there’s something really hysterical about the dynamic vmin have with yoongi.

tae like, continuously and delightedly forcing yoongi to be affectionate/endure his affection while yoongi acts extremely put out. because he is wellll aware that yoongi “secretly” loves attention & physical affection. (however despite this “protesting” he WILL verbally confirm how much he loves tae if he REALLY thinks tae needs that)

then theres jimin, who is consistently the most affectionate person in bts to the point where the members admit without him, they wouldn’t celebrate birthdays or give gifts or, no doubt, be as openly affectionate with each other as they are. but jimin loves so fully and shamelessly, as easy as breathing, he just makes it look so simple.

except with yoongi. of COURSE he adores yoongi just as much as he adores every member, but instead their love language is teasing, bickering, competing & making each other laugh, and you dont often see jimin be physically affectionate with him—but if he IS yoongi almost never pretends to be annoyed about it.

theyre either jokingly mocking one another or being so ridiculously sincere that i feel like i shouldnt be watching it. i feel like (total speculation obv) jimin enjoys and wants verbal affirmation from the other members, where thats his love language, but he doesnt have to pulll yoongis affection out of him by force like tae, because he somehow just knows. There’s a japanese interview where jimin says

“Suga may seem cold, but a lot of times I get the feeling he’s a really warm person, [...] although he’s not a person to talk warmly to members one by one.”

He knows. & i think in their own way, bickering and arguing and teasing IS their love language, because its ATTENTION. yoongi (despite obviously loving taes stolen hugs) isnt that suited to jimins main love language he gives, which is physical affection. jimin needs to hear verbal affirmation, but yoongi often finds honest & sincere words difficult to express directly except when necessary. so they adapted this other thing, this love language thats just theirs. Jimin joking that hes going to spend the money yoongi gave him for supplies on ice cream, and yoongi just saying “okay,” in a way that you know means he meant it

Yoongi composing a long text to jk & tae about how much he loves them, probably worried that they dont know because hes not always able to express it, but he doesnt send jimin one. because jimin already knows. but when jimin finds out he makes a joke out of being hurt at not receiving one, which yoongi can instantly tell is only 90% joke, so he tells him right there that he loves him. he just was never worried jimin didnt know

the way yoongi would do literally anything to make jimin laugh and always looks IMMENSELY proud when he does (despite, lets admit it, it not being that hard)

Jimin being the only one who knew yoongi could cook

Jimin making a joke out of being so loud cheering on yoongis basketball game, as though pretending his only intention was embarrassment which such a lie lmaoo

Yoongi insisting he would have gotten jimins trivia answers right (i think this is also the interview where jimin says he wants to fight yoongi and “one day ill beat you.” we love duality)

“He picked me because he hates me” “he picked you because he likes you and wants to hold your hand” i mean WE know that but damn you did not have to pull back the curtain like that jin lmaooo

In conclusion: tae being more touchy with yoongi than with the others and jimin being less touchy with yoongi than with the others is a dynamic that fuels me far more than the sleep i couldve gotten if i hadnt typed out this monstrosity instead
