres. The battery will be manufactured at nearby Plant 02.20, the BMW Group’s Competence Centre for E-Drive Production. From autumn 2020, the BMW 5 Series Touring will also be available for the first time as a plug-in hybrid. The BMW 545e xDrive Sedan (fuel consumption combined: 2.4–2.1 l/100 km; power consumption combined: 16.3–15.3 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions from fuel combined: 54–49 g/km) will be the first plug-in hybrid with a six-cylinder petrol engine. This means, from November 2020, five electrified model variants of the BMW 5 Series alone will be available.
In addition, all four and six-cylinder engines will come with ultra-efficient 48-volt mild-hybrid technology as standard. Depending on the driving situation, the starter generator either allows brake energy to be regenerated or provides an electric boost of 11 hp. This will also benefit all model variants of the new BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo, which is proving very popular in markets like South Korea or India, thanks to its elegant appearance and exceptional comfort over longer distances.

Zlepšená hospodárnost postupnou elektrifikací, snížené emise a inovace v oblastech asistenčních systémů a digitálních služeb jsou základními prvky podzimní modernizace různých modelů BMW. Od listopadu 2020 budou všechny modelové řady BMW plnit nejpřísnější emisní standardy Euro 6d.
Rozšířená hospodárnost: světová premiéra pěti plug-in hybridních modelů BMW řady 5
Na podzim se rozšíří nabídka plug-in hybridních verzí BMW řady 5. Novinkou nabídky bude výkonné BMW 545e xDrive Sedan, BMW 530e Touring a BMW 530e xDrive Touring. Tyto modely doplní aktuálně dostupné BMW 530e Sedan a BMW 530e xDrive Sedan, takže počet plug-in hybridních verzí řady 5 se zvětší na pět.
Více dynamiky s menší spotřebou: nové vznětové řadové 6válce se 48V mild hybridní technologií v BMW řady 3 a BMW řady 8
BMW pokračuje v postupném snižování spotřeby paliva a produkce u emisí svého výrobního programu zaváděním 48voltové mild hybridní technologie.
Zlepšení jízdní dynamiky i spotřeby paliva bylo dosaženo dalším zdokonalením technologie BMW TwinPower Turbo a zároveň nasazením relativně výkonného startér-generátoru spolupracujícího s vlastní baterií. Dynamiku a současně akceleraci zlepšuje dodatečných 8 kW/11 koní dodávaných 48V startér-generátorem.
BMW řady 1, BMW řady 2 Gran Coupé: nové motory a nová volitelná výbava
Nové BMW 116i bude pohánět zážehový 3válec s výkonem 80 kW/109 koní a točivým momentem 190 Nm. K dispozici bude s 6stupňovou manuální převodovkou nebo s dvouspojkovou 7stupňovou převodovkou Steptronic. Nabídku této modelové řady doplní také nové BMW 120i, jehož zážehový 4válec nabídne výkon 131 kW/178 koní a točivý moment 280 Nm. U něj bude standardní výbavou dvouspojková 7stupňová převodovka Steptronic. Novou variantou BMW řady 2 Gran Coupé bude BMW 216d Gran Coupé s maximálním výkonem 85 kW/116 koní jeho vznětového 3válce kombinovaného výhradně s dvouspojkovou 7stupňovou převodovkou Steptronic.
Nabídku volitelné výbavy BMW řady 1 a BMW řady 2 Gran Coupé rozšíří expresivní zatmavené světlomety BMW Individual Shadow Line s tmavými vnitřními částmi v oblasti horních okrajů, které působí mimořádně expresivně.
if (sssp.displaySeznamAds()) { } else { var script = document.createElement("script"); script.setAttribute("src", "//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"); script.setAttribute("async", "async"); document.querySelector("body").appendChild(script); } (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Nová funkce Urban Cruise Control rozpoznávající semafory bude k dispozici pro BMW řady 3, BMW řady 5, BMW řady 6 Gran Turismo, BMW řady 8 a BMW X5, BMW X6, BMW X7, BMW M5, BMW M8, BMW X5 M a BMW X6 M v rámci vzdálené aktualizace softwaru Remote Software Upgrade.
Nové digitální služby pro více radosti z jízdy: BMW News, BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant s novými funkcemi osobního profilu s obrázkem a jednoduchým přihlášením
BMW X1 a BMW X2: nové varianty světlometů a BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line s rozšířeným obsahem
Příspěvek BMW chystá nové motory i výbavy. Multimediální systém bude umět přehrát i zvuk motoru jiných BMW pochází z auto-mania.cz

