How to Keep Your Home Pest-Free Naturally: Safe and Eco-Friendly Tips
Keeping your home pest-free doesn’t always require harsh chemicals or extensive pest control treatments. Natural pest control methods offer safe and eco-friendly alternatives that protect both your home and the environment. At Acme Pest Control, we believe that pest prevention can start with simple, natural solutions. Here’s how you can keep unwanted pests at bay while maintaining a safe and healthy home for you and your family.
1. Maintain a Clean Home
One of the simplest and most effective ways to prevent pests is to keep your home clean. Pests are attracted to food, water, and shelter, so taking steps to eliminate these will make your home less inviting to them. Here’s what you can do:
Wipe down counters and surfaces regularly to remove crumbs and food residue.
Store food in airtight containers and put it away immediately after meals.
Dispose of garbage daily and keep trash bins sealed tightly.
Vacuum frequently to eliminate food particles and dust that can attract pests.
By keeping your home clean, you reduce the opportunities for pests to find food and shelter indoors.
2. Seal Entry Points
Many pests find their way inside through small cracks, gaps, and holes around doors, windows, and foundations. Sealing these entry points can help prevent insects and rodents from sneaking into your home. Focus on the following areas:
Caulk any gaps around windows and doors.
Install door sweeps to close the gap between doors and the floor.
Check screens on windows and doors for holes and replace if necessary.
Inspect the foundation of your home for cracks or openings, especially around utility pipes and vents.
Sealing entry points is a highly effective, long-term solution to keep pests outside where they belong.
3. Use Natural Pest Deterrents
Certain natural ingredients are known to repel pests without harming the environment. Here are some popular, eco-friendly options to consider:
Citrus Peels: Many insects, including ants, dislike the smell of citrus. Rubbing lemon or orange peels along windowsills, door frames, and other entry points can help deter them.
Vinegar: A mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar can be used to wipe down surfaces. This not only keeps surfaces clean but also acts as a natural repellent for ants and other pests.
Essential Oils: Essential oils such as peppermint, eucalyptus, and tea tree oil are effective natural repellents. Mix a few drops with water in a spray bottle and spray around entry points, windows, and under sinks to repel insects like spiders, ants, and mosquitoes.
Using natural deterrents around your home is an easy, cost-effective way to keep pests away without resorting to chemical sprays.
4. Keep Moisture Levels Low
Many pests, including mosquitoes, cockroaches, and termites, are attracted to moisture. Managing moisture levels in your home can help prevent infestations. Here are some tips to reduce moisture:
Fix leaky faucets and pipes as soon as possible.
Use a dehumidifier in damp areas like basements and bathrooms.
Ensure good ventilation in bathrooms and kitchens to reduce humidity.
Clear out clogged gutters and make sure water drains away from the foundation.
By keeping your home dry and well-ventilated, you create an environment that’s less appealing to moisture-loving pests.
5. Practice Natural Outdoor Pest Control
Many pests enter your home from the outdoors. Practicing pest control in your yard and garden can make a difference in keeping pests from invading your indoor spaces. Try these eco-friendly outdoor solutions:
Plant pest-repellent herbs such as basil, rosemary, and lavender around your garden. These plants not only add beauty but also help repel mosquitoes, flies, and other insects.
Use coffee grounds around garden beds to repel ants, snails, and slugs.
Remove any standing water in bird baths, flowerpots, and buckets to prevent mosquitoes from breeding.
Compost properly to avoid attracting flies and rodents.
Keeping the perimeter of your home pest-free reduces the chances of pests finding their way inside.
6. Store Firewood Away from Your Home
If you keep firewood for winter or enjoy outdoor fires, be mindful of where you store it. Firewood can attract termites, ants, and other pests, which may eventually make their way into your home. Store firewood at least 20 feet away from the house and elevate it a few inches off the ground to reduce the risk of pest migration.
7. Encourage Natural Predators
Encouraging natural predators around your property is an environmentally friendly way to control pest populations. Birds, for example, are excellent at keeping insect populations under control. Here’s how you can attract helpful predators:
Install bird feeders or bird baths to attract birds that feed on insects.
Encourage beneficial insects such as ladybugs and spiders, which prey on smaller insects.
Plant flowers that attract pollinators and beneficial insects, like marigolds and sunflowers.
Allowing nature to help control pests is a sustainable method of reducing the need for chemical interventions.
8. Use DIY Pest Traps
For a more hands-on approach, you can create natural pest traps using household items. Here are a few simple traps:
Apple Cider Vinegar Fruit Fly Trap: Pour apple cider vinegar into a bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and poke small holes in the top. The vinegar attracts fruit flies, and once they enter the bowl, they can’t escape.
Homemade Ant Trap: Mix equal parts sugar and baking soda and place it near ant trails. The sugar attracts ants, and the baking soda disrupts their digestion.
Beer Slug Trap: Pour beer into a shallow container and place it near plants that slugs are eating. The slugs will be attracted to the beer and drown in it.
These DIY traps are simple to make, safe, and effective for targeting specific pests without chemicals.
Final Thoughts
Maintaining a pest-free home naturally is possible with some simple, eco-friendly practices. From keeping a clean home to using natural deterrents, you can control and prevent pests in a way that’s safe for your family, pets, and the environment. At Acme Pest Control, we encourage homeowners to use natural methods whenever possible, and we’re here to help with professional, environmentally friendly solutions when needed.
If you’re facing a pest issue that natural remedies can’t handle, our team offers customized pest control options that prioritize safety and sustainability. Contact us today to learn more about our eco-friendly pest control services and how we can help keep your home comfortable and pest-free.

Staging is about creating an appealing, welcoming environment that allows buyers to envision themselves living in the space. Here are some effective tips to help you stage your home for a quick sale.
1. Enhance Curb Appeal
First impressions matter, and the exterior of your home is the first thing potential buyers see. Enhance your curb appeal by:
Mowing the Lawn: Keep the grass trimmed and edges neat.
Planting Flowers: Add colorful flowers or shrubs to brighten the space.
Cleaning the Exterior: Power wash the siding, driveway, and walkways.
Painting the Front Door: A fresh coat of paint can make a significant impact.

