Sunday Time Capsule 3: taken about 1899. My great uncles. Charlie Hussey (left) would go on to play professional baseball in the 1920's. Ferg Hussey (right) would fight with the 357th infantry division in France in 1917-18. He was gassed with mustard gas in the last battle of World War I. Most of his lungs were destroyed. On Jan 12th 1934 he was murdered on his farm in Tillman County OK by being doused with stove fuel and set on fire. It was suspected that the murderers were connected to his bootlegging ties during the Prohibition days of the 20's. the case was never solved. His father (my great grandfather) was a judge who against the Volstead Act and defended bootleggers. He was going to call in a state investigation into Ferg's death, but Judge Hussey died two months later from pneumonia. #alexindia #alexindiapalace #worldwarone #wwi #thegreatwar #greatwar #doughboy #357thinfantry #357infantry #prohibition #tillmancounty #oklahoma #murder #majorleaguebaseball #hussey #ferguson #ferg #parris #judge #comanchecounty #1895 #1934 #1917 #1918 #armisticeday #armistice #volsteadact #bootlegging (at Tillman County, Oklahoma)
