21. a number that weirds you out?

I'm not super weirded out by numbers in general, but if I had to choose one, I would say pi. I wonder on occasion why the value that pi represents gets to be so significant and fundamental. Why not any other number? Why 3.14etc. specifically? But then I think, really, it's not the number itself. Nobody went through every decimal to check if any are super magical or anything. We found it by backing math into a corner, isolating every rational part of the things that pi is relevant to until the universe simply ran out of rationality to show us. Pi is infinitely long, and we'll never be able to know or represent it as anything other than a conceptual hole in our rational understanding of the world around us. It sits there, never able to be known in the way that we like to know things, forever reminding us that no matter how much we need our rules to understand the nature of reality, reality simply doesn't play by our rules past a certain point. And I guess it weirds me out a bit!