Buyers need to envision their belongings in your home, so it’s essential to declutter and depersonalize the space.
Remove Personal Items: Take down family photos, personal collections, and any highly personalized decor.
Declutter: Clear out excess furniture, knick-knacks, and items that make rooms feel crowded.
Organize Closets: Buyers often look inside closets, so keep them tidy and organized.
3. Deep Clean Every Room
A clean home creates a positive impression and suggests that the property is well-maintained.
Clean Carpets and Floors: Shampoo carpets, mop hardwood floors, and remove any stains.
Dust and Polish Surfaces: Dust furniture, shelves, and light fixtures. Polish mirrors and glass surfaces.
Scrub Bathrooms and Kitchens: Ensure that sinks, tubs, showers, and appliances are spotless.

Fixing minor issues can make a big difference in how buyers perceive your home.
Patch Holes and Cracks: Repair any holes or cracks in walls and ceilings.
Fix Leaky Faucets: Ensure that all plumbing fixtures are in good working order.
Replace Burned-Out Bulbs: Make sure all lights are functioning and bright.
5. Neutralize the Color Scheme
A neutral color palette appeals to a broader range of buyers and allows them to imagine adding their own touches.
Paint Walls: Opt for neutral colors like beige, gray, or white. Fresh paint can make rooms look clean and new.
Coordinate Decor: Use neutral-colored decor to create a cohesive look throughout the home.
6. Arrange Furniture for Flow and Functionality
Proper furniture arrangement can make rooms feel larger and more inviting.
Maximize Space: Arrange furniture to highlight the room’s size and functionality. Remove any bulky or unnecessary pieces.
Create Conversation Areas: In living rooms, set up furniture to facilitate conversation and make the space feel welcoming.
Showcase Each Room’s Purpose: Ensure that each room has a clear and defined purpose.
7. Add Finishing Touches
Small details can make a big impact and make your home feel more inviting.
Use Fresh Flowers: Place fresh flowers in vases around the home for a touch of color and life.
Set the Dining Table: Arrange place settings and a centerpiece on the dining table to create a welcoming atmosphere.
Add Cozy Elements: Use throw pillows, blankets, and area rugs to add warmth and comfort.
8. Let in Natural Light
Bright, well-lit rooms appear larger and more inviting.
Open Curtains and Blinds: Let in as much natural light as possible.
Clean Windows: Ensure windows are clean to maximize light and views.
Use Artificial Lighting: In darker areas, use lamps and overhead lights to brighten the space.

[ the little moments] ♡ Leviathan
4 - That moment when you baked cream puffs with Leviathan.
✿ part of a series now! ✿
❀  gender neutral reader  ❀
“What are you making?” you asked, peeking over Levi’s arms.
“GAH!” Levi yelped. “BEGONE, DEMONS!—oh. It’s just you. Why did you sneak up on me??? It’s not fair for my poor heart, okay.”
Levi set down the spatula into the bowl and patted his chest a few times, clearly spooked by your unannounced arrival. You felt bad for scaring him, but his reaction was utterly adorable. There was a faint blush across his cheeks, and all you wanted to do was see it again and again.
“I’m sorry,” you said sincerely, giving his head a few pats for good measure. “I didn’t mean to scare you.”
The blush deepened at the contact between you two, but Levi didn’t push you away. He only turned his head and grumbled with a small pout, “It’s fine, I forgive you.”
You looked at the dough in the bowl, the cup of beaten eggs on the counter, and the bottles of whip cream neatly lined up to the side. “So, what are you making? Do you need any help?” you asked.
He perked up instantly, and all lingering signs from the scare vanished. As he whipped out his D.D.D. from his pocket, he began explaining to you.
“So, you see,” Levi began, his fingers moving furiously against the screen, “in the anime ‘The Magical Ruri Hanai: Demon Girl’, in one episode, Ruri-chan visited one of her human friends and they made cream puffs together, and as I was rewatching that episode, seeing Ruri-chan enjoying her cream puffs that she made with her own two hands also made me want to make my own cream puffs, because if I make it myself, then it’ll be like eating it with Ruri-chan, you know, but I’ve never made cream puffs before so I’m following a recipe and yeah. That’s where I am right now—Did you get all that? You look a little dazed.”
When Levi talked about something he’s passionate about, the purple in his eyes rose and fell in accordance to his emotions. It’s something that took you a while to notice, but once you did, you couldn’t stop staring. For example, when Levi was sad, the purple swallowed most of the orange, leaving behind a sliver of dark orange. And when Levi was angry, and you meant really angry, only a tiny amount of purple circled his pupil. The bright orange consumed all other colors, and it almost seemed to glow. But when Levi was happy, that’s when his eyes were the warmest orange. The purple was mild, nestled underneath hues of oranges—you thought it was a beautiful combination of colors.
Like currently. You were utterly entranced by the way the orange seeped into the paler orange, pushing down the purple until all you could see was the sunset in his eyes. Too entranced that you appeared dazed to Levi, but not to the point that you didn’t listen to what he was saying.
When you refocused again, Levi turned away to the ingredients on the countertop, hands reaching for his headphones only to meet the collar of his cardigan. It seemed to be a habit of his. When he was nervous or feeling out of place, he often reached for his headphones to feel safe, to feel protected against the world. But he didn’t have them today, probably because he planned on baking and didn’t want them to get dirty or to get in the way.
“Of course,” Levi mumbled, tugging his cardigan closer to his body, “I shouldn’t expect a normie like you to understand, why did I even bother? There’s no way you would care about something stupid—”
“I was listening,” you said firmly. “By making cream puffs, you will feel like you’re eating them with Ruri-chan, right? It’s not stupid at all, Levi. I think the idea is adorable. Can we make them together?”
Levi spluttered and turned further away from you, red ears peeking out of his hair.
“That-that’s not fair! Acting so cute, especially with that head tilt! It’s like you’re trying to KO me!” Levi complained, but he finally turned to look at you. However, his eyes were constantly moving between the bowl of batter and your face. “Although… if it’s on purpose, I, uh, I wouldn’t necessarily mind… BUT that’s not the problem here! Are you sick or something? Why did you look so out of it? Like, like something came and ate your soul! You can’t let anyone eat your soul, okay?!”
