I want to talk about how being happy when you're with someone, happy doing whatever mundane thing, is about love, but it's also about safety. Almost from the start Kurosawa felt safe with Adachi.

Even if he had a hard time letting go of being completely in control, Kurosawa felt safe enough to try. I think about the scenes above, and about the one where Adachi overhears him composing that impromptu poem on the bus. Just before that when they were texting Kurosawa said he didn't mind that their date had been postponed to help Tsuge because they would always be together from that point on. It's possible that some people see that as a throwaway line, but it stood out to me because that's a pretty big leap to take on what would have been a first date, but he was serious enough and felt safe enough despite some insecurities to commit to a lifetime with that one sentence.

I think the show is remarkable because it explores this idea, and most of the plot revolved around Adachi struggling to feel worthy of that love, and trying to get to a place where he felt safe with Kurosawa too. So many works of fiction place the emphasis on whether or not person A is in love with person B, but not many focus on the sense of safety and comfort that's needed for true intimacy.

I just finished the Cherry Magic movie and it was so positive that I cried many times. It's not the kind of movie that's going to blow you away with the plot, or throw you into a spiral of obsession or etc, it was just a soft and warm, a wonderful movie.

It felt like a movie that was needed, the characters were all brought back, their main essences stayed the same, lots of connections to the original series and no audience pleasing scenes.

The scene that for me is a interpretation of this movie is the ending scene. They could've waited and made a beautiful shot of cherry blossoms or blooming trees, but they didn't. They didn't try to unnecessarily add a filter to their story, life is life. It's up to us to put in the effort, communicate, be grateful for what we have and treat others with kindness.

10/10, will be looking for a way to support this movie by buying dvds or smth; I'll do research.

The fact that his fantasies were sweet and respectful and involved a lot of domestic interaction -- tasting food, doing laundry, doing chores together presumably -- somehow makes it that much sweeter? On the one hand I see the white t-shirts as code for nudity, but on the other they just suit them in this series.

And I suppose it tells us that they know their audience pretty well. Not that there is a single audience for BL, but you know ...

now that i think about it kurosawa has actually had multiple fantasies including white undershirts