2021 BMW 5-Series First Look: Five for Fighting
We were left unimpressed with the seventh-generation BMW 5-Series back when it launched for 2017. It was more luxury and less sport than we wanted, and we yearned for the days the 5 had things the other way around. Now that a few years have passed, BMW has taken the wraps off the refreshed 2021 BMW 5-Series, and, guess what? It arguably looks more lux and less sporting than ever. That doesn’t mean the changes aren’t upgrades, though.
The entire 5-Series lineup undergoes a thorough makeover for the 2021 model year. The most obvious changes are to its bodywork. The grille, unsurprisingly, swells slightly—now wider and taller than before. The design of the car’s standard LED headlights now brings its looks in line with those of the smaller 3-Series. All 5-Series models get new taillights and tailpipes, too.
Light changes to the rest of the bodywork make the 5er more aerodynamic. BMW claims that in 530e guise the new car has a coefficient of drag as low as 0.27. The top of the normal 5-series range, the M550i, now gets BMW’s aerodynamic kit as standard equipment.
Underneath the visual upgrades lie some key changes to the car’s powertrains. Six-cylinder models feature 48-volt, mild-hybrid tech. Like many others, the system pairs the straight-six with an electric motor that improves acceleration response and efficiency. The 48-volt system also brings a more seamless start-stop feature and allows the car to coast with the engine completely off—not just disconnected from the drivetrain—at speeds up to 99 miles per hour.
The 2021 BMW 530e also gets some new engine tech that boosts overall power output. The 181-horsepower, 2.0-liter engine is augmented by a new, 107-hp electric motor. The powertrain pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Thanks to its new motor, the 530e models gain an extra 40 horses over the previous model, bringing total system output to 288 hp and 310 pound-feet of torque.
Power for 530i and 540i models remain the same, although BMW notes it made changes to both powertrains’ turbochargers and VANOS variable valve timing system. The M550i, however, gets a huge bump in power. The top-of-the-line model used to make 456 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque, but thanks to some fiddling, it now produces a whopping 523 hp and 553 lb-ft of twist.
Most 5-Series models push power to the rear wheels and offer all-wheel drive as an option (known as xDrive in BMW parlance). The lone exception is the M550i, which is all-wheel-drive only. Other options available across the range include BMW’s M Sport package, which offers new springs and dampers that are turned for more spirited driving. A clever adaptive suspension system is available on the 540i that monitors the level of damping at each wheel and attempts to provide a nice balance between handling and comfort.
Inside, the 5 benefits from a number of detail changes that make it even more of a tech tour-de-force. All models get a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment setup. In-dash navigation, as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, comes standard. Faux-leather trim comes standard for those who prefer to forgo cowhides.
As you might come to expect from any new car in the modern era, the new 5 comes with a number of standard safety systems, with even more available as options. Lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a number of other driver aids are included on all models. Buyers can also opt for the Driving Assistance Plus package, which adds adaptive cruise control, traffic-jam assist that offers hands-free driving in traffic, and front cross-traffic alert.
Pricing for the 2021 BMW 5-Series starts at $55,195, and it goes up from there. The 530e starts at $58,195, while all-wheel drive is an extra $2,000 (same goes for the entry-level 530i). The six-cylinder 540i starts at $60,445 and all-wheel-drive adds $2,300 to the bill. The range tops out with the $77,795 M550i xDrive. Get your checkbooks ready, because BMW will start taking orders for the new and improved 5er this month.

Munich. BMW will also be injecting many of the models not affected by its ongoing model offensive with added variety and appeal during the summer of 2019. Following the successful launch of the new BMW 3 Series Sedan, its choice of power units has now been expanded. New engines are also fitted in the BMW 8 Series Coupe, BMW 8 Series Convertible and BMW 5 Series Sedan. Elsewhere, the BMW Z4 sDrive20i (fuel consumption combined: 6.9 – 6.8 l/100 km [40.9 – 41.5 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 157 – 155 g/km) will also be available with a six-speed manual gearbox from July 2019.
The portfolio of plug-in hybrid models is also set to grow in summer 2019, thanks to additions such as the BMW 530e xDrive Sedan (petrol consumption combined: 2.2 – 2.0 l/100 km [128.4 – 141.2 mpg imp]; electric power consumption combined: 15.4 – 15.0 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 49 – 46 g/km) with intelligent all-wheel drive. All plug-in hybrid models will now come with new battery cell technology to boost their electric range and will also feature acoustic protection for pedestrians as standard. The BMW X2 will come with LED headlights and LED foglamps as standard from July 2019. Last but not least, new optional extras, exterior paint finishes, leather variants and interior trim strips will open up further scope for customisation in many model ranges.
BMW 3 Series Sedan: additional power units, new body colours and options.
The new BMW 3 Series Sedan will serve up its distinctive brand of driving pleasure in a number of new formats from July 2019, when an ultra-sporty representative with a straight-six petrol engine and BMW xDrive, another three all-wheel-drive variants and a plug-in hybrid model are added to the line-up.