There was no need for shame in this house, so you confessed with a straight face. Besides, there wasn’t any reason to hide it from Levi, whose concern for your soul had his hands on your shoulders, all of his inhibitions regarding intimacy out the window.
“I got distracted by your eyes,” you said honestly. “When you’re really happy, your eyes are this really pretty shade of orange. It reminds me of sunsets and autumn trees that we have in the human world.”
It took Levi a minute or two to process what you just said, but when it registered, he froze up. His hands clamped down harder on your shoulders, fingers squeezing you as he choked out, “A-ah… I, I see…”
His eyes bore holes into your clothes, not daring to meet yours, as red bloomed beautifully on his cheeks. It was just tempting you to touch it, to feel the warm soft skin with your fingertips, to encourage the blush with pinching and kneading, but just as you started to move for his cheeks, Levi removed himself from you and showed you a picture of cream puffs, drawn in a familiar anime style.
“Th-this, AHEM, this is what Ruri-chan made,” Levi said, the blush still lingering on his cheeks as he explained. “She cuts it completely in half and then they put the cream inside.“ Then, he swiped to another picture. “This is the recipe I found. I’ve already cooked the dough on the stove, so all I have left is to mix the perfect amount of eggs into the dough.”
You lowered the hand that was reaching for Levi’s face and smiled at him. Even though you really wanted to touch his cheeks, you were still satisfied from the way Levi was enjoying himself with baking. It was rare to see Levi so unbridled and unabashed with his happiness in a public space, although perhaps the House of Lamentation wouldn’t count as public.
Something this rare... you didn’t dare disrupt.
“Then, let’s mix the eggs together,” you offered, turning to grab the measuring cup of beaten eggs. “Is this the amount that we need?”
Levi picked up the spatula he had set down earlier and replied, “There’s four eggs in there, but the recipe said that it’s really finicky. We just have to make the dough a good consistency. Let’s see… we need it shiny, thick, and smooth.”
The mixing went well. Levi was extremely strict with making sure the dough came out well, and while you did some baking before here and there, you definitely weren’t an expert on the amount of eggs that needed to be in cream puff dough. You were glad Levi knew enough for the cream puffs to come out looking absolutely delicious, because you weren’t sure if your heart could handle Levi breaking down into tears.
“Be careful when you’re cutting it in half,” Levi said nervously, watching closely as you sliced a cream puff. “Don’t get hurt, okay? I’ll freak out if you do. I don’t know how to reattach fingers, so I’ll probably have to go get Satan but wouldn’t it be too late by then? How long does it take before human fingers aren't able to reattach? Ah, but we have magic so—”
“Levi,” you said, patting his arm in a consoling manner, “I understand your concerns, but I’ll be fine. I promise to be extra careful, but you shouldn’t hold the whipped cream can—”
Pop.
“—too tightly…” you finished, but it was already too late.
The bottle of whipped cream, branded with a logo of Little Devil, exploded from the top. Some of the cream decorated the kitchen countertop in white spots and some fell on your hand, but most of it landed on Levi. You could barely see his face through the thick layer of white.
“...”
“Pfffftttt—cough, cough!” you started laughing, only to immediately cover it with coughs. It didn’t sound believable at all, but you continued on, setting the knife to the side. “Levi, are you okay?”
Before he could respond, much of the cream fell from his face in a huge glob, leaving behind a white coating with varying thickness and two spots where his eyes were. You choked back the laughter as best as you could, but it was hard to stop your lips from twitching. It wasn’t helping that he looked somewhat like a clown.
“Are, are you okay, Levi?” you asked again, biting down on your lips to stop it from forming into a smile. “That’s a lot of whipped cream…”
Levi opened his mouth, but you couldn’t see his lips at all, only a dark, gaping hole that opened and closed.
“Unbelievable…” he said, and you would have helped him clean the cream off his face if you didn’t absolutely lose it then and there, doubling over as you wheezed, slapping a hand against your thigh.
“I’m sorry,” you gasped, “but, oh my goodness, Levi, you—AHAHAHA, you look like a clown! A clown! Levi, I’m so sorry but—”
When you took another look at Levi, he was looking at you in equal parts disappointment and embarrassment as he wiped off most of the white cream with a hand, washing it under the faucet.
Even though most of the whipped cream was gone, the look he sent you almost launched you into another wheezing fit, but you steadied yourself as you wiped the tears from your eyes.
“Unbelievable,” Levi grumbled, but this time you could see the pout on his lips and the absolutely adorable way his eyebrows furrowed together.
“I’m sorry,” you said again, with a bit of guilt, and reached for the remaining cream hanging onto his bangs. “Here, let me get that—”
Levi caught your hand.
“You complete idiot,” he complained as he brought your hand to his lips. “Cruel and heartless, I can’t believe you’re my master… Normally, I wouldn’t forgive you for a hundred years but… ” He trailed off, and his eyes, the color of coral, met yours for a brief second before his eyes eluded yours, and his tongue peeked out and licked the whipped cream that had landed on the back of your hand.
Your eyes followed the retracting tongue and the way it swiped gently against his pink lips as it passed through. Dazed, you only processed what had happened when the kitchen air blew against the wet patch on your hand, the cold sensation and the realization warming up your face.
Now, you were the one blushing.
Levi finished with a whisper, “You’re lucky I love you.”

MULTIPLE WAYS TO GET A LUXE BATHROOM LOOK FOR LESS
Many homeowners desire to have an amazing-looking bathroom but are often not financially capable of taking care of the expenses involved. While sprucing up your washroom requires a heavy budget, you can — with a few tricks — go for a kitchen remodel that will give you a luxe bathroom, without breaking your account. Perhaps you`re just looking for how to accessorize your bathroom on a budget. Here are 12 tricks to help you achieve designer bathrooms on a budget.
1. INSTALLING GROUT COLORED TILES
Instead of tiling all or most of your wall surface (which is rather expensive), you can install white ceramic subway tiles, which are generally more affordable. But you can go for the dark or gray grout color if you don’t like the flat finished look of white subway tiles. Besides, both Gray and white cost the same.
