Is a 50 Amp RV Plug 110 or 220?
It’s unsurprising to hear first-time RV owners ask, is a 50 amp RV plug 110 or 220? And while seasoned RVers might find this pointless, it remains a valid concern.
A 50 amp service is always 220 (or 240) volts because it has a unique design divergent from the usual 30-amp system we are more familiar with.

I'm only hhalf a step above this in that I needed a new stove, and my options were gas stove ($900) or electric/induction ($1200+ not including $2000+ to REWIRE THE FUCKING KITCHEN)
So yeah, I bought a gas stove after learning that non-gas stoves have to be installed on a dedicated 50amp circuit, and that it would cost way too fucking much to attempt that in my house. I really did want an induction stove, but holy fuck the cost is ridiculous.

August 29th, Prince George
Best laid plans...
Up early this morning for a 7am departure. Coach was idling for about 15 minutes while we were putting in slides and jacks. Just as I was reaching to put it into gear, the engine light goes on. Called freightliner and he said it was a minor error with the computer getting bad data, and it should clear after a few trips. Unless it develops into something major.
I decided that I had enough fun and we would make it a long day and get to Prince George. Because if we had to get stuck somewhere, PG was the best choice.
Got Diesel and headed down highway 29. This route saves about 10km over going into Fort St. John and staying on 97. Did this in 2018 and knew it was hilly but the road was much worse now (except the sections they rebuilt). This included coming down a 10% grade into a dirt ditch running across the road. However, the scenery was fantastic as after each hill, you came back into a beautiful river valley.
Back on the 97, the road was also in need of TLC in many sections.
Made it to PG around 2pm. Filled up the diesel at a much better price of $1.65 a liter. Started the engine and the engine light went off (dodged another bullet).
Pulled into Northern experience RV park. Stayed here in 2018, and it was Soso. Now it is much improved with nice landscaping, 50amp service, and fast wifi. Staying here 3 nights now.
The oil filter seems to be fixed. Checked it a couple of times on the way down and no issues.
We are tired. Long stressful day.

Understanding how electrical circuits work and how the external factors influence their working will help you derive a plan that will maintain and optimise electrical systems in your place.
Getting the help of Electrical Contractor in Kelowna will ensure your planning is proper, and you won’t have to suffer any consequences in the future.
Here are some Q&A you can ask your Electrical Contractor in Kelowna before you plan a systemised electrical circuit unit.
1- What are the different types of electrical circuits?
Four types of electrical circuits available are considered major in the overall planning. It includes series, close, open, and short circuits. Each electrical circuit has different functionality, which depends on its wiring and power source.
2- What are dedicated circuits and their size?
With dedicated electrical circuits, you get enough electricity to power larger appliances. The most common size of dedicated circuits ranges from 15 to 20 amps. It would help if you asked your Electrical Contractor, Kelowna, to fix electrical circuits with appropriate sizing.
3- Which appliances use a 15-to-20-amp circuit?
The appliances that require dedicated 15 to 20 amps circuits are washers, dishwashers, hairdryers, refrigerators, coffee makers, microwaves, and garbage disposal units.
4- What are a heavy-duty amp circuit and the appliances involved?
Heavy-duty amp circuits range from 30 to 50amp dedicated circuits. This appliance works through this circuit: air conditioning units, electric furnaces, water heaters, compressors, dryers, and electric ranges.

August 25th, Watson Lake
Left Whitehouse just before 8am. The rain had stopped for now and we made it about 60 miles, before it started again and kept going most of the way there. Road was about the same as in May, Good, Semi-good, and ok. Rig stayed pretty clean as we had little dirt and lots of rain.
Got to Watson Lake after 1pm and decided to fill up at Tags Gas at the start of town. It was packed and nothing seemed to be moving. I soon learned that the Telecomm systems were down in the entire town (and all the way to Fort Nelson). So they had a single Square terminal (who knows how it connected but it was very slow) so everyone had to come in, present a card and then wait in line again to close out the card. Longest diesel fill in history!!
The Downtown RV park was just down the street and we pulled in after 2pm. Not much of a park but they have good utilities and 50amp service. He has a small wifi via Starlink but all of his normal systems are down as well. He said that it could be days before they have internet back, but we got lucky and it came back at 3:30pm!
Went over to the Signpost Forest to hang our 2024 sign. We looked but could not find our 2014 sign. However, we went back in the evening and finally found it. Rain kept coming all night off and on.
