was experiencing a bizarre mix of microagressions (directed at me) and general transphobia (not at me.. probably?) at work today. was not good :/
#recipe for one bad conversation:#1. me - gnc but closeted nb lesbian#2. transphobic coworker who accpts their kid who just came out as bi#3. extremely lgbtphobic gay man#they were both fully agreeing with one another that children shouldn't be taught about lgbt ppl in school#and then afterwards coworker 1 took me aside to apologise if they offended me and acted like it was just the other one??#... :/ like she had literally just called trans kids confused (derogatory) a few mins beforehand why was she acting like it was just him#she asked me 'if i identified as a they/them' implied i was 'confused' when i tried to avoid the question#& then assured me she was accepting of everyone right after.. come on now#the other one eventually apologised too (i think she told him to??) but then proceded to tell me about his struggles with being gay#& how christianity has helped him get through that#i dont care!!! stop telling me this!! can you all shut up!!!#it was just us 3 working together. this conversation continued for the *whole* time i was at work#he was clearly trying to keep the lgbtphobia toned down around me too and yet.. it was so so bad#cw transphobia