1a. USE LARGER-FORMAT TILE
For a remodel project aimed at achieving a luxury bathroom on a budget, you can search for a more customized, pocket-friendly tile dimension, instead of the traditional 3 X 6 inches format. For instance, tile sizes of 2 X 9 inches and 4 X 8 inches can give your bathroom an outstanding look.
1b. CONSIDER TRIM ACCENTS
Another way to get luxe for less in your bathroom is by giving your standard tile a little punch by splurging a bit on trim pieces as accents. This is how to accessorize your bathroom on a budget as it gives your bathroom a unique look, and the little quantity required won’t stress your purse.
2. UPGRADE KNOBS AND PULLS
You can use simple hardware models to create a one-of-a-kind look. We will give you valuable design ideas, contact us now.
3. FURNITURE VANITIES
You can repurpose a flea market purchase or a nice piece of furniture in your home into a piece of unique vanity furniture, such as a filing cabinet. If possible, you can create something much more interesting with the old furniture, like cutting holes in the surface of the cabinet for a drop-in sink and faucet. You can also include retrofit drawers to create room for water supply.
4. CHOOSE LESS EXPENSIVE STONES
Stones can add a lot of punch to the aesthetics of your bathroom, and they sometimes come across as a must-have. But you can still achieve a designer bathroom on a budget. Check for less exotic stone types like Carrara marble at your local stores.
5. CHOOSE YOUR BATHTUB WISELY
Being the biggest item in a typical bathroom, the bathtub can be the most expensive item you’ll have to purchase for a remodel or new bathroom. However, you don’t have to break the bank. The luxurious types can go as high as $10,000, while less expensive vintage tubs from local architectural salvage shops or Craigslist can be purchased for as low as $700 to $500.
6. AFFORDABLE FINISH FOR PLUMBING FITTINGS
For all your plumbing fittings, you can go for nickel, bronze, brass, and chrome finishing, which are generally less costly. Amongst all, chrome is the least expensive and easiest to maintain. It also looks really good in both traditional and modern bathrooms.
7. TRY SHOWERCURTAINS
Shower curtains can truly freshen up your washroom and add some personal style to the space. Unlike expensive glass doors, finishing up with fresh white shower curtains will give you a luxurious bathroom for less.
8. GO CREATIVE WITH YOUR MIRRORS
The cost of the majority of mirrors on the market can fit into a tight budget. From wall-mounted variants with telescopic arms and portable pedestals to the more stylishly lighted vanity mirrors, you have a wide variety of options to pick from when thinking of affordable luxury bathrooms.
9. GO LUXE WITH ACCESSORIES
Little extras make a big difference. To further accessorize your bathroom on a budget, go for less expensive-looking toiletry storage like pretty glass pumps and bottles that look really nice. These can also add a glamorous touch to the overall appearance of your bathroom.

In Case You Don’t Live Forever P.4
pairing: Xavier Plympton x Reader
word count: 2,313
warnings: language, sadness, fluff, slight angst
not entirely proof-read. *title inspired by Ben Platt’s song*
part 1 part 2 part 3
Tumblr media
Life was fucking weird.
If it wasn't apparent to you then, you definitely realized it now.
Camp Redwood should just be burned to the ground, you thought to yourself. Your body felt like it was floating; nothing was holding you, you were just floating. Your eyes would not open, no matter how many times you attempted it. The air around you was cold, gently ruffling your hair and tenderly brushing against your skin. You had been there for a few moments, you thought.
In the real world, you were gone for weeks.
The day you died, everyone had come running back to the cabin, their arms loaded with supplies to take care of you. The sight of Xavier holding your dead body would haunt them forever. His cries of agony could probably be heard in Los Angeles as he begged you to come back.
The boys attempted to pull Xavier away from you, but he refused, picking up the dagger Richard Ramirez had left behind when he was dragged out. Your blood had already started to dry, and the others held their hands up, promising they wouldn't touch you. At least, not yet.
Montana sat next to Trevor outside, Ray and Chet leaning against some trees. They sat in silence, unable to hear Xavier as he forced them out, slamming the doors in their face.
"She has to come back, right?" Chet asked.
"It wouldn't make sense if she didn't," Montana frowned, "All of us did, he needs to calm down,"
Ray glared down at the blonde, straightening up. He knew nothing about you other than your name, and you were friends with Xavier. Yet, he still felt the need to defend you, to defend Xavier. You didn't deserve this.
You were here to grieve, not die.
"Why are you so miserable all of the time, hmm?" Ray snapped, prepared to fight a girl. Montana could probably beat his ass if he let her, but he was tired of being unheard in the group.
"What the fuck is your problem?" Montana asked, standing up. Trevor rubbed a hand over his face while Chet watched excitedly.
"You have nothing nice to say about anybody! You have no respect, did you know that, Montana? What the fuck did y/n ever do to you?"
Montana remained silent, sizing up Ray from head to toe. Maybe she wasn't in love with Xavier, but she liked him enough. All he would talk about was you, before and after 1984. It pissed her off that nobody loved her like Xavier loved you.
"You only care about yourself, an innocent person just died! You're Xavier's friend, right? How about you go in there and say what you just told us, see how fast he knocks you-"
A loud slap came from nowhere, his head whipping to the side. Trevor's mouth dropped open, slightly turned on by what just happened. Chet was speechless, looking at Montana with concern.
Montana was never one to apologize for her actions, and today was no different. She turned and stomped off, heading in the direction of the kitchens. Nobody bothered to go after her, knowing it would be a death sentence to disturb her.
"You okay, man?" Chet finally spoke up, placing a hand on Ray's shoulder.
"I'm fine," he said, blinking away the slight tear that formed in his eye. "I just, I did a lot of screwed up shit in my life, I want to be a better person."
"It's not too late for you," Trevor spoke up. The two boys turned, giving him a quizzical look. "We uh, we need to go in there, Xavier shouldn't be doing this to himself."
The boys agreed, slowly climbing up the steps and opening the door. It was silent in the other room, and as they joined Xavier, he was still holding you, his head resting on your head. Your eyes had already glazed over, the beautiful orbs now dead to the world.
"Xav," Ray said, holding out a hand. Xavier glared at them, his eyes still glassy, but no tears fell. "We need to move her,"
"LEAVE us alone, please!" Xavier said, his voice cracking.
Chet took a step forward, mimicking Ray's actions, "Plympton, she wouldn't want you doing this, we have to get her somewhere, they need to find her and bring her home."
Xavier couldn't argue with that, he knew Chet was right, damn him. You would be upset with him if he made himself suffer like this.
Xavier pressed a final kiss to your forehead, before slowly climbing off the bed. Ray kept him in place as Trevor and Chet gently grabbed you, wrapping you in a blanket and carrying you out.
Since nobody could get beyond the gates, they had to come up with a solution. The chances of you being found right away were slim to none. Xavier stayed back, his blue eyes shedding tears like a broken faucet.
You were one of the purest souls in the world, the most genuine Xavier had ever known. Would you come back to him? Would he be stuck for eternity in a world where you ceased to exist?
Xavier permanently residing in Camp Redwood was not easy. He managed to have a lot of good days, his new friends, and the things they did daily kept him grounded. But when it came to you, he had missed you dearly. It was more comforting to know you were alive in Los Angeles, leaving your mark on the world.
Now that you were gone, and that you might not return is what killed him the most.
_
Some poor souls found you while going on a hike.
They ran to the nearest payphone, calling the police, and once again, the camp was a crime scene.
Xavier and the others made no appearances, for the time being, Montana surprisingly honoring Xavier's wishes. The slight bruises and cuts along your body were clues, but it baffled the on-site coroner who was trying to figure out how you actually died.
Your car was then relocated, possibly going into evidence or to your parents who had filed you missing within two days of not hearing from you. When authorities questioned them, asking what business you had being there, they immediately brought up Xavier Plympton.
They found no substances in your system, obviously. Your injuries weren't deadly, so suicide was immediately ruled out. It brought some comfort to your parents, though. Your mom knew how distressed you were about Xavier, but the knowledge that a monster took you away stuck with them.
Eventually, Richard Ramirez was finally caught. Now that his count was to fifteen, he had no trouble admitting that he was the one who killed you. Though it was a freak incident, he took credit much to the horror of your parents and the family of the victims. Richard would eventually die in prison from cancer.
Your apartment was cleaned out, everything going to auction, or with your parents or the Plympton family. A framed photo of you and him was now hanging in your parent's house. They didn't just lose a daughter, they also lost a son.
You guys had known each other for years. The birthday parties, sleepovers, school plays, eventually going to homecoming dances together, (though Xavier had better things to do, he went because you did). Your mother wiped her tears, thinking of the more innocent times as they lowered your body into the ground.
-
December 1985
Your body slowly stretched as you woke up, yawning loudly. Your eyes were crusty, and you wiped at them with a slight grimace.
Your memory had been a little foggy, but as you sat up, you remembered where you were. You visited Camp Redwood in June, to see Xavier. He showed up, somehow, and then-
You slowly ran a hand down your torso, before feeling your legs that were clad in shorts. There were no cuts, no bruises, nothing as you started to observe your body. You knew you had died, and now you came back as a ghost?
You sat up and went to a dusty mirror, your hands touching your face. You looked flawless; any blemish, freckle, anything you hated was gone. It was like passing over made you into your most beautiful self, and it confused you.
You lightly smacked yourself in the face, seeing you could still feel pain. Your knuckles cracked when you flexed them, and your hair was silkier than ever. You looked and felt entirely human.
"This is crazy," you mumbled to yourself. Did everybody else react like this when they came back?
Since the sun was out, you decided to venture out. The air was crisp, telling you it had to be Fall, at least. Los Angeles never got cold, just a little nippy during the Fall and Winter seasons. You wondered why you woke up wearing shorts, but the long-sleeved top you wore (did you buy this in Heaven?) kept you warm. It was a plum purple, and it looked lovely on you.
You were hoping to run into somebody, just to feel like you weren't alone anymore. The last few months in what seemed like a dark, cold chamber left you isolated. You just wanted human interaction.
You remembered the others, Chet, Ray, Montana, Pornstache? You thought about calling their names, knowing they were around somewhere. You were anxious to see Xavier again, you remembered his words to you right before you died.
Even if you guys had the rest of eternity, you were dead. It was weird to think about.
"Hello?" You called your voice bored. "Somebody? Any help will be appreciated!"
Crickets.
You huffed, continuing on your trek until the sound of a twig snapping caught your attention. You looked around, the last time this happened, the Night Stalker abducted you. You still didn't see anything.
"Ray? Montana? Chet? The guy with the porno mustache?" You asked, refusing to step into the woods.
"Did you forget about me already, babe?"
Xavier poked his head from behind a tree, giving you a cheeky grin. You smiled at him, feeling as if an electric current was madly sparking between you two. He took a quick moment to observe how bright you looked, how beautiful you were. The past six months of endlessly waiting were finally here.
You were home.
You wished you could say the reunion was perfect, but you nearly stumbled into him as you overlooked a small hole in the ground. Xavier caught you, holding you up as the two of you giggled.
"I'm sorry!" You gasped, your hands fisting his now white shirt. He shook his head, cupping the back of your head and allowing your face to hide in his neck.
"I don't care, y/n, I'm just happy you finally came back to me," he whispered.
Xavier really didn't mean to say that last part out loud. His cheeks turned red as you looked up at him, your hands cupping his face as you smiled. His blue eyes were uncertain as they glanced from your eyes to your lips.
"I love you, Xavier Plympton," you stated proudly, loving the comical way his eyes widened. "I've loved you for so many years,"
Xavier's tear ducts were a work of art as he struggled not to cry. "I wish I hadn't been so stupid when we were alive, to tell you how I really feel,"
You nodded, "I was stupid too, Xav," his cheeks warmed up at your nickname. "I guess we have eternity now, huh?"
"You better believe it, babe," he said before he smashed his lips against yours. You gasped in surprise, squealing like a little girl in your head.
Your first kiss with Xavier was the best kiss you'd ever had. Even in death, he was a total babe.
It was quite a sight, the two of you making out in a wooded area. Xavier's hands stayed above your hips, running along your back, eventually sliding up your side to wrap his hands around your neck, just feeling you.
"GET A ROOM!"
You jumped from Xavier, but he didn't seem surprised. You hadn't had the chance to perfect the powers you now had as a ghost, but Xavier felt their presence before they even turned the corner. You hid your face from them, burying your head in his shirt.
After that steamy session, Xavier had a permanent smirk on his face.
"Well, I never thought I'd say this, but it's going to be nice to have another lady around here," Montana sighed, her arms crossed over her chest. The others were all smiling at the sight of you and Xavier.
"At least one of us can get laid around here," Chet mumbled. You gave him a surprised look, this time your cheeks becoming cherry red.
"My name is Trevor, if it doesn't work out with Plympton, I'm your man," he said, joking more than anything. Xavier glared at him, squeezing you tighter.
".. Joking," Trevor mumbled.
"How do you feel?" Ray asked, kindly.
You smiled a little, shrugging, "It kind of feels like I'm still alive,"
Montana grinned, the first time she really seemed genuine with you, "It's great, isn't it?"
"Is it still 1985?" You asked, and they nodded.
"Almost into the new year, actually," Xavier said, "They need to restore the power out here, give us a chance to have a New Years' kiss," he said, ignoring the fake gags and whistles coming from the others.
You gently nudged him in the belly, smiling at him.
"Well, I guess it's time we show you how things work around here, y/n," Montana said, stepping forward. She yanked you from Xavier's grip, poking her tongue out at him when he pouted. "It will be fine, come on," she said, dragging you along.
Maybe being dead wasn't that bad.

Warnings: angst (arguing), mentions of vomiting, language
(Y/M/N) - Your mom’s name
(Y/D/N) - Your dad’s name
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I run my fingers through my hair before unplugging my computer from the socket in front of my seat.
“You alright, (Y/N)?” My mom looks at me, my dad peeking around her as I give her a small smile.
“Yeah, tired is all.” I mutter, as I hand my mom my laptop so I can run to the restroom.
“You sure you’re okay, you have gone to the bathroom several times this flight-” my dad asks, raising an eyebrow as I stand up and step into the aisle.
“Yeah, I’m fine. I mean, this is a six hour flight.” I state walking away before he can make another comment. In reality, my boobs are sore, I am in need of something to settle my stomach, and had to pee. I groan in the bathroom and use the mirror in the bathroom to fix my hair into a sloppy bun before walking back to my seat. I settle back into the chair laying my head against the headrest.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” My mom asks, squeezing my knee.
“My stomach is not happy.” I mutter, catching the attention of a flight attendant.
“Miss, would you like some ginger ale?”
“I would, not too much please.” I whisper. She nods and smiles at me, passing me a small glass, “thanks.”
“You’re welcome, sweetness.” She states before walking back down to where she was supposed to be.
I sip slowly, shutting my eyes. I feel parent’s eyes burning holes into the sides of my head. “Can you both quit staring, I am fine.” I snap, my body making me irritable.
“We are just worried about you.” My mom says, taking my hand that wasn’t holding the glass. I nod in silence, sighing when I hear the announcement that stated that we would be landing in ten minutes. I slowly open my eyes, passing my glass to my mom to lean down and grabbing my backpack from under the seat in front of me to pack my computer and cords inside. After I drink what is left of my pop, shutting my eyes until finally the plane lands.
I couldn’t be more happy to finally be out of the plane. Telling my parents that I would be back in a moment, I run into the nearest restroom, emptying my stomach in the bathroom, and using a dry brush to get the taste out of my mouth and chew on some mint gum before walking out of the bathroom before exiting to rejoin them. My parents look at me, seeing the way my skin has paled in the matter of a few minutes, but decide not to say anything. The three of us make our way through the airport and grab our bags from baggage claim, one bag for my parents, and one bag for me since I would be spending time at Tom’s apartment instead of staying at the Holland’s family home.
I see Harrison sitting on his phone when we walk over to where he had texted me he was picking us up. I walk over and nudge his foot with mine. He looks up with a bright smile, before standing and giving me a hug. “How are you, (Y/N/N)?”
“Could be better, but we are here so that’s all that counts.” I state, pulling away and looking at him. There was a hint of something in his eye, it was a look that said he knew something that he shouldn’t.
“Mr. and Mrs. (Y/L/N), how are you both,” Haz laughs moving to pull them into a hug before taking my bag.
“We are doing really well-”
“Happy to be off that plane.” My dad laughs, as we follow him out to his car.
“Well, it’ll be good to have you around for the week.” Haz laughs. Once we get to his car, he helps my dad put our luggage into the trunk as I crawl into the front seat to sit beside him while he drives. As he begins our trek toward the Holland’s family home, I lay my head against the headrest and watch the world go by. When we pull up to the house, I sigh.
“You good there, (Y/N)?” Haz asks, squeezing my shoulder.
“Yeah, just tired.” I smile. We all exit the car, the sound of the front door opening catching my attention. “My little love!” I call as Tessa leaps of the steps and over to me. She squeals loudly and runs around my legs before stopping in front to me to place her paws on my thighs so she can lap kisses to my cheeks. I run my hands over her fur and kneel in the grass to kiss her head softly.
“Wow, it looks like you love Tess more than you love me.” Tom’s voice causes me to look up at him, smiling. He kneels down in front of me, smiling at me and his dog interacting.
“Hi, handsome.” I whisper, pushing Tessa slightly, her not moving too far from my side as I crawl to wrap my arms around him, basically crawling into his lap.
“How are you feeling?” He whispers into my hair as he holds me against him, Tess whining at the lack of attention.
“Like shit, but we can talk about it later.” I mutter, nuzzling my face into his neck.
Tom nods before lifting his head up and smiling, “Hey (Y/D/N), (Y/M/N), how are you?”
“We are doing good, Tom.” My dad calls, offering him a hand to help him stand after I move away from him before helping me stand as well.
“(Y/N/N)!” I turn to see Sam and Harry jog out of the house with Nikki and Dominic in tow.
“Hey, everyone,” I wrap each in a hug, being careful not to jar myself too much. I look at the group and come to the realization that the youngest Holland is missing. “Where’s Pads?”
“He’s on a camping trip with Grandad and Grandma, he wanted to be here but, you know.” Nikki says, squeezing me into her side.
“Well, he’ll still have fun, that’s all that matters.” I state, looking around at my family.
Tom notices how my face contours into discomfort, he opens his hand to me and pulls me into him, kissing my forehead. “I know we want to spend time all together now that everyone is here, but I think I am going to go back to the apartment with (Y/N). She looks like she needs an afternoon to relax.”
“She really hasn’t been feeling well, might be a good idea.” My mom states, smiling softly at us.
“We will see you all tomorrow, lunch at the apartment, remember?” Tom states, as Harrison joins our side. Everyone voices their goodbyes as Tom grabs Tessa and Harrison opens the back door for me. The three of us wave goodbye as we make our way back to the apartment, and once we do I can finally settle on the couch, Tessa sitting between my legs curled up tightly.
“I think someone already knows what is going on here.” Harrison teases, leaning against the wall.
“What are you talking about, Harrison?” I laugh lightly, rubbing Tessa’s head that is now firmly placed on my stomach.
“You know,” Haz folds his arms across his chest, “Tom is awful at keeping secrets. He had to tell somebody.” He laughs as Tom walks out of the kitchen carrying a mug in hand.
“You little shit! You weren’t supposed to tell anyone yet!” I scold, watching as Tom’s cheeks turn dark shade of red as he sits down.
“Don’t get mad, I had to tell someone and Haz was the best option.” He smiles at me softly, making me sigh.
I roll my eyes and look at Haz over Tom’s shoulder. “You excited to be an uncle again?” I tease.
“Uncle to my best mates’ kid? Hell yeah.” He smiles, shaking his head, “But now I am wondering how you two are going to tell the rest of the family.”
“Well, my brother already knows-”
“You yell at me for telling Haz, but you already told your brother? What the hell!” Tom laughs.
“Well, he couldn’t come on the trip so I took him out to eat and told him.”
“What exactly did you do?”
“I gave him a box that had a bottle filled with Hershey’s kisses in it.” I giggle, “It took him a second then it clicked and he looked at me in awe, and said the next time he sees you he is going to beat you for impregnating me.”
Harrison is laughing wildly while Tom shakes his head, “I think your Dad will get to me first.” He chuckles, pulling my feet into his lap to rub them softly.
“You still haven’t answered my question,” Harrison states, making Tom and I look up at him. “How are you telling everyone?”
~
I move around the kitchen, finishing the last touch frosting on the marble cake. Tom and I had made last night, now frosted with pink and blue frosting on the inside and the top decorated with strawberries and white frosting. I glance inside the oven to see that the baked mac and cheese was almost done and uncover the pot that had barbecue pulled pork inside. As I went to taste the pulled pork, the sweet taste causes my stomach to flip, making me spin around and sprint into the bathroom where Tom was currently taking a shower.
“Love, are you okay?” His voice comes out concerned, starting to get out of the shower with soap still in his hair.
“I’m okay, barbecue didn’t agree with me.” I say, groaning as I empty my stomach for the fourth time that morning. “Just get back in the shower I’m-”
Tom steps out, wrapping a towel around his waist as he pulls my hair away from my face and rubbing circles on my back as I puke again. “You’re alright, we can order something if you need me to?” I gasp for air, his hands leaving me. The sound of the faucet running alongside the shower catches my attention as Harrison calls out my name down the hall.
“She’s in here, Haz! Can you keep an eye on the food?” Tom calls back as he hands me the glass of water. We hear no reply as he goes back to rubbing my back. “You need me to get you anything?”
“No, just finish your shower, I am going to brush my teeth then go back and finish cooking-”
“Let Harrison finish, if it makes you sick again it won’t be good. You need to keep something down.” Tom states, cupping my cheek.
I sigh as Tom presses a kiss to my forehead as I nod. “Okay,” I whisper. Tom smiles as I move to the sink to brush my teeth again as he hangs up his towel again and hops back into the shower. I giggle to myself, while looking at him in the mirror.
“What are you laughing at, love?” Tom calls over the spray.
“Mirror butt.” I giggle again. I don’t have to see Tom rolling his eyes to know he is.
“You’re a weirdo.”
“But you love me ~”
“I do.”
I smile, walking out of the bathroom to the kitchen. Harrison is tasting the pork, smiling and humming in contentment. “Taste okay, Haz?”
“Tastes great, but what can I do to make your life easier?”
“All that needs to be finished is to make the salad and set the table. Everything else is ready.”
“Well, you tell me how you want it done, and I’ll do it.”
Today was a day to remember.
“Darling, lunch was very good!” Nikki smiles as she help my mom and I clean off the table while the boys put the food away and wash dishes.
“I’m glad! Harrison helped me finish everything,” I laugh, seeing Haz smile at me over his shoulder.
“Tom didn’t?” Harry asks, shoving his older brother playfully, only to be shoved back with a laugh.
“Tom was keeping Tess out of the kitchen so she wouldn’t sit and get under foot; but, he did help me with the cake-”
“Which we are having in a little while due to having all the amazing food you made, love.” Tom comes up behind me to peck my cheek. He turns his head so he can whisper into my ear more easily, “Why don’t you setup the camera while we finish cleaning up.”
I nod against his head, pressing a kiss to his cheek, and pass the pile of plates into his awaiting hands. “I will be right back, I have to pee.”
I wander into the living room, positioning my camera carefully to capture our surprise, before making my way to the bathroom. Once done “going,” I walk back and smile at the scene in front of me. Tom, the twins, and Harrison are laughing as they put away dishes. Dom and Nikki are washing/drying while my mom and dad are putting what is left of the food into containers to be stored in the fridge. Tom locks eyes with me and raises an eyebrow, I nod, answering his silent question of are we ready?
“Alright, now that we are done, let’s all get to the living room, (Y/N) and I have a surprise for you all.” Tom states, moving to my side only to press a kiss to my forehead before walking to the closet and pulling out a large cardboard box.
“What are you two doing?” Sam laughs, settling on the floor in front of the couch.
“Didn’t Tom just say that it was a surprise?” I giggle, pushing the box over in front of our parents. I notice Harry pull his camera out of his bag. I look at Tom and smile. “Okay, so we want each of you, besides Sam and Harry because we have separate things for you two, to shut your eyes and pick one thing from the box. Go ahead.”
Each of our parents reach inside the bag and pull out a bag with a number on it.
“Can we open our eyes?” Dom says with a smile.
“You may,” Tom states, watching as our parents laugh and show off their numbers to Harry who snaps a photo. “Now we have to go in numerical order in opening the gifts, so Dad since you have number one, you go first.”
Dominic laughs, pulling out the tissue paper. He shakes his head and rubs his eyes under his glasses before pulling out a plush teddy bear. The bear is wearing a pink and blue bow around its neck.
“Dom, the bear makes a noise if you squeeze it’s hand.” I giggle, leaning into Tom’s side.
He moves the bear and squeezes one side, and it is quiet, so he tries the other side. A heart beat comes through the speaker, making Dom smile. “Why a heartbeat?”
I smile and look at my dad who has the next bag. “Daddy, your turn.”
“You are really not going to answer questions until the end, are you?” He asks as he pulls the tissue paper out. As he sees me shake my head he laughs, digging inside as Tom pecks my temple and quickly leaves my side to get Sam and Harry their surprises. My dad pulls out a frame that could hold three pictures, two of the pictures were already filled. One was of Tom and I at our “wedding” the first time we met and the second was of Tom and I from his movie premiere.
“There is a note, Dad.”
He digs further in the bag and pulls out the note, “It says, ‘One for the (Y/L/N) family home and the Holland family home. The picture that is missing is inside bag number four.’ So does that mean we will have to open four before three?”
“Nope,” Tom laughs, handing both boys a box before looking at my mom. “(Y/M/N), can you open the next one?”
My mom looks suspiciously at us before slowly pulling the tissue paper out of the bag. She laughs when she pulls out two bottles of wine, passing one to Nikki as she reads, “'One for each of our mamas, who raised some pretty amazing people.’ What is going on with you two?”
“Mum, it’s your turn.” Tom said, moving behind me and cupping his hands on my stomach.
I notice Harry has already opened the box, as well as Sam. They both have large grins plastered on their faces and look up at us in disbelief. Harry snaps a few pictures quickly before closing the box back up.
Nikki pulls out the paper quickly, seeing that there is a card and two smaller boxes, one addressed to each family. She passes hers to Dom and the other to my mother before opening the card. She covers her mouth, letting out a laugh. “'Coming this upcoming February…” Nikki opens the card and two ultrasound pictures fall out making our parents gasp as she continues, “'Parents becoming Grandparents.’”
“You’re pregnant!” My mom yells, placing her hands over her mouth.
“I’m the cool uncle!” Harry yells, pulling out a pair of green booties from his box.
“Dude, no, I’m the cool uncle,” Sam laughs, pulling out another pair in purple.
“You’re both wrong,” Harrison says, stepping away from the wall. “I’m the cool uncle.”
I look at our parents, slowly moving away to move closer to them. “This wasn’t planned, hell I think you all know that, but Tom and I are really excited-”
“How far along are you?” My mom whispers.
“About 14 weeks,” I say, then I look at my dad. “Daddy, aren’t you happy for me? For us?”
“That’s why you’re moving to London.” He states, my mom’s eyes going wide.
“You’re what?!” She yells
I take a small step back, Tom’s parent’s eyes wide with their mouths hanging open. “I told you-”
“You said there was a possibility-”
“No, I said that in September I would be.” I state, feeling suddenly overly vulnerable. “I thought- we thought…” I feel tears getting ready to fall.
Tom quickly moves to my side, moving in front of me almost in a manner to protect me. “You can’t be mad at her, I-”
“Yes, you.” My dad states standing. “You impregnate my daughter and you expect us to be okay with it?”
“(Y/D/N)-” Dom tries to cut in but Tom is faster.
“Do you think that I don’t love (Y/N)? Because I have never stopped since the moment I met her. Yes, it is sudden. Yes, it was an accident, but I would not change what has happened. She’s my best friend, the love of my life, and I could not be more excited to have her carrying my child, your grandchild, and if I remember correctly I believe that you and my parents all said it was only a matter of time before her and I got married and had kids-”
“But you aren’t married-”
“We will be!” He states, his voice rising in annoyance, “After he or she is born because (Y/N) doesn’t need anymore stress on her than what she has now.”
The room falls silent, and I slowly wrap my arms around Tom’s middle, my tear stained face pressing into his back. “We decided on London because there are more people we can call, we do not intend to not ever come back to (Y/S). We looked in depth on it a few weeks ago, we decided then too to tell you all about the baby. We were so excited. This doesn’t change anything, because in the end, it was always going to be us together, so having a baby now doesn’t change anything. We want you to be a part of their life.” I turn my head, my eyes finding Nikki and Dom’s watching us. I slowly let go of Tom, moving to stand beside him, holding his hand. “We don’t need your approval on what has already happened, we just want you in their life, because you have done so much for us, and we love you guys.”
Nikki moves from her seat, holding the key chain that had been inside the box, stepping up to me. “I’m excited to 'be promoted’ to grandma,” she whispers, opening her arms to us. I turn and let her pull me into her arms. After a minute Tom, the twins, and Dom join.
Once they pull away I look at my parents. “Mom, Dad?”
My dad looks at my mom before standing and opening his arms. I hug him, but when I pull away I see tears in his eyes. “I’m sorry, (Y/N/N), I know you are going to be a phenomenal mother,” he glances behind me at Tom, “And as much as I am not happy, I’m glad you’re the father. I know you will take care of my little girl, and your little one.”
“Congrats, sister, we are really happy for you. For you both, it just was a bit of a shock.” my mom states, joining my father’s hug.
I laugh, “Yeah, and I got it all on camera,” I point over at it, making everyone laugh. “I might have to do a little more editing to it though.”
After the laughter dissipates, Harry speaks up,“So, when are you going to tell Paddy?”
